Let it all hangout -- The Grumpies, whinies, complainies Get It Off Your Chest Thread....

@junebug17 My three stone emerald cut is also a size seven. It’s a little big but since my fingers swell up in the heat it’s fine right now. I’ll probably wait until Winter to see how they fit. I’ll either get those silicone huggies for both rings..or get little sizing beads added. I would trust a local jeweler to do that instead of getting them resized. I’m not mailing my rings to California even though I trust David. I don’t trust the mail system.

I love those silicone things that help keep our rings fitting right.
They work magic and are invisible pretty much. Definitely a great option IMO.
And yeah I do not blame you. The USPS system (and UPS and Fed Ex) are less than reliable right now.

Thanks @missy I did try silicone noodles..but the ones I previously tried unraveled and slid around. If you or someone knows of a good brand please let me know. I saw some silicone ones that clip on…I may try those?.I won’t need it until summer is over so no rush..At this point I’m not sure I’ll be able to even get a wedding band on with the ring.
Ill be a wreck when my ring is enroute to my house..It should be coming soon. I hope I love it because I won’t send it back! :eek2:

Thanks Missy..This is the one I was considering! One of them shows a photo where it has a clip at the ends. That’s the one I would like to try. At this point I won’t be able to get my new ring on easily. :cry2:

Oh ok @MamaBee, yes, that sounds good - I was thinking you'd have to send it back to David, which would be a hassle and stressful, but if you have a local jeweler you can use that works out great!

I would do that @junebug17..or make a trip out to California if this darn virus ever gets under control. I’m definitely not mailing them. I’ll camp out in his store until he does it.

I get it @MamaBee, sending these expensive items through the mail is just nerve-wracking! To be honest, none of my rings are a perfect fit all the time...sometimes they're snug and sometimes they're spinning around on my finger. It's amazing how much outside conditions and physical changes can influence ring size. I use the silcone noodles when I need to and they work pretty well for me.

Can't wait to see your reset! And it was a good idea to size up, now you will be able to wear it.

Thanks @junebug17! When you have a ring on with a noodle can I see it? No rush..just if you think of it when you have one on.
I LOVE your new ring! It’s so gorgeous..and HUGE! :kiss2:

@MamaBee, My finger size changes throughout the year. During winter my rings seem larger and they are tighter during the summer. I’ve had sizing beads put in a ring and that seemed to work out great. Once I get the rings past my knuckle they tend to spin while wearing them. I found the sizing beads really help with that.

Your rings are too beautiful to not be worn. I‘d size the ring to fit now. Thank goodness there are options like sizing beads, sizers and fitters.

Thanks @Calliecake.. Are your sizing beads on the flat side or more rounded?
I emailed David last night to ask if he could resize it this late in the game. He said it wouldn’t be a problem.

@MamaBee, There are two sizing beads placed around where the 5 and 7:00 o’clock hands on a clock are. They are rounded. This ring was purchased close to 10 years ago. I had the rIng made a little larger because there are small diamonds around 3/4 of the band. I’m so glad I did because they can shave the beads down if my ring size increases. I wish I had done this with a couple other rings.

Thanks! I’m glad now that I’m sizing it up..

Well..I’m sitting here eating dinner and felt Emmy fall over my finger to the left. You know that feeling when your pinky finger catches it and pushes it back? That means the swelling is much better. I definitely can put a wedding band on right now. I’m still happy I’m getting Winter sized to a size 7. I’ll just be able to stack bands. There’s no way I could lose them because of my knuckles. Sorry to drone on about my swollen finger..

Also…I either have a rotator cuff problem or biceps tendonitis..All I know is my shoulder..all the way down the inside of my arm into my palm hurts like the dickens.

Note that 'love' reaction is because your finger is going down :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:
not for your poor shoulder :(2

I had a majorly painfully shoulder problem a few years ago i was worried was a rotator cuff problem
It was so painful i was in constant agony and could not sleep

a lovelly physio lady fixed it
Id never been a beleaver in alot of physio therapy before
But she fixed it ... and my tennis elbow while she was at it

@Daisys and Diamonds I can’t sleep either. It’s so painful.. How long did you go to therapy?

It did take ages
As i did the damage doing something for work my store manager was pretty good about giving me paid time off - i worked in a small village where most workers commuted into Wellington, so it was easy to get appointments that suited and it made sence to go to her in waikanae rather than closer to home
My workmate recommended her when i couldn't get a doctor's appointment that first day i came to work in a real state sure i had done my rotar cuff

at one stage the physio used to joke she was treating half our staff
But selling timber and related product is heavy work

I started off by going twice a week for maybe 2 months
First thing she did was strap it which gave some instant releaf

I actually found sleeping on the sore side was less painfully than the other way around? but it was the worst pain ive ever had ( i don't have kids :lol-2: )

I also pretty much carried absolutly nothing while it was being treated so my work mates had to lug my 20kg bags of drywall plaster that was my usual responsibility

After a while i went down to once a week - we have compulsory govt accident insurence here so i only had to part pay
I had so many treatments allocated before i would have had to go to a doctor to be allowed more
so we stoped while i still had a few more sessions up my sleeve incase i needed them

i do find i have to be mindful of my shoulder and not carry too many groceries or other shopping home if im walking
No way do i want pain like that ever again
I would wimper all night in bed like a puppy just separated from his mum

Anyway if i were you I'd give it a try
i don't like being touched by other people but she used a machine thingy - i just forget what they are called and it didn't hurt at all

Ok, now you've got me wondering @MamaBee...are you sure the size 7 will be ok? You can contact David and tell him to go with the original 6.75. But it sounds like you want to stack bands so maybe the larger size will work ok for you.

Sorry about the tendonitis, you're dealing with one thing after another!

@junebug17 I think I will eventually have to get sizing beads added to both rings. I really don’t want to get it sized again. I just don’t trust anyone to do it other than David. I like the idea of the beads. That seems less drastic. I did read up on it. It says it decreases the size by a quarter size. That’s not much…I’ll just play it by ear.

Sounds good @MamaBee! The sizing beads are a good option and will work well for you. Am going out but I'll post a pic of the silicone noodles on my ring when I get back. It was hot yesterday so I didn't need to use one lol! Thanks for the nice words, I am having fun wearing this ring.

I hope you're feeling a little better today, take care.

Are you wearing a band with your gorgeous ring?

I have no toleration for those who abuse or threaten animals! A lady in town was going to get her two cats spayed as part of a program that takes the litter of kittens (to be fully vetted including alteration then adopted to carefully screened homes) once they are old enough to leave mom and spays mom (who stays with owner) so she has no more litters. Well, this lady kept letting them roam loose. Mom disappeared. She didn't say anything for two DAYS. You can imagine the cries of three week old babies who haven't eaten in a day or two... She refused help. Didn't want to learn how to feed them. Wouldn't let anyone go help her at her home. Nothing. Then a few hours after telling us there was a problem, she said she was done and had to take an exam for school. Get them out of there within 30 minutes or they get set outside in the yard to fend for themselves. I was stuck an hour away so my friend met her and got them. She's leaving town for a family thing, so I have houseguests until Friday. Changing clothes and washing myself after handling them since I have no idea what they might have. So glad a rescue was able to take! Most are stuffed.

Three weeks old. Eating kitten milk replacement mixed with kitten food. Pooping in a litter box. Friendly! Several climb up my body to snuggle while purring. The others don't mind being handled.

@MamaBee, you can cut the sizers to different lengths and sometimes a smaller piece works fine. I'm ok with how it looks, I don't really notice it and I don't think it's very visable to others. That said, one definite advantage to the sizing beads is they're not visable.

Thank you so much @junebug17! I wouldn’t care about how it looks under my hand. I’ll try those out in the winter.

I hate the whole perfect little daughter routine put on for the public! My aunt disliked my grandfather. She wanted as little to do with him as possible, was extremely disrespectful towards him, was disgusted by most of his interests, and spent most of the last 10+ years being awful. She made his last few years miserable as she moved in with them and proceeded to shove his stuff out of the way to make more room for her stuff. He told me regularly that he felt like he had no space of his own and couldn't even get to the stuff he had because people kept moving it or shoving it so far out of the way it couldn't be gotten to. She even went so far as to haul off two truck loads of "trash" plus boxes and boxes of other stuff to donation. He was livid that everything he worked for was being taken from him. Well, now she has spent the last few months posting the tragic exhausted but loving caregiver memes followed by devastated daughter stuff. Now she is singing FOUR songs at the memorial service?!? No, I was not asked if I would like to sing or speak or anything. Worse than that, the one thing I was doing (baking the cookies Grandma wanted for after the service) has been taken away because my aunt felt it was important to welcome help from the choir (after she "poor exhausted me" whined to them about needing to make cookies and she is just so tired --- except she wasn't even going to contribute to them!!!).

When I heard about the FOUR songs, I told my mother that my aunt is overcompensating to cover up the guilt she should feel for her lousy behavior all these years. Yes, I am livid. I know it doesn't really matter. He is gone. I was there with him these last years. We went to all sorts of events together, shared regular meals, opened (and drank!) wine his uncle made in 1940, talked about various things he did in life, and shared more smiles than I could ever count. All while that aunt stomped around refusing to speak to him most of the time and refusing to even eat food with everyone when I planned Father's Day or whatever.

This is the perfect to tell your aunt when you feel the time is right.

My ex is hiding money in our youngest daughter's bank account. He owes back child support so he is unable to keep money in his own account.

I am talking thousands of dollars at a time. She mentioned again this morning, telling me he is buying a new raptor truck! I told her as long as she is living here, she is not allowed to hide his money any longer. I do not get involved with anything to do with him as a general practice. However, this directly effects me and my finances and has for over five or six years. She looked right at me and told me she doesn't care, doesn't bother her to hide his money.

I am so tired friends :-(

Is this something your attorney can help with? That is appalling!
