What a splendid colour! Freke might want to borrow that stone to match her avatar shoes.

You can hardly go wrong with such a stone, how ever you decide to set it, but I''d seriously think about an antique style setting, with a lacy feel and a lot of small diamonds whose whiteness would bring out the color of sapphire even more (think openwork, details, edwardian style). The stone isn''t large so a halo could dwarf it and minimize it''s beauty, while side stones (although pretty) might not be "white enough" to bring out that vivid blue.

I guess you''ll have to try some things out to see what works best for you.

Wow the colour.

I agree with mr ma re and TL that an antique style setting might be lovely but as the sapphire is only ickle, it needs a bit of framing to make it sit well on my finger.

How about this as a temporary solution so that at least I can wear it until the perfect setting shows up?

I''m not a fan of temp settings, but if you can''t wait that long it''s just fine

I agree. My sapphire is in a "temp setting" and has been in one for almost 2 years now. I have no idea when I am going to reset it....gotta stop buying new stones first. All my new stones now sit until I can afford the setting I want.

Well, I''ve just won this from LOGR so this will be the temporary setting now! I thought that it''d be more open and let light into the sapphire so hopefully it will retain the gorgeous colour without darkening it.

Funny, that one looks quite a lot like what I suggested the real setting to be
