Thanks VR,

Now I''m really super duper jealous.

For a blue spinel, it''s really nice, and the mint color on the asscher is very bright, and it''s screaming ''bezel me!!!''

Some very nice stones you have there!

Errr, I am even more jealous of your vast collection of beautiful gems!

Do you think I should bezel the mint asscher? (sounds like a fantastic idea, btw). In YG or WG?

Thank you Vigor, but I'm still jealous that your first two stones are so amazing. You should have seen what I bought when I first started collecting.

I would do it in 14K YG. I'm getting a 14K YG halo for my mint Afghan tourmaline. I'll post photos soon. I think the yellow gold actually helps bring out the blue color in these gems (even if they're more on the green side).

I love the side by side shot; at least your spinel will never black out and neither will the tourmaline. The tourmaline definitely can do with a bezel.

wowie zowie!

Love the new pics! I''m hoping to have a mint asscher later this summer..

LD, TL, Chrono, VL, MTG & everyone else- Thanks for the kind words! It's so reassuring to know that the fellow PSers (with so much more knowledge than me) approve my stones. (omg, I sound so insecure!

TL - Your Afghan tourmaline is lovely & I can't wait to see it set! I can totally see that YG works well with the mint colour.

Chrono - Yes, I'm so happy that the two stones won't black out on me... (I've got a ring with a dark inky Sapphire - bought pre-PS naturally.. & it's driving me nuts!)

VL - 'wowie zowie': is this another of your reference to a fab 60s song? (A quick googling showed a Frank Zappa song??)

MTG - Look forward to lots of pics when you get your mint asscher in summer.

Beautiful stone virgoruby, can''t wait to see what you do with it.

WOW those are both stunning stones. Great cuts and colors!! I admit I am a bit jealous....the pear is calling my name...maybe someday I''ll get a twin of it. Be sure to post when you get them set! TFS!!

Lovinggems, Stone Hunter and Kunzite - thanks so much for your compliments!

I''ll probably get the mint asscher bezel set in YG (brushed satin finish), though this will have to wait for a while, as I''ve got too many projects going on at the moment... I will post lots pics if/when it''s set.

Absolutely beautiful. Somehow, these minty blue green asscher tourmalines just elude me, they are so hard to get my hands on!
