Now I really did it :((

HI:

Healing vibes to all humans and furbabies!!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

We’re back at Adam’s, it was a long drive and I’m really tired, so I’ll have a proper catch up tomorrow.

Hope you’re all well :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

Jimmianne, Marty enjoyed his concert. He wore jeans and a t-shirt. It was at Red Rocks; hot until the sun goes down then it gets chilly. I have no idea what is on your plate but it looks very nice.

Missy, I really like my iPad Pro. I am quite happy I bought it. A friend of mine said she was going to buy a new tablet so she came over last night and bought my old iPad. Her work laptop is a Mac Air but all of their stuff is windows, android and google. I told her welcome to the dark side. The feral feeder looks amazing and your sunset pictures are gorgeous. I am so sorry to here Francesca isn’t feeling well. Sending her hugs and mega dust.

PierreBear, those little things are important and nice to have. Always good to step back and have some perspective. I did enjoy the piano and I actually played by ear which my piano teacher figured out because I’d have her play the piece for me first and always did better than if I was reading the notes myself. Do you think I could do that now? Heck no. The flute plays such pretty music.

Junebug, don’t those aches and pains kind of scare you? It’s like what now? I have horrible knees but last night I stood up “wrong” somehow and my right knee was painful and barely worked for about 90 minutes. I gimped around the house, got ready for bed, put apercreme on it then used an ice pack. I figured I’d be working from home today or calling in sick and when I got up to go to bed it was it’s normal achy self. I can tell there is a tender spot today but considering how bad it was last night I am surprised I’m walking today. Marty did enjoy the NIN and I am enjoying my new iPad. Darn that your laundry is piling up; noticed mine requires some attention. The flooding is so awful and they say some of the rivers haven’t peaked yet.

Sharon, I saw a headline that Canada has had it’s snowiest September ever. Oh oh. Your sailboat picture is very pretty.

Tekate, you are going to have a houseful for Thanksgiving but it will be fun.

Sandeek, I am glad your blood work was normal and woo hoo for one more hyperbaric treatment and good luck with the specialist.

I gave my employee his employee consultation yesterday; he didn’t say a single word. He and I met with a HR rep who was on the phone and when we’d ask him a question he’d shake his head. I had to say “Diane can’t hear you shake your head.” He didn’t apologize, didn’t say I won’t do it again. Nothing. Joy! The two mean girls have been tattling on each other all week. Kids these days.

I am enjoying my new iPad which I am off to play with now.

Laters,
Marcy

Austina, I am glad you made it back to Adams okay. Hope you had fun catching up with your friends.

GM girls!

@marcy good going selling your iPad to your friend. I know you will love the iPad pro. Haha yes welcome to the dark side for your friend if she doesn't have any apple products. I know I was resistant at first to get involved with apple products but once I did I never looked back. It is addictive. :shifty:
Thank you for the mega dust and hugs for HRH Francesca. She is still under the weather. Spitting up food, coughing and experiencing breathing issues. We are riding it out and monitoring her and hopefully she can fight this and recover without intervention. Please continue thinking good thoughts for her and sending hugs and healing dust. Thank you so much dear Marcy...very much appreciated. Francesca is meowing thank you and also wants you to know she loves your new purrrrrty pink sapphire dangles...speaking of which have you been wearing and enjoying them yet?

Weird employee consultation and boo to mean girls tattling on each other. The whole office vibe is negative but glad you do not let it affect you Marcy. You rise above and bring light and good energy everywhere you go. You rock!

@canuk-gal thank you for the healing vibes for everyone here including Francesca. She says you are purrrrrrrrfectly delicious and kind to think of everyone here. Meoooow. Hope you are enjoying the rest of the week.

@Tekate how did it go with the Infectious disease doctor yesterday? Hoping you received good news fingers crossed. How exciting you are going to have a full house at Thanksgiving. And OMG I cannot believe it's around the corner. Time is flying by. How generous you pay for flights and lodging for your family. Glad your weather is lovely and hope you are enjoying more wonderful weather during all of autumn. Which begins tomorrow. Wow. And yes you are more than welcome to enjoy the Sweet Potatoes with us, please do! I will have (Greg prepare) a fresh batch ready and waiting for you when you arrive.:appl:(((Hugs))).

@Sandeek YAY for all normal blood work! How long do you anticipate you will continue on the Amoxicillin? Are you taking a probiotic? Though new research brings into question if it is helpful or not I think it cannot hurt yanno? I hope your appointment with your Maxo facial reconstruction specialist went well yesterday. Only a couple more days of Hyperbaric treatments and before you know it done with that for now at least. One day at a time. And once you are finished with the surgery you can finish those hyperbaric treatments for good hopefully. Hoping everything went smoothly yesterday. (((Hugs))).

@Austina hi there, so glad you enjoyed your visit with your friends and that you are back at Adam's now and I cannot wait to hear all about what is happening. Are people enamored with Bella? Is anybody noticing her on your finger? We are meeting friends tonight and I wonder if they will notice Bubbalah. I will not be drawing any attention to her as these friends are not jewelry people and I almost hope they do not notice lol.

Greg had a wonderful time last evening and of course was a hit with everyone there. That's why he is always invited back each year to speak to everyone. We are off cycling again today with this continued wonderful weather this last full day of summer. Plans with friends later and looking forward to it all. We are less than 200 miles away from our 3K cycling goal but probably not going to reach it this weekend and then back to NYC Monday. But hopefully we still have some good weather in store for cycling in the weekends ahead. And no matter we are having fun reaching our goals as it is the process (but I am very goal oriented haha). Enjoy this lovely Friday ladies and sending hugs to each and everyone of you who are reading. XO.

Leaving you with a scene from our cycling adventures yesterday. What a difference a day makes. Wednesday was crowded on the beach (probably because it was the Jewish New Year and people were off from work and school) but yesterday was a different story. Empty beaches and peaceful scenery. And of course splendid clouds. Love the puffy white magical clouds.:kiss2:

@missy aww I will make sweet potatoes mouseline, I always do, I'll do it for you. My nephew's wife is pregnant and I don't know when the baby is due, but I want to get to Brooklyn before that! it's a time when parents should be there and while my sister is not here anymore but brother-in-law is, my niece, my nephew's in-laws are still working so they will be there for a while.. but I'm expected the baby to arrive in late winter (april? mar?) so we shall see. Hey, the kitty feeders loooook awesome! I'm sorry about Francesca.. sending good healthy dust to your kitty! ID doc said that I will remain on clindamycin for 6 more weeks then I have to come off because it causes c-diff (ugh) then go back on the doxycycline as it's not as prone to c-diff. Marcy you will love this: She said that 99% of people grow out of their allergy to amoxicillin as an adult, but a few (ME) continue, she said 'maybe you are still a kid' ohh my husband loved that with a large YUP! he's a good guy. Glad Greg had a great presentation, love your pix!!! of your rides.. so pretty!

@marcy managing people is hard hard hard.. I never liked it as I was the type of manager who did it herself rather than counsel but I shouldn't have. I always found that employees were incredulous they could do wrong! hmm I am better as a contributor, in my own office than managing wanky kids :) Glad you like the Ipad!

@Austina glad you are back at your boys home.. how's the weather? Chilly today in Maine.. Texas is a BIG STATE :)

Be back later gotta walk my Salley baby!

:) xo

Hi everyone!

Missy, I'm so sorry Francesca is under the weather and I'm sending lots of love and healing dust to her. It does sound like a cold and I'm hoping she's doing better soon. Congrats to Greg on his successful speech! Dinner sounds delicious and yay to leftovers. Love your pic of the beach! Have fun cycling, and even if you don't reach your goal you have still had a lot of good times on the bike with Greg. And have a lovely time getting together with your friends.

@Tekate, sounds like you are going to have a very fun Thanksgiving! It's great to be surrounded by loved ones during the holiday and nice to have something to look forward to. Lol to your son doing you proud! How have you been feeling in terms of pain? You sound better but have been thinking about how you're feeling.

@Sandeek, great news about the blood work! I hope your appointment went well, sorry to hear you have to endure this surgery but you sound like you're in very good hands. Hang in there and take care of yourself. Rest when you can. My daughter has been very busy getting the school year started so I have some idea how busy you are too.

@marcy, it's great you love your new ipad! Congrats on selling your old one. And yes, those aches and pains do scare me, I'm always thinking Ugh, what now?" I'm really glad your knee pain subsided, I totally get how stressful it is. Nice that Marty enjoyed the concert, my son loves music and going to concerts too. Dh proposed a trip to Las Vegas to see Aerosmith next year and he was shocked when I said "yeah, ok, I'll go" because I usually say I don't want to go anywhere. He mentioned the other day "gee, this is going to be expensive" and I said "well, from now on don't ask me if I want to go anywhere!" I guess I called his bluff. Who knows if we'll end up going. You really do have your hands full with a few of your employees, I can see what a headache it must be sometimes. Thank goodness for ipads and bling to help distract you from it all! :P2

@Austina, glad you made it back to Adam's with no problems, and I hope you got a good night's sleep. You must be having a blast wearing Bella during her US debut! :appl:

Just the usual here, have a few errands to run and a few phone calls to make - have a lovely day all! <3

Popping in @junebug17 Hi Junie! I am feeling pretty good and thank you so much for asking! Glad you liked my little story of my son and his somehow upgrades when we are paying, LOVE HIM, but this when I knew that he was devious and just like me! We always remit and he brings us total joy. Thank you so much June for asking about me!

Hello lovelies

I’ll try and remember what I’ve read :D

Good news on the blood tests @Sandeek, let’s hope this is the beginning of the end of all your treatments and you’ll soon be all fixed up. I hope school is going well and not causing you any added stresses.

Hey @Tekate - the weather here’s been weird. It was beautiful in Aledo, but when we got back here, oy, it poured down, and so windy. Sounds like you’re going to be really busy over Thanksgiving with all your guests, fun but exhausting! Have you stopped itching now?

Hi @Jimmianne did your place in NC get through unscathed? How was your other gastronomic adventure?

What a stroke of luck that your friend bought your iPad @marcy I ‘think’ I have an iPad Air- Adam gave it to me, and transferred everything from my previous one. I tell him I’m glad all that money spent on his education hasn’t gone to waste  Are your pretty pinkies getting lots of outings?

We stayed at the Palazzo in LV @junebug17 and I can thoroughly recommend it, if you do go next year.

Glad it all went well for Greg yesterday @missy poor Little Francesca, I hope she’s not too snuffly or in discomfort. Can you give kitties any kind of cold remedy like humans? I know dogs can have Benadryl to treat kennel cough.

Wow, you’ve certainly racked up the miles this year, hoping you have good weather to reach your goal this weekend.

My friends were  :-o  when they saw Bella

Any news on the piano @PierreBear ? Sounds like the tuner enjoys his work. In the UK, it’s actually quite common for piano tuners to be blind, I suppose losing one sense heightens another.

Did you make bread in class this week :lickout: ?

I’m pleased to report that both Bob and Shirley looked considerably better than last time, and Shirley seemed less vague and ‘out of it’.

We actually ended up going the back way, which was so much better than on the I35. Hardly any traffic, and nice scenery. I was a bit wary when the SatNav directed us down some fairly small roads, but I followed the directions and we got there in 3hrs 32mins. Took a bit longer coming home because we hit some rain, but it was fine. I’d definitely use that route again.

Tom emailed to say Dottie is fine, and he’s enjoying having her. He actually said ‘nothing much to report, Dottie is being Dottie’

I slept well last night, I was sooo tired. We’re off to Costco soon, will try not to spend too much

:wavey:

Austina, I wish I could have been there when you showed Bella to your friends! Have fun at Costco!! Full report, please.
The weather has changed here from sunny bright hot to cool grey rainy. The french neighbors who holiday here have closed up their houses and the mass of tourists has disappeared. My house is warmer, 50 outside & 70 inside, thanks to the new door. Before I installed the new door I spent a lot of time in one room with a space heater or in bed.
No wonder the previous owner left 20 woolen blankets in the cupboard.
I think creature comforts are something we can take for granted, at least I do.

Happy day, NIRDIs <3

:) xo

@Tekate that sounds super yummy but I don't want you going to any trouble for me...Greg more than cooks enough for me and as you know takes good care of me. I want you to focus on you and getting all better. And yes I would love to meet with you when you visit your nephew and his wife for such a happy occasion. Good idea to get off the Clindamycin before it causes C diff issues and doxy is relatively safe. I have been on 40 mg (granted a supposed sub microbial dose) daily since 2006 and so far so good.

Thank you for your well wishes for Francesca...I *think* she is improving a bit albeit quite slowly...still coughing and spitting up but maybe a tad less and also she is purring more now thank goodness. Hoping that continues... Fred is still having litter box issues and went on our white carpet but I am not worried about the rug. Only Fred. He is getting old and we are just trying to make him as comfortable as possible. Life is hard and cruel and we are doing our best to give him the max enjoyment while he is still here. My heart breaks at the thought of what is to come so just taking it one day at a time and enjoying our time together.

Thank you for enjoying the photos I share. I enjoy taking them and sharing them with you girls. (((Hugs))).

GM girls!

@junebug17 thank you sweetheart. You are always so kind and warm. (((Hugs))). It means so much to me. We had a great bike ride yesterday thought it kicked our butts because the winds were from the South at 18 mph so we cycled South first (as it is better to get the hard cycling done in the first half of the ride) and it was slow going...took us over 6 hours to cycle 40 miles LOL.

Hope you got your errands done yesterday and enjoyed a wonderful Friday. What are your weekend plans?

@Austina haha yes I thought that might be their reaction when they saw Bella! My girlfriend noticed Bubbalah almost immediately and surprisingly she went gaga over her. My friend K is not a bling girl so that reaction was out of the norm but genuine and it made me smile. She is a no frills sort of woman and very real so when she says something I know she means it. Hope you are enjoying the rest of your time with Adam and Kim and so glad Dottie is doing well though I am sure she is missing her momma and her poppa.

@Sandeek I hope you have a good weekend in store and are feeling well. Hope your appointment went well with the doctor and I am thinking of you and sending continued well wishes your way. My friend K is a teacher and she is doing something new this year and loving it. She is teaching math and english to a few students each period. Private tutoring and it is a change from the teaching she used to do and she is at her same school. She was in admin for a few years but prefers one on one teaching and she really is enjoying her new role. Hope you are engaged in your work and loving being back. (((Hugs))).

@Tekate please tell your nephew and niece we are sending good wishes to them for an easy and uneventful healthy pregnancy. And your Thanksgiving plans sounds wonderful. I hope we get to see you sometime this winter. Something to look forward to during the cold winter months...have a lovely weekend sweetie. XO.

@Jimmianne yay so pleased the new door is insulating you well. And thinking of you...reply sent by the way. XO.

We had a great bike ride and as I wrote to Junie it kicked our butts. Literally and figuratively. I was exhausted after fighting the wind all those hours. Went home had a bath and met our friends B and K for dinner and dessert and it was a beautiful evening. Weather humid but not hot and a gentle breeze. After dinner we walked to Days and had ice cream. Haha I never had ice cream there in the evening and it took Dave (the owner of Days) time to recognize me without my helmet haha. B took 2 photos of us (he is a photographer as well as dentist and he did our wedding photos too) and sent them to me in black and white with an old time feel. Love them and will share them below.

Have a great Caturday Saturday girls and from my furry crew to you and yours sending purrs and hugs and meowwy love.

and of course the obligatory car selfie going to the restaurant to meet them last night.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, fingers crossed that HRH is on the mend! And sending Fred lots of love too. Great pics of your night out, very glad you had such a good time with your friend. Hope you and Greg have a great weekend.

@Tekate, so glad to hear you are feeling ok!

@Austina, thank you for that rec! Will be interesting to see if we end up going. I'm happy to hear your friends are doing better, I remember you being concerned about them. So fun that your friends were wowed by
Bella  Nice that you had a good trip back to Adam's. Have fun at Costco and enjoy your weekend!

Jimmianne, congrats on the new door and I'm glad it has helped warm the house up. I really enjoy hearing about your time in France, it's fun and really interesting to share in your experiences.

Quiet weekend here, no special plans and will probably just watch some golf and go out for something to eat with dh.

Happy first day of Autumn!BE16FAC9-7DF9-40F4-8B97-A635180F733C.jpeg

@junebug17 thank you! going down to 39 tonite, yay!!!! :)

@missy hope you are feeling okay and the kitties are doing well? hope so.. planning on a visit for sure.. xoxoxoxo .. we too had a LOT of wind here in Maine yesterday.. it was chilly, today I cut bushes that I hadn't cut in 3 years. A MESS. I will tell Danny you are sending happy good vibes, my nephew makes furniture and I am thinking maybe your hubby and Dan would have something in common, my nephew didn't go to law school but he did go to Penn State! ;-) I soo hear you Missy on our pets, as they age it becomes so sad because we get to live much longer without them :(

@Austina my bestie friend lives in northwest Austin and she said to me yesterday and I quote: I AM SICK OF RAIN! :) so I hear you.

@Jimmianne stay warm! I am sure this is the best time to be in France - after the tourists go :)

have a great rest of the day my friends!

Hi NIRDI’s! I’m so far behind.

Missy, great photos and now I really want ice cream. You and Greg always look great and are such a cute couple. I am glad you had fun with your friends and ugh to riding in the wind. I am a total Apple fan too. We have Windows products at work and I often say “how lame” when it doesn’t work like my Mac. I will continue sending mega dust and hugs to Francesca and Fred, I am glad you can call your sister anytime. I have not worn my pink dangle earrings for a week now. I will remedy that on Monday. I dug out my EC stuff after seeing LJsmom’s pictures and videos. I think I am going to talk to each and every employee in our one on ones about making sure they aren’t contributing to the negativity in that room. I so wish I could move them out of there. If they were in the cube farm they wouldn’t be in a 8 x 14 (or so) room together for 40 hours a week. You are getting so close to your 3K goal. SWEET!!!! I am not surprised Greg is a hit and they always ask him back every year. And he doesn’t even take them apple pie.

Tekate, that will be nice for you to go help out when the baby arrives. Sounds like our husbands enjoy agreeing with things that would indicate we are still “kids”. Too funny. We just had a similar discussion in the car moments ago. I am totally with you on management. I often fix their little mistakes just to avoid the hassle. I’d way rather just come to work, put my head down and do my work. This babysitting is such a pain. I hope you and Salley had a lovely walk. I am delighted to hear you are feeling good. Woo hoo! Oh no to a bad wind storm and damaged trees.

Junebug, I totally chuckled at “what now?” that sure goes through my head frequently. Thank you, I am relieved my knee pain went back to it’s normal range. It makes sense your DS loves music; how is his band doing? Marty was sad he wasn’t good enough at music to do anything with it; he does love it though. He’d go to concerts anytime, anywhere. That is awesome you and you husband are going to Vegas to see Aerosmith. Have you been to Vegas before? Your husband’s comments about how expensive your trip will be reminded me of our Pebble Beach trip. We ended upgrading our rental car first thing and I pointed out “well we didn’t come here to save money”. We lived up to that expectation for the next 8 days. I love the cute picture of the kitty and pumpkin. Fall has arrived.

Austina, that’s good Adam takes care of your iPad for you. I had a few setups I needed Marty to take care of last night. Since we got our new router the backup drive for my laptop has been offline so he fixed that. Then he set up a VPN we could access remotely for our security cameras and we can’t get it to work on my iPad Mini (I use it at work). I also set up my iPad as a new iPad rather than copying my iPad Air so the music didn’t show up. I’ll have to figure that out but since I have the music on my phone that is probably fine. I also have Prime music so that works. I haven’t worn my pink sapphires for a week; I’d best fix that. That is awesome your friends loved Bella. Good news your friends seemed to be doing better. It sounds like the roads less traveled was a good call on the way back; less traffic and nice scenery. That’s nice Tom let you know Dottie is doing well.

Jimmianne, does your house have a heater? It sounds cold in there for you girl. Is fall typically a rainy season there? I was chilly last night sleeping; we got down to the 40’s over night. The house was maybe 68 - 70 degrees but of course that is chilly to me. Stay warm!

We had our astronomy meeting last night. i did a program on the Spitzer Space telescope. Now this is a topic i don’t know enough about to just “talk” so I had notes that I read. I am SOOOO bad at that. I worry it’s boring so then I talk fast, which leads to mispronouncing words or skipping words. Marty and a friend of our were giving me crap - slow down, breathe, don’t be monotone. Naturally i said - fine you guys give the program next month. Ha!

I am almost done with laundry. We went out to lunch then picked up some groceries. My boringdayometer is pegged.

Take care. :wavey:
Marcy

Happy Sunday girls and first full day of Autumn! It's like a switch was turned on and it's very cool outside now. Very autumn like weather. Sadly for us it's rain all day so no cycling today but the good news is we only have 87 miles left to reach our 3K goal so hopefully we will be able to do that before our first snow of the year. Fingers crossed. Just won't be able to do that before we leave for NYC tomorrow but something to look forward to and I enjoy having goals to aspire to so it's OK. Gratification delayed...for now.:twirl:

Has anyone else wondered why for the Autumn season there are 2 names...Autumn and Fall whereas for the other 3 seasons there is just one name for each. Well I started wondering about this yesterday and just now looked it up and here you go. In case anyone else was curious. And who knew that Autumn actually had a third name as well. Harvest.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat...hird_season_became_both_autumn_and_fall_.html

Before it was autumn and fall, it was harvest. While the modern names of winter and summer have been around for more than 1,000 years, the names of fall and spring are more recent—and less constant. This is partly because the two seasons were long viewed as secondary to summer and winter.

Back to regularly scheduled programming.

@junebug17 love that picture. What a sweet kitty. Speaking of sweet kitties how is dear Zoe doing? Thanks for your good wishes for Francesca and thanks for your lovely words. Glad you are enjoying a lovely and peaceful weekend. Remind me do you play golf? I want to learn how and see if I would enjoy it. My friend J and her dh S love playing golf and belong to a golf club where they play every day the weather cooperates. They are golfing fiends. I always thought it looked sort of boring but I know that I cannot judge for myself until I start learning and playing golf. We love miniature golf but I know it is completely different. Anyway just wondering if you like to play as well as watch. I think your dh loves playing golf as do a few other dhs here do too. Hope you have a lovely Sunday Junie! (((Hugs))).

@Tekate how did yesterday go? Ooh 39 is cooooold for this time of year but I know you are North of us but still. Brrrrr. Hope you are staying comfy cozy and snugly warm. Where the heck did summer go? Yes Danny and Greg sound like they have much in common. Thank you for relaying our good wishes to your nephew and niece. Penn State is a great school. Yes our fur babies are gone too soon but that is the price we pay. And though the heartache when they leave us is crippling and intense it is the price we pay for their love and the overwhelming joy they bring into our lives. But it is always too soon and I still miss all of them though some have been gone for decades and decades. They live on in our hearts and our memories. Here's a photo of my very first furbaby....my parents adopted him when they were pregnant with me. We all loved him and adored him so much. And still love and miss him. Dear Apache.

missyandapacheinfirsthome.jpg

Hope you are feeling good and doing well and having a fun weekend. (((Hugs))).

@Sandeek thinking of you and hoping this first fall weekend is going smoothly and you are feeling good. Tuesday is your last hyperbaric treatment for a while woohoo! Hoping it is a good week for you and sending you healing vibes and hugs.

@marcy hello there, sounds like a productive and calm weekend which is all good in my book. I would love to take you for ice cream Marcy just come on over anytime! Days is open for another 3 weeks but we can always find a good place for ice cream no worries. Thank you so much for all your caring concern and good wishes for HRH and Fred. They also appreciate it. I am super lucky my sister is a veterinarian who is highly skilled as well. I do not trust anyone as much as I trust her with our animals well being. And I know if anything can be done to help my fur babies she will do it.

Glad you are planning to enjoy your pinkalicious dangle earrings next week. And yes swoon to emerald cut rings. I have been having fun as well because after LLJsmom showed us her emeraldlicious ring I got one to play with too and while I have not worn it yet it is sure pretty to look at. I cannot seem to wear anything but Bubbalah right now.:sun:

Thank you for all your kind comments re the photos. Appreciate that. B is an artist so he could make anything look interesting and that is his forte. Not to make pretty photos but interesting ones. IMO he accomplishes that with all his artwork. And yes you need to get rid of those negative people and bring in more positive individuals to lift your team not drag them down. Sad how some people just don't get it. Takes more energy to be negative right? And it feels so much better to be hopeful and positive (and cautiously optimistic) so why be such a Negative Nellie? Rhetorical question.

Haha that's right, he doesn't even bring his law school apple pie.:lickout: Good point.8)

Glad you had fun at your astronomy meeting and I know you gave a wonderful talk. Don't pay attention to Marty and his friend. And yes let them give the lecture next program and see how they like it. Cannot be an expert on everything and good for you for tackling a subject you are not completely comfortable with...kudos to you Marcy! That is being courageous.:appl:(I cannot do public speaking at all...I freeze up and it is really quite sad...not sure how I made it through all my major presentations during my residency program but I still feel like I have PTSD from those lectures and no one will never get me to give any more lectures again...glad to be done with that!)

Hope you enjoy a wonderful Funday Sunday! XOXO.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Leaving you with 2 photos from yesterday. First a Days record...haha...we went back 16 hours after our evening Days ice cream with our friends B and K and enjoyed more ice cream. Hahaha we are like squirrels...getting as much ice cream into us as we can before the season is over (Days is closing in a few weeks till late Spring). Only difference is we don't take any with us for later or store it anywhere but our tummies. OH well. Something to look forward to in about 6 plus months I guess.:lickout:

daysinsept2018.jpg.png

and lastly a photo of the sky as we started out cycling yesterday morning. Love the clouds and the blueness of the skies.

Have a wonderful Sunday girls!:wavey:

Hello lovelies

I’m afraid we didn’t buy anything at Costco, other than what we actually went there for! Definitely a first for us, but at least I could admire Bella under their lights @Jimmianne :D

Glad you’re keeping warm, that old door must’ve been letting in a lot of draughts. I think there’ve been days while we’ve been here that it’s been really hot back home, but no doubt the minute we get back, it’ll be freezing.

How could your friend not have been  when she saw Bubbalah @missy she’s a knockout and hard to ignore :D I had some honey & lavender gelato yesterday, it was delish, subtle flavours but a great combination. :lickout: So glad you had fun with your friends, and as always, great photos.

You’re so close to your target now, hopefully the weather will stay good enough on your next visit, that you’ll achieve it. How’s sweet little HRH, are her symptoms subsiding still? Thank goodness for your sister, whilst we would like to think all vets are only interested in animal welfare, unfortunately, it’s big business because they know how much we love them and would do anything for them. We have certainly experienced that, and changed vets immediately.

Well done on getting through your programme @marcy, yes it’s pretty daunting having to stand in front of a crowd and sound interesting. I’m glad I don’t have to do it anymore, there were times when I did live TV shows that I struggled to be enthusiastic about products I didn’t like and wouldn’t buy

Arghh to continuing issues at work, roll on the day you no longer have to put up with their negativity and incompetence! Definitely wear your pretty pinkies tomorrow to distract yourself.

How are you doing @Tekate ? That makes me sound like Joey from friends  I hope you’re continuing to improve with each passing day. Keep warm, sounds pretty chilly where you are.

Hi @junebug17 love the kitty pic. How’s Zoe? LV is definitely one of those places you need to visit, then leave a big gap before you go again. Do you think if you go, you’ll book up a few shows? Enjoy watching the golf and your meal out.

I hope things are going well with your Mum’s rehab @canuk-gal .

Continuing to send healing thoughts your way @Sandeek .

Mr and Mrs @PierreBear are coming over later, although not sunny, it’s warm so Adam will fire up the BBQ.

Hopefully photos of the OECs to follow - watch this space!

Happy Sunday

:wavey:

HI:

Missy--you talked about an emerald ring--spill! You too LLJsMom!!!

Nuthin going on here. We planned to travel "home" for a party but it was 20 cms of snow in the forecast. And they did get 15!! So no thanks. Good decision as I hate travelling a it is, never mind in inclement weather.

Broody day here as the mountain also got snow--some freezing rain but otherwise OK so far. I think it will be too cool for a bike ride today. I don't know Winter seems to coming without a fall--most years we have gorgeous, warm, bright days well into NOv.

Anyway, that all for now. Hope all are well.:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

HI NIRDI’s

Missy, woo hoo to being only 87 miles away from 3k. Easy peasy. Interesting article on fall and autumn. The astronomer side of me always used the term fall but I can’t really say why. I think golf would be boring too but many people love it. Such a cute picture of you with your first furbaby. i’ll be right over for some ice cream and to pick up one of those sweet little Macan’s. Marty liked it too. I am sure your sister is a comfort for you when your sweet kitties have problems. I did dig out my pink sapphires for tomorrow. How fun you bought an EC to play with. Enjoy. And how could you not be totally thrilled with Bubblah? Ooh la la. I agree with you; what’s the point on going through the life with a negative attitude? Laughing and smiling is so much better for you and those around you. I’m with you on speeches; I also get very stressed giving speeches; if it’s something I know then it’s more like just talking. Oh well, I’ll save those interesting subjects for the newsletter. Your Day’s ice cream looks delicious and that is a very pretty sky. We had a great sunrise today with a very orange Sun; more heavy smoke in our area.

Austina, I love the twin OEC picture. You and PB have gorgeous diamonds and beautiful rings. I agree; being on TV is scary. I did a telecourse that went out to other community colleges. They had videos to watch but the first session was me. I’d be talking away and just fine then look up and see myself on the TV and freeze. I did dig my pretty pinkies out for tomorrow. Good call.

Sharon, good idea to stay home with the snow moving in. I was nagging at Marty this weekend about changing when he flies to LA and back since winter is coming. Right now he goes out on late Sunday and comes back even later on Thursday. He does not have any winter survival gear in his truck at all. He said well I’ve never had any trouble so if I do that now something will happen. Grr. I don’t know about your DH but Marty seems to think he’s invincible and immortal.

I read most of the day and watched a few shows on TV. It is super smoky here again so the sunrise was really pretty but it was so hazy my pictures are blurry.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning @Austina LOVE! And thanks for the delicious photos. You guys look beautiful. And that manicure is lovely too.
@PierreBear did you name your gorgeous OEC?

@canuk-gal nah nothing exciting. It's a faux emerald cut ring I got to play with in the house. I haven't even worn her yet except to take photos for LLJsmom haha. Here's a photo for you. Edit: Not sure we can share faux rings in hangout so deleting the photo. I posted (updated from just now) photos of it here.

Sharon, that's a lot of snow 15 cm and sorry it messed up the plans to travel home to the party. And yes too brisk for cycling I agree. Hope your fall season starts soon and it doesn't go right to winter. But yes I hear you because I feel like that might happen here this season too...summer just ended but it is getting pretty cold pretty quickly. Fingers crossed we have a mild autumn before winter hits us. Hope your mom is doing well!

@marcy hahaha so glad you like the Macan I sent you :cheeky:. When I saw it I could not resist. I mean, Costco has *everything*!
Here it is for those who haven't seen it yet.

How are you enjoying your new iPad Pro?
I love your sunrises Marcy. Always so beautiful. Sorry there is heavy smoke in your area again and I hope that clears up very soon. Please stay safe and try not to be outside too much until it clears. Who knows what respiratory damage long term exposure will do.

Here is our sunset from last night after a stormy day. Pretty right?

And our sunrise this morning.

Thanks for emphasizing with me. I knew you would get it. Public speaking is not for me. Kudos to you for getting out of your comfort zone and doing it!
Hope your work Monday goes well Marcy. Hang in there and may you be surrounded with positive and pleasant people and may all go your way.

@Tekate Good morning! Have a wonderful day and hope you are feeling well.

@Sandeek only one more day till you are done with those hyperbaric chamber treatments. Hope your Monday goes well and woohoo one more day and done (for now). Keeping my fingers crossed all goes smoothly.

Have a good Monday girls. It is back to the city for us later. Boohoo. But don't cry for me because we are hopefully heading back here soon enough. Francesca seems a bit better and hoping that trend continues. She is a sweetheart and she wants me to let you all know how much she appreciates all your good wishes and healing hugs. She gives a purrrrrry hello and lots and lots of kitty kisses to each and every one of you. XOXO.

And here is the (almost finished) feral kitty feeder. Needs painting and finishing and the actual feeder has to be constructed...but almost there now. :appl:

@Austina weather in Texas! storms come on quickly. Those rings! those nails.. do I need to say green with envy? ;-) I don't think I knew @PierreBear lived in the atown area, maybe I think I remember she lived in the Dripping Springs area? We have friends there it's a gorgeous part of Hill Country. Rings are fraternal twins.. green again !!!! AND Ima doing fine! thank you so much lady!

@canuk-gal snow? SNOW! I love snow, I hate to be in it, drive in it but I love the fireplace roaring a good book and snow! it is a total pain to drive in. Have a great week Sharon.

@Jimmianne how are you doing in France? How are you feeling? Any new wedding plans to share? I'm good here in Maine..

Trying to get caught up for the week so big hugs to everyone. Sorry for a short post but hope everyone is doing well.

@Austina – Safe travels back home! Whew, your manicured nails + Bella looks lovely together. Lucky me to see it in person again. Appreciate you sharing the photos with the NIRDI friends.

Hello lovelies

Well we’re back at the airport waiting to go home :(2 Flight is in about 2 hrs.

Wow, the feeder is looking great, what a swish kitty cafeteria :D Hope you had a good journey back to the city @missy, and the kitties are all doing well. No wonder you love being at the beach, the sunrise/sets are pretty spectacular, truly a view you’d never tire of.

You do know it’s all your ‘fault’ that PB and I are the proud owners of such beautiful rings  If I hadn’t seen hers earlier this year, I’d never have fallen so in love with old cuts and got to have Bella in my life. Isn’t it funny how such random things bring people together?

Glad to hear you’re doing well @Tekate, long may it continue. Of course it’s a beautiful day here today now we’re heading home

Thanks @LLJsmom I only wish I had such long elegant fingers as PB to show Bella off.

Ugh to the smoke @marcy, are there more fires in your area? Keep safe and stay in. I hope your working week has started off well, and stays that way. If you ever decide to trade down, the Macan that Missy found looks like fun :D

Thanks @PierreBear it was lovely seeing you yesterday and meeting Mr PB, what a sweetie he is. You two make a lovely couple and we ALL enjoyed spending time with you.

It’s going to be a long night, see you on the other side :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's!

Missy, that 8 carat EC ring looks fabulous on your finger. Love your wedding tiara too. I do totally want that toy Macan that you and Greg found. They did a great job making it look like the Macan too. You never know - that might show up at my house sometime. :D Good thing there isn't a Costco here in town. Beautiful sunset and sunrise pictures. Thank you for the compliments about my sunrise pictures. i can't catch much of a sunset from here anymore. Darn. I am totally enjoying my iPad Pro. I am quite happy I bought one. I will try to remember to plan topics for meetings that don't require much reading on my part. I do way better with few or no notes. The feral kitty feeder is turning out great. They will be so happy. Your new band is gorgeous; you must be thrilled with it. I am delighted to hear Francesca is doing better.

Tekate, glad you are having a pleasant Monday and the song Manic Monday is now going through my head. I'm with you; I love snow as long as I'm home. That's a problem where both of us live though.

PierreBear, I hope you and Mr PB had fun with Austina and Mr Austina. I bet your rings enjoyed showing off to each other. How is work going?

Austina, a big fire has been burning about 100 miles SW of us so the smoke is coming our way. There are still so many fires going on now. I hope your trip home was uneventful. I can totally see a Snoopy or Teddy Bear in that very cool Macan.

It sure felt like fall this morning. Chilly and windy. I did wear my pink dangles today and don't recall seeing them once. Phooey.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi honies, we’re home :mrgreen2:

Thankfully a lovely quiet flight, just 4 of us in the cabin. We hit some major turbulence over the Atlantic, which lasted about an hour, but we survived

Unpacked and collected Dottie, she’s fine and Tom said he really enjoyed having her.

Just about to have a cup of tea, then a shower, so I’ll say hi and bye for now :wavey:

GM girls!

@Tekate thank you much my dear! The Cumberland fair sounds like lots of fun, enjoy! Hope your Monday was very pleasant valley indeed and may the rest of the week be as nice.

@marcy aww thank you sweet girl. I wanted to share pics here but PS is misbehaving or perhaps it is something on my end though I tried with both my laptop and my phone. I got some nice pics of the pink diamonds with my opal and with Bubbalah. So pleased for you that your iPad Pro is working like a champ. Sweet. I always love your photos and even though you no longer can catch the sunset by you your sunrises are breathtaking.

@Austina welcome home! OMG to major turbulence but glad you've arrived safely and I hope you recover quickly from your jet lag.

Greg got checked out this AM re his 3 month skin check and all is good woohoo! He is at work already. I have been taking photos of my new Leibish Pink diamond band. It's a sweet band that I won in the Leibish giveaway. I would love to share pics here but so far PS keeps saying error so will wait and see if it gets sorted out or if I have a bigger problem on my end. Anyway it's a rainy cool Tuesday here girls and hope wherever you are and no matter the weather you are feeling sunny inside. Have a good morning!
