Has anyone dealt with George Smith (muzoemeralds on IG)? I’ve been sending messages and emails and haven’t had any luck yet. He has an amazing page but I find it difficult to do business with a vendor that doesn’t respond.
Is there a password I don’t know?
Someone did buy a gem from George, and I must admit, he has the most gorgeous emeralds I've seen on IG, besides BG stones. However, I think she got a chipped gem, so we have to make sure that is true. I think if you search the forum, you may see the thread. I think he gave her a discount, if I remember correctly AFTER the stone got to her. She was afraid of the huge hassle of returning it to Columbia.
JR has some nice stones, but I really love BG and Muzoemeralds. Maybe others can make some recommendations.
Was this Atwater's stone, T L? I've been drooling over that beauty. In fact, after seeing it, I decided it was time for a new one. lol You crazy bunch of enablers.
I honestly don't remember. I would search the forum.
Yes, we're bad
T L, asking for your expert opinion. I asked about a no-oil Muzo emerald. Top color (old mine) but There is a small open fissure around the girdle from the pavilion. Good clarity otherwise from the table. Is it worth paying a premium for a no oil stone with a fissure like this? Sorry no photos with me right now.I honestly don't remember. I would search the forum.

He has always been super responsive and nice. Maybe reach out to him again?

I would also be very apprehensive about anyone offering an “old mine” stone, especially with high clarity and no treatment. You could expect to pay several tens of thousands per carat for such a stone. You may be able to afford that, but I would only go with the best and most reputable emerald dealers for such a top stone. And never ever expect less than two highly reputable full lab reports in this case.
Yes!!! AGLDoes it have a reputable lab report?
I know you were specifically asking T L, and she's more than capable of handling this one on her own. But I was just curious if you have a photo of the fissure? For me, it wouldn't be an issue of clarity as much as I would just be concerned with the integrity and durability of the stone.
Thank you for responding! I get what you are saying. Most of the muzo emeralds I saw were included in comparison to chivor ones. Maybe that’s why most are clarity enhanced. I will try to find the photo once I get my kids to sleep.

Yes, it is my emerald. I was of course very upset with the chip. But I liked the stone very much and decided to keep it.Oh ok, hopefully it's not that one then. I recall her being really pleased with it!

And yes, I am really happy with the finished ring; it is far from perfect, but I love it
Am I doing something wrong? He is completely ignoring me for no apparent reason…
Welcome to the world of Instagram!! That’s why I avoid it like the plague. Some dealers are decent, but overall, it’s an annoying place to shop. Of the few times I wasn’t ignored, I offered to buy a stone from someone once, she told me she would send me an invoice and ended up selling it to someone else. I actually prefer a cart/checkout process like Etsy or eBay. Instagram to me, is just a gallery. I also hate seeing gems that are “for sale” when they’ve already been sold. They have no incentive to have good customer service as there is no accountability or rating system.
Sorry about the rant…
Honestly don't think I will ever lose my IG buying virginity. As tempted as I could be by the right stone. As someone else put it in a thread with a this topic, I'm not that desperate. It makes me wonder if I should never post an IG vendor to an interested buyer here on PS (even with cautioning them, and with the vendor having a good reputation).
