Yes I’ve tried both next to the stone and both look good. I honestly think white metal will look better but I’ve got so much white already. Especially in sapphires.

I plan to set my recently acquired sapphire in YG but I agree WG or platinum is better for this stone, especially with the D color diamonds you got. Every stone has its own needs.

Got myself an Easter pressie this evening - jeweller finished my ring way ahead of schedule!

Will post some daylight pics tomorrow but even in my dimly lit hallway at night it’s looking soooo BLUE.

Was definitely the right call to get it set on platinum so thanks very much to those who advised me to go in that direction.

I’m wondering whether I should get the prongs made a little shorter. I asked for single prongs but for the bench to make absolutely sure the stone would be secure, given I intend to wear it a lot. Maybe they went a bit overboard?

Beautiful! The prongs are a little long, but you risk losing the stone if they’re too short. I think shorter double prongs would be another option, and secure as well. However, the ring is beautiful, and no one that sees it is going to notice long prongs because they’ll be mesmerized with that beautiful sapphire and those gorgeous diamonds.
