Let it all hangout -- The Grumpies, whinies, complainies Get It Off Your Chest Thread....

Oh lovely, I wish this weren't true. I'm sending you strength, and healing vibes across the kms b/c goodness knows I wish I could do more.

Thank you so much Sharon I truly appreciate your kind wishes and hope you're doing well yourself ((hugs))

My friend's husband was diagnosed with glioblastoma today after emergency surgery. He went from a vibrant, energetic, robustly healthy person, the only person we know who could keep up with my DH on strenuous hikes, to terminally ill in 6 weeks. She came by on her way home from the hospital, in shock, and needing a shoulder to cry on and someone to hold her while she wept. He was still sedated from the surgery tonight so he doesn't know yet. Prognosis is one year with treatment. Difficult decisions ahead for both of them.

Tested positive for Covid. I think it is Day 3 today with Telehealth visit in a few minutes. Got it from a colleague at work.

How are you doing @Cerulean Sore throat and fever the past 2 days are mostly gone but struggling with chest congestion today.

My physical symptoms haven’t been so bad, I had a low fever for a few days, sore throat, head congestion and headache. My coworker had a fever of 103 for 3 days and has struggled to breathe o_O

The weirdest symptom is the brain fog / cognitive fatigue. It’s real for me. I got covid from an international trip and couldn’t differentiate jet lag from fog at first, but it’s persisted for a week. I did basic tasks for work in the AM Wednesday and was so exhausted I had to recover for the rest of the afternoon. I almost feel slightly drunk, it’s so bizarre and I hate it. I hope it goes away soon.

Wishing you a quick recovery

Thinking of you both @chrono and @Cerulean -- please take good care and hope you recover soon and without any lingering issues.

That is very sweet of you. Ultimately I feel lucky, as I’ve had relatively mild symptoms so far. I’m grateful!

I am on the 5 day antiviral so I hope the symptoms go away soon! I can barely walk a few feet without breathing extremely hard and exhausted.

@Cerulean @chrono I hope you both feel better soon! @chrono Did you test at home? I never could understand how people get the antiviral quickly in that case.

Gosh I’m so sorry. That’s terrible. Please get as much rest as you need and hoping you get relief soon!

Thank you for the good wishes @Cerulean @Calliecake @MamaBee @junebug17 @marymm (Hope I didn't forget anyone else).

New symptoms - the glorious night sweats alternating with chills. Is this what menopause feels like? LOL On the plus side, I think the anti-virals started to kick in. I feel so much better today.

So glad the antiviral has kicked in! When I was taking it, I thought I was imagining the improvement of my symptoms within the first 24 hours, but no, it was working. One tip I found helpful- snack constantly. Keep something in your stomach at all times. I had stomach discomfort that would wake me up. So I was having a small bowl of cereal at 3 am to combat it.

Thank you for asking @Calliecake @RMOO @MamaBee Yes, I am much better other than the exhaustion. Seems that I am one of the 5% who experience a roadkill taste in my mouth from the anti-viral.

How are you this morning @Cerulean

Feeling much better today actually. Sorry you had negative side effects from anti viral, but sounds like overall you’re feeling better?

I will go back to work (remotely) - will try to take it slow

Yes, remote work for me this morning too but my brain is everywhere. I cannot seem to focus!

Oh wow - that's the taste I've had too! Almost...metallic in a way? I'm glad it's working though!
I never had a test to determine if I'd had COVID, however, after a very brief experience with some of the symptoms (very mild, and lasted not quite two days), I noticed that my toothpaste tasted sort of like a cross between metallic and the aftertaste/feel of stevia (the latter of which I detest). I notice it when I eat sweet things, and some types of carbs (rice, potatoes), and beef, too. Very peculiar sensation/taste. It's still occurring, and it's been several months. :???:

@MamaBee
I feel almost 100% recovered too. Energy level is much higher but looks like I have to rebuild my stamina.

My 96 year old mom got rushed to the hospital today. She had bad back pain..What was concerning is she has two aneurysms..one in the aorta and one in her stomach. I was so worried it was them. I never drove so fast. I made it to the hospital in ten minutes instead of twenty. She’s fine. They gave her every test..It’s just her age. They’ll have to manage her pain. Her back and bones are just worn out. Good news I was able to drive her back to the nursing home instead of the ambulance.
