Hm. I don't know what to put, since I didn't have a formal proposal.
We just starting talking about marriage from almost the beginning, and when he had the money we went to go buy my rings. That was Nov of 1999 and we picked up the rings in Dec. However, I wasn't able to openly wear my rings with my parents for another few months. So, I guess December would be my choice?

August 13, 1995. My BF and I had just attended my 60th family reunion. On the drive back to my parents' house, he said, "So, you want to get married?" I know, romantic he ain't. However, I figured that any guy who could meet 300 of my closest relatives and still propose was a definite "keeper."

P.S. We had only met three weeks earlier. I said YES!!!! A lot of fun and two kids later and we are still together. Love at first sight is not a myth.

Hmmmm.. this is a very interesting poll! It looks to me that a lot of guys start out the brand new year by proposing to their sweetie, but most of the guys wait until the last of the year and finally buckle down and ask the question! Heehee! Just my quick observation
