Martini CAD''s are in!

hehehe! We have needs.

The prongs..I don''t think I''ll be any help. I''ve never seen claw prongs IRL, just pics on here. The rings I have all are regular prongs, and on my 3 stone, which has the biggest stones, I can barely see them. I don''t know how much bigger claws would be. Tho I think they look fricken awesome, so that''s what I would vote for.

CAD''s look great!

I told him packrat, he laughed and said he would work on it.

There is only one detail I am unsure of and I''d like opinions. I''d like to know if you all think I should stick with the claw prongs on the sides or use rounded little prongs like the picture below. I''m sort of thinking maybe the claw prongs cover too much stone and I can''t put my finger on it...but in my inspiration ring pictures it seems like you barely see any prong on the side stones?
Well how big are the side stones? I think if they are very small you will see more prong. If they are medium then I''d go with the claw prongs. Maybe ask them to show you a mock up of each?

They are .30 and .31cts. I think I''m ok with it now. Was just temporarily being panicky.

Claw prongs for sure - i think CADs are so big, and even my own macro photos make the prongs look REALLY pronounced. IRL, however, i never notice prongs at all -- i just pulled out all my rings, and the truth is the prongs are TEENY - TINY. I like the look of the claw prongs!

+1 on the claw prongs, they make it more dramatic!

Chrono-I''m not sure why he included a closed basket design. I think he was just showing me. The lettering design I am doing is going to be an open basket with the lettering overlaid on it.

Indy-I struggled between which way to go and in the end I just liked the way the 3 prong looked better. It is however slightly less secure.

SH-Thanks! JbEG is making this for me.

BN-Thanks! I think so too. How is your Sholdt coming along?

Thank you everyone for the kind comments!

Hi stepcutgirl! This is a very late response to your thread. You had asked how my Sholdt setting was coming along... I decided against going with the Sholdt. My favorite was the semi-bezel with the tiny channel set diamonds and I couldn''t get past my fear that a bezel setting would darken my stone. So, the search continues!

I''m really looking forward to hearing/seeing the latest re. your gorgeous setting!

Stepcutnut, its a fabulous design and the stones are fantastic. I love the martini setting, the flow of it, and the initials as you have described them, the secret stone, I love those, fun!

It is going to be a stunning ring, congratulations!

Thanks everyone! I am so excited! We should have the finished ring this week and the proposal soon after!
