My vote is for the top design. It's bold and really highlights the different shapes. The buttercup looks almost like you're trying to hide the shape of the step cut.

It’s like a doubly distracting ring. Would be twice as hard to get any work done wearing it. I mean, bling and color play together. So kinda works in any lighting right?
