My husband thanks all of you for ruining his dream of one day being able to afford a large scale baby goat farm hahahahaha!
ummmm…. YOU’RE WELCOME!

My husband thanks all of you for ruining his dream of one day being able to afford a large scale baby goat farm hahahahaha!
In my mind there are no baby goats on the table! If he thinks we can’t have nice things now because of our kids, imagine if we had kids?!
I see what you did there
Hehehehehe sometimes I can be funny! But mostly I run on anxiety and trauma which is a different kind of funny LOL!
You do not travel alone my friend![]()
Alex Park![]()
That's not who I thought it was. We weren't working with the same vendor after all.![]()
Congrats!!! I'm so so so excited that she's everything you were hoping for!![]()
Is it just me, or is she similar to Maxine? Chaotic about sums it up. I'm learning to get used to and appreciate that in Maxine.
Maxine is a very different cut than this one! This is a classic OEC with very short lower halves which is why it has big pie shape facets under the table. Maxine is an early transitional with longer lower halves hence fat arrows!
What you feel is similar is the relatively “poor” optical symmetry which lends a bit of chaos to the patterns, and also both have very chunky facets under the table but for slightly different reasons.
Both gorgeous but different flavours of old cut IMO.
Hmmmm….. this makes me wonder if we both gravitate towards the same type of oec. I called her Grace. She was “the one” before she sold and I found Flora.
I’m finally starting to understand what you’re looking at now. And you’re right, it does make a huge difference being able to see them in person. They’re also very different than any of the lab OECs I’ve seen in person.
Lab OECs don’t capture the chaos very well and they are cut quickly and by computer generated patterns. Your diamond was cut by a master 150 years ago following the line of the rough and trying to do the best cut possible using his eyes and very rudimentary hand saws and other tools. And every single one is unique! Bo shade on lab diamonds, I appreciate them too. But these old treasures are pretty special.
Goodness gracious! Is that a diamond or a golf ball?! My lordt, I just died! Did you call her Grace because only by the grace of god could you lift such a big stone??? Beautiful!!!
… Shreve Crump and Low made the replica of an antique Edwardian ring that sold 15 yrs ago… she was a 6.5ct KVS2 oec and I loved her. She was beautiful. Someone bought just the center stone… and get this, made a three stone with her
I tried to buy the setting they left behind, but the pave work must not have been the best because it had dropped several stones…. And they still wanted $10k for just the setting .., I noticed they never relisted the setting with a new stone lol.
I have pics of the setting if you liked it and need inspiration- just let me know.
I’m not sure I have any words!!! WOW!!!
I think I’m going to start with a halo like this picture - I like that it’s very delicate and feminine. I really like that the halo isn’t “connected” and seems to orbit the stoneI just imagine this look would have a soft, glimmer finish that would compliment my stone.

Who did you think it was? Or can you say?

I started my search with OWD. The videos look very similar.
Ah, yes! When I did my searches on their site they came up a little pricier so I ruled them out early on. Luckily, @peppermintpatty went back to the beginning of last year on Alex’s IG posts and found this stone that seemingly wasn’t spoken for so I asked Alex! Very surprised it hadn’t sold, as was he![]()
OMG that oval!!! Serious drool!
I think I should be ok for now in the DS department - I truly love my larger lab and get the feels when I wear herI really debated on go larger with the OEC but I knew I wanted to do something other than a solitaire and while I love the large look it’s just not me. I do love to see everyone else’s large and in charge beauties!!! Maybe one day when I’m retired I’ll be this fabulous woman who has pink hair and the largest bling possible with a larger than life get up! I’ll be loud, even more outspoken and upsetting the patriarchy hahahaha! The vision in my head is fabulous

It gives me goosebumps thinking about this stone being hand cut so many moons ago! My first engagement ring, from my ex husband, was an OEC. It was small but mighty! I stared at that diamond all day long, the setting divine too, from CD Peacock - I still think about that ring and where it is or if the stone is still in its setting. I wonder what this diamond’s story is…
I’ve decided to name her Aurelia![]()
Wow, how lucky that it was posted so long ago and still available!!
I feel the same about antique/vintage stones!
Did you ask Alex if he knew anything about the origins of your stone? Like what setting it was in? I asked Sako about mine, but he said he bought it loose. I like that Maxine comes in the setting, it's like seeing a glimpse into its past. I imagine it was an heirloom stone reset in the 80's, but I'm not an expert on dating setting styles. When my boyfriend heard it came from a pawn shop in Las Vegas, he said that probably someone pawned their late mother's ring for some quick gambling money, and that thought makes me so sad.![]()
