Now I really did it :((

GM girls! Happy FriYAY!

@canuk-gal thank you. I hope work picks up very soon for you and may the Covid cases keep declining. And continued healing wishes for your mom. Sending you gentle hugs. We have one more unseasonably warm day then the weather becomes much cooler. It was a good run while it lasted. Next week looks to be rainy every single day. Sigh.

@MamaBee I hear you. The pain of losing our furry babies is so deep and great and no one can replace them in our hearts. The way I look at it is different however in that we do rescues so we save a life to give honor to the life of our lost loved one. If that makes sense. None of it makes sense but that is how I live with the deep grief of losing my babies. I rescue another and another and another...what is that quote? Saving one animal won't save the world but it will change the world for that one animal" Big hugs to you.

@Austina hope it is all going smoothly. Thinking of you and sending lots of good wishes. Hugs.

@sarahb how are you? I hope all is going well. Big hugs.

@bling_dream19 happy FriYAY! Hope you are looking forward to an excellent weekend. XOXO

@Slick1 yay the weekend is almost here. Have a lovely day and fun weekend and hugs to Bear.

Hi to everyone else and big hugs.
We had another glorious riding day yesterday.
I am savoring every moment.
The joy of cycling by the sea and feeling the ocean breeze and smelling the salty air.
Nothing surpasses that in my book.
Heaven on earth.

Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day filled with joy and bliss. Love you girls. XOXO.

I agree Missy..At this point in time our hearts can’t take the pain of considering another one. I said this last time. It took me two years to start looking for Bailey.
I LOVE the last photo..Precious!
Yesterday was a busy nightmare that threw me off my schedule. They’re coming after lunch. We also have a phone appointment with Social Security for David. I think when they show up I will collapse in a heap!! Exhaustion doesn’t quite describe how tired
I am. Haha
Big hugs to all..XO

HI:

Kind of a dreary looking day, low cloud. I think rain may be in our future. A bit too chilly to ride, but I may walk later when it is a bit warmer. Did the elliptical and stationary bike. I could have gone to the gym, but still feel a bit uncomfortable about it. We have vaccine passports here and you have to provide evidence of vaccination to enter. My DH played hockey yesterday in a mixed league and had to show his passport.

Went out for lunch with a friend yesterday, and had another episode of hypoglycemia. This is twice in as many weeks so I've made an appt with my Doc on Tuesday. WTH!!!!! Embarrassing.

My Mom is being assessed today regarding her future living arrangements.

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!! Keep calm and carry on folks!!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

I want to drive anywhere @canuk-gal. I don’t like having to put Adam and Kim out having to take us places. We want to drive up to the house to see what’s going on, and to drive around the area as we don’t know it very well. Glad to hear Covid cases are coming down there, long may it continue.

I think we’ve come to the conclusion that we probably won’t have another dog either @MamaBee. We definitely wouldn’t have another Spinone, they need to be able to run free and follow their instincts, which they can’t do here, and I do know there are some breeders that absolutely won’t let you have a puppy if you don’t intend to hunt with them. We’re lucky that we can share Bertie when Adam and Kim want to go away, so I think we may stick with that.

Your butterfly is absolutely beautiful @bling_dream19, what a great way to use the stone, it’s so pretty and feminine.

Wow @missy, I’m just getting more and more disillusioned about healthcare here when I read what incompetence you have to deal with. You know we’re all rooting for you that the biopsy comes back totally benign. Woohoo indeed that Greg doesn’t have to go back in to the office, great that he’ll still be working from home and being with you. Oh my gosh, the puppy pics are gorgeous, they looks like such happy and healthy pups. The weather here is lovely too, in the 80’s, we can’t believe we’re 2/3rds of the way through October, and still wearing summer clothes.

I hope things are improving for you and Tim, and that he’s not feeling so unwell and your back in holding up @mrs-b.

How’re things in M & Mland @marcy? Has Marty recovered fully from his surgery? Any plans for the weekend?

I don’t know where the time is going since we got here, the day’s are whizzing by. Yesterday I had to do the online Impact course, it’s basically videos of mangled wrecks and the dire warnings of eating, drinking, texting, putting on your make up and generally not paying attention when you’re driving. You get another certificate after completing the course (I’ve never had so many certificates in my life ) and I was able to book my driving test. I’m going on Tuesday at 2.20pm

Kim took me out in her car today to practice, as the test will be in a Toyota Corolla and I’m not used to driving such a small car. She’s also going to take to the driving test area on Sunday, so I can see what the roads are like there.

We took Bertie out this morning, and it was absolutely beautiful, so sunny and warm.

Happy FriYay lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

HI:

@Austina oh not to have a car is like being trapped! Good luck on Tuesday, I'm sure you'll ace your test. Oh I was looking for your old post where you showed the floor plan of your house but couldn't find it--I can never get a sense where looking at the framing.....where is your garage? Great for lovely weather!!

cheers--Sharon

Here’s the floor plan @canuk-gal . The garages are on the side of the house, seems to be a ‘thing’ here that a lot of places don’t like the garages being on the front of the house.

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina I love the layout. It is going to be beautiful!
Don't worry about you healthcare. It is generally good but if you don't fit in with the common health issues (read mysterious issues) that's where the trouble begins. When you don't fit in the box neatly. That won't be you. That's me lol. So please no worries. Our USA healthcare system works for the majority. I always say if you are healthy you are going to find the healthcare system perfect.

@canuk-gal how are you feeling? I am hoping your blood sugar issues are easily resolved. Please take good care.

@bling_dream19 happy weekend.

@sarahb every time I take a scenic photo I think of you now. :)

@Slick1 enjoy the weekend.

@MamaBee I know you are enjoying a wonderful time with your family. So happy you are getting to see them.

Hi to everyone else. We had another spectacular cycling day. Oh if only the weather could stay like this always.

If you look closely you will see an Heron. But I love this far away view just because the scene is lovely.

Have a beautiful Caturday Saturday my sweet friends. XOXO.

When Oliver is done causing trouble he seems so innocent. This is last night right after he wreaked all sorts of havoc.
Then he falls asleep without a care in the world. Oh to be a well loved kitty.

@marcy hope you have a very sweet Saturday.

@missy, I just LOVE clouds & your pictures are simply gorgeous. My fav is that one scraggly tree on your path, its sort of short & wind blown, I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about? Just love it. Thank you for sharing all your pics, & love the moniker, ICOTD. Perfect!

We still have yet to record temps below 32F here, which apparently has set a record. Only 13 years since late 1800's have we gone this long. This year makes it 14, and forecasters aren't projecting one until we get into Nov. We get more than our fair share of winter/snow-ice-wind etc, so this has been a welcomed, glorious fall.

A few pics from my walk last week, this little guy was something to come upon. His little head swirled around as I moved. I enabled him off the well-traveled path onto the grass.

IMG_0229 2.jpeg

And then Mr. Woodpecker, a Red Bellied Woodpecker. So beautiful, he was quite vocal!

IMG_0241.jpeg

And then the woods across the street--always changing!

Wishing all the NIRDI's a wonderful Saturday!! Everyone encountering medical & other challenges right now, keep your chin up!

XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!! :wavey: :wavey:

Cold rainy and gloomy here. I need to turn on the lights its so dark! We haven't had a lot of rain so it is OK. Better than the white stuff!

Not much planned for today. Lot of changes going on at work--probably better I am not there!! I don't care much for turmoil.

@Austina I like the side entrance garages. We don't see that much around here in new subdivisions as lots tend to be small. But I prefer the esthetic.

@missy of course I am jealous of your weather. Lovely photos as usual!

Keep calm and carry on folks!

cheers--Sharon

HI:

@missy--what havoc was Oliver up to??? I like hearing about his escapades!!

HI:

@missy--what havoc was Oliver up to??? I like hearing about his escapades!!

Haha he is a rascal to the max degree. I wouldn't be surprised if passersby hear me yelling No, No No to him when he is misbehaving

He chases Tommy all around the house and then hits him and poor Tommy is old and frail and it upsets me so. The thing is, Tommy keeps going back for more. I don't get it. He is clearly unhappy when Oliver chases him and then they hit each other with their paws. And Tommy makes the most pitiful crying sounds. It is unbearable. We spray Oliver with water, yell NO and put him in a time out sometimes for a long time. Just to give Tommy (and Bobby) some peace and us too.

We give Oliver time outs all night long but unfortunately I think Oliver isn't very bright. Because he never gets the connection. Chase Tommy, time out. Hit Tommy, time out. And poor Bobby who outweighs Oliver by a lot runs upstairs when Oliver is on a rampage. And as soon as Oliver is in the time out play pen Bobby comes downstairs and joins us. It is upsetting but nothing we do works. We spray water on Oliver to stop him but that only works for that moment. I just don't know what else to do. Greg even wants to get a special collar that we can operate to give Oliver electric shocks when he misbehaves. But I do not like that at all. So despite me being at my wits end I still cannot OK the electric collar.

LOL so there it is. You asked :)
Any advice much appreciated!
Oh and our nice weather is over. It wasn't bad today but it was much colder. I wore my warmest cycling jacket and had layers on underneath so I am not sure how I am going to survive the rest of autumn cycling!
We did hit 8000K miles today woohoo! We hit 8, 043 miles to be exact.

Screen Shot 2021-10-23 at 3.06.34 PM.png

@canuk-gal side garages are my absolute fave as well.

My fav is that one scraggly tree on your path, its sort of short & wind blown, I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about? Just love it.

@sarahb yes I know that tree and love it too! I find it haunting and it is my favorite too!

Screen Shot 2021-10-15 at 6.14.13 AM.png

I have a few different perspectives of this tree. This is the tree right?

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday afternoon. XOXO.

@missy, yes the exact tree. It looks like it has a story to tell. I always wonder what kind it is, and if it's dying. Love tree's and clouds. It's a beauty!

Here's the kind of weather we're having today. Got home from my walk in the nick of time before the down pour started.tempImageXMNhYt.png

Hello lovelies

Happy SaturYay!

Another warm and sunny day here. Kim is out helping her friend make mocktails for her upcoming wedding, so we’re here on our own.

I’ve been busy cooking, french onion soup and aloo gobi - potato and cauliflower curry.

Oh my goodness, that little rascal looks the picture of innocence @missy! The colour of the sky looks unreal in your photos, and woohoo to hitting 8000 miles, that’s a lot of peddling! Sorry it’s cool there, if I could send you some heat to warm things up I would! I can’t believe the weather here.

That was lucky getting back before it rained @sarahb, nothing worse than a soggy walk.

oh dear, that doesn’t sound good @canuk-gal, will the changes affect you?

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are having a good weekend :wavey:

Your food sounds yummy @Austina ! I had french onion soup when out for lunch! My fav.....

And yes, the changes will effect me. I don't mind changes, its the unnecessary drama that is the problem.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@MamaBee it’s nice for both of you that David likes to go downstairs and watch a movie. When my sister was here this weekend we went by the house we lived in as young children. The main floor was 612 square feet; very small house. She and my other sister had a bedroom in the basement after I was born. Your house is beautiful! I know the lady that cleans our house spends most of her time on our floors but she sure keeps them looking beautiful. Once I bought the wider Dyson stick vacuum she was thrilled how much quicker she could clean the floors. I chuckled about moving things out of the way for pictures. At our last house we pretty much dumped everything on the dining room table. If we had company it all got moved to a laundry basket and put in the laundry closet. Easy cleanup. I can totally see the Carol Burnett skit with the bucket and mop; I cleaned our place once and that was before we had more hardwood floor put in - I get it for sure.

@Calliecake that is great news your niece is pregnant. Sweet! I am totally enjoying my redesigned ruby ring. Sadly we do start getting snow this early.

@missy I definitely have ended up at the hospital or doctor when I have a major sweat; I am NEVER that warm. I thought of doing halo dangle earrings but ended up with halo studs. I sent off my ruby earrings this morning. I’ll post a picture below of what I’m getting. That is so crappy about big Pharma in many ways - they are totally a monopoly - I saw a video where Pfizer is a sponsor of a ton of the news programs seems like a conflict of interest to me. They only care about profits not how to help people that need their meds. Grr. Beautiful pictures. That is awesome news Greg can continue to work from home. If my company gave me that option I’d continue working but given our spring blizzards around here I’m totally ready to quit before they start. I wondered if Oliver had settled down; sounds like he is still stirring it up at times. Keeps everyone on their toes.
@Austina that’s good it’s not too hot during the day. When Marty used to go to Arizona for work he always was amused people were running around in the winter in coats and he’d be in shorts. It’s what you are used to, I guess. Glad to hear you starting feeling like your normal self. I ended up decided to having Whiteflash mount my rubies in some YG halo studs. I shipped my earrings to them this morning. It is nice to have plenty of room even if it’s just you and Colin. We more than doubled our square footage when we moved here and it’s nice we can easily get away from each other if we want. Makes it nice. That is awesome you got your learner’s permit. Progress! Marty’s shoulder is still going good. He has some things where it reminds him he is not fully recovered but his strength training really made a difference. Thanks for asking. I love the floor plan of your new house. Looks perfect.

@bling_dream19 your butterfly is gorgeous. Enjoy!

@canuk-gal I hope they figure out what is going on with feeling hypoglycemic. I am keeping you in my thoughts. I hope work picks up for you soon. I hope the assessment for your mom went okay.

@sarahb I can’t believe you haven’t been below freezing - if I remember rightly you are in Michigan or somewhere near there? We’ve had several freezes in Wyoming so far.

I had a busy week at work including updating my team’s procedure manual. I wonder if anyone notices I changed ask Marcy to ask your supervisor? Ha Ha.

Marty got up about 3:30 and drove to the Snowy Mountains (about 2 plus hour s form here) so he’d be there before sunrise. I got up and said goodbye and be careful then went back to bed. Sadly I had a hard time falling asleep again.

After I got around I went to Kohl’s to get some much needed new pants then dropped my ruby earrings off at FedEx to send in to Whiteflash. The YG halo studs were only $100 more than the earring jackets and since I don’t have any other 4mm studs I decided I’d rather just have the earrings.

Marty and I got home at the same time this morning. He’d eaten breakfast on the way home from the mountains so I made myself some lunch and we planned on going out for supper tonight.

I have most of the laundry done and got my November article sent off to the local paper. I’ve been busy.

Take care.
Marcy

Here are the studs I'll be getting
image001 copy.jpg

Here is a shot Marty took right as the Sun came up. The mountains don't look that high but he is probably at about 10,000 feet already so you are looking right at the mountain peaks

@missy I messaged an article to you via IG. If you could send it over to Marcy for me? Thank you so much!

@marcy That article discusses the freeze dates Marcy. It has been the warmest fall in memory here. Marcy, like you, we have a fast, quick summer, then like clock work, the meteorological clock swings back towards fall/winter very quickly. I think your 4 seasons closely parallel mine, although you might be slightly ahead of me. We sit on the dividing line of climate zone 5 & 6, & I think you are squarely in zone 6 if my memory is correct? I lived in the SW part of the US for 17 years in my earlier years, & it was rather boring weather wise--whereas I get all 4 seasons here. Beautiful pics from Marty, & how exciting! New bling!!

@Austina It literally started sprinkling as a I walked up the driveway, and once the downpour was over, the sun came out & I made burgers on the grill. Crazy weather. Been following your move, so very exciting!

Happy Sunday to all the NIRDI's!

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to pick up fresh made cheese and raisin kugel and of course I HAD to have a Rueben. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm That was my excitement for the day LOL.

Sunny but chilly out, so no cycling for us.

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI's!

@sarahb thanks for asking @missy to send me that info. I believe we have similar weather but our altitude keeps us in winter a bit longer. We haven't had much snow yet - I am sure it will show up the day I need to drive my car to Colorado for the 6th month oil change. ha ha. We can easily see all 4 seasons here in one day pretty much any day of the reason. Glad the rain cleared up so you could grill burgers.

@canuk-gal mmm to fresh made cheese and a rueben. We had grilled chicken with rice and veggies today.

We went out for breakfast and then picked up groceries. The pasta / rice row was pretty much empty but meat, produce, bread, eggs and ice cream were good to go. After Marty left for the gym I did my lifting and contemplated sending my SIL an invoice for storage fees - she has her back seat to her jeep in my gym and about 8 boxes. I thought I'd charged her $25 a month of $500 for 6 months. It's so fun to pick on her.

I did venture to the park this afternoon and took a few pictures. This one tree I really wanted to get a picture of was only perfectly illuminated by sunlight if I was standing in the middle of the road so I skipped that one. It still had most of it's golden leaves, arched over the road and was very cool looking. Oh well. Maybe some other time.

I've been working on another article for the paper for an upcoming almost total lunar eclipse. Don't know if I'll see it since maximum eclipse is at 2 am our time. I like my sleep too much.

Have a great week.
Marcy

Here are 2 of my favorites from today. It's nice to have blue skies again after such a smoky summer.
IMG_2053.JPGIMG_2058.JPG

@canuk-gal my lotto tickets are expired and I’ve got $24.00 coming. It’s a start.

@marcy I bet elevation would add to your winter duration, didn't even think about that! Love those tree pics, the colors, the shapes, & leaf patterns are so mesmerizing to me. Egads...re driving your car to CO for an oil change! I bet it's a beautiful drive though. Yes, winters are tough here as well, we're getting to old for this!!!

Many thanks to @missy for being the post gal for that article!!

@sarahb springtime blizzards are one reason I hope to be retired before the end of this year.

Wowser! What fabulous NIRDI big houses!
Thank you for sharing.
My diminutive (but still hard to keep clean and organized) house here is 900 sq.feet- four stories high, four bedrooms and three baths (two indoors!); a little medieval rabbit warren.

Marcy, I am not sure what I am finding. Plenty of as yet unidentifiable rocks and such. I have been to the coast and back, and also went to beach at the river yesterday. My house is full of rocks&fossils, even more so now. Lol
Will post photos later. I know at least one rock is a piece of fossilized wood, (& have fond memories of seeing a beautiful gem-like whole log in the foothills outside Denver). You live in fossil territory?

Hi to everyone. Happy Funday!

GM girls! Sorry for a really quick post and run. We have a few medical appointments back to back this morning and one this afternoon so I apologize for the quick post and will get back to respond to everyone later or tomorrow depending on the time I have.

We had an excellent cycling day Sunday and the sun was out all day and made a difference to the comfort for sure. Yay for October being so nice this year. The cold weather and rain is coming however but it was a good run while it lasted.

Cycling, Sun, Sea, Sand, Swans, ICOTD and of course dogs and cats. :)

Manasquan Beach. Just a joy.

On that note I am off. A big hello and warm hugs to all you lovely ladies. Have a wonderful Monday. XOXO.

Good morning girls!
@missy Your photos of the water and sand just make me go ahhhhhhh….It looks so relaxing and beautiful.
Wow for hitting 8,000 miles! You probably even passed that now! That’s great you got your cycling in even though it’s been a little chilly…You must know all the pets on your routes!
What are you going to do about Oliver…I thought he must have calmed down by now…Bailey never calmed down so I get it..I don’t know how I would have done with another dog in the mix…Poor Tommy! I was hoping that Tommy or Bobby would teach him the ropes in the beginning. Oliver is the alpha cat! He is super adorable though…
I hope your medical appointments go well today.
@canuk-gal How did your mom’s evaluation go? Is she going to go home or to a care setting?
I never had a Reuben sandwich! My mom loves them. I love corned beef on rye…I also love sauerkraut..but never had them together. It sounds yummy!
My two sons both played hockey in high school. They went to hockey camps in Canada too. They were very good. When they got older they still played in a pickup mens league. Scott played up until he had the second child. Now he says he’s too tired! My husband is too old to play hockey but he would have loved to do that when he was younger.
@mrs-b How’s Tim doing? I hope your back is continuing to be okay with the compression therapy. When are you going to adopt Eleanor? I feel like we should give you a baby shower. ❤️
@Austina I would be lost without a car. I can’t wait to hear that you’re finished with your driving test tomorrow. I can picture you driving everywhere thrilled to beans. It will be so much fun to drive to see your house whenever you feel like it.
It sounds like you lucked into a wonderful daughter-in-law..just like me.
How far is your house from Adam and Kim?
@Calliecake That’s such wonderful news that your niece is having a new baby! It’s so nice to have happy news to celebrate..especially now..
@marcy Thank you! The small house you grew up in most likely made you bond to your sisters..I had a smaller house when we first got married. I loved it so much because it felt warm and cozy. It’s a challenge to accomplish the same feeling with a larger house. I’ve been telling my husband I definitely want to downsize when we move to Va.
I know you bought your beautiful Ruby ring..I somehow missed where you purchased rubies for earrings! Did you show a photo of the rubies that you sent to Whiteflash? I can’t wait to see them!
Your photos of the changing colors is so pretty! I just love fall…That’s a good idea not to stand in the middle of the road to take a photo..:oops2:
@sarahb I also love clouds…I would love a painting of just fluffy white clouds and blue skies..
Your photos are so pretty! That photo of the dark sky was great…Good thing you made in home in time before you got soaked!
Ok..so I’m not loving the green bug though..I’m terrified of grasshoppers…What kind of bug is that??? :???:
@Jemi I saw the photo of the outside of your house that you shared a while back. I was mesmerized by it. It looks like something from a fairytale. I would love to see some photos of the inside… I know I’m bad..I used to pay to go on house tours..They don’t do great ones here..It was my favorite thing to do when we lived in New Jersey.
I had a wonderful visit with my son and family. it was complete chaos. I had toys all over the place. I loved every minute of it! They came late Friday afternoon..and left 7:30 pm on Saturday so the boys would sleep on the way home. We ordered food in for every meal except breakfast. Everyone likes different things. It was just easier and more fun to get Door Dash Friday for dinner on Friday night. We ordered Mediterranean food..It was yummmmmmmy! Everyone got what they wanted and I didn’t have to miss out time with them. Everyone wanted eggs for breakfast the next day so I tried out something new.I got a large pan and scrambled 18 eggs at once! Then I poured them into a casserole and stuck them in my oven at 250 degrees to keep warm until everyone was ready to sit down together. I made pumpkin bread with Jackson so we also served that along with the eggs, bacon, bagels with cream cheese, yogurt and fruit. I put it all out in the counter to serve themselves. Easy peasy!
I‘m not cleaning again for a while! :snore:
I have Mr. Handyman here now. I had a list a mile long of repairs that needed to be done. He will be here all day. I’m sitting here with my mask on. David is downstairs so he doesn’t need to keep his mask on all day.…
Hugs to everyone!

Another tip question. I get so stressed out over tipping.@missy Please ask Greg too..haha How much would you tip the handyman that Mr. Handyman sent over? He will be here all day. I bought him lunch too..

Good morning, ladies - and happy Monday!

The rain is coming down here in Boston and will continue to do so through to Wednesday. Makes very little difference to us, since Tim and I are both full up with colds - as are the dogs! Everyone is sick! Will try to make some vet appointments shortly for the puppies. Tim and I will just have to ride it out. It's possible for humans to contract kennel cough, and that does seem to be what we have - given that we see nobody else otherwise, unmasked. This will be the third dose of kennel cough our dogs have contracted from the groomer. Frankly, given how many dogs go through a groomer's business at any one time, I'm surprised it hasn't been more. 3 times in 6.5 years - better odds than pre-school!

Tim's glucose continues to rise, despite being off the meds he was on that started the whole circus. It's solidly in the diabetic range now on fasting, tho it seems to drop as he 1) eats 2) his pancreas produces insulin 3) and the day progresses - which says that his pancreas is still fine - it's his kidneys that are struggling. This is in line with what the side effects are for this drug. His weight loss has finally stopped, tho - thank goodness! - after him losing 18 bs in 4 weeks and 5 lbs in the last week. Was a bit scary for a while there! Hoping the glucose starts to drop very, very soon. One more week of it carrying on like this, tho, and we'll start following it up more aggressively. Kidneys are precious!

@canuk-gal - I'm sorry to hear about your hypo. episodes. Hoping your dr can give you some answers. And hoping you get more work soon, too - bored is always tough, and we've all had too much bored in recent years!

@Austina - your house plan is fab! Looks spacious without being ginormous (and impossible to clean!). Tim and I pay our gardener an obscene amount every year - but we do our cleaning ourselves. I remember a friend of mine telling me "If you can't clean your own house - it's too big." While I don't know that I necessarily agree with that, there's a kernel of wisdom in there somewhere. Anyway, I love the flow of your new home, its spaciousness, and I'll love following along on this with you!

@MamaBee - how is your mother doing at home? I hope she's doing ok and feeling confident in her body. I think as one grows older, it's very tough seeing one's body being to let you down. That's frightening territory. Hugs to you and I hope you're not being leaned on too much! BTW, I LOVED the photos of your upstairs hall! I don't care what you had to move - the space looked wonderful!

@marcy - I think your new earrings will be lovely! And the photos you took are just beautiful! I love Marty's sunset shots, but I love photos of gardens and trees, and love love LOVE park photos, so yours hit that part of my brain that most appreciates visuals. So lovely! I'm thinking you must be getting close to picking a specific retirement date? not long till the end of the year now....

@missy - thank you for those beach shots! Where I live in MA is attractive, but not sensational by any means. Just standard 'burbs. So I love seeing everyone else's photos! The weather here has been stellar also, and I'm guessing we're getting the same fronts that NY has been having. So mild - at a time when MA can be verrrrry variable and cold! And I'm thinking of you and Greg today as you do your med appts, and counting off the days with you down to nov. 2nd. Big hugs to you, sweet friend! ox

@bling_dream19 - I am utterly in love with your new pendant! And I still stand by the hair clip idea! I mean - seriously - anyone who has seen your coloring....!! You've inspired me, too, to get back in the kitchen and pre-prep meals! We love soup - but we do keto here - and it's super comforting to just be able to pull something pre-made but home-cooked out and stick it in the microwave! Ahhhhh - convenience!! Hugs to you!

@Calliecake - congratulations on your niece's pregnancy! Is this her first? Or...? Hoping for a smooth, comfortable, issue-free pregnancy for her! How are things in beautiful Melbourne? I see Australia positively LEAP-FROGGED over the US in their vaccination percentages. Well done, Aussies! How are your water levels, coming into summer? I think of home every summer, keeping my fingers crossed against the bush fire season! Thank you for your well wishes re my back. It's generally sore, but it's SO much better than it was, and I'm getting a huge amount of relief.

@Jemi - still waiting on some info re those spectacular gates and more photos of the sky garden! I would LOVE to see photos of your garden, if you were willing! I hope all is well for you in gorgeous France! Is your daughter and her baby back with you now? I've read back trying to find if she came over with you, or came over late, or still has not come over as yet - but I can't find it. I do hope all is well with you!

@sarahb - that stormy sky photo is just spectacular! I took one of our far-more-average side street. It's far prettier around here than this photo looks, but this was a 'snap-and-go'. I hope all is well with you. :))

Love to you all and hoping everyone is well.

NIRDI SHOUT OUT!

@mrs-b Thank you for asking about my mom. She lives in a nursing home two minutes from my house. She fell and broke her pelvis in February..She was living with me here at the time…When she got out of the hospital she went right into rehab because she couldn’t walk. She developed a stage four bedsore there. That place was highly recommended by the hospital. They should have been monitoring her skin because she wasn’t able to move because of the fracture. I moved her to another place for another month to see if it was possible for her to return home. Our doctor said we couldn’t take care of her properly at home any longer so she moved from there into a nursing home that’s literally down the road from me. I pick her up and bring her here to visit when she isn’t in lockdown due to a covid case. She has many medical issues that pop up daily. She needs skilled nursing. The wound nurse healed her stage four bedsore when the wound doctor said it wasn’t possible. They take great care of her.
