I''ve finally received the mint green/blue asscher tourmaline from Precision Gem! It took a while to arrive, most probably due to flight cancellations following recent volcanic ash scare. After waiting for more than two weeks, I was beginning to get worried that the package might have got lost in the post.... but it all turned out well in the end.

The stone weighs 2.06ct & measures 7.12mm.
It''s a bit lighter toned/pastel coloured & mintier (to my eyes) than the vendor pic - & I really love it!

Without further ado, here are the pics.

I seemed to be having difficulty capturing green... the stone (as well as the customs declaration label) IRL is a bit more green than the image shown here.

Another pic, taken by the window, with lots of morning sunlight coming through.
The colour of the stone is pretty much stable in any lighting conditions.

Here is the vendor pic, which I think looks a bit darker (to my eyes) than IRL. But then again, a lot of my pics came out like the vendor pic...

This one also came out darker than the actual colour of the stone..
Nevertheless, it shows perfectly formed facets.

You''re doing pretty good! I was trying to photograph a few green gems last night.

Green does not cooperate too well with most cameras.

Very pretty, it looks kind of glowy! I''m usually not into minty shades, but this one is really something.

Thanks ma re! I'm so glad you like it!
I also think it's got a bit of a glowy look to it - it's also a very bright stone.

brandy_z28, have you got some green goodies that you are hiding from us?

I love this! Drooled over it in Gene''s update . . . glad to see RL pics!

That''s stunning. What a great color! What are you going to do with it?

It''s lovely--I think the asscher shape is perfect for that stone.

The colour is soooooooo pretty!

In the face down photo, what''s happening in the top left corner? Is it just some fluff on the stone?

It is beautiful! Great color!!

Thanks BEG, kittybean, LD & kribbie!

BEG - this one will eventually be set in a ring, but it''ll have to wait for a while, as I''ve already got a couple of ring projects going...
That said, any suggestions on ring designs for this little asscher are welcome (as I haven''t got a clue how to set an asscher..)!

LD - Yes, the top left hand corner of the stone is covered in bits of fluff... the stone is loop clean (according to Gene).

Great cut and colour.

WOW....I love this one...please come back with more photos!!!

That is just minty-goodness. Congrats - can''t wait to see it set.

Thank you for your compliments, oddoneout, lori, yingh, TL, Laila, Chictomato, marcyc, Uppy and HotPozzum!

TL - Here are a couple of shots of the blue spinel & the mint tourmaline. It''s a pretty drab day, so my spinel came out a bit darker than real life...

Thanks VR,
Now I''m really super duper jealous.

For a blue spinel, it''s really nice, and the mint color on the asscher is very bright, and it''s screaming "bezel me!!!"

Some very nice stones you have there!
