...I have been away on vacation and I was so sorry to hear that Angello took a turn for the worse but I am so happy to hear he is headed in the healing direction once again.

Nan, I cannot imagine how heart wrenching this is for you. I did experience having a very sick baby in the hospital and I remember how I felt so helpless and scared and how my heart broke looking into my son''s eyes and knowing I could not instantly make it all right for him. It is so hard to stay strong all the time and make sure that everyone is taking the very best care of your baby when you are scared and sleep deprived. Stay strong, take care of yourself and know that you can always draw strength from others when you need it.

I wish you, Angello and your family all the very best and I look forward to hearing of Angello''s continued recovery.

Just got off the phone with Nan. She is still at the hospital, but is sooooo happy that Angello was laughing and talking and full of joy. That is just the best news ever!!!! Goodnight!!!!

How wonderful. There is nothing better than the sound of a child''s laughter. Especially after such an ordeal. Tell Nan we''re all here for her.

Well they are going to go ahead with the procedure to open the incision and drain the fluid; also trying to rid the infected areas.

This will happen in the OR later this afternoon.
Poor boy has to go under again. According to Lisa''s friend this is an excellent step in the right direction.

He was so happy and playful last night. It was nice to see my Angello again.

I talked to Nan a while ago and she said the surgeon explained the procedure and feels that he will do much better once they remove the fluid. She wants to make sure they don''t give him certain medicines that can disagree with him. She is still so happy about how Angello was laughing and playing last night. It''s so good to hear that. They probably won''t take him back until 2:00 or so. It''s all good!!!!

Waiting to hear the outcome and that all is well and Angelo is stable. I told my own son what was happening with Angelo and now he too wants to know what is going on!!

aww, I think having a happier little guy is definitely a good sign!

Sounds like his procedure this afternoon should help him out lots! I hope he continues to improve, Nan.

UPDATE: Angello is back in the PICU, he made it through the surgery. He is back on a ventilator . They did find the exact type of infection and are giving specific antibiotics for that. They will be changing his dressing every hour and watch him carefully. His vitals are good. So far so good.

WHEW. Thank God for your friend Gil, Lisa--and for Nan's nurturing love and all of the skill of those doctors....it's all going to keep getting better for here!!!!


CONTINUED prayers and strength and healing vibes to that strong little Angello! SO glad he was happy and chipper last night--that attitude will be just as important as the antibiotics!! He's such a special trooper

Lots of prayers for Angello and Mom! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quick and he will respond and start getting stronger every day! Tell Nan we are thinking about her.
