Now I really did it :((

GM girls and happy terrific Tuesday

@canuk-gal hope your check up goes smoothly and relief is yours soon. Nice you are experiencing seasonal temps and that's good walking weather and I am with your dh...any weather is ice cream weather lol

@Austina we need rain too...fingers crossed for rain...the garden sounds lovely and I know it's going to look gorgeous when all done. Greg's flavor was darkness...dark chocolate. I didn't taste it because I am not a chocolate ice cream fan but he said it's delicious.

@Slickk good morning, hope your Tuesday is terrific.

This AM the cats were there but Fresca went from plate to plate (she was first up this AM) and she ate nothing. I am so worried. This has happened (as you are all well aware due to my over sharing what's going on with the kitties) to our cats and we bring them to the vet when they stop eating. But with Fresca no way can we do that. I am so upset. She is old (no clue how old but over 8yo and likely much older) and I do not want her to suffer if this is the end. I am praying her loss of appetite is temporary but with cats more than two days and that's that. Please let her start eating again. :(

Yesterday was chilly but still a good ride. Today more of the same. I have an AM Telemedicine appointment with my alpha one pulmonologist and I know she is going to be cross with me as I have done none of the testing she wanted me to do two years ago. That was the last time I saw her...August 2022. So not sure if I will be continuing with her we shall see. She is the only alpha one specialist in the area however. She's at Columbia so not that close either. Anyway that's my day. Pulmonologist AM and cycling after that and praying Fresca is OK. Have a good day girls. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO

First up Sassy yesterday...you can see how filthy she is. I don't know why she is not grooming herself. Another concern

Enjoy a terrific Tuesday girls XOXO

Hello lovelies

Poor little Sassy does look rather scruffy @missy, but if she’s eating, that, at least is a good sign. Hopefully Fresca was just having an off day, and will get her appetite back soon. Colin would’ve loved the ice cream, like you, I’m not much of a chocolate lover, but if it’s got chocolate in it, Colin’s all over it. I hope you managed to get our and cycle today, it was too windy for us to go in the pool today, so I just caught up on a few household jobs.

Sending love and hugs to all the lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

GM girls! Happy wonderful wednesday!

Thanks @Austina. I overslept this morning (very rare for me) and Greg fed the kitties and he reported Fresca ate. When I got downstairs after I woke I saw her just standing there and Rocco went right past her and she did not move which is very unusual. So I still feel uneasy but will monitor the situation as best I can...thank you for your supportive comments. LOL Colin is like Greg. Chocolate...yes please. We did get to cycle yesterday and it was very enjoyable. Chilly but I was appropriately dressed. Windy here too. Glad you made the most of it and got to complete some projects around the house. We have many household projects to do. Saving it for the inclement weather

@marcy hope all is well and the wind isn't too great by you. Whenever I think it's windy here I think of you and tell myself not to be such a wind wimp look at what Marcy deals with on a regular basis lol.

@Slickk how is it Wednesday already? Wow speeding by and we turn the clocks back this saturday night. Boo. I hate that as it messes so many things up...oh well. Hope you are having a good week

@canuk-gal I hope winter goes as fast as summer did and may this winter be a mild one for us all :)

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well. Another enjoyable cycling day and we hit over 8500 miles. I known our cycling season is almost over but I am savoring each last moment to the max. Tonight I have my zoom with my girlfriends and looking forward to that too. Hope you enjoy a wonderful Wednesday all. XOXO

Screen Shot 2024-10-30 at 6.44.16 AM.png

And finally leaving you with a photo of the purrrrfectly beautiful Gracie as she lay on me last night and let me tell you she is filled with catittude. Her name should've been Sassy

GM girls and happy terrific Halloween Thursday! And a very happy birthday to my mom who is a Halloween baby....

@canuk-gal hope your week is going very smoothly and all is well. Do you turn the clocks back this weekend like we do? I cannot believe it's that time already. Feels like we just turned the clocks ahead for Spring (((hugs)))

@Slickk hope work is going well and you are having a good week. Gorgeous weather. I cannot remember an October like this. I think (barring a doctor's appointment or two and my surgery and a few days off to be cautious) we have not missed any days cycling this month. I hope everything is going according to plan XOXO

@MamaBee good morning XOXO

@Austina hope the garden project is continuing to go well and you are enjoying a lovely week

Hello everyone else.

I am very tired this AM after a four hour zoom with my girlfriends last night and a not so great sleep. But the calls was, as always, fantastic. I do not know what we talk about for so many hours but lol we never stop.

Great news...Fresca ate this morning in front of my eyes. Whew! I know she is old and I know eventually it's not going to be good but for now I rejoice in the fact she is doing as well as possible. That they all are.

Yesterday late afternoon we got home from cycling and Shasta was by our deliveries as if to say...open my packages already. Like she knew they were for her (they were for all the ferals so she was on point)...Chewy must love us

Screen Shot 2024-10-31 at 6.34.00 AM.png

We had a lovely long cycling adventure yesterday. it was in the 70s Fahrenheit and ridiculously gorgeous. I am sad it will soon be over but omg what spectacular weather we have been experiencing. Enjoyed our sweet ICOTD and you can see Pythagoras in the background hahaha

Screen Shot 2024-10-31 at 6.37.11 AM.png

May your day be sweet and fruitful and may all be well. XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s.

@missy I hope your hand is doing better each day. It looks good. You might inspire me to get my fingers done. They are pretty crooked. Love the buffet for the kitties. What a stack of cat food too. Your nieces are awesome. Gorgeous fall colors. I’m glad you’re able to ride. Yes, the wind here is nuts. Did I tell you our flag pole got snapped off by the wind?

@Austina putting down brick and rocks is hard work. Glad your landscaping is coming along though. We will plant prairie grass once we get a hard freeze. Good idea to put up some meals in the freezer.

@canuk-gal glad you’ve had nice days. We had our first snow yesterday. I hope the OBGYN can help with your pain and issues. I’m hoping to wait until spring to go see anyone.

Not much new here. I’ve been working or reading.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy FriYAY! Happy November first!!! November!!!!!

@marcy omg, I don't remember your flagpole snapped off from the wind. That is fierce wind. Thank you for your kind comments. And thanks for asking about my finger. I feel it is not healing as fast as it should be and I am still in some discomfort. Unfortunately the surgeon is rarely in the office (twice a month) so I have no followup appointment. If I run into trouble of course I will contact him and the office but for now I am biding my time...you know the tincture of time. Hope it works here. OMG snow!!! Nooooo!!! It was almost 80 here yesterday and you are getting snow. That is not OK. I am sorry your fingers are bothering you. Crooked wouldn't bother me but not being able to lift weights ever again does bother me. Function above form in all cases IMO. So I hope even with your crooked fingers they work ok.And if it were me, and my fingers were functioning well, I would do absolutely nothing. But that is me. I find the more I do the more issues I can have...sometimes. But in this case I had no choice and am hoping for the best. Sending you so many well wishes and also snow melting vibes LOL. Hope you have a fantastic weekend sweet Marcy XOXO

@MamaBee sending you healing vibes...these things do take a long time and I have the knee and other scars to prove it. From one Klutz to another I get you. I love you. I feel for you. It's not easy being us. But no one else can be us LOL

@Slickk woohoo it's friYAY...weekend is almost here

Hi @canuk-gal hope your week is going as well as possible and I also hope there is no snow in your forecast...though you have the coolest boots in case there is snow. LOL the only good thing about winter is our wardrobe :)

@Austina how are your temps there? We are hitting 70s again today (maybe 80s) but we do have possible rain in the forecast around noon..still going cycling however and we will risk getting wet. No biggie as they are not predicting thunderstorms. I don't like to cycle during thunderstorms. Been there done that too often. Hope all is going well by you and may you have an enjoyable weekend

Hello everyone else. Another wonderful cycling day yesterday. It was getting too hot there and then suddenly the wind shifted to the east and sweet relief!!!! OMG it was amazing. May you all enjoy a fantastic friYAY and an even better weekend. XOXO

Jimmy loaded us up yesterday

Screen Shot 2024-11-01 at 6.38.26 AM.png

It was so delicious. Just incredibly good. Sharon, I am with your dh...love ice cream no matter the temps. But as we experience record high temps this month it tastes even better

Enjoy a sweet friYAy all.

Pronghorn antelope? Never saw one. What beautiful animals!

Hello lovelies

:-o Snow @marcy, that’s just soooo wrong on so many levels! It’s cool here, but still in the low 80’s. We get wind here, but wow to it breaking your flag pole, what a pain. Love the visitors, ain’t nature grand! Funnily enough, Pronghorns have come up twice at trivia. I’m hoping you’re not working too hard and will be having a nice restful weekend.

How funny that Shashta was sitting waiting by the food @missy, looks like she was guarding it from any potential thieves  So glad to hear that Fresca was eating again, they have off days just like us. The temps are hovering around 80, but it’s been very overcast the last few days, but no rain so far. Hopefully this weekend. Glad you were able to get out to cycle despite the wind.

We’ve had a couple of busy days just doing ‘stuff’, nothing in particular, Colin’s been showing me how to organise health insurance, and forward contracts - I’ve told him he better not die, because I’m not sure I can do it!

We’re going out to dinner on Sunday to the local Italian restaurant, no particular reason, just want to support them.

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs will have a lovely weekend.

:wavey:

GM girls and happy Caturday Saturday! Happy Daylight Standard Time weekend.

@Austina OMG yes I hear you. I have no clue how to manage anything here tbh...Greg handles most everything...not proud of that but it just goes over my head. Greg has organized things for me g-d forbid but really I would be up the proverbial creek if something happened to him. I need to have him explain it all to me. He's ready but I have been putting it off...when my good friend's dh died unexpectedly this year she was left with a mess and she told me to not allow the same thing to happen to me. But I have been dragging my heels. It's so unpleasant to think about. Add health insurance on top of it all and the intricacies of which is best suited for each individual and I am lost. It's smart of you to be on top of this. I will try mustering energy to get going with this same issue. Thanks for reminding me what I have been putting off for so long.

Dinner out Sunday sounds like fun..don't forget we turn the clocks back. Back to standard time. Boo

@marcy oooh LOVE LOVE LOVE. So sweet and beautiful and elegant. Wish we could hug them. Enjoy!

@Slickk finally the weekend woohoo. Have a wonderful weekend

Hello everyone else. Great cycling yesterday and Greg had a conference call at 4PM for which we got home just in time. Today is freezing compared to the last few days...25 degrees cooler!!!! I will be bundling up quite well today. Another cycling day yay....have a wonderful Saturday everyone. Be well. Enjoy. XOXO And don't forget...if you are in a state/country that turns your clocks back it's tonight. An extra hour of sleep for some but for me I just end up waking an hour earlier. :)

Our sweet ICOTD treat yesterday

Screen Shot 2024-11-02 at 7.02.25 AM.png

And when we got home our feral cats were patiently waiting for us. They had tons of food from that morning still left in the feeder but Fresca and Pepsi are usually there waiting to greet us when we arrive back home from cycling.

Fresca yesterday late afternoon...she comes up to the porch and stares at me through the glass door...I bend down to her level and start speaking softly to her...and she just keeps staring at me. I love her so much. I love them all so much. Pepsi also comes to the porch and stares at me but she starts meowing gently. Three meows usually in succession. No clue what she is trying to tell me. I wish I could touch them but if I try they back away. They do not run away but just backup a few steps. With the glass door between us they feel safe and I touch the door and they come very close

Enjoy a super Caturday Saturday girls!!! XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out.

Busyish day. Got up early--and made my Mom's carrot ginger soup. mmmmmm Got the brakes replaced in my DS car--and got Korean chicken takeout. Chilly day--or should I say seasonal. November after all.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy daylight Standard time and NYC Marathon Day Sunday!

@canuk-gal I hear you. Our weather is now seasonal for November and it is FREEZING. And windy. I hope we can cycle today. I feel very wimpy regarding our temps as I was spoiled for this entire past month of October. And now we are solidly in November territory and I am not like this change in temps. Also worried about the feral cats who do not seem to be using our heated luxury shelters. Feral cats are even stranger than domestic kitties. Fact.

@Slickk keep warm and enjoy this crisp Sunday

Hello everyone else. Fresca did not eat again this AM. Ugh. I am worried but not much I can do but continue trying to tempt her with her favorite treats. I bought so many of the treats she loves. But not a morsel this AM did she ingest.

It's very chilly and windy here. Colder than yesterday. We enjoyed a nice long cycling day despite the wind and cooler temps. We were both tired afterwards. Not in our 30s or 40s anymore...not even close. My brain doesn't acknowledge our ages however lol. The wind sounds so fierce this morning. Hoping we can go cycling but I guess we will see. Today is colder and more windy even than yesterday plus a NE wind which is the coldest wind here...yesterday was north west.

Have a beautiful Sunday lovely ladies. Enjoy. Be well.

Sassy yesterday late afternoon....poor sweetie so filthy...I wish I could scoop her up and give her a nice bubble bath

Screen Shot 2024-11-03 at 6.17.12 AM.png

Fresca licking her lips yesterday afternoon..cmon fresca please eat today

Screen Shot 2024-11-03 at 6.17.32 AM.png

And finally our sweet treat ICOTD yesterday...cool day but never too cool for ice cream

Screen Shot 2024-11-03 at 6.16.52 AM.png

Love you NIRDIs XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow up SO early this AM...no surprise!!! But it makes for a long day. I'd rather sleep until 9!! Should have waited to make the carrot ginger soup today....now I have nothing to do. LOL.

Yes @missy you've been enjoying very beautiful weather and doing well getting in many miles cycling. Hope your season is not over. Our mornings are pretty chilly now--this AM -6C. But I see some pretty nice temps this week here--hope they come to fruition!

Perhaps if Sassy gains a bit of weight she might have more energy to groom herself. She needs to gain a few!! Perhaps the kitties are not used to the new heated digs--they just need some practice.

@Austina hope you get the rain you need. Are you cruising this month?
@marcy how is the observatory coming along?

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy, how did you get here so fast, Monday!
As predicted it was freezing for me yesterday so we did not do our full ride. We did ride for 4 hours so I give myself credit for that. I was really cold. This AM I gave myself a corneal abrasion don't ask how. But I am such a Klutz. Just hoping this heals without complications as I do not need any more medical stuff. LOL and OMG I am just a klutz with a capital K

@canuk-gal I hope your nice temps come to fruition and you enjoy some incredible weather to come

@marcy I asked Greg about the on demand hot water heater. He said he looked into that 25 or so years ago...I have never heard of it LOL May all your showers from here on in be nice and warm

@Slickk hope you enjoyed a terrific weekend

Hello everyone else. Happy Monday. Stay warm, be well and enjoy

Last night I was occupied by Gracie and Tommy LOL. I could not move at all

Screen Shot 2024-11-04 at 6.44.25 AM.png

And yesterday afternoon when we got home..Fresca and Pepsi prefer eating on the porch over the feeder. So I make sure there is food in both places all the time

Screen Shot 2024-11-04 at 6.45.46 AM.png

Update. I have a pretty sizeable corneal abrasion and went to see my colleague two hours away. I knew I needed a bandage contact lens. The pain was a ten on a 1-10 scale. Thankfully it’s less painful now but it’s very unpleasant. Just praying that pain doesn’t return and that my cornea heals quickly. I’m supposed to leave the bandage lens on for a few days. And continue with my antibiotic drops I started immediately this morning. I would appreciate your good wishes. I’m the biggest klutz. @MamaBee I think I have you beat in the klutz department lol

image000000.jpeg

You can see how large an area of my cornea I abraded. Sheesh. I’m a danger to myself. Sigh

The good news is Fresca is eating well now. Fingers crossed that continues ♥️♥️♥️

Oh, Missy.... OUCH, corneal abrasions can be so painful. I hope your eye heals quickly and you're up and running again soon. We all have some klutz in us, don't beat yourself up! ;)2 (Winking with my good eye, lol.)

Hello lovelies

Oh no @missy, I’m sorry you’ve hurt your eye. I’ve scratched my cornea twice when I wore hard lenses (before the days of gas permeable) and I remember it was agony. Good news that Fresca is eating again, what a worry when they don’t eat. Freezing temps don’t sound like much fun, you’re brave for still getting out riding. How’re your parents doing? I heard from a friend today that her 93 year old Mum fell and broke her hip, they’ve operated and are trying to get her home a.s.a.p. Absolutely ridiculous, she lives in the middle of nowhere and can’t possibly cope on her own. They’ve managed to get her in to a rehab facility, but she’s having to fund it until she’s able to cope, then they’ll go and collect her (6hr drive each way) and take her home with them.

-6 @canuk-gal YIKES :-o Funny you mentioning the carrot and ginger soup, I made carrot and coriander today. Not that it’s soup weather, I went out for a walk this afternoon and came back boiled. We did get a little rain this morning and are supposed to be getting a downpour later. It was 85 degs out.

We enjoyed our meal last night, we went early because I don’t like driving in the dark, and we don’t have any street lighting around here. Other than that, we FT with our friends yesterday, always fun catching up.

We’re probably going out tomorrow to get me a new phone, mine’s eons old

:wavey:

GM girls and happy terrific election day Tuesday!

@Sunrises Sunsets aww thank you! Yes definitely the most painful thing I have experienced and I have experienced a lot. The cornea is full of nerves. Richest supply of nerves in the body and that is why a corneal abrasion is so painful especially a big one. I appreciate your kind wishes, thank you! I hope all is well with you. And haha yes I guess we do but the klutz in me seems to be very strong as hard as I work against it. It is in my DNA...look at my parents..

@Austina thank you. Ugh I am so sorry about your friend's mom. In the USA they leave the old people to fend for themselves. People who have fought for this country and have sacrificed for this country. It makes me ill. My parents are doing well thank you for asking. My mom got Covid again last week and it was bad. She had to be put on Paxlovid after a few days of trying to shake it herself. She was getting sicker. Covid is no joke. She was also put on Augmentin as she got a secondary sinus infection. Thankfully she is on the mend. I appreciate your well wishes. Good luck shopping for your new phone. I love my large iPhone as it is easier for me to see the font. LOL I'm old

@Slickk happy election day..fingers and toes crossed...hope you have a good day

Hello everyone else. What a day yesterday. I was in a lot of pain and being in the profession did not make it easier IMO. My colleague who kindly told me to come in yesterday despite his full hectic schedule was a lifesaver. He is on a plane now heading to an academy meeting. So I am seeing another OD this morning. A local one. One I have no relationship with but I know he is competent. I need to make sure it is healing and I will see what his thoughts are. I am still wearing the bandage contact lens and it is helping with the pain. It got worse again last night but I am feeling some relief this AM. After I see him we hope to go cycling. Supposed to be warmer today..yay!

Enjoy a terrific day lovely ladies.

Fresca hanging out yesterday as I was in the den. We got to watch each other :kiss2:

Screen Shot 2024-11-05 at 5.50.52 AM.png

And finally a good LOL for anyone who needs it today.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!

@missy sorry about your eye. Hope it heals soon! And also sorry to hear about your Mom and Covid.

Not much here, woke up to blowing snow but it didn't amount to much and it won't stay. Tis the season......

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies!!! Happy wonderful Wednesday!!!

I saw the local OD yesterday AM and he is great. He changed the bandage lens and I am seeing him Thursday afternoon. He was impressed at the damage I have done LOL. Me too. I really like him. My eye is healing but still not 100%. Day three of healing begins.

@canuk-gal thank you sweet friend. I know we live far away but I want you to know how much I cherish your support and friendship. I love the modern age and that we can communicate thousands of miles away. Big hugs and have a great day

@Slickk woohoo!!!! Have a great day dear friend XOXO

@marcy my dear friend, the truth prevails. Hope you are having a happy week ((HUGS))

@Austina good morning, hope your week is going smoothly XOXO

@springerspaniel two leaves are hanging onto the tree. It reminds me of the O'Henry story "the last leaf" Hope you are having a good week XOXO

@Inked I am so glad we became friends and can share the good, the bad and the ugly. But mostly bling and friendship (((Hugs)))

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well. Wishing you a most wonderful Wednesday filled with love, joy, peace and good health. XOXO

We went cycling yesterday but I was nervous as the wind was whipping about and my eye is very vulnerable right now. I kept it closed much of the ride. But this week if all goes well we hit 9,000 miles so I do not want to take a break...so today while super windy (windier than yesterday) I will do my best to protect my eyes and borrow Greg's goggles. Anyway leaving you with Cleopatra and her eyes. No alteration of color in these photos. This is her eye color. She is stunning. And oh my so full of Cattitude...you can feel it through the page LOL

Screen Shot 2024-11-06 at 6.07.51 AM.png

I love this cat with the huge Cattitude so much. She is not a stray but I am not pleased with her owners as they don't even have a collar on her! I wish I could scoop her up to safety but she is definitely an indoor outdoor cat and would be miserable any other way
That face...SWOON
Screen Shot 2024-11-06 at 6.07.58 AM.png

We had ice cream inside due to the high winds so I could keep my eyes open lol

Screen Shot 2024-11-06 at 6.08.19 AM.png

Love you ladies. Be well. ((((Hugs))))

I am not religious but let's all pray for a peaceful four years..
Let's hope for peace and unity, kindness and fairness for all

Hello lovelies

Amen to that @missy. So glad the OD was a success, and healing vibes for your eye to be better soon. Woohoo to hopefully hitting 9000 miles, what an achievement. They should have called Cleopatra Goldeneyes!

We went to get me a new phone yesterday, I don’t know what was going on with the SatNav, but we got there eventually! I got the iPhone 16 in Ultramarine. Did the set up there, but had to log in to all my apps when I got back, so spent most of the afternoon fiddling with it.

Lovely and sunny here today, probably will be cutting the grass for the last time this year.

Have a great day lovely NIRDIs

Thankfully, the corneal healing has started and I have to admit, I've never heard of an optical lens bandage. It does sound soothing though, when it comes to the scratchiness that goes with that type of injury.

May the next few days be the turning point for your recovery and the "eye bandage" no longer needed.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy yes truth prevailed. Decisively. Planning ahead is not pleasant, but it’s a good idea. My mom had me come by about every six months so I’d know about their stuff just in case. My dad had no clue, I helped him out but he was gone soon anyway. I tried to tell Marty stuff off and on, but I know he’d be lost. I have our few bills set up an auto-withdrawals so he wouldn’t have to figure that out. Pepsi is telling you thanks for taking care of us. Nice to still get out in the cold weather. I am not a fan of the time change. I haven’t adjusted yet. I hope your eye is okay. Ouch. I had that happen once and it is not fun. Funny story on that - I woke Marty up and he didn’t want to get up so hit me in the back of my head with a pillow. The pillow case was too big for the pillow, so the edge of it whipped around and took a nick out of my cornea. I couldn’t see or quit crying. I stayed home figuring it’d get better. But it did not. So I call my mom and ask her if she can take me to the eye doctor because Marty hit me in the eye. He was thrilled later to hear that is what I told her. I think they call those water heaters tankless water heaters. My parents had one at their cabin. I have NOT forgot to warm up my water again. I hope your mom feels better soon. Woo hoo to 9,000 miles. What a milestone.

@Austina we had another round of snow, but not much. That’s funny about pronghorns coming up at trivia. We had about 20 of them in our yard off and on all day. We must have tasty weeds and grass out there. It’s a good idea for both of you to keep tract of paperwork and bills, etc. Marty would have no clue what to do. That is crazy they are rushing getting your friend’s mom home. Medicare has a set limit on hospital and won’t pay for rehab stays unless the hospital sends them there - all of which I think is pretty crappy. I hope she does okay staying with your friend. Dinner out sounds fun.

@canuk-gal I can’t believe it’s November already. The snow and cold should be a clue though. Ha Ha. There’s more progress on the observatory. It’s sealed up, door and window installed. They are putting on a metal roof hopefully on Friday. He got the rails and wheels on the roll of roof. There’s not electricity hooked up yet, so he pushed the roof off and back on once to make sure it works. Good things he has all those muscles.

Hi sunrises sunsets.

Not much new with me. I tried knitting this weekend just a little but it sure flared up that wrist / thumb. I don’t know if it’s carpel tunnel or arthritis damage to the thumb joint, or a combo. I might actually go see someone because I don’t want to give up knitting. Since I can’t knit I’ve been reading a lot.

I actually played retired lady for a bit yesterday. I was looking for a snack at 3:00 p.m. and decided the rest of a bottle of wine was a snack. That way the wine won’t go to waste. Ha Ha. I sent a friend of mine a picture of the glass and said - I’m playing retired lady today.

We had a few dozen antelope in our yard again today. It’s fun to watch them.

Take care.
Marcy

@missy Yes..You win! How did you do that?! I’m happy it’s feeling better!
I really miss you girls..This darn thing I have has me managing visit, etc like a corporation! I finally have things in order. I’ve been eyeing diamonds, etc so I know I’m in a better mindset.
Talk to you all later..❤️

Hello lovelies

It’s lovely to see you @MamaBee, we miss you, but understand how difficult things are with you ATM. Glad you’re feeling a bit better and getting your mojo back.

Wow, the observatory is really coming along @marcy, it’s looking great. It’ll save on mowing if the deer eat all your weeds  Unfortunately, they like to eat everything else too, that’s why we’ve had to put in lots of deer resistant plants. Yay, to getting to be retired, if only for a short while.

I meant to say how sorry I was to hear your Mum had covid and hope she’s fully recovered now @missy. She’s got enough on her plate taking care of your Dad. Your nieces are really growing up, how’re things going with your college niece? I hope she’s enjoying it without all the nonsense going on everywhere?

HI @Sunrises Sunsets

Lovely day here, we got out early to get the shopping done, as we’re hoping to get some rain later.

We’ve spent a frustrating time trying to get an App working on our phones (they were fine before I got my new phone, only to discover the problem is at their end ! The tech lady we spoke to yesterday said we’re not the only ones, so hopefully they’ll sort it out soon.

Ordered a new case and keyboard for my IPad, and cover for my phone and screen protector. Sorted that all out and I’m good to go.

Take care lovely NIRDis

Yeah, changing phones is my undoing. That's why my techy family members find me clutching my old phone to my chest even though my phone will no longer service my old model.

Wishing you completed Apps soon and relieved it's not me.;)2

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!

Wow to awesome weather here! I woke up to 11C and a bright sunny day! We went on a bike ride--not too long (still have pain) but enough to enjoy the day. We've hit our predicted high--and then some. I'll take this Nov weather!!! Did my food bank drop off and Legion $ donation today.

@missy I hope your eyeball is healing. I can't believe you rode with wind and a sore eye! 4 hours is a long time to cycle--I've never done that in my life. And Cleo is such a beautiful cat. Looks so healthy. Truly a dolly! We saw a gorgeous Italian mastiff on the paths today--and he was huge but so gentle. He needed his own postal code!

@MamaBee nice to hear from you! Glad you are on the mend. Tell us all that is fit to print.
@marcy love your wildlife!
@Austina glad you got your phone straightened out.

cheers--Sharon

cheers--Sharon

Good morning lovely ladies and happy FriYAY!!!!!!

@canuk-gal yay for awesome weather...we have had some gorgeous days too. Just unreal. 70s even 80s and sunny but very very windy. I have been wearing wrap around glasses from Greg when we are cycling. Don't need anything foreign in eyes right now lol. Thank you and I am feeling much better. Cornea is healed though I am now at higher risk for RCE (recurrent corneal erosion) and to that end I am instilling Muro-128 ointment every night before bed hoping it will keep things quiet. For at least 6 weeks if I can manage it. Not pleasant putting in ointment blurring the vision but if I can do it that can help prevent RCEs. My mom has them so once again a genetic component is there. Very sorry to read you still have some pain but glad you got cycling in and you enjoyed it. So nice your weather is cooperating. And yes to November weather being mild so far. That unfortunately is about to change here but it was a good run while it lasted. Today is still nice though 10 degrees cooler (68) and tomorrow 10 degrees cooler from day to a high at 55. Those are more seasonable temps. For us. OMG to the Italian Mastiff. They are so handsome. LOL they need their own zip code...true  Always a treat to see furry babies when we are cycling. :kiss2:

@marcy ouch I am sorry you went through that. UGH. It's easier to laugh after the fact and glad it is behind you. Like you I am not a fan of this time change and I still have not adjusted either. So I am going to bed an hour earlier and waking up an hour earlier. LOL Take that time change. You might have realized by now I'm completely clueless about household stuff and clearly had no clue about a tankless water heater  YAY for playing retired lady...you deserve it

@Austina thank you for asking. My niece is doing well. She has made some wonderful friends and she is enjoying college. She is finding classes challenging but IIRC so did I when I first started college. It's a change from high school. I have no doubt she will do well. And no nonsense happening on her campus. AFAIK. All is peaceful and calm TG. I read that record numbers of Gen X voted for DT. I'm Gen X :) I wonder how my nieces generation voted. I will have to look into that. Very curious. Thank you for the well wishes for my mom. She sure has had more than her fair share of stuff. She is recovered thankfully. And I really hope she doesn't get it again. This is time two or three. Ugh. Yay for figuring out the phone issues. It can be frustrating. And yay for a new keyboard and case for your iPad. Sweet. I am not familiar with the color Ultramarine but it sounds very pretty

Hahaha yes I win Queen Klutz but as we said we are soul sisters in Klutzdom Kingdom  And girl we both need to be more careful for sure. You are the best @MamaBee big hugs and much love to you and I hope we see you around here more often. I feel selfish for keeping you all to myself :)

@Sunrises Sunsets thank you again for your kind and well wishes. And they worked. The bandage lens is now off and i feel OK. Not 100% but close. Now I have to be wary of RCEs (recurrent corneal erosions) but I am prepared and have some bandage contact lenses in the house should I need to apply it. Bu hopefully that won't be necessary. I really do not ever want to experience that level of pain again. When I say it was a 10 on a scale of 1-10 I am not exaggerating. And I have a high pain tolerance. Oy to the vey. I hope things remain calm and quiet by you too...wishing that for everyone. There was too much excitement this week starting with Monday AM at 5...praying for peaceful times and experiences ahead for us all. And it's so nice to see you here. I hope you stick around :)

Hello everyone else. Yesterday was a busy day. AM Greg met with the coop attorney to sign papers for the building's refinance and then he had a conference call for work. We went cycling after that and late afternoon I had my OD appointment where my cornea was proclaimed healed and the bandage CL was removed. My instructions are to instill Muro-128 ung before bed every night now to prevent RCE. I failed at that last night as it got all over my lashes and wouldn't go into the eye. I was being super careful so as not to cause another abrasion. Oy to the vey and LOL. I hope tonight goes more smoothly. We had a good cycling day yesterday albeit shorter than usual and today it is cooler but still cycling friendly and that is our plan. OH and we hit 9,000 miles yesterday!!!! WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

I took the photo as we were cycling. Above number is mph we were cycling at that moment and the bottom number is the total miles since we started cycling this year (april 2024 I believe but it was a slow start due to Greg's TKR at the end of January this year). Very pleased with our accomplishment as this year was crazy busy with medical appointments. Anything we reach now before 2025 is gravy. I know the weather will be changing very soon and I can't take temps in the low 50s when cycling...just too cold for me with the wind we whip up as we are cycling by the sea.

And a photo yesterday afternoon waiting for the OD to come into the exam room
