I am so over "DM for price." I am interested in a nice vintage watch I saw on an Instagram site, but scrolled on by when I saw "DM for price."
I do the same. If the price isn't listed, I don't ask.

I have never, not once ever, messaged anyone for the price.
If they won't publicly show it, I'm not gonna beg them.
It just seems like a weird price game to me.
Covid has been a bit rough, even with both being fully vaccinated and with Paxlovid and ritonavir prescriptions. I don't even want to think about how this could have gone otherwise.
We went on a trip and took N95 masks for the plane and other close contact situations but then (moronically) decided we didn't really need to bother with them. So here we are.
For me, the worst part by far are the sudden coughing fits where I can't catch my breath. Today seems a little bit better.
Here's what's helped the coughing fits fwiw:
Take Robitussin
When coughing, try to take a deep breath, then cough, so it's more productive and also more controlled (emotionally).
Sleep in a recliner
Drink lots of water
Try a cool mist vaporizer too. That helped me - but I’m in dry Colorado.

My coffee maker picked today to go out. Seriously!? Could be worse. I can use the espresso machine or I can buy a coffee from the stand as I head into town for an appointment. It just.... grrr. Not a good way to start the day when I am still worried and have had no news from the hospital since last night.

Happy rant. Happy because she went home from the hospital last night and tests were all good. Rant because I was up all night and got very little sleep getting a special thing ready to help keep her anxiety under control for a hospital stay. Was told bad symptoms and stuck waiting in hallway for a room in ER. Then they couldn't do the usual tests due to her medical stuff interfering. Then off to a big important test that would say if bad things were happening and serious stuff imminent. And..... nothing. No one freaking updated me again. I ended up asking for an update this morning and then waited an hour to get acknowledged they saw my message. More wait to find out all of the tests were good and they got home before midnight. Thanks.

But he made them a second time, and paying close attention to the ingredients, they turned out perfectly.

Yeah, I did that once too. And I generally know how to read a recipe. At least he tried! Don't discourage him. He may get better!

No, I held my tongue and told him that everybody does this from time to time.
He hardly ever cooks anything, but when he does, I compliment him profusely!
He makes really good posole and green chile stew in the winter.
(Both are local New Mexico specialties)

Ewww ewwww EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW. It's my fault. Procrastination done bit me in my butt today. I noticed some black icky stuff around the detergent dispenser of the washing machine. Took that as a hint it needed cleaning. I nearly fainted at the amount of moldy slime that was in under over on up in the little nooks and crannies (why do they build stuff with hard to clean spaces????). One bottle of spray bleach and 40 minutes later and the black slime was defeated.
Then I decided to run the "drum clean" cycle which I've never done. Instructions said to wipe out the drum after the cycle. Einstein that I'm not said to myself "why would I have to wipe out something that I just ran a clean cycle on?" Ewww ewwww EEEEEEEWWWWWWW. Where did that stuff come from? I don't know what it was and I don't want to know. I also discovered that there's a small thinner gasket behind the big door gasket. I always clean out the stuff that gets caught in the big gasket. When I wiped out the drum and discovered the small gasket, I cleaned that too which is around the time I started fantasizing about jumping off a cliff.
Then, since I was already nauseous and traumatized, I decided to clean the drain filter. Ewww ewwww EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW. Brown gelatinous alien thing exhibiting sentience had taken up residence. Had to sit down and put my head between my legs, deep breaths, searching google for nearest cliff.
Took 90 minutes to complete the task. Reminder is now on my calendar to clean dispenser drawer, drum, and drain once per month.
I told DH I deserve a new piece of jewelry for doing that hideous job and he said "you do" so I'm off to search. I've wanted an evil eye necklace for a while so I'm starting there.

My sympathies @Matata, we just cleaned ours this past weekend. Our drain smelled like rotten eggs, this awful sulfur smell and we have cleaned it not too long ago

I just bought a diamond bezel station necklace so I'm feeling a bit better. Dream of diamonds by the yard tonight @canuk-gal it's waaay more pleasant than black slime dreams

It is truly disgusting! I am horrified to think what it looked like before we had a machine with a cleanable filter.... Yuck! DH does the filter every few weeks. I do the gaskets weekly. The dispenser I need to check again

I have been with the same veterinary surgery, one of two in my town, this one being just around the corner from where I live, since September 2007 when I got my kitty that was about 2.5yo at the time.
I added my late partner's dog later in November 2008 after his sudden death when I decided to keep him as my own.
I also added my new dog in May 2021 after my old dog had died of old age.
My kitty, now 19yo, needed extensive dental work done, and was quoted between 500 to 2k GBP!
I asked if it would be possible to pay in instalments if it is going to be 2k GBP, citing I had been a loyal customer for all these years, and had always paid my bills on demand, and had spent quite a bit of money on my old dog on his teeth alone!
The answer was no to paying in instalments, not made any attempts to ask how many instalments I had in mind (2 would have been fine), citing they had changed management recently.
I am not happy about this, however, there is not a lot I can do but to find a way to find 2k GBP so that she can go ahead with the surgery as quickly as possible.
The upside of this is that, the kind surgical vet performed a pre-op assessment and gave me a more accurate estimate of 1k GBP, and she kindly squeezed her next Tuesday to have the work done.
Sadly, this episode is another case of loyalty does not mean a lot when it comes to money IMHO, hey ho!
