Mahenge spinel is set - Finally I have a Leon Mege ring

The ring turned out great AN. Working with Leon with a spinel like that I can not inagine how it could not have. You did IMO really well and I am sure it will garner plenty of attention even from across the room. Congrats I was watching Gemshopping the other day. They were selling a spinel of similar size and color for 8500 dollars a ct.

Stunning! I like the butterfly detail, so delicate looking!

I LOVE practically all of Leon's pieces. The man is truly the master!

Would you mind if I asked you something: Could you possibly share the cost of the Leon setting, perhaps a ball park figure? If you don't feel comfortable sharing, it's absolutely ok. I paid over $5k for him to set my diamond pear (also in an Adriana btw) and would love to have him set one of my new lovelies from Mastercutgems, probably the green tourmaline but am not sure if it's worthwhile spending all that much money on one of my gemstones which are relatively inexpensive.

What an amazing design. I really like the colour of the spinel.

It''s beautiful! He does awesome work.

Stunning! I can''t wait to see more photos.

What a beautiful ring! Absolutely love it--please take more pictures!

AN,
Here''s to the first of many Leon lovelies! I''m flattered that you chose to have the split shank unify into one. That was a tweak I had Leon make. Again, congratulations!

Oh, it''s just beautiful AN, truly. And that color is just yummilicious!

You have such pretty stuff, great taste. Congrats!

Had to come admire your ring again, and dream of the day I have a Leon of my own to share!

I LOVE the color of that SPINEL! And Leon did such a great job with the setting. It looks stunning on your hand. More hand shots please!

Thank you everyone for your nice comments. I agree Leon did a great job on the setting. It makes the stone ''pop''.

CMW: I am glad you like my ring. It means a lot coming from you as you are a color stone expert. The spinel does ''glow'' from afar. I have not tested it for fluorescence, but I bet it does. I am shocked at $8500 per carat on Gem Shopping network. Is anyone buying?

Little Monster: The source of the spinel is Pala International

Sleepyspinel: I posted pictures of the spinel in an earlier thread. I wish I can take close up pictures of gems as well as you do, but I can''t. All I know is using the ''macro'' mode.

Pheonix: The setting price was between $5 to $6,000. When I asked for a quote on the basic Adrianna, it was much less. But the labor cost went up considerably when I added curve split shank and custom basket. I tried negotiating, but Leon won''t budge. He did design a unique basket for me, so I am happy to pay extra for it.

Harriet: I hope there will be more LM rings for me in the future. I have to wait until I can afford another one. I already have a project in mind.

Asscher Girl and Beacon: I will definitely bring this ring to our next GTG. Hope there will be one soon.
