Oh, thanks guys! They would be happy to bonk heads too
They are truly adorable. Very needy, very social, very talkative. Great cats. Never once scratched or bit..out of maliciousness, that is! But they do bite affectionately and do scratch when they are kneading me and BF prior to a snugglefest.
Catmom - I didn''t realize their personality was because they were torti, that is interesting!
We actually got them via a listserv I belong to. We had just decided we wanted two cats when I got an email saying, this woman had been walking past this construction site in Columbia Heights (in DC) and heard this meowing from within. She broke through the fencing and went to the noises. There she found the two angels--little baby kittens, abandoned!
She grabbed them and took them home, but found she was allergic. So she wanted to give them away but keep them together. That''s where we came in
That was almost 3 years ago. Today, Daphne is still very little and weighs just about 5 lbs. I thought she was anorexic or diabetic or something but the vet assured me she is perfectly healthy, just dainty. Clio is like twice her size but still small, maybe 8-9 lbs. They really are great cats, good companions.
Some other fun things: Clio loves to hang out in the bathtub and play with water, we actually have to keep their water dish there because if not she will just splash all the water out all over the place with her paws. She loves to drink directly out of the faucet and has even jumped into the shower on occaison when one of us is in there. She''s crazy like that. Daphne loves her fishing pole toy and likes to carry one end around in her mouth and prance all over the apartment with it. Very cute.
