Mom2boys and Diamondseeker's GTG 2014!

I just love seeing lower colored big emerald cuts. Now I seriously want a K-L jumbo one for myself. But the big marquise and the emerald 3 stone just stole my heart. Sigh. Thanks for posting ladies! :wavey:

Oh what fun! I agree that your own collections shine the brightest of all. Love the DBTY, the aqua, the bangle, the tank - and everything else too!!! Thank you so much for sharing!

Next up is a 5 ct marquise, J-K color, (@ $50k)

Oh my sparkly goodness, that marquise has single handedly changed my mind about not liking them. It's yummy.

I'd be happy to do another GTG! The little town is unusual in that it was a place where long ago old money built spectacular second homes for the summer in the mountains. So the little shops cater to the very wealthy, and regular people like me just enjoy the view! Some of the jewelry is consignment and some is new. Last year we went again later in the summer (my in-laws have a modest cabin there), and my favorite store had more people shopping. There were women with 3-5 ct diamond studs in each ear and you can imagine their rings! So people watching is quite fascinating there in itself! This store holds auctions in the summer, and it is so entertaining to watch people pick up jewelry, art, oriental rugs, porcelain, etc. for souvenirs. How nice just to buy what you like and not be concerned with the price tags! One thing I really love is seeing lovely older women likely in their 70's still enjoying shopping for jewels! I see what they have on and can only imagine what their jewelry boxes hold! I hope to still enjoy my jewelry hobby at that point, too!

I am glad everyone has enjoyed the pictures! It is fun for us to share them!

This looks like the BEST PLAYDATE EVER! How much fun! Such beautiful jewels and great pics for inspiration! Thanks for sharing! :loopy:

MINE EYES! That emerald cut. Perfection. :appl:

What a fun time you gals must have had! That store is awesome for letting you photograph all their items; thank you for sharing your gorgeous pieces and all the bedazzlin' lovelies!

What a fun thread and what a fun day! I would have loved to see that 8ct honker, I don't think I have ever touched such a large diamond!

But I agree with everyone else that your collections are JUST as impressive or MORE impressive than anything in those stores!

Your AVC ring was the most beautiful ring I saw that day without a doubt!   I am now worried I will think a 2.5 ct one is too small after adjusting to the size of yours! ;(

I thought that might happen :Up_to_something:

By the way, your Vatch is so pretty and fluid. I don't think I really noticed it before, maybe I did not look at profile shots much. It looks lovely with the french cut band. I have seen Demelzas french cut eternity and it was so pretty and delicate, and I could appreciate the cut style. It looked nice with an old cut for sure.

Its not fair > I want I need. Oh I guess I should just be happy for both of you but ............ :angryfire: jealous.

The larger EC was actually 11 carats!!! It was huge! But 8 carats is rather large as well! No worries on my DSS because I can't afford to go over3 cts! That is what halos are for, I suppose!

Thanks about the Vatche! It is a very nicely made setting! I still struggle with the idea of finding a simple antique style setting, but the Vatche works so well with almost any bands. I loved her french cut band. I'd like one just a little wider so it would look different than the Legacy band which is the same width.

I'm glad you had fun and thanks for sharing the great pictures! And I love your AVC halo ring! :wavey:

Abso-fantabu-liciousness!!! Amazing jewelry and wonderful photography!
