hey diamondseeker! i was just about to purchase the 2nd diamond that you posted for me but i guess it was sold already!! damn! lolz.

can you recommened me another diamond(s)?

Unfortunately there are tons of lurkers on here and stones need to be reserved quickly once the recommendations are made.

I''d really recommend going with the first one I posted (the H VS2). H in ideal cut will be very white, and that one was a little larger in diameter than the others. I honestly posted all the G-H VS2''s that I thought were close to your budget and were ideal cut stones. If you want to drop to SI1, then I can look again. But if it was me, I''d go with the H VS2 I listed first. My diamonds are H, by the way, and I am very happy with them.

Really, it has an almost perfect cut:

i dont want to drop down to an SI1. ill save your 1st choice as my plan B if i cant find anything else. Thanks so much for your help w/ this newbie :D

Keep us posted and if you like it reserve it while you think about it - BN can do that for you!

now im in between diamonds! i cant decide between the signature ideal cut that you posted, and 1st choice that diamondseeker posted.

i guess the main deciding factor is how big of a difference it would make to an unaided eye between those 2 diamonds. Because my girlfriend doesnt know anything about diamond quality, so all that matters to her is that it looks pretty lolz.

So what do you guys think?

btw i cannot tell you how much you guys are helping me out! thanks so much for your patience, we''re getting close! thank you so so much!

oh and here are the 2 diamonds:

I would go for the H VS2 as I prefer the proportions and you wouldn't notice any difference between the colour grades.

ETA - I think this is the one DS posted, not the G...In that case both are great diamonds, depends on which you prefer but both would be great looking rocks!

We are very happy to be able to help you! Naturally I love the stone Lorelei linked. The choice is a higher color versus a little larger stone. That will all depend on what you value most. With stones in this size range, my tendency would be to choose the one that is slightly larger since every little bit counts! I don''t think you''d see the difference in the G and H color. But you can''t go wrong with either one! (Just decide before they disappear!)

Well, I would have chosen the G if it had been the .34, but then it would have probably been out of our budget range!

Incidentally, signature ideal cut does NOT mean better than ideal cut!!! It''s just a term they use for in-house stones. No worries...the other stone is just as good!

Baloney, this is the diamond you linked that you thought DS had suggested when you posted your two final contenders, and this isn''t the one, so I wouldn''t choose it as it isn''t well cut.

I am not sure, unless he prefers ex ex for polish and symmetry on paper instead of vg ex - but he could pick either and be delighted, he can''t go wrong with either!

LOL!! No worries!!

Ok lets go through each. Both are very well cut. Both would probably look similar for personality and performance.

The round ideal is a tad bigger. It has no fluorescence. It has very good polish and excellent symmetry. Cheaper at $444

The Sig Ideal is a little smaller. It has medium blue fluorescence which can be a bonus in an H if you like the idea of fluoro. It has ex ex for polish and symmetry ( not something you could see with the naked eye but some prefer ex ex on paper). More expensive at $485

So it depends on what you value more, you could pick the bigger one and spend a bit less!

Seriously, go for the .34 H VS2. They are going to look IDENTICAL in appearance except one is a TINY bit bigger than the other!!!

(But Lorelei did a perfect summary, and I totally agree!!!!)

Of course, it is a Holiday today! I forgot!

I just made my 1st fine jewelery purchase!

i went w/ the regular Ideal H/VS2 that DS posted.

Bought that along w/ an 18k White Gold, 2.5mm comfort-fit 4-prong setting for $325.

I found a handy coupon code online that took 10% off the setting so the grand total came out to be $736.50!

Again, thank you so much Lorelei and DS

. I cannot believe how helpful you guys were in my very 1st purchase of fine jewelery. I''ll be sure to post up pictures as soon as i get the ring! It should arrive next tuesday the 27th.

P.S. Forgot to mention that this ring is meant to be a promise ring :D i know, i know, it seems kind of grand for a promise ring, but i dont care
