My 96 year old mom got rushed to the hospital today. She had bad back pain..What was concerning is she has two aneurysms..one in the aorta and one in her stomach. I was so worried it was them. I never drove so fast. I made it to the hospital in ten minutes instead of twenty. She’s fine. They gave her every test..It’s just her age. They’ll have to manage her pain. Her back and bones are just worn out. Good news I was able to drive her back to the nursing home instead of the ambulance.

So glad to hear your Mom is ok and you were able to get her back to the nursing home yourself. Hope they get her pain under control. You must be exhausted!
 
Thank you @junebug17 @Cerulean @rcjtraveler..Her doctor is going to adjust her meds. I am totally exhausted. They called me when I was sleeping. I shot out of bed...threw clothes on..and raced out the door. My eyes are bloodshot. It will be an early night tonight.

Thank you @calliecake….I do feel relieved that she was given all the tests. Of course anything can happen at her age. I also get phone calls when someone gets Covid..even if it’s not on her floor. They will sometimes call after 9pm. Those phone calls…because they’re late..really stress me out.

@MamaBee, Can you ask the nursing home to please not call after 8:00 PM unless there is a problem with your mom. It’s never good news when the phone rings after 10:00 PM in our household.

Haha! I don’t think this applies to our children. Maybe because many children grow up being shielded from their parents’ problems and so don’t think we have any, or they believe we’re capable of dealing with them ourselves? :lol:

My son and daughter-in-law have two young children under five..full time working, etc. They are full on parents keeping them active and happy..I’m sure they don’t have time to worry about me..My oldest is pretty wrapped up in himself to worry about me. It’s all good!
 
We received the annual property tax bill for our cars this week.

Despite the cars being one year older than last year, the assessed value of the cars has increased-- so the taxes have increased also.
*sigh*
 
Reselling on Poshmark is hard! Got into it just before coronavirus struck, so what was a great idea became a terrible one trying to compete w the world plus garage sellers.

Beautiful luxury bags, dresses, high end athletic wear, and I’ve got to move it all PLUS sell a full vintage purse collection that I haven’t even listed yet.

It’s daunting & after weeding through offers, Poshmark takes it cut, and I pay taxes on all sales revenue, I make maybe 50 cents an hour, probably more like lose 50 cents an hour

I've thought about getting rid of some stuff through Poshmark, but given how much effort I already put into my Etsy store that just might kill me! :lol: Seriously, I feel ya. This sort of thing is A LOT of work. Much more than I ever imagined before I started doing it. The only good news is I sell wine glasses... so... yanno... WINE. :cheeky:

I mean really, is it possible to sell high end hand bags on LT? I wish we had a forum for those here…they cost as much as a lot of jewelry, so why not
 
Lately work is really an internal struggle for me. I work in a bakery and usually have one or two days off a week, typically Friday and Saturday. My particular job isn’t difficult, anyone can do it. Well the woman who was doing my job on Saturday threatened to quit if they didn’t get someone to do it since she has other things to do and she was too overwhelmed. Now I am on the schedule for Saturday nights from 5-9pm.

My gripe with this is that I hardly ever see my whole family together, DH works Saturdays during the summer so that really only leaves us with Saturday night and Sunday until I go to work which is usually 3pm. To add insult to injury, she is now gloating about how much easier she has it, how much more relaxed she is, and how wonderful her life is. It just seems so completely obnoxious and insensitive and it takes everything I have not to say anything back.

Unrelated, but today my SIL sent our youngest son who is turning 8 on Friday a birthday gift, it is an Oculus VR set, you need a Facebook account to use it, our fifteen year old doesn’t even have Facebook. She isn’t speaking to us since our falling out so she didn’t ask what he wanted, she probably thought this was high tech and cool and he would enjoy it.

Except he can’t use it and now DH has to call her and figure out what to do :oops2:

It is a reasonable idea but she refuses to do my job even if it’s occasionally. There was no problem until she decided she didn’t want to work during the day, now she works from 6pm to midnight and despite getting the hours she wanted, not having to do my job ever, she is still complaining that nobody is helping her with prep work. What does that entail? Putting muffin liners into muffin tins!
 
Lab Corp ran completely the wrong blood work on me last week. I got the results this afternoon and was like huh. What is this? I called Lab Corp and they were like oops. LOL. Luckily we weren't too far from them at the time I called and they said come right over. They took me immediately despite being crowded and I was out in two minutes. So not really a grumpy post because I am happy they rectified it but still. How does that happen? Completely wrong blood work.

I would be so annoyed right now if I were you lol. This might be just me but I couldn't stand it when someone I was on the outs with thought they could independently have a relationship with my child. Oh noooo, back off, j*ck off lol.

About your co-worker, so if you threaten to quit does that mean you can have whatever you want too? Wow. And family time is usually so limited anyway. I'd be tempted to look for another job that offered more family-friendly hours, then gloat back at her when you tell her about it. :)
