Rerun of the reverse view. It''s a Rene Lalique stomacher brooch from 1900ish, Art Nouveau and gorgeous. Closest I''ll ever get to it! The original is in a the Gubelkenian museum. The tattoo artist copied it absolutely exactly. Took a year and cost more than my first car.

I don''t think I posted on your other thread, but this is the MOST AMAZING TAT I''VE EVER SEEN!!!!

It took me soooo long to decide who I trusted enough to do that tattoo. Benjamin, the artist who did it, had a waiting list of nearly a year. He does some flat out amazing portrait work. I adore it, and get a lot of comments on it- I love it when little old ladies who look like they would prefer to disapprove of it get all interested in it. It is definitely community property... people come up behind me a touch it a lot, which surprised me at first, but I''ve gotten pretty used to it. (I guess people are curious if you can feel tattoos- actually, mine are a smidge raised and you kinda can feel the outline.) Most of my other tattoos- quite a few- are hidden by clothing, except a large art nouveau poppy on my shoulder which goes very well with my back piece.

My husband loves to say "You have boobs on your back. That''s so hot." He''s such a dork.

And by the way, I found your Italy thread a few weeks ago and really enjoyed reading through it - you did a fabulous job documenting everything and the pics were fantastic! Makes me want to travel!!
