Congratulations on your engagement. I like the bottom row middle ring, but I also like the top row middle ring as well.

That is a sweet stone!

I like top row middle and right. Who is the vendor?

Lol Lovinggems, thanks but I''m not engaged yet, BF still needs to get the setting, get the spinel set and propose

Lady Disdain, thanks

The pictures are a mix of setting from ID Jewelery and Sun Jewelery. Top line left and bottom line middle are Sun, the rest are ID.

Heres a quick mockup with Barrys indoor photo.

Beautiful stone!!

That lilac is so lovely, but even better that it changes to a lovely blue as well! What a beauty!

Have you tried on any settings like the ones you have picked out?

I love your Spinel MissDayna but must warn you that Barry''s gems are like potato chips, you can''t have just one! Your pictures came out lovely and of all the pretty ring settings you''ve chosen two from the top row get my vote: the middle and the one on the right. In all honesty I can''t imagine this gem looking anything less than spectacular in whatever setting you choose!

Thanks gwendolyn and Chicago!

I haven''t tried on any settings yet, will have to venture into town at some point but I don''t have much hope of finding anything, most of the jewellery shops over here are chain stores with very little choice sadly

I just know I''m going to love this stone no matter what setting I put it in, I''m loving it so much even when it''s just sitting in the box

. And Chicago you are so right - this is not going to be my last Barry stone at all, no way hehe.

Very pretty stone. The color is just beautiful.

I think that stone would be fine for a halo, it does not seem to dark for me. I also like the middle ring in the top row.

Oh wow! that is one yummy stone!

MissD,
I''d wait to see the stone in person before making any plans. Sometimes, when you see it, you know just the right setting for it right away. The other thing is I''d like to see your pictures before making any recomemndation. Just for added information, what is your finger size and the dimensions of the spinel?

What a beautiful stone. I can''t wait to see what setting you chose.
Barry does an awesome job of cutting stones.

Ok.. I''m in
30.gif
with the halo look and the three stone look pear sides,,, They look gorgeous and look very proprportioned well from the pictures anyways I''m so excited to see your ering transformation

Very lovely!

Ooh that''s YUMMY - I love Barry''s stones, every time I see a new one, I''m even more tempted to get one (or several!) - the color on that is just stunning

I need to stay out of here..I come in here to drool over your gorgeous stone and it just makes me sooo antsy for Barry to email me and tell me he found some rough..argh! I like the top middle too, in the settings you posted, but I agree that it would look phenomenal in whatever you put it in!

It looks very pretty. I can''t wait to see your photos. I liked the ring in the middle of the bottom row without the gems in them but once you put the gems in them I like the one in the middle of the top row.

I pick top right!

Thank you for all the new lovely comments everyone!

Chrono - I have got the stone and did post photos, I''m not sure what you meant by waiting to see it in person and seeing my pictures?
33.gif
My finger size is about a 6.5 I think, and the spinel is 6.4mm

D&T - The sides in the top right setting are trillions because I wanted them for my ering before I fell in love with a Royal Crown replica and decided on a solitaire. Although you have put the idea of pear sides into my head now so I''m going to hunt down a setting with them to see what it might look like!

Here''s a couple more pictures I took today, hopefully showing off some of the different colours I see a bit better

first, looking a bit steely blue

more purple

this is quite close to the nice lilac I see alot of the time indoors

and finally looking quite cold and bluish

Oh, thanks for the pictures. I think I only saw Barry’s pictures. Either that or I’m getting senile.

I do like halos but since it is a colour shifter, I would keep it in a more open setting to allow the light to play with the spinel. For some bling, I’d either do some micropave in the shank (single or split is your choice) because I wouldn’t want side diamonds to compete with the spinel. Then again, spinels are very bright and sparkly gemstones so some small sidestones might not hurt either.

It helps if I actually remember to attach the picture!
I too would love to bezel my spinel but the PSers have advised against it.

So my favorite settings that you posted are the bottom middle and then the bottom left. The top middle looks ver ering ish to me. But of course I don''t know what your ering setting looks like and that''s something I''d take into consideration. I don''t want all of my rings to end up looking the same.

What a gorgeous stone!! I love the middle and right settings on the top - gorgeous!!!

Love the color!!!!!

Chrono - thanks for the tip about not putting it in a halo. I hadn''t really given much thought to how the lack of light might affect the colour shift, I was just worried about whether or not it might be too dark if I bezeled it.

Stone Hunter, my ering is just going to be a plain solitaire, here''a a pic of it
1.gif
that''s why I wanted some bling for this spinel, so it''s different to what my ering will be like. Do you have a pic of your spinel?

Geckodani and princessplease - thanks!

oohh.. is this the vatche royal crown... you''re going to put that baby in?

one of my other favorite setting, its a gorgeous one too!

I love the vatche setting the best. Your spinel is absolutely stunning. I need one of these...

D&T and mochi - the RC replica is the setting I''m using for my ering spinel from Dan Stair. I absolutely love the side profile of it, which is what caught my eye about the bottom left setting in my collage, as I think it looks a bit like (although maybe thats just me)

Thanks for the addtional pictures.

As for setting I think that Chrono is right -- don''t limit the light going into the stone.

Personally I''d love to see your ering Spinel next to this one -- any shots of that? As for my photos I''ll get them up today, we finally had sun.
