We''ve been looking for months. It was on the market 3 days and there were 6 offers. We got it because we offered them $1000 more than their asking price and we''re willing to let the currrent owners live there until their new house is finished in February. Pics are from the realtor. It''s perfect for us. The location is important because it''s spitting distance to the hospital and FI''s office.

This is the back.

Oh Matata, that is just a fabulous house, congratulations!!!!!!

I love it!! I love newish modern looking houses and yours fits the bill, I also love how they decorated the house, and that great room is swoonable! Where do you live, what city/state? That house around here would be really expensive..BOO. Maybe one day! Enjoy!

It''s beautiful...and looks like you can move in and make it ''home'' very quickly. Your flexibility paif off....kudos to you . You deserve it.

Congrats!! I hope you will be happy there for many years to come.

I live in Medford, Oregon and we got the house for under $450,000!!!!!!! It''s a miracle.... The yard is so private, it''s not necessary to have window coverings -- except in the bedroom cause I need it dark to sleep. The current owner is also the builder and he could have gotten waaaay more for the place. It''s in perfect condition.

I nearly dropped over when I saw the $5500 dcs stove in the kitchen....can''t wait to cook on that baby.

Oh my god we are SO in the wrong state!!!

I had an old friend who lived in Medford...I like that area of Oregon since it seemed to have similar weather patterns to us here in the BayArea though a bit more cold in the winter. But not alot of tech out there!! Darn.

oh WOW!! That is GORGEOUS house! congratulations!

Mara....we''re getting more tech in all the time but I have no idea what the pay is..likely not as high as the Bay Area. I''m really sad about leaving my garden eventho I''m quadrupling the yard space. I''m so attached to everything I planted. And I know I get to start over fresh, but I really want to dig up everything and take it with me....they''re my babies.

I would take your favorites with you, I did that at my last place even though I knew they'd be potted for 5-7 years...aka my famous hydrangea which I could not leave behind!! I also gave some plants to family members, because I was too paranoid about the next person in the house not taking care of my stuff. Get attached much?!

But new yard=new ideas and new plants!! So alot of fun..!

We talk all the time about other areas we can go to live...my big thing is the weather and the diversity that we have here in the BayArea...and the only other place I really felt that was in NYC though in Texas there was tons of great diversity and I loved it...but the weather?!

We joke around because Greg's fam is in the EC and he'd love to be closer, so we were looking at North Carolina, aka Triangle area with tech and bio, where the houses are 2500 sq ft for $350k. I said wow look we could have this huge brand-new 4 bedroom house on a 1/2 acre and we could put more than 60% for the DP.

The possibilities?! If only we could take friends and family and weather with us too.

Greg says, who are you kidding, we're never leaving.

Congratulations! Your house is beautiful.

WOW!!! It is perfect!!!

Congratulations!!

Wow, what a lovely house! The first thing i noticed was the floors! I love hard wood! Have any pics of the bathrooms? lol The bathroom is what sells a house in my opinion! hehe

Sorry Jelly, no bathroom pics. They did the entire house in varying shades of taupe, creames, & soft greens. The master bath is done is soft creames & pale brown tile. No jetted tub, just a shower. I honestly can''t remember what the 2nd bath on the first floor looks like

and the bath upstairs is a variation of the master and it has a skylight. I love the hardwood floors too. The master is carpeted and I''m thinking of extending the wood floor into there.

With the hot tub in the backyard, you really don''t need a jetted tub anyway.

How old is the house? If the carpet in the bedroom is still new, I''d wait a few years before tearing it up and adding the hardwood floors.

Wow, those windows! I''m so impressed!

Hello, Matata, your new home is gorgeous.....definately worth the wait!! Don''t know if Mara has ever thought of the Atlanta area to relocate to, but you should check out my sister''s house up for sale here, about 40 min. south of Atlanta, to see what you can get for the $ here. Go to Opendoorhomes.com & do the quick search under MLS #1755443.....sorry I''m not a "techie" & don''t know how to do a link......

Oh I love house pictures and it is always fun to see what homes look like in other parts of the country! Great home Matata - congratulations!!! You must be SO excited.

Thanks for thinking of me koko but Atlanta is probably not in our cards...I've done some tradeshows there in the past and I was not a fan of the HEAT. Part of my problem is that after being born and raised in the SF Bayarea, I am very heat intolerant but also cold intolerant as well. Greg says I have a '2 degree range of temperature happiness'. Otherwise I am too cold or too hot.

Matata,

It is beautiful. It is the kind of house my husband loves. He would call it a, "clean" house. Our house, which is fairly old, has rooms that "need" upgrading. (They "need" it if one wants to have a fresh, new-looking home, that is!) My husband doesn''t realize that houses cannot look as "clean" (no matter what the nature of the housekeeping) if the fixtures and wood are cracked!
