Marcy, Marcy, you''re always so positive.

Off to attempt picture-taking in daylight...

I try to be. It makes my days so much more pleasant.

I''ll bet it does. Two women almost got into an argument before a mellow yoga class on Monday.

Tsavorite; Kenya; 5.05ct.

This gem is not new, but I finally got an almost decent picture of it.

Handshot of the Rubellite.

C''est tout.

Handshot of the Rubellite.

Um, you are right. It does look rather like something out of an Easter egg on your hand. But in a necklace, now, that would be something. Centre stone, or are you planning on finding an even larger one?

You''ve emerged from your lair! Crikey, that stone is big enough for a centre stone.

Love the new photos. Great stones and colors.

Thanks! Can you give me pointers on shooting tsavorites? Mine are medium-darks, and the camera can''t capture the rich green flashes.

I''m in awe of your collection, Harriet! Gorgeous new stones. Can''t wait to see what you do with them... especially the Mahenges and blue spinel. Very interesting info about the blue spinel - how wonderful is that to have something so unique and rare.

Being the spinel fanatic I am I just can not help but keep coming back to this thread to drool. That blue is like no other I have seen anywhere. Amazing!!!!! Of course those Mahenges make quite the pair also. When you get the time, please post more pictures.

Nothing against the chrysoberyl or demantoid but as you well know...

Harriet I love the new avatar.

From you, that's high praise indeed.

Chrysoberyl and demantoid? I thought it was titanite that gave you headaches.

All of them are so beautiful.

I see my earlier post got wiped out. I just want to go on the record saying these are all marvelous, beautiful gems. Actually, I just revisited the spectacular radiating blue spinel... almost makes me want to cry! Hummm, I wonder, does it have a sibling... ?

Thank you, Y2kitty.

Rockit, thanks. I did catch your earlier, kind, words. If only the blue had a twin ... Game for a trip to Vietnam? :naughty:

Marcy, would you mind reposting your phototaking tip?

Oh, Harriet. Your post has me longing for something new...

Your gems are amazing - love the colors! They seem to glow, particularly in the group shot. The blue spinel is absolutely incredible. Thanks for sharing your recent acquisitions :-)

Get something! Hope everything's alright. Haven't 'seen' you around in a bit.

Harriet, I just noticed you changed your avatar and had to come back to see the big version of your group photo - WOW!!!! I'm just absolutely in LOVE with your rare blue spinel!

Love your new aviator!

I want different angle/lighting of each stone, please please please...

All your new stones are pretty and I am overwhelmed. Above all, that blue spinel is to die for!

Thanks, girls.

Yingh,
I'll see what I can do, which is honestly not much where it comes to photography.
