Not homeless anymore

Oh that is just luscious! have you posted your tsav pics on its own?

Oooooooo Chrono you little monkey! Your first LOGR! Welcome to the club! Your Tsav will look lovely and at home in there.

By the way, are you sure about those rubies being too long? If you drop the side stones and raise the centre, it gives a different look and (depending on how wide they are) I actually think it would make a great ring - although I never mix colours as you know!!!

Thank you, everyone! For the rest who do not like mixing coloured stones, I’ve attached a picture of what inspired this idea. Does this change your mind or not at all?

ForteKitty,
I have posted pictures of the tsavorite alone when I first purchased it. I do have more pictures somewhere on my memory stick which I’ll look through and post a few.

LD,
I prefer the stones in my rings to be very low set as I’m not exactly brimming with elegance and grace. Plus, I like the proportions as pictured below. What do you think?

Looks beautiful, Chrono! I had wondered if you had any LOGR settings. I've been looking at them recently, too so it's nice to hear that you're happy with yours.

I can't get that Princess Leia image out of my head   Great sense of humor!

Wow! That's a beautiful ring! I think those proportions are great-- any bigger and those side stones would pack too much of a punch.

BabyNurse,
Obviously there is no comparison between my WF settings and the LOGR setting in terms of workmanship and melee quality. However, if I were to have WF custom design something similar, I will be paying at least 5x more than the LOGR. For what I paid, the LOGR is of excellent value; just don’t expect perfection from it. :cheeky:

I think this is very elegant, although I think your plan, with the green in the center and the pink as sidestones, will be even more striking. IMO, the key to assertive color combinations is having the settings very simple, very elegant, very refined, and the lovely ring you posted is all three.

Personally, I'd save the LOGR setting for another stone, and go full force looking for the right side stones so you could set that tsavorite in the ring you really want. YMMV, and whatever you decide to do, I hope you'll post the pictures when the tsav is set.

If I do the 3 stone combo, yes, it will be a simple 3 stone without any embellishments. And after seeing how great the tsavorite looks in yellow gold, I’m going to stick with 18K yellow gold for it. I do have another 7 mm stone that will fit the setting. It is a 2 ct Tanzanian pink spinel.

Can somebody do a photoshop and change the centre to green and the sides to red please? Would love to see how that combo works.

Chrono - I quite like the proportions of the Leon ring but the centre looks a tad too big. I think you'd be able to achieve a very similar look but the sidestones would be longer than in the Leon picture. When I said raising the centre stone I didn't mean totally up in the air! I think if it were raised 2-3mm above the outside stones that would be enough to get perspective. As for you not having the grace to wear a higher ring may I remind you of your stunning Mahenge pear? that's not exactly a low set ring! :lickout:

I'd be highly tempted to get the Rubies to see how the three look together - especially as you have another stone that would fit the LOGR. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and I believe that there's a good returns policy on them? Enabling over!

LD,
Trust me, I have a pair of Burmese red spinels which I briefly considered using as sidestones. It is an eye popper but too Xmas-y for me. They are about 5 x 5 mm thereabouts. I’ve drawn this out on paper and found the something with a height of 5 mm goes best with the 7 mm height of the center stone. 4 mm is too short and 6 mm gives it a different appearance (not quite allowing the center to stand out). Ummm….aahh….can I take the 5th amendment on the Mahenge ring? If I have the time, I will take the red spinels out from the bank and have a quick photography session with the tsavorite.

Chrono, please take photos. I'd love to see the combo BUT I have to be honest and say that Christmas was my first thought and then "what on earth would I wear with a ring that's red and green"!!!! Black? But hey ho, you know me, I'm a single colour girl with very few exceptions!

By request, I'm adding a few pictures of my unset tsavorite. Sorry they look repetitive as I'm not daring enough to brave any fancy outdoor pictures.
