OK...... MAJOR strength coming from me right now!!!

What a true little soldier this man is!!! Or as I used to say when I was back home in England "what a trooper"!!

He will be outta there in no time. I love the fight I see in his eyes. Must be from his mum and Lisa as they fight for their diamonds!

Still got you in my heart and head.

Still keeping you both in my thoughts and wishes...

Sorry there has been another setback. Hospitals are notorious for giving patients infections like that. Prayers and hopes continue.

Ugh. Soon soon soon...soon this will all be over and a distant memory...

Solange- I''m sorry to hear that your son was also in the hospital...but I"m glad he''s home now!

This thread is an emotional roller coaster for me. I can''t imagine what it must be like for you and your family.

Good thoughts and prayers

I just talked to Nan and we are praying for a better day today. I hope to report better news and that this infection leaves his body soon!!!! Yes noobie it has been a roller coaster.

prayers continue.

I talked with Nan a while ago while I was out running some errands and she is furious with the Hospital. I asked her to get specific information about these new antibiotics as I can relay that to Gil later today. It''s a viscious circle here. He''s on meds cause he needs them but then can''t get off the vent becuase he is on so many meds. I hope that makes sense to you guys. We have a very fustrated Nan on our hands, but hopefully we can get these questions answered, I gave her a whole list of things to find out and will go from there. I will report back later this afternoon.

Look Up- That''s me!!!!!

Hello all. Angello had his dressing changed and it is improving.
They were too agressive yesterday with trying to get him off the vent.
They weaned down his meds too quickly so he puffed up with fluids and is going through somewhat of a
withdrawal from all the narcotics.

He''s digesting his feeds well, he''s breathing over the vent and his numbers look good.

He is on two Antibiotics to fight these bloody bugs.
I don''t know when they will attempt to wean the vent again. He was just working too hard last night- breathing heavy against all that fluid build up isn''t good for our man.

Anyway- I haven''t gone Postal yet

YET!

Day by Day with our Angello

He is going to be fine and this will all be a distant memory for you.

Don''t know what else I can do but if there is something feel free to ask.

You hang in there my friend.

Anyway- I haven''t gone Postal yet: Day by Day with our Angello
HI:

I appreciate your forbearance Nan--I would have lost it a LONG TIME ago; what a fantastic Mom you are...

cheers--Sharon and Adam

stay strong nan. i think of you and angello everyday and my prayers are with you.

Nan- still thinking of you both!

You are a hero, Nan! There can''t be many with your patience and courage... and they must have been put to test. Glad to hear you and Angelo are so much up to the challenge. I wish I could do more than follow the news on this thread and send my heartfelt good wishes.

Keep that chin up Nan! Things are gonna get better and your sweet child will be home again.

prayers and thoughts your way,

Lori

Just you guys checking in every day and sending your well wishes and vibes, prayers etc, means the world to Nan. I spoke to her earlier and she had a good talk with the surgeon. He explained to her everything that is going on right now. His heart is a little weak due to the infection, but once the infection is gone his heart will pump stronger and will become stronger. It''s a cycle if you will, but one that will be over soon. They are still hoping to get him off the vent tomorrow if all goes well tonight and tomorrow morning. She is leaving to go back to the hospital soon. That''s it for now. You guys have been amazing. Thanks to each and everyone for all your kindness.

The news sounds positive. You hang in there Nan - we''re all pulling for you and your little man!

Nan, you are a shining example of patience and good judgment under the most trying of circumstances (especially waiting to go "postal" until after Angelo is released from the hospital

). And thank God for friends like Lisa. There is nothing more difficult than dealing with your child in distress. I know you will keep your focus on the little guy''s best interests. Everything else can be addressed in good time. Sounds like things are looking up, so that is all to the good. Good thoughts, prayers and best wishes continuing to you, Angelo, and your family.

I just found this thread....tears are streaming down my face and my 3 kids keep asking me what's wrong...

Fervent prayers and wishes that today will be a good day...

Add me to the long list of people who are constantly thinking of you and Angello and check this thread for news of his continued improvement.

God bless you - you are an inspiration to all of us. Such strength, courage, and above all - LOVE....

More prayers for Angello.

Hey, do you remember "Fred the Baker" from Dunkin Donuts?

That''s me coming and going! "Time to make the donuts", and meeting myself at the hospital door, "I''ve already made the donuts."

I keep myself amused with this thought.

The surgeon did help explain things with Angello and why he seems to keep going in this circle.
His heart function in his ventricle is weak which opens him up for infection and fluid overload; and the infection makes his ventricle weak.

so weak heart > infection > weak heart > infection

Angello needs to change the cycle to
No infection > heart becomes stronger to fight the infection and fluid over load. Geez

The whole time we have been at the hospital there is a young couple with a four week old baby who has the same condition as Angello. They are just starting out on this terrifying and exhausting journey.
Angello and Dillon have beds right next to each other and often share the same nurse.
I think Dillion is also dealing with infection and other complications. They just seem to be two peas in a pod.
The two of them are both racing for the door.

Okay, I''ve got it. Tell Angello that I said the new drill is:

No infection > heart becomes stronger to fight the infection and fluid over load. Geez

Easy, right? (If only...)

That reference to time to make the donuts made me laugh so hard. Cause it''s so true. Yes tell that Angello we need to stop this cycle, and no more infections. Dillon sounds like a cutie. I hope they both get the heck out of there soon. Big hugs and kisses to you both. I hope today is a good day.
