Junebug, I LOVE that ring Callie linked you to. It's gorgeous and as you said that emerald is so clear and beautiful.

I love your snow pic thank you.

That's cool your son plays the bass and guitar. I love alternative music.

Don't shovel it should all melt by this weekend I believe. Stay inside comfie and warm.
I checked the security cameras and we have some snow accumulation there now. And I am adding a pic of the snow by us in Brooklyn. Snow all around. Happy Spring woohoo! :sun:

Ovi please enjoy the weekend with your friends. Everything is going to be OK. I didn't get any other emails from you today besides one from this morning and I did email you back. Take a break from life and enjoy yourself this weekend without thinking about this mess. We are all sending you the biggest (((hugs))) and we are here for you no matter what.

Kristie, you and Marcy are killing me with all these yummy treats. But ooh that spess is the most delicious of them all.

Junebug, my degrees are in clarinet performance (goal of being an orchestral clarinetist) and I also play flute, sax and piano. I played in orchestras, did studio work (film scores, jingles, etc) and played in Top 40 Bands doing bars, weddings/receptions, etc. A member of the musician's union early on. That's great, your son is having fun and has been in that band since high school. They must be really cool-headed kids because normally bands break up constantly because failure to "get along." If he ever decides to take it a step further, my alma mater, USC, has the top degrees and programs for commercial music, which would include alt rock, etc. Be glad to give him a letter from an alum. I'm a proud ex teacher, one of my private clarinet students got into USC's theatre program which only takes 10 students per year. If you want to work in the entertainment biz whether its music or acting, its Los Angeles or New York. Nashville for the country stuff. I bet your son has a good time in Austin, I like its city motto: Keep Austin Weird!

Okay, here is a shot with the mount in the background. The mount is pretty. I am going to send the mount on to Andrew/GemFix with the stone to see if it can be used. If not, I'm going with basket and double claw prongs hopefully Frankenstined on to the rope shank.

img_20150320_131440_hdr.jpg

Callie and Junebug, that emerald ring is so gorgeous. Sigh. I like these halos the best, the big ones. I like the needly prongs. I think this ring would look great on your pretty hand, Junebug! And hey, in terms of emeralds being delicate, its made it THIS far, right?

Junebug, if you go pink tourmaline I super suggest getting that from Pala or Barry (Barry's had some really nice pink tourmaline---not that bubblegum or Pepto Bismol colored stuff). Pink tourmaline was the Empress of China's favorite gemstone and the Himalaya Queen Mine (owned by Pala) has the world's finest pink tourmaline. No reason to get anything else, right? It'll cost ya the same, get the good stuff! I think Barry has had Pala rough too.

Ovi, I'm going to email you tomorrow morning but I want to say, in case you check back, that you are on the top of the mountain of garbage and you can take a look back at where you came and then never look back too hard again. Look around you, look ahead of you.

I have gone through periods of No Contact with my parents; I'm in one right now (since July 2014) and prior to that it was for 2 years. I want to reassure you that you are not crazy, your parents/dad may well be negotiating behind your back with your Ex and his parents, and adding in the lawyer, you must ask that lawyer whose interests are being contracted/paid for: Yours or your father's. My parents only do things that serve them, they only think about things and people who serve them, and anything that does not serve them is stepped on, moved through or brushed off including their daughter. You are absolutely entitled to a life of your own and that includes putting your father on hold until some time has passed and you feel clear about what you want, how you are going to get that, and how you are going to allow people including him, to treat you. He may or may not make the cut of being one of your inner circle, you may have to have a more distant relationship with him in order to preserve your mental health and your future relationships.

Here is something to say that always works if anyone is pressing you:
If I have to answer today, the answer would be no.
I'll take that under advisement.
I'm not discussing this today.
I'm not discussing this with you.
Thank you, I have other plans.
No.
Hell No.
F* no :angryfire:

edit: Ovi, I was thinking about my precourt time during my period of obtaining the divorce and my brain was unreliable at best. Some days I could think/do anything and other days I couldn't remember my new mailing address. Just take that as it comes and know that it WILL be over and you'll be back to your predivorce GENIUS but better because your bullshit detector is now in the ON position

Thank you! I'll take that candy right in the middle!

Junebug, here is a pic of my clarinetnerdness: I put a Kokopelli (I don't care that people say he played the FLUTE, that is clearly a clarinet or soprano sax MAYBE) in my pool! I bought the tiles and Bob and I installed it before the plaster dude came.

img_20150320_153146_hdr.jpg

Jimmianne, I'll bring you candy any old day you want! Maybe Puff would let you have ONE, heehee!!!!

How is PuffDaddyParrot today?

I love the snow pics Junebug and Missy posted. Callie, what you got going there?

Kristie, LOVE the Kokopelli in your pool. Genius how you and Bob did it and so cool.

And I love your list of things to say. I might just use some of them myself, thank you.

Kristie, WOW, what an encouragement, I know I am not alone:))) Yes, let's talk tomorrow.:)))

Now, please, do not torture me I want to have my own Bubbles now! You know orange is my favorite color, right? This orange, I would die for. Ok, better not use this word now but really my nails are this color, I have a lot of clothes this color for summer, my other fave color is orangy-yellow and then all the greens and teals and acquas. But now you literally made me, khm, gasp. It was great to see Bubbles and she gave me inspiration.:))) You gave me inspiration.

You and Callie and Missy, you all have been here for me through the worst times. Saying that my brain is unreliable at best is a good way to put it. Ex blackmailed me further tonight spiced with random love letters from him, fun, huh? I let it go for now, things will solve themselves, I am also definitely going no contact with him because he can email me his resignation and if he does not want to be fined he can then go to the tax audit but will still talk to my accountant on Monday in person and after the audit is over they will be fired. Sorry, I will not take bullying or blackmail, threats or being pushed down from anyone.

Kudos to you Kristie for going no contact with your parents and yes doing that with my dad whatever happens now. I know it hurts, it does but sometimes we need peace and clarity. I hope you can use your pretty setting for this awesome girl Bubbles, my friend had a cat named Tiny Bubbles in the Wine, call name Bubbles, loved that name.

Love music too, used to play jazz piano. Love listening to music when I am stressed, maybe time to do that tonight.

The lawyer is my lawyer and he seems to be on my side and will let me know if his assignment is jeopardized by my dad because otherwise he really can get disbarred.

Looking at the good things I have an extra 1200 to spend this weekend.:))) That came in handy just now, no kidding. Ok, I am not going to spend it all most definitely not but I hope we go to the outlets to do a bit of shopping tomorrow. I need it, just hope the girls make it here on time so we get at least two-three hours as it is nothing there.

Missy, I emailed you back, wrote long and went on and on and on about Bea too, did you not get that email? I explained how I was not really a solitaire girl but that I was in love with her setting and this makes me wonder if I could be into solitaires because I am simple crazy for profiles. The Bea ring has THE perfect profile. Whether a ring is intricate with pave, complicated or a solitaire I think the profile is a very decisive factor for me.

Hugs to everyone and spring is coming!

Ovi! You sound better. SO glad you came to check in here. You know we are all sending you lots of love and hugs and we are on your side!

Good news the attorney is working for you. Just make sure to remind him in case you have doubts. Are you saving everything the ex emails or sends you? I am sure you are. Keep everything. The more he sends the better because more evidence against him.

I got that email this morning around 5AM and replied right back to you. Did you not receive my reply?

Ooh $1200 unexpected windfall. :appl: You must do something for yourself and something you would not have gotten if you hadn't received this money. Something special and just because you are going through this challenging time. What do you want Ovi that you wouldn't let yourself buy that wouldn't cost too much more than $1200? Is there a special purse or dress or even bling around that price range? You deserve to pamper yourself and enjoy whatever you get with that money. (((HUGS))).

Ovi, WINDFALL Cha-CHING!

The NIRDIs command you to spend every cent on YOURSELF!

There is almost nothing the NIRDIs love more than a WINDFALL or a 'deal!'

ROFL, yeah, actually this week I fell for the new collection at Escada in Vienna. They have an orange-yellow dress and matching orange espadrille wedges that I am crazy for but the two cost about 1000, I feel crazy if I spend that on myself now ROFL.:))) First, I will check at the outlets but honestly this color combo of course khm goes great with my fancy diamond collection.:))) They are perfect, not cheap but very nice. Did I say I have the habit of collecting wedges like Missy has of collecting boots?:))) But I do feel crazy, especially wedge sandals are my weakness. Strangely I felt that I would have this money coming somehow but I thought from my tax refund, getting a totally unexpected transfer onto your account from a class action is, well, not the sort of news I really mind. I am trying to hold myself back a bit and not splurge without thinking, try the outlets first and spend the rest on bling of course, that is another option. :appl:

Oh Ovi, I hate to be an enabler but that dress and those shoes sound PERFECT and then you still have some money left over perhaps for a massage or some other pampering. Buy the dress and shoes if you love them! :appl:

Ovi, buy them!!!!!

LOL
poor Puffdaddy is getting a bad rep.

I finally ordered MY Mrs.Box. Oh I was so mad at "her" : )
This afternoon they sent out an email saying they were going to release the last few of the special colors in three hours. There was a total run on snapping up those boxes within minutes. Who knew? I thought I had 2 or 3 minutes to ponder choices. A great marketing scheme, but so frustrating. I did get a lavender box called "Starling" [shown on the website next to mint chocolate chip ice cream-lol- before they went out of stock too! & All the while knowing I was being manipulated.
But alas the velvety orange that Joy specifically asked for disappeared from my cart DURING checkout & was replaced by the words "sold out".
I've had the hots for these ever since seeing a diamond in the dusty rose velvet ring box on Grace's website.

OV - retail therapy sounds like a cure for the current madness going on around you. With your situation stress is inevitable, but hopefully you can remain calm and therefore not hurt your brain too much. This too shall pass! Weak words for a tough time. Please just keep writing it all out and knowing that your support system is in place.

Jimmianne, your words really touched me, truly appreciate them. Yes, madness, sorry, I often prefer to not post too much about it, I would really hate to drag people down but I realize that all of you ask about me and want to know, something, I know you prefer to hear good news but it felt really good to share here tonight. It has helped me tremendously. You are wonderful friends to me. Besides my mom and Martina, my colleague, you are the ones that have been there the most.

Of course I have a few good friends too that really care but somehow you are the most encouraging, soothing people and you cheer me on and make me try to go on and fight. Certain things I cannot fight but then I can try to distance myself from the situation. Betrayal and constant betrayal from others that you once thought loved you is one of the hardest things to deal with but I am letting it go for now and icing it all for the weekend at least.

Hahaha, retail therapy lol, yeah like I need much encouragement. I love perfect pieces but will look at the outlets, sometimes I can find great stuff there too but I do not want to buy just to buy so if I find nothing as exciting then I would rather get what I really love. If I do, I will definitely share it here, take pix I promise. Maybe even modeling shots in the mirror.:)))

Jimmianne, am I to contact the box people? I didn't want you to think I was rushing you, I wasn't sure what to do ;)) so beautiful, those boxes.

oh! no!
I sent you an email with the information a while back. I am so sorry you didn't get it and so glad you have said something!
edit: you should be getting an email soon. I forwarded the info to Missy and asked her to send it to you.
If there are any further snags, please let me know : )
Also I can't wait to see what you pick out.

Jimmianne, normally I would nit say anything---me saying something is how much I loved these!

I feel awful about this and just think - if I had not bought a box today and mentioned it, we would still be in limbo.
I almost didn't get a box, and then I almost didn't mention it..
So thank goodness it turned out the way it did!

Hi Girls, I leave this place for a few hours and everyone is here posting!

Missy, Kristie, Marcy and Jimmianne, We all need to take OV shopping. She definately needs a good dose of retail therapy!

Missy, Where are you going shopping tomorrow? Are thing you are on the hunt for anything beside the roomba?

OV, Buy the dress and sandals honey!!!! I know how much you love dresses and sandals...and that color! Sometimes a little retail therapy is just what the doctor ordered. I remember buying a dress my mom didn't like when I was young and going thru a rough time years ago. She asked what ever possessed me to buy it. The only thing I could think was that it made me feel better for 5 minutes. At the time 5 minutes of happiness felt huge to me. You deserve your day of shopping tomorrow. I wish I was able to go with you!

Kristie, I love Bubbles and the color is exactly like Fanta Orange soda. That ring is going to be spectacular. Your pool is so cool! I love your posts!!!! You give the best advice. FYI... I want to go sit at the hair salon with you and wait for the perfect haircut!

Jimmianne, I read somewhere that those rings boxes were difficult to buy but had no idea it was this difficult. There is a large demand for them. I wonder why they don't just keep a good supply of all the colors. They are so beautiful and look like they could easily become an addiction! I hate when I put something in the cart and at checkout get the message that item is sold out. I get that message all the time when Ann Taylor has those sales where everything is 50%!

Callie, whomever set up the ring box site is a genius at marketing.
The boxes are made of 40-100 year old velvet, so color supplies are limited. Then they make the darned things so beautiful.
When you try to pick a color half the boxes are sold out [not just yesterday] so you get eek!ringbox fever. And the photos, good heavens, they are gorgeous.
Amazing! All for 15-20 velvet ring boxes!
My daughter has zero interest in rings, but when I showed her the website she started hyperventilating

and...HAppy SAturday all wonderful NIRDIs!!!
Totally fogged in here - magical. I"m going to Carrboro [that hip suburb of Chapel HIll] to help my daughter stage the MIL apartment in her house for an Air B&B photo shoot. She makes me nervous - often! I don't want her renting out the suite to strangers, but she's a kid who has a good head on her shoulders and all I can do at this point is be supportive.

Joy is getting so sick of living in a Grace pouch in a safe. My bench guy is going to Paris May 1st and promises she will be in a setting before he leaves. I'm tending toward an all-platinum setting with simple design with no colored stones [those can be in future stacking rings].
I would love to have a jeweled "confection", but this will be an everyday ring to wear with blue jeans. I can't believe I just said that. When I started on PS I wouldn't wear a diamond this big to save my life - and now I'm already getting a bit of DSS. So 2.4 carats looks a good size, but a tad small. Insanity  Could Bea be to blame? Will Joy be happy as the little sister?

oh BTW - I think it's OK to post non-identifying personal stuff here. I don't think they are many people outside the thread who would or could possible wade through all this

Good morning NIRDIs!

Jimmianne, those boxes are so pretty! I love that they are antiques in a way. I wonder if I can justify getting one because Greg made a mahogany ring box on for my rings that I love but those velvet ring boxes are oh so pretty and I like the history.

Nice to have to fog all around. It is romantic and mysterious and as you wrote magical at the same time. Like you are in a town in England or Ireland. Pretty! Haha don't know why that came to mind but it did.

Good luck with helping your daughter fix up the MIL suite for renting. When I first read what you wrote I though oh is Jimmianne's daughter married because her MIL will be staying there lol. See what happens when I read faster than my brain can process haha.

You know I think an elegant classic plat setting for Joy would be perfect. She needs to be out and about and not locked away in a safe. Let her out let her out!!! And yes get your jeweler on it before they leave. May will be here before we know it so get going. :naughty:
I am trying to be patient but that is not a strong point of mine. Despite the last year I still am not a very patient person. 8)

I still LOVE and adore PuffDaddyParrot so remember that and should you need a vacation from him I am still available. :cheeky:

I certainly hope other people aren't really reading out thread except perhaps to skim occasionally. I know I have posted lots of identifying info. Though I have nothing to hide per se nor is my life exciting or dangerous in any way so not really worried...should I be? :errrr:
Course it is too late to ask that now hehe.

Callie, not sure what we are doing today. It is not snowing but freezing so outdoor stuff is out and same temp for tomorrow so it's an indoor weekend. Greg is heading to Costco when they open this morning and will be getting the ROOMBA. Though he is skeptical because he is concerned the kitties will hate it and go crazy. He asked me how many pets Jimmianne has lol and I said a parrot and farm animals. He was not convinced it is a good idea for our kitties but we shall see...

Ovi, have an amazing time with your girlfriends this weekend!!! And get yourself something special even if you pass on that dress and shoes. Doctor's orders. :appl:

Marcy/Curby, hope your Friday went well and work was not crazy like it was Thursday. What are your weekend plans?

Kristie, did you send Bubbles to Andrew yet? We cannot wait to see her in her gorgeous setting! And I am sure you are more anxious than us though we are still pretty excited and anxious too. We are right there with you on this journey.

Junebug, how much snow did you end up getting and do you think it will melt so you don't have to shovel? I sure hope so. What are your weekend plans? Is your dh home yet or still away on business? Hope you had a good night and are warm and comfortable. Looking forward to hearing about your new thoughts re that gorgeous emerald ring Callie told you about. So beautiful! I love it for you.

Roomba!
Please tell Greg I have four dogs and a cat. Four dogs sounds like a lot but when I was a foster I had a few more. Now just 2 chihuahuas, a 15 month old Aussie and an ancient red heeler. The Aussie make lots of fluff.
Greg is so sweet to give the vac a try. I hope he likes it. He might not. You might not like it. My feeling won't be hurt. I hope it turns out to be a very useful tool. My animals had a few days of "what the heck?!?!?!" but now don't pay any attention to it. I ignore it so they do too. Good Luck!!!

Hi Girls,

Just cleaning away and preparing for this afternoon, wanted to drop by and wish everyone a wonderful weekend. I keep missing stuff here, where are these ring boxes? I have been wanting really nice ones for a long time but I am pretty sure that they do not ship to Europe, correct? I also missed the link Callie sent to Jubebug.

Yes, here is the thing about retail therapy, yes it gives me pleasure for a short time and yes I will enjoy it later but I want to also think a bit more rationally and only try to get things when they are a good deal and leave money for other, more important things as well. As bad as this sounds now with these proceedings and legal costs I have to be prepared although of course court fees should not be on me in this case. So, we shall see, what is annoying is that my goldsmith's son in law has not arrived yet and my friends are arriving late so I am really not sure how much time we will have for shopping. We are going to a wonderful outlet in Parndorf and then maybe Vienna but in Vienna by that time the stores will be closed. We shall see, not like I cannot buy the dress and shoes on Tuesday if I really want to.

Have a great day everyone and yes thanks Missy for the forward, I finally responded, probably talked nonsense being tired.:)))

OV, hi! Have some fun this weekend. Just the looking is good therapy too!
I wonder if you could find great ring boxes where you are. Do you have good antique stores nearby? I sometimes get vintage boxes on Esty and plan to hunt around locally.
The old boxes are surprisingly tiny. I got one that would not even fit a 5.25 narrow band. I think the Mrs. boxes are tiny also, since they provide a warning about that on the website.

Thanks Jimmianne! My brain is fried from too little sleep because I think I knew you have a cat and dogs. And no, 4 dogs doesn't sound like a lot to me LOL. Remember who you are talking too haha crazy animal lady! If I could I would have many many many more furbabies. My heart wants so many more. There are so many needing loving homes and I know we can give it to them OKOK I digress. Thanks for the info and I will report back when we get ROOMBIE (my name for him and I call Roomba him because men make the best cleaners IMO hehe).

Ovi, YAY your girlfriends are coming and I hear you on the retail therapy. Studies actually show that happiness comes from happy memories and experiences with loved ones over material goods so you are right there. BUT having said that having a lovely new dress and shoes that make you feel and look good cannot hurt. 8-) And as Jimmianne so wisely said looking is fun too...

Jimmianne is right. The velvet boxes are petite. Here are the stats: The ring will fit if it is under-
33mm height (from base of ring to top of stone)

24mm diameter (if your ring is under 5mm thick)

18mm diameter (if your ring is over 5mm thick)

Have fun this weekend and please check in to let us know how you are doing. :wavey:
