Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, the Last Battle sure hit home with me. Good to read but brought tears to my eyes. Not to worry I need a good cry. My dad would be okay with me spending his money on something that expensive. My mom wouldn’t never spend that much money on herself but she understood how much I loved my bling. I decided it was a perfect gift from them because every time I look at my ACA it sparkles back at me and that is pretty cool since my parents were a light in my life.

Sorry to hear Bobby is spitting out his meds and won’t eat. Maybe the injection might be the way to go. Poor little guy.

I hate to hear your ankle is swollen. That is too bad you have problems with your toenail after your surgery.

On to less sad things.

Aren’t those bling socks fun? An employee of mine bought me them years ago.

Greg’s basement is looking fabulous.

Jimmianne, I agree it is probably a defense mechanism that kicks in that we tend to forget all the pain we feel from loss. I wish it would kick in more and more often though. That is so sweet your dog is just hanging in there and enjoying life. That is so important. How cute Issy will go find him and bring him home.

Yes, there is plenty of time for a NIRDI party. I’ve got peach muffins, mini cheesecakes, I can make chocolate chip cookies. Liquor is stocked up. Come on by! Hurry up those since the snow is coming in Saturday. Marty gets back next Thursday then leaves again Sunday.

I got my Snoopy wallet. I love it! I also stopped and picked up 6 different shades of nail polish. They are assorted pinks but they should last me a while.

Tomorrow is Friday. I am so excited.

Marcy

Marcy, I'm surprised. I thought at this early hour the post would be from Scandi. :wavey: HI Scandi!
But no - it's you! up & at 'em. I can see from the last photo that you are winning over the affections of the rabbits. I think that one wants it's nails done! Wouldn't they look cute in little wigs or Jackie O. scarves as well???

How about a hand shot of you in your bling holding your Snoopy Wallet. Cool hand shot prop, yes?

Has anyone here seen The Fifth Element? It is one of my all-time favorites. It's good in so many ways.

here is the result of my first foray into the world of grading : )

Good morning girls! Happy Tax Day (though technically I think it was moved to this coming Monday this year) and Happy Friday!

Marcy, I LOVE your Coach Snoopy wallet. So pretty and smart and sweet! :appl:
I'm sorry the poems made you cry but glad it made you feel better afterwards. That's why I shared them. I thought it might help a little.
Love the teddy bear pics and the pinks you bought are really pretty. Be careful because I see the killer bunny sneaking the pinks away for their use...sneaky rabbits!
I am sorry you are missing Marty but glad he will be home soon even if he won't be home for long...wish we all lived closer!!!
YAY it's Friday!!!

Jimmianne, WOW you go girl! :appl:
I love your attitude re your sweet older dog and your outlook on many things. Enthusiasm for life and enjoyment of all things small and large is a feeling we should never lose. You have your head on straight as do all the NIRDIs. :appl:

I don't remember if I saw the Fifth Element. Thanks for the rec and will check it out.

Rainwood, thinking of you sweetheart and sending more (((hugs))) your way.

Scandinavian, I forgot to answer your work question. We have not yet switched over to the new space and are in the process of being taken over by another health care company so nothing new to report yet. Will keep you posted and hope all is well by you. Thank you for asking.

What are everyone's plans for the weekend? We still have not decided if we are going to the beach house or not. It seems like such a chore to pack everyone and everything up (since I haven't been there since 2015 and have lots of restocking of meds/vitamins/sunscreen etc to do and cannot remember what I have there and what I don't have there) and it is always hard getting started after so many months of staying in one home. And even though a nice sunny weekend is predicted it still will be quite chilly for cycling by the ocean. Not sure what to do...

BUT it's Friday with the weekend coming and woohoo for that! Hope everyone enjoys their TGIF and has a great weekend. :appl:

From last night's security cameras...2 possums meeting. PIL? (Possums in love?)... :cheeky:

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, sorry to hear Bobby is catching on about the medicine in his food and spitting out the pills - you are doing the best you can so hang in there - I know it's traumatic for everyone.

Love the pics of Bea, such a gorgeous diamond and I really love the setting! And Greg looks great in that pic. And you look better in your casual clothes than I do in my good ones haha! Thanks for posting, I always enjoy your pics.

I'm glad David was happy about your skin, that indicates some improvement…but I get that it isn't where you'd like it to be. I'm hoping that the new treatments help and that you can keep serious flare-ups away. And I'm hoping the ankle swelling has gone down, and sorry to hear about your nail issue too.

The poems you posted are beautiful.

Wow, the basement looks great! Things are really coming together.

Cute pic of the possums! Hopefully it's a friendly greeting!

Marcy, sorry you've been having tough days at work, and lol to you holding your bears and saying goodbye to your boss. Please vent about work, or anything else for that matter, whenever you want - it does help to let it out and this thread is great outlet.

I think it's so wonderful that your pretty diamond is such a special reminder of your parents - I truly feel they would be so happy to know it has brought joy and comfort to you. Hugs to you, the loss must still be very hard for you.

Love the idea of a Nirdi party! Who knows, maybe it can actually happen someday

And I love the pics of your jewelry! Looking at pretty bling is one of my favorite things hehe. You have excellent taste and I love your heart shaped diamond. I like the way Marty thinks…go big or go home lol.

Sorry Marty is traveling so much - but you know you have us for company whenever you need it!

Love your Snoopy wallet, what a great find, it's perfect for you! Looks cute alongside the bears, and even the rabbit is ok lol (but I'm wondering how he snuck in there, must have been a truce!) I like your nail polish colors, very pretty shades. And oh, those socks are awesome!

Scandinavian, thanks for your support - yes, I'm hoping having help in will allow me to have a bit of a life. My mother requires supervision and help and it can get a bit grueling and stressful at times. Paying for home care is expensive in this country too; I feel fortunate that dh and I have the funds to cover it. I belong to a caregiver forum, and many of the members and the people they are caring for don't have the funds to hire help and it is very difficult for them. To qualify for government assistance to enter a nursing home in this country you have to have very low income and assets when you apply and your financial records are examined for the past 5 years. Any gifts or transfers made within five years make the person ineligible for Medicaid (government program) for a period of time and thus delays entry into a nursing home for that person. So even entering

I totally understand being very excited about your upcoming trip! It's wonderful to have something to look forward to and makes it easier to handle the mundane aspects of life. I love the dress you posted, SO pretty! It's really fun to buy new clothes, and you will get lots of use out of the dresses you're buying.

I LOVE your necklace! It is so pretty, love the heart shapes and the design is really beautiful and unique, I've never seen anything quite like it and I adore it - it was so sweet of your husband to recreate a necklace you love, and in diamonds! Thank you for sharing it!

Jimmianne, I love the pics of Joy, what a pleasure it is to look at her! The other stone you were considering was pretty too, but I'm so glad you held off and found a diamond you really love. Yes, sparklies are a great distraction. I love the idea of sharing some bling pics and I will post some this weekend.

I wish I could give your elderly dog a big hug! It is so sweet that you are treating him with such kindness, he is lucky to have you. He sounds like such a sweetheart.

Congrats on the grading! It looks like you did a good job so way to go!

Rainwood, hugs to you my friend, I'm so sorry you are going through a rough time - my heart goes out to you for your losses and I'm sending thoughts of comfort to you - the grieving process is a complicated and hard thing and I am sending love and good thoughts as you make your way through it. Please post your feelings in this thread if it brings you some comfort - it does help sometimes to just share feelings and emotions with others. We are all here for you to lend whatever support we can and just to let you know we care.

Thanks for your encouraging words about the family visit - I'm sure once it's underway everything will just fall into place. It's really just a long weekend, so I'm sure the time will go by quickly.

Ok, did my best to catch up :cheeky: Wishing everyone a great day!

Hi, everyone!

Thanks to all of you for your kind and encouraging words and poetry. I really appreciate it. And sometimes what you need arrives on your doorstep. Literally. My youngest niece and her husband were coming down for a court appearance about visitation rights with his daughter from a previous relationship. It's been a long, expensive, and perplexing journey for them, but the court could tell the ex had pulled a lot of shenanigans and told a lot of lies, and gave them visitation starting the next day, but locally. So they're all staying with me for 3 days. It was just the boost I needed. They're all very sweet and she is the cutest 4-year old ever. I do better emotionally when I accomplish stuff because my to-do list is really long, and it helps to have external motivation. I was able to cross off a couple of items that had been bugging me for awhile. I also had acupuncture and a massage yesterday. I'm trying to rehab some problems with my knees and right leg that have kept me from walking for exercise which has also been part of my problem. I'm not sure the acupuncture is helping, but the massage was very helpful. And I think I'm going to go back to a great physical therapist I first saw when I broke my ankle (the reason I weighed in on this thread to begin with). And he's moved his office to a much more convenient location. Yay! I know he'll kick my butt hard enough to get me back on track. And I went to Costco today so that always makes me feel better! I got a couple of items for my Scandinavia trip.

Missy, I sympathize on Bobby not wanting to take his meds. I had a terrible time with Nina toward the end, and she didn't go for the pill pockets either. I eventually gave up because it was so traumatic for both of us, but I still wasn't sure if that was the right thing to do. It's so hard to know sometimes. And he looks so regal in those photos. I can see why he'd be tough to "persuade." I can't imagine Greg being able to stay away from his new his workshop this weekend. That has turned into something Norm Abram would envy (Greg will know who that is). But I hear you on the restocking. I've decided for supplements that I'll just pack a pill pack here every time I go rather than try to keep 2 places fully supplied with fresh supplies. We'll see if that works. And I didn't realize you hadn't been since last year. Time really flies!

Jimmianne, I applaud your grading efforts. Look at you go, girl! You'll be whipping all your property (including the new place) into shape in no time. And I was really touched by your dogs, the youngster looking out for the oldster. It's so hard to watch them grow older, yet not wanting them to leave us either.

Junebug, you're doing the hardest thing a grown-up child can do. Everyone always says to care for yourself too, and we know that is true, but it's hard to find the time and the energy. I didn't do it, and now I'm having to work on the health things I let slide for way too long. And your mother will adjust to having others act as caregivers. Often, it's the change that throws them off as much as anything, and there's no way you can do it all day, every day. You'll have to stay firm on that even when Mom gets difficult.

Marcy, love the photo of the bunnies with your new wallet. When you said it was an LV Snoopy, I was sure I wouldn't like it because I'm not much of a Peanuts fan, but that is really cute and well-done, not over done. Maybe that's the next dog I should get! And hope your Friday was an okay day at work so you get a good start to your weekend. Plus Marty comes home!

Scandinavia, I try to eat mostly organic and am currently trying gluten-free to see if that's what's causing my food sensitivity issues. I'm not celiac, but my body is not happy with something I'm eating so I have to go through the list of the most common foods that cause problems so I've started with gluten and will work my way down the list until I figure it out.

That's all for now. Everyone just came back, and I need to make dinner.

Rainwood, I was so happy to read that your spirits have been lifted a little and you are enjoying your visit with your niece, husband, and little girl. It sounds like their company was just what you needed. You made my night! It's wonderful your niece's husband has finally been able to visit with his child, that is such great news and they must be so excited. I think going back to the physical therapist sounds like a really good idea - sorry you've been having problems with your knees and leg and I'm glad the massage seemed to help.

Thanks for the encouragement, I needed a pep talk right about now lol! It's so true, as much as we know it's important to take care of ourselves we often don't just due to lack of energy and time. It's so easy to spread ourselves too thin and let our health suffer. I know in my heart I will burn out if I don't have a support system so yes, for this arrangement to work my mother is going to have to accept the idea of having someone else care for her on occasion.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Girls! It's a beautiful Saturday morning here at the Jersey Shore and I hope it is where you are too!

Rainwood, so glad you have happy unexpected company these next few days and so glad things are working out better for your niece! And LOL of course I know who Norm Abrams is. Greg and I met him in person in February 2009 and Norm invited us to a Brooklyn renovation project he was doing for This Old House. Let's see if I can find the pic for you of Greg and Norm together on the project site.

greg_and_norm_feb_2009.jpg

I am glad the massage is helping you feel better and I am interested in your thoughts re the acupuncture once you start doing it on a regular basis if you continue with it. I am sorry your knee is still bothering you and I can see where that would put a damper on things so hoping that starts feeling a lot better soon. I think it is a great idea you are going back to your physical therapist. :appl:

We went to Costco yesterday too and going to Costco cheers me up too haha.
We started a conversation with the cashier about her pet Gerbil who swims and does lots of precocious things. She shared the pics from her phone with Greg and me and it was hysterical. She also posted him online but I cannot remember the name of her site now but will add it here when I do. SO adorable.

We have given up on the meds for Bobby and are now at the beach house and he is very happy and eating normally again. Unfortunately our oldest cat Fred stopped being able to jump up on things this past week. :( We have to lift him to eat (I feed them on the counters) and lift him onto the bed too. I am not ready for this as he is not old. He is only about 13 (14 tops but I don't think so) and it is hard to realize he is now unable to climb or jump. We are going to have to start accommodating his needs better. I am going to have Greg build some ramps or something for him so he can get to the places he wants to go when we are not around but you can imagine this is just another challenge and my heart is breaking for sweet Fred. And next week we bring Bobby back to Debbie for blood work and another eval and really hoping his liver is back to functioning well. Just a good reminder that 4 cats is all we can handle when one or two of them start having issues. :blackeye:

Junie, I am glad you are feeling a bit better and more hopeful about things. The circle of life is not easy and sometimes overwhelming for sure. I am glad you belong to a supportive caregiver forum. I find sharing with others who know what you are going through is a huge help not to mention the info they have to share with you can make a big difference. Thank goodness you can afford to hire a professional to help a bit with caring for your mom. I am so pleased you are in a better place emotionally to be able to accept help from others. Professionals and friends and family too. Don't forget about leaning on people you love Junie and asking for help of them too. I remember Rainwood (wise woman that she is) told me when I first broke my leg not to be hesitant to accept others offers of help. People want to help at your time of need. Remember that and let them do what they can. And yes please remember to take care of yourself because only then can you be strong enough to be there for your mom not to mention your dh and children.
Big (((Hugs))) to you and your mom too.

I hope all of you girls are enjoying the weekend and will check back with you later. :wavey:

Hi NIRDIs!

Jimmianne, I don’t go to bed by 11 when Marty is gone - I don’t know why I just stay up longer. I usually regret it in the morning. Can you imagine how my bears would suffer is Marty came home and found his rabbits with nail polish and dressed up all girly? That would be funny. You are giving me bad ideas. A bling and Snoopy wallet shot does sound good - I’ll have to see if I can manage that with one hand. Good idea! You did a fabulous job at grading. You’ll have so much fun with your tractor. I might ask you to come dig me out on Monday. Oh wait if I can’t get out I won’t have to go to work and have all that fun. Both of us love the Fifth Element. It’s a great movie. It has so many great lines and of course Chris Tucker screaming is always worth a chuckle.

Missy, I guess this is tax day weekend. Our local postoffice hands out Payday candy bars till midnight on the day taxes have to be mailed by. Some times those poems are just what I need to release some of that suppressed sadness - if I’m not up for them I just don’t read them. I see something like that on Facebook a lot. I think the bunnies would look great with some pink nail polish. I like the idea. The bears would pay for it though. I am glad you guys went to the beach house. I bet it is a beautiful weekend. It is always a pain to stock up on things for the season. We did that with our RV. I just threw out everything (mostly) that sat there through the winter. I am glad to hear Bobby is enjoying his time at the beach house and doing better. I am sorry Fred is not getting around like he has; I can feel his pain on that. That lady’s gerbil sounds really cute and entertaining. Love the cute possums checking out the kitty shelter. Love your pictures of the cute kitties.

Junebug, a NIRDI party would be awesome. Once Marty talked me in to getting the 1 1/2 carat diamond I warned him it would cost him more money since then all of my sapphires would probably need to be upgraded. I am still working on that project too. The rabbit in my picture with the wallet is one I snagged from his herd. I named it Fluffy because it was a silly name for a killer rabbit. Marty says he allows me to say it’s my rabbit because he is a spy for his other rabbits. Last night at our astronomy meeting I did a power point off my computer and my desktop has a picture of the bears and rabbits on our couch so after I closed out of power point I said “meet the family”. I remember my mom worked for years about the fees her mom accrued in a nursing home. She probably was in one over 5 years and of course ran out of her money almost immediately. The retirement home got my grandma’s retirement check and social security check and my uncle had to pay for her medicine. It is so expensive. I am really glad you are taking the steps to get help for your mom; she probably won’t like it but you have to take care of yourself in this too. I agree with what Rainwood and Missy said about taking care of yourself and accepting help from other people. Hugs to you.

Rainwood, I am delighted to hear your niece and her family came for a very welcome visit. Getting things crossed off your to do list is always a boost to your spirit. I am happy the court saw through the ex’s lies and shenanigans and he will be able to visit his daughter. Since it’s locally that means more visits from your niece. Sweet. I hope your knee and legs start improving. It sounds like you have a good therapist to see. My sister gets massages on her legs and she sure thinks they help her walk. They had the Snoopy wallet in red, brown or black and I didn’t like any of them. I thought the cream color was subtle and Snoopy looked good on it. You couldn’t see him too well on the red or brown and the black wallet had Snoopy in white. I was actually looking online today for new purses but I am so picky with purses I should just go shopping.
Boy, I feel lazy. I am in the den on my laptop and my cleaning lady is on her hands and knees scrubbing our floor. I at least picked up last night and took care of things.

I got my new bowls. They aren’t exactly what I wanted but will hold more salad then the other bowls, probably not more liquid though. The bowls I wanted to replace the lip was straight out. The new ones the lip angles up so while the center part is almost identical I think they will work better. I put my old 12 ones up with my Christmas dishes. I’ll have enough salad bowls now.

I did a program last night on massive stars at the astronomy meeting. It sure generated a lot of questions and discussion. We had a young guy who recently move here show up and join the club. It was nice to have a new face. We have about 60 - 70 members but usually only about 10 of us show up at anything.

Marty went to a mixer with PBS last night and he said it was bad food and cheap booze so a few of them went elsewhere and he had too much to drink. Sounds like he is a bit hungover today. Ha Ha. He is going to lounge around, swim, go to the Apple store then go to the gym.

It snowed quite a bit last night but is mostly on the grass. Right now it’s just windy and cloudy. More snow is expected through Monday with the most accumulation tonight.

Have a great weekend.

Marcy

I agree completely.

Those payday candy bars your post office gives out on tax day is amazing Marcy. I could just imagine them doing that here. Not. LOL. See? While the weather might suck much of the year in Wyoming the friendly and generous people who live there more than make up for it!

Sorry the soup bowls you received weren't exactly what you were expecting but at least you have some new useful salad bowls. :appl:
Glad your astronomy meeting last night went so well and generated lots of discussion. Yay for a fresh new face at the meeting. You sure have a lot of members even though only 10 or so show up to each meeting. I would prefer that as I enjoy a more intimate meeting and it is easier to share with fewer people IMO vs if all 70 members showed up to each meeting.

Sorry about all your snow and that more snow is coming. Stay safe Marcy and enjoy the rest of the weekend. :wavey:

Sharing some pics of our day yesterday. It was too cool for cycling by the shore due to the wind off the ocean so we went to Sandy Hook beach 10 minutes from us instead to enjoy the beautiful weather another way. Here are some early season beach pics.
Today we are planning on doing our first bicycle ride of the season. Still cool but less windy. Wish us luck! :wavey:
Hoping everyone enjoys a wonderful Sunday!

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, I would imagine handing out candy bars at the drive through in NYC would be unreal. We don’t have that many people here. I definitely will use my new salad bowls more than the ones I put up yesterday. Our astronomy club started in 1986 and there are members I’ve never met. They sign up through the mail (our dues are still a bargain at $12) and they never come to meetings. They just want to belong and read the newsletter.

Great beach pictures! I hope you have a fabulous time on your first bike ride of the season.

Marty sat on his deck in Vegas last night at a 11 pm. I responded “blah, blah, blah” to that. I should send him a picture of our deck. Ha!

My satellite dish was covered with snow this morning too but about 11 it must have cleared off a bit so I could finally watch different channels. Good thing I had things to watch on our DVR.

I am making homemade soup today and it’s almost done. I should get several lunches out of it too.

I had a work issue right after I got up that I took care of and I hope I don’t hear from anyone at work again today.

It looks like the Sun is trying to come out. Yippee!

Take care.
Marcy

Hi there everyone!

Missy, how fun that you and Greg met Norm Abrams! I have relatives who live in Bay Ridge and the pic you posted of the brownstone reminds me of theirs. We visited often when I was a kid so it brings back memories.

I don't blame you for stopping the meds, I would have done the same thing, it's just not worth it to traumatize Bobby so much - I'm happy to hear he's doing well and I'm hoping it's a sign he's back to normal  , I'm anxious to hear how he makes out next week when he's reevaluated and will be sending tons of good thoughts and vibes. And I'm sorry Fred is showing signs of slowing down a bit. It sounds like other than that he's in good health so that counts for something. Hugs to you, I know it's not easy to see our beloved furbabies starting to age a little. Love the pics of Fred, he's such a pretty kitty!

I hope you and Greg ended up having a good bicycle ride! Woo-hoo, the first of the season  The pics you posted of the beach are great, really pretty

And thanks for your support! Believe me, I fully realize I will need help and I intend to ask for it, no doubt about it. And it's comforting to know you girls will be here for me - although I promise I won't unload on you too much! Just knowing you guys are here to chat with and for company will be such a help to me.

Marcy, thank you for explaining why Fluffy is in the pic - I don't know that I completely trust him but I'll trust your judgement :D The expense of a nursing home really is kind of overwhelming and scary, I'm sorry your family had to experience it and it's a big issue for a lot of people.

Glad to hear you haven't forgotten about upgrading your sapphire lol! Sounds like your astronomy club meeting went really well, congrats! and yay for a new member! Sorry you are having such lousy weather, I don't blame you for wishing winter would just die already haha. I hope the sun makes an appearance soon. I hope you had a quiet Sunday and weren't' bothered by any more work issues. Sorry the bowls weren't exactly what you had in mind but it sounds like they'll work out ok. I hope the time is going by quickly for you and Marty is home (from sunny Vegas, grrr) soon.

I hope all my Nirdis had a good weekend! It went by fast, didn't it?

Junebug, Fluffy joins in on the normal Killer Rabbit activities for sure so I keep my eye on him. I know the cost of nursing homes is staggering.

I am still hoping to get to Denver soon to check out their sapphires. This time of year they are stocking up for graduation gifts and of course summer weddings - so the sooner I get down there the better selection they'll have.

I did see the Sun today and the guys showed up to shovel our driveway and walks. Rats no excuse to stay home tomorrow. Of course most of the snow on the pavement melted already even though we got about 11" total.

I am actually pretty bored and restless today. I guess that is because I never left the house yesterday or today. I rented 2 movies today. They were both pretty good. One was Concussion and the other one was Mr. Right. I got my nails painted with another one of my new nail polishes. I'd go to bed early but I'd be wide awake at 4 am.

Jimmianne, I actually caught the last hour of Fifth Element today too.

Laters,
Marcy

Hi NIRDIS!
just checking in. It seems with the spring weather things have gotten busy here and I am not on the computer as much. That is a good thing, right?

Marcy, I don't like Sundays - too quiet, usually. Glad that you got to relax and watch some movies. I went to a wine-tasting at my French friends' cafe and invited my bench guy to meet me there, so we had a nice time getting to know each other outside of his workplace. We had croissants & a latte, but no wine.
I drove my little sports car to the event, which I mention because last week I decided to sell it and someone came to look at it on Saturday.
Then I felt as though I wanted to keep it! Anyway, yesterday may have been one of the last times I'll drive it. I love it, but have only put 3000 miles on it in three years, so it seems impractical to use up the garage space and always worry about keeping it clean [and mouse-free!]. If the guy wants it, I will sell it, if he doesn't, I will take that as a sign & keep it. I figure it's a lesson in non-attachment [[[sigh]]].

Today, French lesson and haircut.

Missy, my horse got a corneal ding. The whole eye was cloudy, but after a week of antibiotic optho creams it is clear, but still 1/4th shut and red inside the lid. I hate to call the vet. Last time this happened it was another horse and he actually died due to the drugs. The vet did all sorts of stuff to him which he hated & then the oral meds both disrupted his gut flora & affected his kidneys and he got very ill. SO it was a big mess. I am hoping this will resolve on it's own. I also have her on painkillers and keep her inside during the day. The horse that died was 28 and the current "patient" is 40.
I know if I call the vet she will insist on coming out. Please say a little prayer for my old girl.

BTW the beach looks great! It's beautiful.

Will catch up later.

Hello beauties :-)
I'm so sorry for all my missing updates and comments. The weekend has been very buzzy. I made the longest post this morning, but it is not here?? So a brief recreate:

I have read all your posts this morning, and I have no chance at all of commenting on all that I would like, so I hope for your forgiveness on everything that I forget.

So:

Rainwood. I am so so sorry. Loosing loved ones is a horrible thing. I still miss my dog, even if it is more than 10 years since she passed away. I does get easier. Not that the love goes away, but it gets easier to remember the good things without starting to cry. Hang in there.

Missy, hope your ankle is better? Did you go bicycling? Sounds fun :-) Hope all the test, blood work etc. for Bobby are perfect. I'm so very sorry that your cat is starting to be older and feel the effects of time. But I love that he has you and the idea for some contraction to allow him access to his usual places without having to jump up sounds perfect! The beach pictures are amazing!!

Marcy, hope you will have a really good day at work today! Is Marty back home now? I hate it when my DH has to travel for work, makes me feel lonely, even with 3 children (one of which has a tail..). LOL to having to buy, wash and cook your own food! what is the world coming to?? The snowman dying is fantastic!

June, hope everything is going ok with preparations for your mother coming to live with you. Thanks for info re your health care system. Sounds a lot stricter than here where there is no requirements really, you get what you need if you don't have the money- Your mother is very lucky to have you. Please tell her I said so ;)) And if she doesn't thank you, please tell her again...

Jimmianne, you are soooo good with your new tractor! Impressed!! Hope for pictures of your haircut :-) All my heart and good wishes to your horse!!

The weekend was great and not so good - all at the same time. We went to the last competition for dogs for the season. They compete in mock hunting - i.e. without killing the birds. The dogs should (i) search (ii) find (iii) stand and mark/point the bird (iv) wait for the "hunter" (v) raise the bird (make it fly) on command, and (vi) sit when the bird takes of.

My darling baby (lol new acronym - DB for pets) has a bit of a problem with the last one, it is a very advanced element to teach them, it is against all their instincts and desires. She generally wants to take off with the bird, lol.

So:
Friday: perfect until the last part. I was not active enough (did not run fast enough and did not scream "sit" loudly enough) so off she went.. and thus - home we went before lunch..
Saturday: perfect until a bird took off before I could get to her. I did not see her nor the bird, but unfortunately the judge could see them both... - hotel sweet hotel..
Sunday: perfect. sat down when the bird took off. Then the shot (last element to get a first price) and then the dog took off to... grrrrrr... she has never failed on that one before! So annoyed at my self for not training more on that part. :angryfire:

I took this picture of her before we started to drive home again, and wrote "Sat when the bird took off but took off when the shot was fired - this is what happens then..."

A friend replied that it was the owner, not the dog, that should go to prison.. So I crawled into her travel crate when we were back home and took a new picture of me.. can't post unfortunately, my DH is a bit sceptical of the internet..

But it was good exercise! I was skiing from 9 to 17.30 on Friday, 9 to 18.30 on Sunday, and 9 to 14.30 on Sunday. A friend of ours had two dogs in the same competition, so my DH was supposed to help out a bit with handling. But DH also needed to work a bit this weekend, so when our dog was out of the running, he took her back to the hotel and his computer, lol. And I stayed with our friend. So had a nice long day in the sun regardless of myself, lol. And these other two dogs each got a prize, so at least we had something to celebrate, lol.

Hope for a good day for all!

Good morning girls! How did Monday get here so fast???

Marcy, I am glad the snow cleared a bit so you could at least get some channels on your satellite tv. I love homemade soup especially butternut squash soup and vegetarian split pea soup. When I was single and in my 20s my parents used to come over with quarts of my mom's homemade soup for me to freeze so I could have some of her delicious soup whenever I wanted. When I think of all my parents have done for me and my sister I get teary eyed. I know you girls will get this because I am sitting here thinking now they are older (we all are) and where did the time go? Back to soup. What kind of soup did you make yesterday? Does it go well with peach muffins? HA who am I kidding. What doesn't go well with peach muffins! :cheeky:

Phooey to work issues coming up during weekends and evenings and unexpectedly. Sure hope no one bothered you for the rest of your weekend. And I am glad the sun came out for you yesterday Marcy. Also glad the guys showed up to shovel. Man, 11" of snow in April. Grrrr. Sorry you have to go to work today though. It would have been sweet to get snowed out though in Wyoming I am sure that takes a lot of snow! Sorry you didn't get to go out much these past few days. I get restless too if I am housebound. Don't want to think about all those months I was stuck inside. :blackeye: Did you like Concussion?

Ooh looking forward to hearing about your sapphire adventures soon.

Glad Marty seems to be enjoying some of his business trip but I bet he cannot wait to be back home with you. :appl:
Hugs to you and to Fluffy and the rest of the fur baby gang. 8-)

Junie, Bay Ridge is not that far from us. Probably about 20 minutes or so? They have some great restaurants there.
Please lean on us for support and encouragement and love whenever you want to Junie. Don't hold back for fear of bothering us. I think you know we are here for you always and want you never to hesitate unloading and leaning on us OK? We would never get tired of you!

Someone (Bobby probably) threw up a lot yesterday morning so we will see how things go. Thursday he is seeing Debbie as is Fred because we need to get this newest issue checked out too. Both of them are eating well knock wood. Thanks for checking in on them and for all the kitty love.

We had a good ride yesterday Junie thanks for asking. More on that below.

Jimmianne, Oh I am so sorry about your sweet horse and I get your reluctance to get the vet there but of course I am worried reading what you wrote. A corneal ding? Was it an abrasion or an ulcer? In people mild and even moderate corneal abrasions heal quickly especially with antibiotic drops. An ulcer needs more aggressive treatment and as soon as possible. It doesn't sound good if his eye is still closed part of the way as it means there is something going on...pain, photophobia, inflammation. Honey, I know you had such an awful experience before with your other sweet horse but I think you should call the vet asap to get your horse's eye checked out. I wish I was there and could bring my sister too but since we are not please call the vet and see what he/she says. (((Hugs))) to your horse and you too. Of course I am sending bucket loads and bucket loads of healing PS ***DUST*** his way!!!!

Have a good French lesson today and a good haircut too.

Scandinavian, good going! You rock! That's a lot of great skiing! And please don't be too hard on yourself. You and your sweet dog (DB LOL) are amazing!!
And I love your newest photo addition. Sending hugs and kisses to your DB and you too.

My ankle has been bothering me but nothing that will stop me. My biggest challenge right now is my darned toe but not feeling like chatting about it right now. Maybe one day I will have nothing to vent about but right now that day is not here LOL. ;( But not letting it stop me don't worry! Thank you for asking. (((Hugs))).

Rainwood, I hope you had a wonderful visit with your family these past few days and that you are feeling well. Thinking of you and sending much love and many hugs your way. What are your plans for the week?

We had a great first bike ride of the season yesterday and ran into 2 other couple tandemers who weren't together but we all found each other at the same time. Funny LOL. One of the couples we see often while cycling and always talk about making plans so we have plans for drinks and dinner in June. They have an apartment in NYC as there kids and grandkids live on the upper east side and they have a town home in Long Branch where they stay during the week since they work around there. So they usually do the reverse to what we do. NJ shore weekdays and NYC weekends. But now that the weather is getting nicer they will stay weekends starting in June. I took a quick impromptu pic of the 3 tandems together. Not the best as the sun was in my eyes but you can get an idea of the bikes. I have their permission to post the random shots. I call them my random tandem pics. 8-) In the first pic see everyone admiring each other's tandems LOL. The couple we are "friends" with is the woman in the blue and the man with the blue jersey. Also adding a lovely cherry blossom pic from yesterday.

Greg and I did 43 miles on our maiden 2016 voyage and I am feeling every bit of those miles (especially on my you know what (starts with a V) LOL. First few rides are always a bit tough that way. We are planning on riding today since the weather is supposed to be even better. Going back to NYC tomorrow. The next 2 weekends family functions so no long weekends at the beach house for a while so taking an extra day today to enjoy the weather which is going to be (I think) almost perfect today.

I hope everyone has a good Monday and Jimmianne, please keep me posted on your horse's eye. I am thinking good thoughts and sending healing vibes his way. Please don't wait too long to call the veterinarian. Sorry to be such a pain but now I am very worried and want his eye looked at. (((HUGS))).

Adding a sunrise photo from this morning. Took it from the living room after we fed the kitties this morning.

Hi NIRDIs!

Jimmianne, it sounds like you are busy with your yard and chores which yes is a good thing. I am delighted to hear you had a nice time visiting with your bench guy. How is he coming along on your ring for the asscher? I do the same thing when I try to sell something - I figure if it’s meant to be it will sell; if not I will just keep it. Mine is usually jewelry though. Glad you took your sports car for a spin whether it sells or not. How was your French lesson? Do you like your haircut? Oh no for your horse getting a corneal ding. I hope she gets better.

Scandinavian, Marty stayed over the weekend and comes home Thursday. Then he leaves again Sunday through Saturday. I get pretty bored on weekends when he’s gone but that is my own fault. I always have something I can do. I think our DB did a good job this weekend; she just wanted to make sure she got the bird. Too cute of her being in the kennel. That’s great you got in a lot of exercise this weekend and got to hang out with a friend.

Missy, that is awesome your mom would bring you some of her homemade soup. Comfort food right? I made a beef vegetable noodle soup. It hit the spot on a snowy day. I think peach muffins go with anything. I sure am enjoying them. I did make it to work today - I just plowed right through that inch of snow and ice at the end of the driveway. Ha! I did like Concussion. I’d heard it wasn’t very good but I liked it. Mr. Right wasn’t what I expected but I like it; there is lots of violence though so I wouldn’t recommend it for you. The Teddies and Fluffy say thanks for the hugs. The killers are just biding their time until Marty gets back and they can terrorize me and my bears again. Oh no for one of the kitties getting sick. I am glad they are being checked this week. Yea for the first bike ride of the season. That is great you met up with some other tandems and will get together with them in June. Beautiful tree and sunrise picture.

I wanted to smack all my employees in the head today - I actually cancelled 2 meetings with them because I would have bit their heads off. I am definitely going to remove the one lady from being a team leader. I think I’ll change her title to coordinator. The new gal she trained was verifying things off a print out rather than our source document. I about went ballistic - she said that is what she thought you were supposed to do. I asked who else does that and the team leader is the only one who spoke up and said it saves time. If we had an error because of that she’d be written up for not following procedures.

I had a kids burger meal for supper since I didn’t feel like doing dishes or cooking.

Have a great evening and day tomorrow.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning from Scandinavia :wavey:

Not much going on, a few meetings today at work, and then some more actual work after that. We need a new bed, so will look for that on the way home tonight. Any recommendations?

Marcy, you are so right that my DB dog wanted to get the bird, lol. She is crazy about birds :-) Soup sounds delicious! I get that staying at home alone on the weekends must be boring, I would get very bored. Work sounds horrible. It is so hard when someone is a bit lazy and it is your problem at the end of the day. Try giving them push-ups as punishment.. This weekend when my DB dog went after the bird (despite that I called "SIT" so loudly that I lost my voice, lol), this friend of ours that was there suggested that it was the owner, not the dog, that needed a bit of an adjustment.. and threatened to attach an electric collar on me for speedy adjustments later if I forgot to run+scream+shoot quickly enough.. LOL. Perhaps something for your employees also...?

Missy, how are Fred and Bobby doing? That was some bike ride! I'm impressed! Quite a distance, especially for the first ride of the season :-) Your beachhouse has the best view ever :-) Just so lovely! I understand why you wanted to stay an extra day, it must be difficult to go back ot the city, especially when the weather is soooo good :-) Sun here today also, but a bit cold and some wind.

Jimmianne, how did the haircut go? And the French lesson? Has your French teacher asked you out yet? I have a hunch that he likes you ;))

Hello again. Got interrupted by a meeting. So good later of the day to you all :-) Gotta go, but hope you will all have a very nice day :-)

Good morning! to everyone.

My car did not sell, which makes me grateful. I had the feeling the buyer was not serious - just flirting with the idea - recently divorced. I was never sure about that car. I first bought a stick-shift SUV of the same make, thinking it would be cool & kind of sporty. It is not. It's more like a truck. My enabler friend said - go buy what you really want and see if the sky falls haha. So I did and then felt guilty about the indulgence. But now - I'm officially committed after we were put to the test.
Her license plate reads *JOY* : )

Wonderful haircut. I asked him for a "goddess cut"--- happy hair like a lions' mane so he cut off 4" and layered it. Voila!
and I will NOT be dating the teacher. He gets off topic - a lot - but this week I never even got my lesson. [!]
End of story. [well except that he has a reputation for talking too much, so it's not just me looking like a dumping ground].
I gave my remaining hours to my daughter and recommended she use another tutor in that business.

Today eye exam [for me] and a visit to Tony, who is just around the corner from her, to see the latest CADs. Then French club at the library.
All in my "new" little car haha.

Marcy, did your kids' meal come with a toy?!?!
How's the weather? Listening to all that's going on out your way on NPR yesterday made me think of you.
Sorry about all the work troubles. Why oh why are people so annoying. That is the main problem of working, always. Indeed "Hell is other people". Glad we have us to talk to...NIRDI heaven : )

Missy, that is so cool that you have made tandem friends. I want to hear about your dinner. Do you think that many tandem-riding couples possess like-minded philosophies? It will be fun to know.

Good morning girls. Short on time this morning as we are still at the Beach House and leaving for Brooklyn in a couple of hours after rush hour (hopefully) is over. Very tired but a good tired. Fun cycling weekend and while I am in a bit of discomfort while getting back in the saddle again (haha) it is worth it.

Going to share a couple more pics of the weekend and a Sprite sighting. The ferals are around and Ann the feral cat rescue person who is supposed to TNR the ferals tried again yesterday late afternoon but was only here for an hour. She takes the traps back when she leaves as she doesn't want to leave the kitties in the traps for any length of time. That's good but I don't think she will ever be successful trapping our ferals. They are way too smart. She has had luck with other ferals in the areas around here but not at our location and I think it's because the Soda gang has outsmarted us all. :wall: But I take solace in the fact we are all just doing the best we can and that's all we can do. And with so much else on my plate these days I am pushing it from my mind and letting go of being in control.

We took their food away yesterday morning and Ann asked us to leave it that way until she comes back again later today to try one more time. We will be gone and she promised to put the food back. I sure hope so as we don't plan on coming back for a while because of family functions in NY the next 2 weekends.

Sprite sighting at 6:30 PM last night.

2 pics from our weekend cycling. First one maiden voyage. Woohoo.

maidentandemvoyageapril2016.png

Next pic from our ride yesterday. One of our favorite boardwalks along our ride. It used to be so empty here in Asbury but now it is much more crowded. But Monday afternoon in April not crowded at all. Yay. Reminds me of the good old days here at the Shore before it got to be so popular.

asburyboardwalkapril2016.png

And we turned around in Bradley Beach yesterday. Lots of pain on the way back yesterday. Gotta toughen up my female body parts LOL. The first few rides of the season are the most challenging in that (female) anatomy area.

bradleybeachapril2016_0.jpg

Marcy, glad Marty will be home in 2 days but sad he will be leaving again for a week. Wish we were there to keep you company IRL but we are just a click away. Remember that OK? I always appreciate texting with you and you always cheer me up and make me laugh and I am here to do the same for you.

Oh no to your incompetent employees. Smart idea to change the team leader of the group who is teaching all the newbies her bad habits. That will infect the whole group so better to nip that in the proverbial bud ASAP.

How's the weather by you now? Is there more of that 4 letter word in the forecast or are you safe for the time being? Glad getting to work yesterday was not much of an issue and now hoping for clear roads from here on in. Have a good Tuesday!

Scandinavian, sounds like work is busy for you now and hoping the day goes well. Bobby and Fred are holding their status quo so just waiting for their health eval on Thursday. Poor Greg's work week is being quite interrupted by our personal life but fortunately he does not compromise on the quality of his work and always does an excellent job. Like you and all the NIRDIs. Multitasking skills excellent. :appl:
How is your DB doing today? Give her an extra hug and kiss from me OK?

Jimmianne, big (((hugs))) to your Gypsy and I hope she is feeling much better today. I am anxious about her health and hoping she makes a full recovery. I am relieved your car didn't sell as it doesn't seem like you wanted to sell it so it worked out for the best. Glad you got a lovely haircut. And glad you managed to fit an eye exam in there too. How was your French club meeting?

Yes the tandem couple we know (the other couple we don't know they just came upon us that day by chance) are like minded with 2 homes. One in the Murray Hill section of NYC and one at the shore. But they do the reverse of what we do. NJ weekdays and NYC weekends. Until the summer that is when they stay much of the time at the shore. They have relatively new grandchildren who live in NYC on the Upper East side so they do spend a lot of time visiting them and that takes away from their tandeming these days.

Hope all you girls are doing well and having a good week. Hope to catch up some more later. (((Hugs))).

Jimmianne, LOL to the French teacher :-) I think you made a good call there :-)

Missy, I really love the pictures :-) My DB is doing very well today, a bit more awake than yesterday when she just wanted to sleep, lol.

Hi girls! Feeling a little tired and just sort of *blah* today but I wanted to check in with everyone -

Missy, I'm glad you enjoyed your first outing even though you're a bit sore! Wow, you guys covered a lot of ground. Love the pics of you and Greg, you both look terrific and it's so great that you ran into other tandem bicyclists. It will be fun to get together with the one couple in June, they sound nice and it seems like you have some things in common. Your sunrise pic is so pretty.

I'm hoping Ann is successful with the TNR but as much as I would love for it to work out, I'm feeling like you right now, I just think these kitties are too smart to fall for it at this point. You are doing all you can for them, that's for sure, and you supplying food and water has really helped them so much. Great pic of Sprite, what a beautiful kitty!

Thanks for being so nice about me venting once in a while! I promise I won't take advantage but I appreciate that you will be ok with me occasionally letting off a little steam. I think I'm going to need it ha.

Jimmianne, I'm glad you rediscovered your car and are enjoying it. Sounds like you had a nice time with your bench, and I'm looking forward to seeing your new setting. I'm glad you were able to take a break from the computer get some things accomplished, that's a good feeling. I'm happy to hear you love your haircut. Lol to your French teacher talking too much! I know a few people like that as well. I'm keeping your sweet horse in my thoughts and am hoping she completely recovers from her eye issue.

Scandinavian, I'm sorry your DB had a little trouble in the competition - Don't be too tough on yourself, it sounds like a very difficult task; as you said, it goes against all her instincts. Lol to your friends saying it's the owner, not the dog! I agree with missy, I think both you and your doggie are doing a fantastic job. And I'm glad you were able to do lots of skiing and spend time with friends, sounds like a lot of fun. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, it is very comforting and I appreciate your kindness SO much. I hope work is going well for you and that all is good with your sweet family.

Marcy, I'm so sorry you had a particularly rough day at work, managing people is just so very difficult and frustrating at times. I'm excited about your sapphire upgrade, I hope you can go shopping for it soon. I hear you on not wanting to deal with dishes and cooking - if I lived by myself I would just eat sandwiches for dinner. Actually, I guess I already do that a lot lol.

Rainwood, I'm thinking of you and hope you're feeling ok!

Thinking of you all and hope everyone is having a good day!

Thank you Scandinavian and Junie! Just taking a quick break from chores and errands. Got back to Brooklyn a couple of hours ago and just finishing stuff so I'm ready for my workweek (such as it is lol) tomorrow.

Scandinavian, glad your DB is getting some much needed rest and don't work her too hard OK? She is such a sweet girl!
Like her mama.

Junie, honey big (((hugs))). I'm sorry you are feeling blah and wish I could brighten up your blah into another word that starts with b and l...yes you got it BLING! :appl:
Wish I could give you a big hug in person but for now hope my virtual hugs will do.

slider_grouphugg.gif

Ann is at the house right now. Greg just called me to let me know as he is watching the security camera. I am most concerned about her leaving food before she leaves today as the kitties have been without food since 6AM yesterday. I don't like starving them and it gives me a lot of anxiety. I have noticed as I get older I am even more sensitive than I was when I was younger about things. I was always sensitive but it is much worse now. What a pain. I was worried the whole trip back about the feral kitties and the food and I just hope Ann follows what I told her and also uses her common sense and feeds them before she leaves today. We left both gravity feeders full of food in the storage chest right near the feeding station. OK my worry vent is over. For now.

Back to you Junie. Is there any specific reason you are feeling a bit down or just everything mushed together? Sending you happy vibes and good energy and lots of love.

Hope everyone is having a good day and (((HUGS))) to all you girls.

Aw thanks for the hugs missy! Nothing specific, just life in general I guess…just one of the days! But thanks for the good wishes, they helped lol. And yes, a little bling would probably cheer me up even more ha! I was going to have a chat with dh about soxfan's pretty marquise ring over in pre-loved but it sold…probably for the best (I'm sure dh would feel that way :cheeky: )

I really hope Ann puts the food back too, I think she will. I'm glad Greg can at least monitor the house so you know for sure. I know what you mean…I've always been a bit of a worrier and I thought it would lessen as I got older, but unfortunately it's gotten worse! ;(

Aww Junie. You are a dear person. So kind and generous and sweet and nice! I mean it from my heart. You are all those things. You deserve any and all bling!!!!! When it is meant to be it will happen... And yes the worry is increasing with each year, each month, each week. and :knockout: Sorry it is the same for you. At least we are in good company right? :cheeky:

OK there is new news.

OMG Sprite was trapped a little while ago at about 3:45PM. So traumatic for him and me! Greg called me as he was watching the security cameras and told me to call Ann because she was nowhere in sight. I tried her like 5 times before she finally picked up. She didn't recognize my Brooklyn phone #.

Thank goodness she picked up and she turned right back to get Sprite. He is traumatized but OK. So stressful. The neuter appointment is April 29th so a long while away. She has 6 slots open and she has 3 cats right now and can trap 3 more. She put the food back as she cannot trap the rest of the week and will start again next week. She is covering a number of areas so not sure she will come back to try for the others in the soda gang but whatever she can do is greatly appreciated that is for sure. Of course I am so anxious about sweet Sprite but fingers crossed he remains safe, healthy and comfortable and will get through this ordeal safely!

Weird thing though and IDK what to think. She told me she trapped one of ours last night too but we were there the whole time she was and didn't see any kitty getting trapped last night. She also told me she left me a message on my mobile when it happened but I have no message from her or call from her either. Weird and the description of the cat she said she trapped last night doesn't fit any of the cats in our soda gang. I don't know what to think and we are more than happy to pay for more cats believe me. That is not a concern of ours at all just concerned if she is lying why would she lie? Greg and I were home the whole time she was there last night from 5:30-6:30 and had the security pics from that time. Nothing. At all.

She was highly recommended to us and I know she does animal rescue so I am not doubting that but you know a little part of me is so worried about the safety of our ferals in the hands of this woman I don't know.

Anyway this is good news. Sprite is on his way to getting his neuter/spay, rabies vaccination and flea/tick medication and hopefully all our ferals will get neutered and not add to the feral cat colony multiplication problem that is everywhere.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings girls.

Sprite from last night just so you remember which kitty he is.

Just saying hi girls.

Took a day off. Had a nice brunch with DH and mostly chilled out and cleaned up my desk, which I need to continue. Lots has gone on and I confess I only read this page.

Hope you all and the furbabies are all doing well today.

Hi NIRDIs!

Scandinavian, yea for not going on at work today. I wish I could say that. Ha Ha. Good idea to make my employees do push ups. I like it. I got after the team leader today for not only violating procedures but teaching it to the new lady. She argued with me but shut up when I pointed out she does it again and I’ll write her up. LOL to what you friend said about the owner and putting a shock collar on you. That is too funny.

Jimmianne, now you won’t have goodbye sports car anxiety. Sweet. I love that your plate says JOY. I want to get CURBY but we can only get 4 letters on plates here. I am glad you like your new haircut. I sure need to go get mine trimmed up layered again. That’s too bad the French instructor talks too much and gets off topic. There is a guy at work I dread running in to when I am on my way to the little PS room - it’s like NOT NOW! I have an eye exam Saturday. I want new glasses and probably need a new prescription as well. I did get a toy in my kids meal - it’s a little robot or something. We had rain this evening so I hope it doesn’t turn in to snow later. It was pretty chilly after work. I wish I knew why other people are so annoying. Have you been doing anymore work with your tractor?

Missy, is rush hour ever really over in Brooklyn? I’d probably set in my car and cry. I love your cycling pictures and I am so delighted you got to get out for some rides this weekend. Sorry you are kind of sore but you will get used to riding again soon. Beautiful scenery in the background too. The soda gang have it pretty good thanks to you and Greg so yes they aren’t going to give that up willingly. Sprite looks pretty healthy and content. I am sure Sprite will come through his surgery okay. I think its a positive sign Ann is actually trapping the cats and coming back again. I am so tired of my babysitting chores, I am debating my options and will get Marty’s input but they aren’t going to like me much in about a month. We are getting mostly rain and warmer weather this week. Woo hoo! Thanks for keeping me company even if Marty is home; I appreciate it.

Junebug, sorry to hear you are having a blah day. I hope the world is looking better to you tonight. Big HUGS to you. :wavey: Please feel free to vent away and you can always email me anyway. Sandwiches sound good - Marty never wants them and after we spent about 10 days with his parents one time I could see why. They picked up the huge packs of lunch meat and cheese from Costco, bought generic bread and generic chips and they put that out every day for lunch. I was pretty sick of those sandwiches by the time we came home. I do hope to go shopping soon.

LLJsmom, good to see you here and I am glad you chilled out today.

I left work by 5:30 today and haven’t checked my work email once tonight. I found a few massive updates last night so worked about 2 hours last night getting them done. 40 minutes of it was trying to get the updates to print out right so I could read them. I tried off my phone, iPad and laptop. I finally copied the info on my work laptop, pasted it in to Excel then emailed it to myself. I need to have Marty get our printers set up on my work laptop.

I stopped at the mall and had a burger at Five Guys. The amount of fries they give you for a small order is obscene. That place has fabulous lights for diamonds though. I am wearing my Tiffany band today and the little scattered diamonds in my band and ering really popped in there. Ooh something to look at while eating supper.

Marty texted me this afternoon saying his feet hurt from walking and standing so much. I told him too bad he isn’t home to wear his bunny slippers and for me to make fun of him. Mean aren’t i? :saint:

Take care.
