I think her little man is going to feel soooo much better after this and that he will make a nice recovery. I know she can''t wait to have him home. But better he get all the care he needs so no more hospitals!!!! I also pray Nan gets some good sleep tonight.

I think we should threaten to picket the hospital if they move him out of the ICU a minute before he is able to return home! This kid has been through way too much! He should be watched over by a team of very particular professionals 24 hours a day this time!!!

Maybe the attorneys among us can draft a letter to the hospital and we can all sign it!!!!

For Angello,

That is too cute buena!!!! Nan has a tummy ache and hope the tea and toast her hubby brought to her helps!!!!

Oh poor Nan! I hope she feels better. Tell her to get as much rest as possible.

Waiting and hoping for more good news.

(The tummy ache might be from all the stress.)

I talked to Nan this morning as she was headed to the hospital. Angello''s wound was left open and she was wondering why. Some questions need to be answered so hopefully they will get answered today. Other than that, that''s all I know. I need to call Gil and ask him what he thinks. I am going to Washington on Thursday and will get to see the little man myself and will carry all the PS well wishes with me.

kaleigh,
it would not be at all unsual for the wound to be left open, especially since there was infection present. i won''t go into the explanation here, but i just wanted you to know it is not unusual. the staff will be happy to explain it to nan, i''m sure.
prayers continue.

I jsut got and encouraging update from the surgeon. (I never got to speak with him yesterday before I went home)

He said things went well yesterday and for Angello to be handling these things: infection and surgery- it''s an excellent indication that his heart repair is very strong. He has good reserves.

The incision is left open and should heal on it''s own. We could be looking at another week in the hospital.
The surgeon also mentioned again about all the scar tissue and that he wouldn''t be surprised if this happened before and was just brewing under the surface.

So- hopefully at last we are on our way to recover.
I''m looking forward to Lisa''s visit on Thursday- what a trooper.

Thank goodness that all went well. What a strong little man you have there. Your family are all strong. Many prayers for a speedy recovery for him. I''m sure you all can''t wait for him to be home.

Glad everything is looking positive, and little Angelo, you, and your family are hanging in there. Hoping for continued good news!

Nan just called and is just on her way to the hospital now. Will give an update as I get it. They had to give him some blood and are giving blood pressure medicine. Also they did more blood cultures, and the infectious disease team is involved, so hopefully all will get worked out. There was a problem in that they had to wait a long time for the blood and the medicines. I hope this is something that won''t happen again.
