for the past three weeks. Fave places right now are on top of the fridge, under the desk, in a cupboard, wardrobe, under beds etc. Having five they tend to squabble for squatters rights. Hope it cools off soon, we don't generally have air conditioning in houses here. Thanks for all the great pics of your precious babies keep them coming! By the way what is your cat's favourite treat? Mine love HAM

Hehehehehe. Great stories and kitty cats!

Here is Prince Vincent....''worthless human....you spent a lot of money on this bedding, didn''t you? Suits me just fine it does''.

MMM do I spy Prince Vincent reclining on a LAURA ASHLEY bedspread????? I thought I recognised that design??? I am sure it does suit him fine!!! I have a silk beaded LA bedspread which is fab and I am terrified to use it because of scratching claws, weepy eyes(persian problem) p--py butts etc
6.gif
Silly me buying it in ivory!!! I just know they are plotting and planning how to get to it, I caught one of them on it the other day ( not on the bed) and felt so mean prising them off. I suppose CATS LOVE LUXURY and a plain old comforter isn''t good enough for them, not in our houses obviously!!
9.gif

AND ANOTHER THOUGHT CAT MOTHERS while I am enjoying this thread. Who also has silly nicknames for their cats? Mine very rarely get called by their actual names
6.gif
I will risk my very sensible reputation and start this by saying we call one of ours Panties because his pants are very "panty". Ok folks, yes Lorelei has finally lost it!!!!!
31.gif
31.gif
Come on MMM fess up you must have silly names for yours too
9.gif
Bright Spot, FFF, Cinnabar, Kmom care to join me??? Good thing he is an indoor cat, can you imagine the neighbours while calling him in yelling" PANTIES"??

One of our cat''s vet name is Charlotte, her home name is Binky, another''s vet name is Emily, at home we call her The Grinch and the third cat''s vet name is Jonathan, at home we call him Snorkelmouse. For no particular reason. Sometimes the names just come. Another name for cats (in general) is "smileyfaceypants" : ) Like, the question that could be asked is "do you have any smileyfaceypants?"

Happy Monday to all : )

Bridget

Another cat pants lover!!!! I love smileyfaceypants!!! Brilliant! You are right the names just come, true inspiration like Snorkelmouse OMG
36.gif

LOL. That is too funny!!!
I call Scotty Scootter Muffin Pants or Scooteroo most of the time
I call Gracie My Little Pretty Princess
Vinny is Vintu or Topo Gigo ... but what''s more disturbing is the baby talk language I use with him LOLOL... What a loser I am!

That BSpread is by the Chandler Collection Lorelei....Thanks! I found the couple of pieces at a discount store for very cheap and then I loved it so much I contacted the manufacturer and bought some pieces from their retail stores and bit the bullet and paid full price which was grossly overpriced but I loved it.... The cats love the quilt for some reason (I also have the duvet that''s not quilted but it''s the same fabric)... They don''t claw but the hair, the HAIR!
6.gif
The chandler collection might make some items for laura ashley. I know they make some stuff for pottery barn too...nice quality!

As for treats, Gracie doesn''t eat ... she loves typical cat treats.
Vinny loves spaghetti sauce (so that''s why I called him Vinny) and Scotty.... he eats absolutely anything and everything. He doesn''t care what it is. He eats it. LOL

Pants again - so funny!!! Yes I use baby talk too, they love it and DH just shakes his head in despair, but I often catch him doing it too! They all have their own songs which I sing to them
6.gif
and they also love it if I play the piano for them - they start rolling and purring! It''s adorable
9.gif
I think my craziest nickname has to be Ponkapankaneeks for one of my little guys
11.gif
They love it when I play " scales and arpeggios" from the Aristocats or twinkle twinkle little star
36.gif

MMM, I just love your kitties and that face on Scotty is just the picture of love and contentment.

Kmom, I can''t wait to see your new furbaby!

Lorelei, had to laugh as my furriest one has taken to sleeping on top of the air conditioner vents. Guess he likes that cold air on his hot belly. Also, I admit my cats are never called by their real names, either. My knicknames are pretty tame compaired to everyone elses. Godiva, my one male cat is known mostly as "The Boy" or "Boyser", otherwise he''s called "Diver". My oldest cat, Zoe, rules the roost with an iron paw. If she walks by all other cats are down on their backs in supplication. Mostly she''s known, affectionately of course, as "Bi*ch Kitty". In public we call her "ZoBo". Phantom was supposed to be our sleek black panther kitty. Hmm....didn''t last long and now she''s known as "Fat Fannie" or "Fanny Mae" [after the chocolates]. Comet is "Commie" and CocoBan is "Cokey". As for favorite treats, Commie, Fat Fanny and "ZoBo" are addicted to Wiskas Temtations. Especially Commie. It''s like she''s on crack or something. If she even thinks you are going into the kitchen she is there and howling by where we keep them. It doesn''t matter if she has been fed one minute earlier. If someone accidently walks by where they are kept, watch out! Then of course the other two have to come running behind her to get some too. Zoe also likes to eat bread insides, not the crusts, though!

Here is a shot of two of the feral kitties that we are sending to their new home today. We are really going to miss these guys. They are the most playful, fun kitties and have to do everything together. That includes using the box, one can''t go without the other. It''s the funniest thing to see.

What beautiful beasties! And the tiger looks like he hasn''t grown into all that fur LOL

Oh those kittens

Kitty nicknames!
Katie - Katie Cat, Kitty Kitty, Cutie Cat, Fat Cat
Sammy - Sammy Girl, Baby, Baby Girl, Sweetie Sam, Cutie Girl

Such sweet cats everyone!! Keep them coming!

Yes, a perpetual bump for the kitties please!

Lorelei, I''m curious about what you said about weeping eyes. This new furbaby appears to constantly be crying, and not only that, but sneezing and spraying her sneezes everywhere! The original owner wasn''t sure what that was about (I saw her at church yesterday and metnioned it), but she appears very healthy otherwise. Hence names for consideration include Teardrop, Rusty (for the light tinge of rust colored fur on the tips of her otherwise black fur), GTO (my DH''s wisea$$ suggestion since he said he wants a car since I snuck in the cat
11.gif
29.gif
BOY wat he mad!), and Pudding. She is thought to be half persian calico. Are the weepy eyes a persian thing?

My other cat, Missy, will have nothing to do with this new kitten. NOTHING. Her attitude is like, hey, this is MY house, what the hell are you doing here? Hisssssssssssss!
11.gif

The first day & a half, she slept on my sheepskin rug on the hearth. she barely moved. Now she''s everywhere, and has now advanced herself to my son''s bed, on his blanket, under his blanket, on his pillow, I mean, she is taking over!
6.gif

I''m off to get a picture or two of her now. I shall return...

OK can someone please refresh my memory on how to upload pics. Seems I completely forgot cuz it's not working..............
33.gif

Edited to add: Never mind... I got it.

Here you go!

Kmom, she''s adorable!!!
30.gif
I especialy like the furry belly pics. I''m a sucker for furry bellies -- and the scars on my face prove it
1.gif

Aaaaaaah, the furry bellies.
emcat.gif
Matata, she was comfortably lounging on my son''s bed on his favorite Yankee blankie!
9.gif
I wanted some contrast for the picture so I took her back to the sheepskin rug. After posing sleepily (weepy eyes and all) she casually turned over to pose for the furry belly shots. Gotta love those kitties. I saw DH sneaking a pet to her fuzzy head the other day. He desperately tried to hate her on that first day.
29.gif
11.gif
Boy was he mad at me!
29.gif
I let it go for a couple of days, let him process things and now, well sneaking a pet to her head...WHATTAYOUTHINK? Hehe, I think he''s softening.
12.gif

Oh Kmom, what a sweet and precious kitty. Isn''t it funny how they can take over your house so quickly. I love her!
30.gif

Of course he''s softening -- no one who is even slightly susceptible to the "cute factor" is capable of resisting a kitten. If the furry belly doesn''t get you, the purring will. Won''t be long before she has him wrapped around her little paw. She''ll sneak up on him when he''s napping, curl up on him, start purring, he''ll wake up and know he''s defeated.
2.gif

Yes Kamuelamom, weeping eyes are very common in Persians. The cause is the shape of the skull ( brachiocephalic!!!) the front of the skull can be very flat, so the eyeballs protrude out of the eye sockets and the tears can''t drain properly, so they run outside of the eye. I manage mine with damp cotton wool, carefully wiping away from the eye. If this kitten is sneezing as well it sounds like it could be a viral infection, hopefully not cat flu, I have had this with mine when they were babies. I would get your vet to check her out, just to be safe. If she is part Persian the weepy eyes might be a long term thing, but it depends on the type of Persian she has. One of my Persians looks just like Mr Jinx from Meet the Parents, he is indentical and never has this problem, I think they are called Himalayans in the States, but it is the Siamese in the breed helps to elongate the face. Ooooh the new kitty sounds lovely!! I bet Missy will adopt her soon and they will be cuddling and inseparable!!

Lorelei, thanks for the explanation. I think it must be a cold since she is not flat-faced like a Himalayan at all so I don't think it's her skull shape. And though I'm told she's "half calico" and I paid a whopping $20 for her
6.gif
(only cuz I knew this family and wanted to help them out-they have 8 kids
6.gif
6.gif
) I really wouldn't have spent money for an otherwise "wild" or "stray" cat
20.gif
but she does have a very sweet disposition (as you know not all cats do) and is very very tame. I really don't think her mix of breed is worth much since they really didn't know the make up of neither the father or the mother. It's anybody's guess but she is furry and beautiful. Yeah, I'm a sucker for a cute furball, what can I say.

I woke up in the middle of the night last night when I rolled over onto the other side of my pillow and landed on kitty belly fur. Chloe was on the corner of my pillow, so I slept on kitty fur for a few hours after that. purrrrrr

I got a few more pictures of her, despite her fraidy nature.

Here''s her favorite hiding place, though DUH - we can SEE you...

underthebed.jpg

so I got in her face...(those red things are her rubber claw covers...looks like she's wearing nail polish..hehehe)

in my face.jpg

she went to stalk some prey on the balcony...I love those cow spots on her back

stalking prey.jpg

Last one - here she is looking regal...you''d never know she makes herself scarce under the bed 23 out of 24 hours of the day!

gotcha.jpg

FG - What a GORGEOUS cat! Question - do those claw covers stay on well? After a bad experience with Sammy''s declawing, I''m never going to declaw a cat again.

K-Mom - Pretty soon your kitten will be snoozing in your DHs lap! My cats LOVE my husband way more than they love me! I hope she gets over the cold soon.

Sammy just mewed at me to jump on my lap - Prrrrreow!! She wanted to see all the new kitties!
