Thank you for the kind words about Peachy. I think she may be the "one". I will be posting more pics, so I hope you guys won''t get tired of it. I haven''t been this excited since I married my hubby and took home my two playful yellow labs. I had the same feeling about them too! LOL

EricaR, Steph72276, Deelight, Tuckins1, Bee and MsCushion, thank you! I will definitely post more pics once she''s set.

Fly Girl, thank you! I didn''t expect the color changes at all. In real life, during daytime, it looks more like a lemony peach. But at night, it looks more pinkish peach. At first, I was thinking about doing a completely different setting that enhances the stone, but I''m still sentimental about the original setting that hubby proposed with. Hence, the pendant idea. Hmmm....

Tlh, thank you! Happy New Years to you as well! Lovely avatar by the way. You are right, I was busy staring and taking pics of Peachy than watching the ball drop at 12:00 a.m.

Catmom, thank you! I''ve been drooling at your rings for a while now

HeartingDiamonds, thank you! I think I finally found the stone that could possible cure my "wandering eye". At least for a while...those ACA stones from Whiteflash sure are yummy! You have some beautiful pieces by the way.

Vespergirl, thank you! No offense taken at all. I did a bit of research about colored diamonds, especially those with the orange and pink hues. There is NO WAY I could ever afford a "true pink". Even if I had the means, my husband and I would prefer to invest in other practical things like buying a bigger house, new car, go on vacations, etc. The trick with buying an affordable colored stone is to look for modifiers like gray or brown. Those colors are not as desirable as the true intense or vivid pinks, greens, yellows, oranges, blues, reds and purples.

There are a lot of gray and brown stones with pink or orange hues that are gorgeous...without the hefty pricetag. It seems that if a colored stone has more than 50% of a brown or gray modifier, they see the gray or brown as the dominant color, not the pink or orange. Mine was graded "Peachy Gray", hence the gray modifier (or dominant hue). But it has a peachy tone. But if it was a "Grayish Peach", the color would probably be more intense....but a true peach (pink and orange) is more rare, hence the jump in price tags.

Also, be open to shapes other than the standard round. And be more forgiving with inclusions...as long as the stone is eye clean most of the time, it will not be an issue since the color is the main attraction. So unpopular shape + unpopular dominant color + unpopular clarity = bargain. If you look hard enough and you are open to adjusting your criteria, you WILL find the colored stone that you want.

As far as how much Peachy set us back financially, it didn''t. We saved for three years. My stone would be comparable to a 1.7 to 2 carat J SI2 SuperIdeal from any of these online vendors.

Canuk-gal, MrsV and Skippy123, thank you! I''ve also been admiring your beauties

Steel, thank you! For sentimental reasons, I wanted to keep my original setting. With the pendant for my H, I can still wear it at the same time. But you are right...a girl does need options...Hmmm....

BigDiamonds, Coatimundi, Oneandahalfrock and Mommy2iz, thank you!

Kay, thank you! The pictures you posted of your ring and your daughter are priceless. Were they professionally done? Your marquis is stunning, by the way!

Ms.Claudia, thank you! Your rings are to die for!

Dianne, thank you! I have never head of a cleftless heart either until I started searching for fancy colors and shapes. I am not a fan of the heart shape, but the cleftless heart reminds me more of a pudgy pear, which I like. But it is unique both in color and shape, like I wanted. And to be able to get the size that I wanted in our budget....I grabbed her before it was too late. And I am soo glad I did.

your new diamond is so unique and lovely. if you don''t mind me asking, how did you go about finding a loose colored diamond?

Hi Aggie, thank you
1.gif
. I searched all over the internet for a colored diamond. You can find them at fancydiamonds.net, icestore.com, diamonsbylauren.com and Ebay (as long as you do your research on the sellers first). Ebay has great bargains on colored gemstones! Just make sure that the seller offers a refund option in case you need to return it for whatever reason.

What a gorgeous colour. It''s amazing and I love it!

I''m looking forward to seeing it set, and I hope you enjoy it! It''s going to stop traffic when you wear it out!

i love your precious peach... congrats, its awesome

Wow! I''ve never seen any like your stone, she is Gorgeous!!!!

Oh, what a cool rock! The colors are just amazing!!! I''ve got my 8-year-old daughter here staring at your peach precious...and I think I just created another rock hound. She''s blown away how one stone can look so different in the various lighting conditions. She said "That looks like a really rare stone, and it''s really cool!"

Oh WOW that is just beautiful! Can''t wait to see it set!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!

LtlFirecracker, MrsMitchell, Addy, Geckodani, Joflier and DiamondDana, thank you!!!! It''s nice to know that I''m not the only one who notices how unique Peachy is. I know she''s not everyone''s cup of tea, but at least she gives exposure to the small population of colored, cleftless heart and pudgy pear shapes.

Trishy, thank you, your post cracked me up!!!
face20.gif
I will take your request as a HUGE compliment

Please help yourself to all of Peachy''s plumpy goodness. Thank you for reassuring me that I am not the only one hearing things. "Take more pics of me! Clean me again! Take me outside! Show me off to Pricescope! What else did they say about me??? More pics!!" I feel like saying, "Yes maam...right away, your peachiness...".

Amazinglywonderful and WinksElf, thank you! Winkself, Wow, I''m honored that your daughter thinks Peachy is "rare and cool"
emembarrassed.gif
As someone new to colored diamonds, I am right there with her with being blown away. I did not expect for her to have so much character and color variations. I think it''s wonderful that your daughter is taking an interest in gemstones at an early age! I''ve had a fascination for gemstones, especially diamonds, since I was about her age too. Isn''t it amazing how you can be holding, on your finger, something that is a billions years old? And will continue to preserve itself long after we are gone?? Sorry, got a little carried away there
emotion-15.gif

Lovely avatar, by the way!

I thought I''d post a pic of my current H. I used the larger channel set band on top of the e-ring to hold myself over until the upgrade. WHEW!!! I''m so glad the wait is over!!!
