I WANNA PLAY!

Can I at least reveal if someone is right?

Whoops! You can now

Oh I was originally going to have them engrave the setting with a simple wheat pattern but in the end decided not to. I''m glad I didn''t - I like the simplicity and lines of the ring.

love the setting!

Thanks Karee! I fell in love with that setting in the spring/early summer but didn''t have anything to set in it. I was considering resetting my Jeff White blue-green tourmaline into it but never got around to it...and then this stone turned up!

Really? That''d be awesome! And you''ll be arriving as it starts to warm up and get beautiful - good timing!

The setting is from Windy City Jewelers in Jewelers Row. They''re fantastic - I go to them to get my gems set, but this is the first time I''ve bought a setting from them. They''re just great to work with, and not pushy at all, which I appreciate.

I got to see this setting when I was in the store last time, and I fell in love. Sadly, too expensive for now!

I really thought it was a spinel... you threw me off by mentioning ''Freke''!! The setting is beautiful also!

LMAO! I''m a spinel crazy woman, I know...

BEG -- If you don''t mind me asking, how much do they charge to set? And how long does it take? I might stop by after my interview. :)

Ooooooo that''s a hunky setting. I like it a lot!

Very pretty stone. Lovely susbstantial setting. They did a fabulous job setting it, in particular because zircons are softer stones. Congratulations BEG.

Except that it''s a tourmaline.

You ring this beautiful, and I LOVE your stone. I would have guessed a zircon, but I''d have been wrong. Thanks for sharing!

BEG, that tourmaline is beautiful!!!! Looks lovely on your hand!

WOW....WHAT A BEAUTY....I LOVE IT!!!!

GOOD LUCK!!! I hope you get it!

They usually charge me around $50-$60 to set (I''ve taken them LOGR settings, etc. before, and they do a great job). They actually also set my Lotus ring - I had Sally make the setting and mail it to me. Just to set, it usually takes a couple days - not much longer than 3. For this project, it took a week since they had to order the setting for me.

To tell the truth, I really think they need to update their office. I went to them because they''re rated by CitySearch or something as Chicago''s #1 recommended jeweler (Dimend Scaasi being another) but their office just kind of looks...meh. Not that great. But I''m glad I stuck with them, because they''ve done a great job on setting my stuff, and their prices are so reasonable for some of the settings!

Aww haha I totally didn't mean to! Though I can see why many of you guessed spinel too - it gets a bit darker indoors where I was taking the pictures. Outside in the shade - wow! Seriously, walked into people staring at it!

And thanks! I love your new ACS stone by the way! Just a delicate peachy pink

Thanks Gemgirl! I wasn''t too sure about the euroshank - never had a ring with it before, but it''s really comfortable. And definitely no spin or anything so it all worked out

Thanks TL! It is a tourmaline but you''re right, they did do a great job! It''s a little different from my other rings - the way the prongs were built, it gives a slightly squareish look to the ring, which is actually really interesting

Thank you AustenNut! It does remind me a bit of a Finewater zircon I got a while back (returned it since I don''t like Portuguese cuts, but the color was just stunning).
