The sleeping angel photo is just precious. So glad to hear he''s doing better and it''s great that they''ll let him stay in the step down through the weekend. Prayers continuing and hoping the worst is over.
ooo, i just LOVE pics of babies (and puppies) sleeping. he looks so peaceful and rested. I''m glad he gets to stay in the step down unit until sunday. get some rest yourself too Nan.
I found this thread a little late, but I''ve been following it for the past couple of weeks. I haven''t posted until now, but I just wanted to say that I have kept you and Angello in my thoughts and prayers. I''m so glad that he is doing better!
Hopefully, soon this will all just be an unpleasant memory...
I talked to Nan earlier and Angello was throwing up, so they are stopping his feeds for a bit. I don''t know anything more. She had to get off the phone as he was fussy. I hope he feels better soon.
Oh poor Angello, he keeps throwing up, not sure why just yet. It could be that the feeds were set too high. His heart is weak and that''s because of his past infections, so they are giving some good heart medicines. Nan is tired too. All will be fine, just a rough patch. I wish I could tell you more, but that''s all I have for now. We are in the home stretch here so keep those good thoughts coming and prayers too. Thanks guys!!!!!
Angello is still in the step-down unit and will remain there for a bit. (Thank God)
He''s just very fragile right now. The vomiting needs to be controlled and they aren''t sure why he''s doing that.
His fluids are an issue too because his heart function is so weak he needs help keeping the fluid off.
He is in very good spirits- he laughs and smiles. What a joy.
They are changing his dressing today on his wound and IF (a big IF) things look good they may discontinue the vac dressing.
We''ll see.
Poor thing we are coming up on the 5 week marker. (I never thought he''d be in here this long; about as long as his first surgery)
He''s such a trooper. I brought in the kids (being the four younger sibs) yesterday. He enjoyed seeing them.
It did get a little crazy thought. Orion kept running out of the room. YIKES. I got some nice dirty looks from the nurses in the "other" unit. Oh Well- Angello was happy!
Aw, the poor baby. I''m glad the other kids got to come see him. I''m hoping that this is just a quick little setback and that the sweet boy is feeling much better soon.
I don't know what to say. This is one of those, "All we can do is pray" moments. I am so sorry that things have gone wrong yet again. As a mother, I cannot feel unwavering optimism when my child is sick. I hope the prayers of all and the skill of the doctors heal Angello and soothe you as much as you can be soothed.
