LOL, next time I''m feeling bad about myself I''m posting pics here!!! You guys are really good ego-boosters!

I''m 99% sure today that I''m keeping the bag. It''s just so darn cute and I think I''ll be able to use it for a long time. But my next handbag purchase will definitely be more thoroughly researched and will not be made in China!

Monnie - I am glad you took a weekend to think things over, as making decisions in the heat of the moment can lead to regret. At the very least, this experience has made you more aware of the social implications of making purchases. The fact that you will thoroughly research your next purchase is admirable and perhaps others on the fence may follow suit.

Thanks for your response, Neatfreak. Don''t worry, I didn''t think you were ranting, just sharing knowledge with a little emotion, lol! Your post was very informative, definitely telling of the other side of the story.

Kim/Slim...hee hee...I saw you were in the market for a watch on the WWT, how fun! Dh has given me ''budgets'' before and I always end up supplementing with my own money. Not saying that''s what you should do, but it seems really tough to find something you love that is the exact amount you''ve agreed to spend. And yes, that feeling of not wanting to suffer from buyers'' remorse is something I''m very familiar with. Make sure when you''re looking at Movados you talk the jeweler/seller down at least 25-30% off retail, typically that''s the discount given. So when you''re researching online and looking at actual retail prices take that into account as well, if that makes sense.

Mara, thanks for the compliments on the bag and body, ha ha! You may notice I''m doing my one leg in front of the other pose so as to make my hips appear a little slimmer, I think I do that every time a photo of me is taken and I didn''t even realize until after I posted these that I was doing it while taking photos of myself!

You''recracking me up, monnie. I ended up being $200 under budget on the watch! I love the Movados but I really wanted a watch that went from day to night and the Movados I loved all seemed like evening watches to me.

I''m glad you''re keeping the bag, it''s gorgeous!

Kimberly, which watch did you end up buying?

I ended up getting a Seiko Grand Sport. I took a few pictures, they''re in my b-day thread.

How''s the Burberry bag this morning?

Monnie, I am super excited you are keeping the bag; it is super cute! I think it is the perfect size for you. I love the pink and light blue ones too, but the one you picked is very classic!

Kimberly, your new Seiko is gorgeous!!! I found the pics in your b-day thread and it looks great on you! I''m a Seiko lover, both my parents always had Seikos and gave me one for my 16th b-day, I actually still have it, I just need to have the darn battery changed one of these days! I had a gold toned one given to me by an ex BF in college that was beautiful but I couldn''t stand wearing it so I gave it to my mom, it''s really beautiful, the bracelet is this beautiful looking woven bamboo type thing and she just loves it. Good thing it got put to good use! Mom still has her very first Seiko stashed away in its original red velvety fabric box, it''s so delicate and I love looking at it sometimes when I visit...it has that safety chain on the clasp which makes it seem so dainty and lovely.

Great b-day gift your DH got for you, congrats again, it is perfect for you and so beautiful and looks fabulous on your little wrist!

Skippy, thanks! I do really like it, in fact I''ve been visiting the B.berry website a ton this week in search of the perfect scarf to complement the bag and my fave ivory coat...I think I will go with the red cashmere one with the little embroidered "burberry" on it...but that''s definitely a purchase to be made after I secure an actual J.O.B.! And upon being hired wherever, I''m totally buying a Speedy 30, although I can''t decide if I''m a mono girl or a Damier girl! We''ll see!

Totally off topic, but how are your teeth and the J.O.B. hunt going?

My teeth are great, thanks! The whole process so far hasn''t been bad at all, and I actually don''t even mind wearing the braces...even after adjustments they don''t have me in much pain or anything.

I have just finished a phone interview and have a "real" interview scheduled for next Tuesday with an independent B&M jeweler! Yay!!! I am crossing my fingers that it works out, the hours are perfect and the location is nice, and obviously I would be working in an environment centering on my favorite things in the world!

Congrats on your interview, you will have to keep us informed!

I''m so glad your mouth/teeth are doing well! And an interview...what excitement!

Thanks Omie and Kimberly! I''m very excited, I''m trying to get an appointment with a new hairdresser in the salon my friend manages so I will be in tip-top shape appearance wise for this interview. It''s been a couple months since I had my hair colored/cut so I''m due, plus I think the better you feel about your outward appearance going into an interview you''re really excited about can make a difference in how you carry yourself and how the interviewer perceives you. I''ve been waiting a long time for an opportunity like this and I really hope I get this position. When I did my phone interview the store manager noted that I hadn''t worked in the jewelry industry for almost 9 years, and I commented that I''d kept abreast of the trends and had been self-educating for the past two years by being a member of an online community...he had never heard of PS. I also told him I was interested in obtaining my G.G. cert/degree through distance education and he seemed to like the sound of that, sooooo...hopefully I can prove to him during the actual interview that I have a lot to offer.

Question: would you wear open toed shoes with a suit for this type of interview? I''m not talking sandals, I''m thinking of a peep toe slingback or pump that is on the conservative side. I''m asking because I don''t have a pair of great black heels and it is SO hot here, I''m wearing a black pantsuit with a long sleeved white button down blouse and I would really like to at least have some A/C going on in my footwear. Or should I just count on suffering and wear close-toed black pumps? TIA!

Hi there Monnie! Confidence and personality are key traits that will make or break you during the interview. From your resume and phone conversation, they are definitely interested and have an idea of your skill set. The next step will be to put all of the pieces together and assess whether you are a good fit for the team. So yes, I agree, that doing anything you can to exude confidence and professionalism is smart. Regarding your shoes, if the "peep" in the toe is not large, I say go for them. It sounds like the rest of your attire is conservative, so that should not be a problem. If you were interviewing in a conservative environment, say a law firm, I would say go with closed toe shoes, but that does not seem the case for you.

Good luck!

I think you''ll be just fine in peep toes, especially in this type of environment. Your outfit sounds conservative enough and the shoes will add a bit of flare, which is important in the world of retail.

I love your new bag! (and forget about China, someone is thrilled to be working. My FIL works in China helping them create jobs).

Fingers crossed and positive vibes going your way for the interview too.

Thanks everyone, B.berry bag and peep toes it is!!!

Fingers and toes crossed for your interview tomorrow!

Monnie, I am sure you''ll be wonderful tomorrow. Be sure to post as soon as you get home and let us know you got the job!

I am crossing my fingers and toes. Also, you know so much so I am sure you will do fantastic!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Well, I don''t know yet if I got the position, but the interview went really, really well. I spoke with the owner, his wife, and the store manager for over an hour and they were all super nice and seemed very interested in me. It is super hot today, but thanks to A/C I managed not to break a sweat before I went in...I felt like a million bucks in my suit and new bag and I was determined not to wilt. So, I will let you know the outcome as soon as I find out!

very cute bag...and my fingers are crossed for your job too!!!

Wow, I love your bag. It''s a great size and it looks good on you. Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job. Once you get it, you get your Lockit.

Thanks Jewels! I went on a second interview today and apparently I won''t find out until Tuesday next week if I have the position or not, but I''m very confident that they will offer it to me, they seem very interested. I also have a thread going in Hangout, titled "Need Fairy Dust for job interview tomorrow" or something...I replied to it as soon as I got home from the 2nd interview today, saying that I''m very excited about this position and really hope I get it. One of the reasons being, they mentioned they would be interested in reimbursing me for my GIA training to get my G.G., so that was really cool.

Yay....Lockit, here I come! Or Speedy, or Sac Plat, or MiniLin Ebene Speedy, or all of the above, plus wallets, Oh jeez, I need to stop reading TPF! LOL!

Hey Skippy, I am unsure at this point if I''ll be able to go to CS...it all depends on whether I get the job I''m after or not, and whether they will agree to letting me have the time off. We''re supposed to fly out on Thursday evening, which would mean I''d miss part of the day Thursday, all of Friday and Saturday. Sooo, once I find out more with the job situation I will know. Great memory, though! I really hope I get to go, plus I''d feel bad if DH had to go by himself. I''ve gone to weddings before without him when he''s had to travel for work or something, and it''s not as much fun when your spouse isn''t there with you.
