Also I stuck this in the meme thread by accident, but my dryer died yesterday. and I have a fan that lots parts of the plug in the freaking outlet today.

maybe I should go back to bed and start over...
 
The deer jumped into our yard and pretty much decimated the small apple tree. :???: Plus it/they ate one huge strawberry plant almost to the ground. Stinkers! :lol: I am now scheming with things to deter deer. Let the contest begin! :D
 
I got 10 chicks from a local lady who has been hatching for years. A couple of people I know got from her and said healthy chicks. Great! I would much rather support local than a big mail order hatchery! 7 roosters, 3 hens. Even worse ratio than I was expecting, but okay. One chick is badly crossbeak (rooster) and one has a less developed lower beak. When I told the lady about the crossbeak, she was shocked and said she has never seen such a thing I must have hurt it. Her super experienced friend agreed. Then I saw these massively smaller hen. Discovered her issue. She was eating and drinking and seemed to be doing okay. Seemed. Was okay at 7:30 this evening. Then when I went in to fill up food bowls and check water before bed, she was on her side not moving with another chick walking over her outstretched wing. She barely moved when I touched her. Cool to the touch. Now I am holding her on my chest in an 85 degree room giving syringes of electrolyte water mixed with her food hoping that she pulls through okay. I wish someone could get through to that lady that her chickens have a problem. One batch of chicks should not have two with serious beak issues! Going to be a long night.
 
I'm sorry to read that, TooPatient. It hurts more when you tried so hard.

The fish may draw some other mosquito predators like dragonflies, I’m not sure. Years ago when I was looking for mosquito solutions (it was around the time the Zika virus was a problem), I needed something safe for a pregnant person and subsequently a mother and infant. While permethrin is toxic to cats and fish (you shouldn’t swim in lakes or other bodies of water that aren’t chlorinated with it on your swimwear) it is not toxic to humans or dogs. I wasn’t sure how much I trusted that. In the end I decided I would rather risk minimal time outdoors WITH the use of permethrin with less risk of mosquito and tick-related diseases.

This probably holds less weight, but the United States military uses permethrin to treat soldiers’ uniforms to protect against mosquito and tick bites. Lyme disease is a serious issue, and obviously any other disease either bug is capable of spreading.

I don’t use it often. I keep one set of “outdoor” clothing and gear that I treat with it. Those items are laundered separately from everything else. It’s a personal decision. I wanted to give you a personal review to add to your research, and for anyone else who’s reading. Chemicals are not the ideal choice, but sometimes the risk outweighs the worse outcome.
 
My 17 year old is in the mental hospital. He cut his wrist yesterday. This last year has been 3 hospitalizations and 1 inpatient drug rehab. I’m just so sad to watch him suffer. When they’re little, you can help them and “take it all away,” but now, my words and my love do not reach his heart. I feel so helpless. I’m terrified for his homecoming. I’m not sure i can do this

I bought a 1mm 14k box chain from an Etsy store. After 3 weeks of wear, the lobster clasp "jaw" fell out of the clasp. When I messaged the vendor, he said that it was a delicate chain, and he would replace it for free, but would not provide me with a shipping label. Oh, and no RMA# or paperwork, because "everything is written down." Uhhhh, okaaay? . So before shipping it back, I took it to a local jewelry store to see if it would be cheaper (or not too much more) to replace the clasp locally than to pay for shipping (and having to wait 2-3 weeks to get a replacement.) The first store quoted $75 for a baby lobster clasp!!! Ridiculous!! On the way home, I decided to give a second local store a shot - $25, and I'll have it back on Saturday. Sold! - and "unfavoriting" the etsy shop.

I am sorry your son, and you/family, are going through this. My sister went through a similar situation, and all I can say is, take it one day at a time. Your son has a fighting chance because he has you, a concerned parent, supporting him. You are all in my prayers.
 
The only things in my yard that are still green, are the weeds!

Crap! Did not know this could happen. Still under treatment for a dental implant with cadaver bone. Had to put a collagen injection in gum to beef it up. I think one more visit then cleared to go to dentist for tooth. This has been going on since early Spring! Please keep posting as to how this could have happened. Saying prayers for you.

my "graft'' was some kind of powder that I think is ground up bone.....Not an actual piece of bone.

21,000UI by mouth didnt work and I took with omega 3 rich foods. I eat fish 2 days a week, that also didn't help (tuna and salmon though I need to be careful of those)

I take 3 tablespoons of flax/fish oil mix daily.

I have to wonder if the years of chemotherapy caused a problem or if it was there at birth.

Prior to this I did a short course of injectable that got me above 30, so I went back to by mouth and...well this is what it nets me.

@missy I take vit A though my numbers are normal, I take it for other reasons and only minimum amount I can get away with as I don't want buildup. I haven't checked K in a while, couple of years. Vit E is fine. I do take B complex though because my job is stressful and I kinda need it. Its helped me sleep better and have more energy through the day. On K, I was in the low normal range and Von Willebrands is pretty rampant in my family, I have a sister and brother with it.

FAIK both my parents are OK though mom does have to take a blood thinner. And while I don't have the disorder, it can be interesting at times when I have to do labs or give blood. I can sometimes bleed for 24 hours after (small amounts). As a kid I would get random nose bleeds for no reason, and even now it can happen though not as often.

That's interesting @Arcadian as I used to get nosebleeds very often until I started MK4 and MK7 (for my bone health not for nosebleeds) and a side effect was no more nosebleeds! I don't even mention this to my doctors as they don't know much about supplementation or nutrition. I mean I had nosebleeds my whole life til I started MK4 and 7.

Took my (new) white shorts out of the drawer for a first time wear this summer. They have some weird yellow color on them..... What are my shorts fighting in the drawer over the winter???

That happened to my white new towels at my other house. I bleached the heck out of them but they still have a tinge. It made me crazy..
 
I’m desperate so my husband is cutting my hair again. He’s left handed holding a very sharp right handed scissor. I hope he doesn’t cut my blouse.

I am reticent to buy white anything. Lovely and romantic but too much upkeep. I didn't even wear those shorts and they were discolored! Nevermind what I do actually wear!!! Ack!

I buy pretty much all white linens now. I’m a sucker for punishment!
My house dresses better than me! Truth!
 
My husband did a good job cutting my hair. He only cut me once..Not bad!
 
You ladies have inspired me! I was just telling my husband that I need to go get a haircut but meh, I'm lazy. I think I will do the front myself and ask him to do the back, since as has been mentioned, I won't have to look at it anyway! :lol:

The plan was for him to do the back..and I would do the front. He got into it and started moving to the front. He was pacing around me flipping my hair. It was hysterical! He wasn’t even trying to be funny! When he was done he said next time he was never going to use the scissors I gave him to use. I created a monster! :lol:

I watched a few UTube videos and then went for it. It's hair. It grows. It's not a tatoo or a facelift =)2
