Im just wondering if any of you LIW are concidering a NON traditional wedding dress? Meaning a color OTHER then the traditional white, ivory, or champagne? If so please post pics of what your dream dress would be! Id like either a deep red like a red wine color or a very light blue.

Oooh, I like the idea of a light blue....

I am def going to have a "non-traditional" dress in the sense of style, not necessairly color. I want something sleek and sexy bc we are eloping. I haven''t considered a colored dress but I do like this dress with a blue sash... I would probably like it even more if it had a sweetheart neckline...
Which dress has caught your eye?

If I could I''d probably do bright blue. As a compromise I''d do silver/silver gray.

Musey found it. Pretty much exactly what I would want ideally.

Freke, that dress is amazing!! Where is it from??? I never thought about silver, but now I am!

Here you go CrookedRock. Badgley Mischka gown

I'll post my original inspirations...

I love the style on the top right, but would love it more if it were in silver(like Lindsay Lohan's dress). And even though the one she posted had a sweetheart neckline instead of a V-I love it!

This what was Musey saw that influenced her posting it:

Ooh crooked that is a hot mama dress!!!

Freke I loooove the pleats in that dress! So pretty!

We are going to elope too!
I''m pretty open to colors. I kinds of think a pale yellow would be really pretty.

LOL! So bad, but that''s kinda what I am going for!

Freke! I am in love with that dress! When you posted that is was a Bagdley, I was scared to click on it. But OMG it is totally reasonable! I really want to try it on! Thanks for sharing it!

This is not completely ''non traditional'' but heres one of my favorites!

*Im not sure i like all the detail at the bottom on the front, but i love the dramatic color flare in the back* I think, i found it at forever yours bridal shop.

Yeah-well I think the only sizes are 4 and 12-so if either one of those is your side-or if you're close to one-I'd get on it. The other day there was only a 4-and now the 12 is back-and even though I'm currently too fat for the 12-I'm still tempted-I'd have to sell my soul to the devil for the $$$ though. AKA Mom. And the wedding is probably 3 years off-but whatever!

Ugh... I wish I knew exactly what our plan was for the wedding. I have a pretty good idea, but still... And I would feel strange buying something before I even have the ring... I guess I could always have something similar made. I would probably need a size 2... I really wish I could try it on! Maybe next season the put it out in another color! I wonder if it could be ordered down the road from the Bagdley store... Hmmm... maybe.
If you think that''s your dress for sure though, and you think the size will work, sell your soul, it''s worth it! LOL

Ugh. I love it, but I'm scared because it's 3 years. And I don't have a ring either! I know one will make its way to me eventually, but still. You know? And I think BF would think it's weird. Maybe I'll ask him about it. He really likes the V neck one in my collage in the top right corner-and that's my fave too-but this one is silvery and beautiful.

UGH UGH UGH.

You could get it in an 8 from Saks and while I don''t condone dieting to fit into a dress, you totally have 2 years to lose 3 dress sizes!!

Well I do wanna, but the problem is that I will probably never fit into a 8 top again, because of my 34DDs. The last time I fit into a 6 was when I was 15 and the rest of me was a 3-and my chest hasn''t changed much(plus surgery a few years ago helped them go from a 32GG to a 34DD). So I''d probably still get the twelve just because of them. Luckily it''s an empire waist so the rest of me wouldn''t matter as much, but still, coverage would be a factor...

Just showed it to BF. He doesn''t like it much.

i like this :)

not saying id actually go for that, really not into any sort of planning stages lol... but i really don't see myself in a white dress (plus im VERY cheap lol and would rather get a nice bridesmaid dress than a cheap wedding dress)....
Brown has always been my favourite color as far back as i can remember, and ironically my bf's name is bruno lol (which means brown ...)...

a follow-up question to those considering non-white dress (or even if ure not)... how would you match a veil to a blue or brown dress, etc... ? ive only ever seen them in white, and quite frankly i dont think a brown veil would be very nice lol... although i have no problem with the idea of not wearing a veil... at most perhaps some little hair doodad...

well i couldnt get the blue dress pics to come up...so...i found THIS which i LOVE! gunna try to find a local store that carries it and try it...whatcha all think?

Freke: its made by Forever Yours Bridal. I just started looking for it today. called a few places in my area to see if they had it in stock cuz the website says those places carry the line. but so far no luck. One place said that they can get it, but will only order it if im DEF buying it. And I wanna try it on 1st and be SURE lol. Im off tomorrow, so Ill call around some more. May have to go to NY at some point to find it.

OI! problem...SO thought his tartan colors were red, brownish and gold. but they are blue, green and white. so now I cant do the red dress lol. I wanted to match my SO...back to the drawing board. The red dress I posted comes in dark Navey blue also. But the color swatch looks SOOO dark.

What about dusty blue, orchid blue, regal blue, sky, blue topaz or sapphire?

I bet they aren''t the same colors as the actual cloth...

It just went to the search page. Can you post a pic?

They have Royal...which will prolly be the closest...how do you think it would lok in that color? its hard to picture lol

Oy, how did I miss the royal? I think it would probably be pretty. Could you try on a dress that is similar in shape somewhere close and get them to send you a swatch of the royal fabric?

Ahhh...I see the problem-o. Yeah I think if Royal is anywhere near what it looks like on the screen, it''s a good color. And Navy does look dark. I would call the company and ask for a swatch of the fabric.

Sorry about the slow response-I was cooking for FF''s department party tomorrow.

NP Freke! Believe me I appreciate your help np matter how fast or slow the response lol. I hope all goes well with the party!
