Nan just called and they are working on Angello giving IV antibiotics from the GI tube infection and working to maintain his blood pressure. There is medicine to help the fluid in his lungs and the team there is really on top of things, thank god. There are other issues as well, but it''s a step in the right direction. I know she will give you more accurate info on the AM, but wanted you all to now the latest as I know it. Keep the prayers coming please.

Lisa, please pass on our thoughts and good wishes to Nan. I keep checking this thread even though I don''t respond a lot. I hope sweet Angello is better soon...like NOW.

I talked to Nan this morning and I am sure she will report in soon. I think she''s at the hospital by now, it 12:30. I hope he is doing much better today.

Hey all

Poor Angello. He scared me to death yesterday. His lungs were so fluid filled you could hear it sloshing around whenever he breathed or coughed. It was awful.

They just didn''t keep on top of things on the floor. Anytime a post cardiace surgery pt goes all day with a dry diaper; things ain''t good.

It''s like the right hand doesn''t know what the left hand is doing on the floor. And it''s a shame because the hospital is supposed to be top-notch.

WELL ATLEAST THE ICU IS!!!!
They have my baby now and are taking good care of him. With the help of antibiotics, diuretics, and blood pressure medicine they''ll get my man straight.

It''s actually given me more peace of mind to have him there.

So I''m off to the hospital to hang out with my soldier.

Thanks Everyone- the support here is just invaluable.
**Lisa is a complete doll for updating this thread and kicking my *ss every morning, noon and night with encouragement!

It is where he belongs. I am very grateful he is where he is. I send my love, Nan.

prayers continue.
Hang in there real soon he will be rocketing up the road to getting out of there.

I just talked to Nan on the phone. She''s on her way back to the hospital. At least she got a good night''s sleep last night. She sounds in good spirits, and hopefully they can figure out what is causing all the fluid in the little man''s chest. I''m glad he''s in ICU where they watch him like a hawk.

Prayers continuing . . . . .

Sorry to hear about the set back Nan, but it sounds like he is receiving much better care in ICU. We are all still pulling for you and Angello! Thanks to you Lisa for keeping us up to date on things.

Sounds better already - glad you got some rest. We''ll wait for tomorrow''s update - hang in there!

Nan just called and I am sorry to say that they may have to go in on Monday to open up his chest to get out all the fluid that is in his lungs that is putting pressure on Angello''s heart. There is also an infection in the chest wound as well. We got cut off, she was on her cell, but is obviously very scared. His left lung is partially collapsed. I did mention to her that getting the respiratory team involved right now, could alleviate his shortness of breath, etc... I know too much about that stuff, and feel it could be of help to Angello. Please send your biggest prayers right now, we need it. I will give you an update as soon as I get it. He is getting great care, just needs gods help too.

This is terrible news, Lisa. Life is just not fair. Life''s inherent unfairness is not news, but it is really why I am having a lot of trouble believing in God at all. I pray to make myself feel better, and I am praying for Nan and Angello, but I don''t really know who I am praying to. I am not sure that the good "vibes" and love I am "sending" are worth anything, either. I think it was Sartre who said there is no love, only acts of love. You are performing those acts for Nan and she is performing them for Angello. If I can also perform an act of love, I will try to do so. All I can do now is to post and hope that my words will be of some use to you and to Nan during this ordeal.

I do send love.

Deb

Deb,
Just your sending love helps a lot. Whatever works whether it''s good thoughts, vibes etc.... It''s all positive energy.

I''m sorry to hear of the latest develpment, but know that Angello is a fighter and will win this battle! Nan, hang in there...lots of love and prayers coming your way. It sounds like there are many caring nurses and doctors working with you, just hold on and hoping things will take a turn for the better very soon.

Lisa,
Thanks for keeping us updated. You are a very special friend!

Oh, so sad to read this... I can''t imagine what Nan must be going through. Prayers and good thoughts on overdrive now.

I know that this is a real blow, but they will try to do everything they can before they resort to going back in. Just waiting to hear. Thanks for all the kind thoughts, you guys are so amazing. It does help, it really does.
