Now I really did it :((

GM girls and happy Caturday Saturday!

@canuk-gal happy belated BD to your DH! And woohoo for a successful shopping expedition. I agree...may the sun melt everyone's snow. Stay cozy and warm and enjoy a wonderful weekend sweet Sharon. XOXO.

@Austina I am glad the house is coming along! Sorry the wrong stone was delivered but yes I get why you would take it anyway. Thanks for getting my insurance woes. Cannot make this stuff up. At this point I do not believe I will be able to get it through insurance because the deck is stacked against us that way. And we don't qualify for assistance. It's unfair in all ways especially because this med is much less expensive in other countries. Can you believe it? Made in the USA but because big pharma has a stronghold and is in bed with the government here we pay through the nose. Speak about ludicrous. But one day at a time and what will be will be. Anyway big hugs to you and I am so happy for you that the house exterior will be started next week. XOXO.

@MamaBee Enjoy a fantastic weekend in Maryland! XOXO.

@mrs-b I am with Tim. May all the snow melt soon and the sun come out and warm everyone up. We got no snow yesterday just rain. Hope your weather in S Cali warms up soon. Hugs.

@Tekate aww thanks, and same. Good luck with the consult with the hip surgeon. I am so happy you enjoyed a wonderful Zoom call with your girlfriends. It's amazing how technology can bring us together during a pandemic. Truly wonderful. I cannot believe Auti will be 3 soon. Wow where does the time go. Big hugs and I think you're perfect and do not need to lose weight but I want you to do what makes you happy. Just know you are Kate the GREAT and purrrfect in every way. (((Hugs))).

@bling_dream19 enjoy a marvelous Caturday Saturday sweet lady. XOXO.

@Slick1 hope you are having a marvelous weekend and big hugs.

@springerspaniel how is your weather behaving and I cannot believe spring is around the corner woohoo. But we know how March goes...in like a lion and out like a lamb...looking forward to the lamb part lol. XOXO.

Hi to everyone else. I got a lot accomplished yesterday and finally cooked my latest batch of root veggies. So good. Yummmm. And we played cards as it was a rainy day. Greg picked up my new containers and now I have to figure out when I am repeating that annoying test lol. That's my exciting update haha. Have a fun and wonderful Caturday Saturday and sending my sweet friends here lots of love.

Leaving you with a photo of the beach from yesterday. XOXO.

In honor of Caturday Saturday our most recent Oliver photo. This is where he stays when we leave the house and as far as I know he doesn't move from this spot til we return. OMG and LOL.

Not because he misses us, rather because he is waiting for his next meal. TRUTH.

See that tongue? We are driving up here to the house and he is already salivating...

Happy Caturday Saturday

@he’s such a rascal @missy, but a totally adorable rascal  It’s a totally ludicrous situation with the meds., and yes, why should it be cheaper everywhere else, when you factor in the shipping, taxes etc., it just doesn’t make sense. Hopefully, you’ll figure something out, but your frustration levels must be sky high! Our middle boy, Monty, would go upstairs when we went out, and sit with his chin on the landing window sill, watching the neighbours and waiting for us to get home. Our neighbours used to laugh that he was ‘on guard’, because he was the sweetest, dopiest dog ever.

The builders are saying May @mrs-b, they’re desperate to get the homes completed so they can get some money rolling in. Fortunately, when we signed, we only had to give a small deposit, we had to pay for the structural changes (not a large amount), and a small proportion for the upgrades. So they’re out the cost of the land, the slab, framing, windows, insulation, Sheetrock and the materials for the exterior, plus other sundry expenses with inspections, permits etc. So with several houses on the go, I think they’re almost as desperate as we are to get it done. Couldn’t agree more about the weather, what’s going on? If we wanted cold, we could’ve stayed in the UK

Hi @Tekate, it’s a total PITA dealing with the airline people, although this is the first time we’ve had a major issue with BA and getting a refund. We know for future reference to record any phone conversations regarding changes and cancellations if it’s going to be this much of a hassle. I would also suggest taking screen shots of anything in your account. I hope you can get it all sorted out soon.

Hope you’ve recovered from the journey @MamaBee and will be having a lovely relaxing weekend.

It’s another frigid day here, Colin’s watching the international rugby, so we’ll be staying in and keeping warm.

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

Hi again! I never did get a chance this morning to catch up..I’m actually sitting in the car in the Home Depot parking lot waiting for S to buy two flag poles for the front of the house. We just did a bunch of errands and I’m pooped. David and I told him we will wait for him in the car. Then we’ll head over to pick up some things at Whole Foods for dinner.

@mrs-b S is a terrible driver. He’s herky jerky..I’m constantly reminding him to stay in his lane. He looks at stuff on the side of the road and doesn’t turn back to see a car is stopped in front of him. This man is Mensa smart..I just don’t get it. I screamed quite a few times on the drive down yesterday.
We go back to Pa on Monday.. but coming back on Friday..Jackson’s birthday is Sunday but we’ll see him to give him his presents on Saturday.
It sounds like you have some gorgeous things planned. I can’t wait to see them!

@missy I am so upset your insurance company is giving you a hard time..
That’s awful you have to do another urine collection! I told you what happens to me when I have to do it!

I never go to finish this..Talk tomorrow! XO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Austina I have enjoyed 24. It’s always the same plot with different terrorists but keeps my interest. I did like Being the Ricardos; Nicole Kidman did not look like Lucy but had her down pat for segments from the I Love Lucy show. I think the closest casting was J.K. Simmons as Fred Mertz. That is interesting about the Indian food and what is considered hot. What Marty enjoyed most about his time in the UK at the Indian food but he didn’t think it was hot enough - too bad he didn’t have your recommendations then. What a hassle for Colin to try and get a refund from BA! Good luck with that. I tried to get my free year of Apple TV+ that came with both my new phone and iPad and after 90 minutes on the phone and getting transferred around I gave up when the last transfer cut me off. I was too agitated to call back. Glad there is progress on your house. Boo the stones they delivered weren’t what you ordered but I hope you like them.

@missy my decision to NOT go to Denver was when Marty said he was leaving at 5 am. Sadly I woke up at 4 when he was taking a shower and got up to talk to him and then couldn’t fall asleep again until after 6. Oh well, I’m retired so I slept in a bit. My teeth were fine yesterday; the only spot still tender is where I got a shot. I am so sorry about your medicine not being approved; good luck to Greg getting that worked out for! So frustrating! And oh no you have to do the 24 hour urine test again. Guys have it easier than us ladies doing that. Great storm cloud picture!

@bling_dream19 are you baking anything delicious this weekend?

@canuk-gal darn you didn’t pick up a Tiffany fund ticket; but there is always tomorrow. I need to remember to turn in our $3 winner to get another ticket. Happy Birthday to your DH!!!

@MamaBee hope you are getting settled in at your Maryland home.

@Tekate I can’t imagine how much fun it is to make cookies with Auti. That’s wonderful you get to spoil here 2 days this coming week. Sadly we’ve had worse than -30 wind chill here but it’s usually more December / January weather than late February. I hope your weather warms up soon. Good luck with your hihp surgeon appointment.

@mrs-b sorry you are having chilly weather too. I’ve been to California twice and yes I was cold both times. That’s okay though I had fun and since I’m from Wyoming I am used to being cold. Thanks for the tooth wishes; if all goes well I might get a permanent crown by summer. I did not go to Denver; but think of the sapphires I could have looked at all day long! Marty was within a few miles of my favorite sapphire store. I like all of your jewelry plans. I love 3 stone rings but that is a bit too much on my finger. I have some 3 stone gemstone rings but the side stones aren’t very big. Ooh to a constellation locket. There is a jeweler that makes constellation jewelry; Orion is about $15,000. I hope you are doing well.

I have been busy running errands, knitting and working on the March club newsletter. Marty and I ate out today and decided to stop and get ice cream on the way home from late lunch and I forgot to take pictures for us. I had chocolate and cake batter and got really cold (colder) eating it but I managed to get it all down. Ha ha!

We were in the 20’s today and had sunshine. What a treat!

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy fun day Sunday! It feels like Monday to me for some reason...

@Austina he is a rascal. OMG. Not one day goes by you don't hear me yelling "OLIVER!!!" lol
I hope your weather warms up soon and looking forward to hearing updates about the house. XO.

@MamaBee glad you had a good trip despite S's jerky driving and hope dinner from WF was delish. It's nice to have two homes to go back and forth to but I have to admit I like staying put these days. All the packing of the cats and food wasn't something I enjoyed. Happy birthday to Jackson next weekend. I was planning on doing the 24 hour collection today but I woke up and decided I didn't feel like it. LOL please remind me what you told me as I forgot. Text me if you don't want to share here. LOL I am already laughing and I have my own stories to share haha.

@marcy oh yes I hear you then. 5AM no thanks. The only time I leave the house at 5AM (actually 4:45AM) is to head into the city to see our endocrinologist. I do not enjoy those trips. AT all. I am glad your teeth are feeling OK and of course I am continuing to send healing vibes your way. I never enjoy getting work done on my teeth. Never fun and always relieved when it is over. Yes so much easier for guys to do that test. I don't even know why I am repeating it truth be told. Yes the tech did it wrong but my results were as low in 2020 and 2021 so what is that definition of insanity again? Expecting things to turn out differently this time despite nothing changing. LOL and yup. I am just wasting my energy and time but I have to repeat it just to be 100% sure. Sigh. Have a wonderful Sunday sweet Marcy. Wow to working on the March letter already and it isn't even March. You are very proactive. Oooh ice cream! Yummmmm. And hugs to the teddy bears and yes even the killer bunnies. :) Yay for sunny weather despite the 20s. Hopefully Spring temps will arrive soon though for you Spring temps can be winter cold lol. But you know what they say about March...in like a lion but out like a lamb. Cmon lamb weather get here soon. Hugs.

@canuk-gal hope you have a happy sunny and super Sunday. XOXO.

@mrs-b hope your weather is warming up. XOXO.

@bling_dream19 hope you have a lovely Sunday. Hugs.

@Slick1 hope the weekend is going well and things are good. XOXO.

@Tekate Great Kate hope you are having a fabulous weekend and Auti is happy and all is well. Did someone say cookies? YUmmmmmm. Hugs.

@springerspaniel good morning! Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and hugs to Freddie and Clyde. I hope everyone is doing very well. XOXO.

Hi to everyone else. We had a great hike yesterday. Sunny and in the high 30s. Not bad for February. Today is windy windy windy but sunny too so we are looking forward to a hike. Have I mentioned today feels like Monday to me? Tomorrow I have a gyn appt and am NOT looking toward to that at all. Sigh. Lots of maintenance to take care of at my age lol. Have a super Sunday girls and leaving you with a photo from our hike yesterday.

Screen Shot 2022-02-27 at 6.55.44 AM.png

Love to my sweet friends here. XOXO. Have a bright and sunny Sunday!

@Austina It’s great you’re seeing some progress on your house. May will be a beautiful time to move in..
S also wouldn’t let BA get away with keeping our money. Some people would be so tired of fighting them that they give up. My husband would be like a dog and a bone. Not only does it involve money but it’s also the principle of the thing.

@marcy We started binge watching 24 when we lived in Missouri. It continued into our move to Pennsylvania..We got hooked on it..

I love the quilt your mom made. The dinosaur blanket is also adorable. I have a vintage hand pieced quilt. I’ve always loved them..We live near the Amish..They make such gorgeous ones..but boy are they expensive.

I wish I could knit..You did a really nice job on Marty’s hats…My mom taught me to do a crocheted chain stitch as a child but she never taught me how to connect them. I would crochet miles of that chain stitch. She would then pull it out so I could start over again. I never got anywhere so I gave up!

I thought of you last week when my crockpot died.. I loved that thing…My husband wanted pot roast so I took out one my Le Creuset pots to make it. It made the most mouthwatering pot roast ever. I only took a tiny bite to taste it..It was yummy..I have four of those pots but I stopped using them for some reason. Now I’m thinking of tons of things to make in them.

Brb..hopefully..:roll2:

GM girls! Happy (how did it get here so fast!) Monday! And happy last day of February!

@MamaBee safe trip back to Pa.

@bling_dream19 have a good week.

@Slick1 hope the week goes smoothly.

@canuk-gal hope the weekend went well and you're staying cozy and warm.

@mrs-b thinking of you.

@marcy what's a Monday as HRH Francesca used to ask. LOL

@Austina hope the week brings more good news.

@Tekate great Kate have a wonderful week and be well. Hi to your family and please send my love.

@springerspaniel hope all is going well.

Hi to everyone else. I have a gynecology appointment later this AM and then not sure what we are doing because winter has returned. Yesterday was lovely and we had a nice long hike. But February is leaving us in the deep freeze with temps in the 20s. Hopefully it will warm up this week. We shall see. Oh and I made a mistake and should have stayed away from Wordle but this AM I got curious and checked it out and OMG I see why it is addictive LOL. Big hugs to my sweet NIRDI friends. XOXO.

Screen Shot 2022-02-28 at 6.08.18 AM.png

I love the winter colors. I know that sounds odd but they keep changing and right now there is so much red and orange and brown in the landscape. It is breathtaking IMO. And quite the contrast to the other seasons. I enjoy all 4 seasons and the beauty each season brings.

Enjoy a marvelous Monday!

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely and warm today again--slushy outside. I think temps will be fluctuating by weeks end--colder and possible flurries. I''ll ignore those predictions.

Noisy here today with the carpenters doing the custom window framing, but soon it will be over, then onto paint, the DONE. I like the look of it all, already. Lots of $$$ and a bit of a slog, but glad it is coming to fruition.

I was out today helping with a clean up associated with a move--SO much work! Luckily it isn't a huge space, but it is amazing how dirty even small spaces get.

I work two days this week--just enough.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Don't worry @MamaBee Colin has no intention of letting BA get away with our refund. The CC company has closed our claim 2 or 3 times now, and he keeps reopening it! I just don't get how they don't understand that we wouldn't have been refunded our Avios points if we hadn't cancelled the flights, so why haven't our taxes been refunded ? Colin hasn't driven here, apart from on his test, and he has no intention of doing so, he rarely drove when we were in the UK. I can honestly say I've never seen such bad driving in all my life:shock:

Glad it's warmed up a bit @canuk-gal, makes all the difference to see the sun shining. 2 days sounds more than enough to be working, and I hope you enjoy your non work days this week.

I thought NK hardly looked like NK in The Ricardos @marcy, but she did capture Lucy's mannerisms, and I never knew the back stories of real life Ethel & Fred either. I'm not surprised the early start outweighed the thought of going window shopping to Denver  Isn't 5am the middle of the night still?

I really hope your appt went well this morning @missy, and everything crossed something positive came out of it. This weather is just plain weird isn't it?

The stones are the right stones, just not the right sizes, but honestly we're past the point of caring as long as they get on with it. The weather has really perked up, so the temperatures should be perfect for the stucco and stonework this week. It's actually pretty warm today and beautifully sunny.

We went out to do a food shop today, the weekend was taken up with the excitement of cleaning, changing the bedding, and doing all the laundry  Oh the glamour of it all!!

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are having a good start to the week. :wavey:

I haven't been able to take time to write because I am tying off loose ends at work and simultaneously opening up new ones to start after April 1. They are still treating me like a small child, and I just grit my teeth through the endless and mindless ZOOM cheerleading meetings meant for those who have no idea how to get the work done. Seriously--yesterday's meeting was all about how to import a patient's treatment plan into your daily note (a requirement, as I have understood it for the past 5 years). And there is no one who just started work within the past few months.

Only a few more weeks.

Hi to everyone on this lovely Tuesday--and I will try to catch up with you all this weekend!

GM girls! Happy terrific Tuesday!

@springerspaniel ugh I was afraid that was the case. Hold on...just one more month. Sending you good wishes and big hugs. You are strong. But I am so sorry you are being treated this way. Just a few more weeks. ((((((HUGS))))))).

Hi @Austina glad your weather is warming up and I agree. Just get the house finished. It will look lovely no matter the size stone.

Thanks for asking...It was a good gyn appointment as she was in a good mood though OMG she noticed my ring (first time she ever mentioned it though I have seen her 4 times at least so far) and she said...that is a HUGE diamond. OMG thank goodness I was wearing a mask to hide my blush lol.

Unfortunately the pap caused bleeding (first time ever though I have had 30 plus paps) and now I am concerned the bleeding is going to become a problem.

We had a really good hike yesterday after the appointment. And we saw deer too.

Today Greg has a neurological appointment to determine the cause of the pain he's been experiencing in his hand.

Hi @MamaBee @Slick1 @bling_dream19 @canuk-gal @mrs-b @marcy @Tekate and everyone else!

Leaving you with a few photos from our day yesterday.

@MamaBee can you find the doe?
:)

I am so enamored of her. A sweet doe. Sugar sweet. In LOVE.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!

@springerspaniel sorry for your stress. Sending happy thoughts your way.
@missy how could anyone miss your ring!!!
@Austina too bad your rocks where not the correct carat weight!. I'm sure they'll look lovely once set!

I am a bit sore today from all the elbow grease needed to scrub ovens and showers....anyway just did some decluttering instead of cleaning. It will be easier once stuff has been moved.

Lovely bright and sunny today. Painters are here putting on finishing touches on the custom window frames.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Hang in there @springerspaniel, only a few more weeks to go, then you can move forward.

Ugh sorry @missy, that’s happened to me too the last couple of times, it was excruciating. FWIW the bleeding didn’t last long, but it’s not something I want to repeat in a hurry. Love the photos, deer are such beautiful, fragile looking creatures.

Yay to your windows nearly being finished @canuk-gal, it’ll be great for it to be done.

Talking of windows, we went up to the house, and the 2 missing windows are missing no longer  The plasterboarding is all finished, taping and mudding all done, plus more stones have been delivered. The container ship has docked in Houston, and our container will be offloaded in a few days, then taken in to storage in Austin. So all in all, a good day.

Big love & hugs to you all :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy gorgeous photos from your hikes. I hope this test gets better results. I can’t even “get” an order for my tests. I told Marty tonight I’d find another doctor but then I’d be starting all over again. My prescriptions are all hosed up so I’ll need an appointment soon to get them renewed. It’s frustrating. I need new glasses too; I got pretty big glasses last summer and my face is so much smaller now they are resting on my cheek and kind of giving me a dry, itchy spot there. I will get us appointments for eye exams. I post the newsletter for that month on the first so I’ll have a few weeks before I need to start on the article for the paper and of course I always use that article for the newsletter. It covers on of the pages. Ha Ha. LOL at HRH used to ask what’s Monday. I agree all four seasons are gorgeous. Glad to hear your appointment went well; I hope the bleeding has stopped. I hope Greg’s appointment went well and they figured out what is going on with his hand. Love the deer pictures.

@MamaBee it is easy to get hooked on 24. I am mid season 8 now. Yes, the Amish make fabulous quilts. When I used to sew I always bought their wool for skirts; it was very nice. Beautiful stuff! Crocheting a chain will keep you busy. I can crochet but I have to watch what I’m doing and count stitches. I believe I could knit in the dark; I learned how to knit at a very young age. That is interesting your Le Creuset pot cooked the roast so well. I might try that; did you brown it first? Marty uses those pots a lot, I tend to use my Cuisinart mostly because I can wash them in the dishwasher.

@canuk-gal that is marvelous your renovations are almost finished. Cleaning up after moving out is certainly a lot of work. When we moved here I was mortified at the dust under the bed in our guest bedroom. I know we moved stuff and cleaned upon occasion but obviously that room was ignored.

@Austina that is too bad your CC keeps closing your claim on BA - glad Colin is persistent. IMO drivers were worse in Florida than Texas but that was some years ago. I’ve gotten so I hate driving in Colorado because there are accidents everywhere. I agree NK did not look like herself but she did capture Lucy’s mannerisms. Yes, 5 am is the middle of the night. When Marty used to go work in Hong Kong we had to be on the road to the airport at 4 am - I always asked - is there even air out at that time of day? Glad the stones are right just a different size. Glad they have decent weather to work on your house. Our stones were done in December and they were working on it in the dark so when I drove by the guy had headlights shining on the house while worked. They were cutting it close to get done by our scheduled closing date. Yay for windows too.

@springerspaniel those ZOOM meetings sound a bit tedious for you; I hope you love your new job. Big hugs to get through it all and can start your new position.

I got the March newsletter posted and ran some errands today. I started on the hat for my friend’s birthday. Tomorrow I think I’ll go renew my driver’s license. Such excitement.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi all!

@Austina, so glad to hear things are finally moving along with the house. I'd feel the same way as you, just get the darn stones in already lol. I'm sure they are going to look great. Sorry about the issues with BA and I hope it gets resolved. Thanks for thinking of my brother, he hurt his knee a while back but is doing much better now.
@Tekate, so glad to see you've been talking to Kath and had a chance to visit. Auti is adorable and it must be so much fun spending time with her. You really have been through a lot these past few years. Change can be very hard and I'm glad you're feeling more like yourself now.
Hi @Calliecake, how exciting your family is expecting a new baby soon! I'm sorry your mother and stepdad had some health issues and I hope they're doing better.
@mrs-b, hope it warms up for you soon. I'll be on the lookout for those cluster earrings.
@missy, love the pic of Oliver licking his chops and waiting patiently for your return so he can have his dinner, that's so cute. Good luck with the insurance company and getting your medication approved. Sorry to hear about Greg's hand and I hope it's nothing too serious.
@marcy, the quilt turned out beautifully and what a nice remembrance of your mother for your niece to have. I didn't know you knit so well, Marty's hat looks great. I'm joining you in the excitement department, I'm going to the dentist tomorrow lol.
@bling_dream19, I'm glad life has slowed down a little for you. I'm sending continued healing vibes to your mother. I love hearing about your bling projects and can't wait to see what you do. Is your cushion reset done yet?
@MamaBee, my husband does the same thing when he drives...he'll say "what's that over there" and take his eyes off the road to look! I end up yelling "Don't look, I'll look!" Of course by then we're past whatever it was LOL. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating Jackson's birthday on Saturday.
@springerspaniel, I am so sorry your last weeks at work are so hard for you. Hang in there, you're almost there.
@canuk-gal, I was glad to see you had a good visit with your mother. Yay to working 2 days, that's a nice break for you. Glad the renovations are coming along and you're happy with them.

Everything is good with me and the family. I'm not up to much these days. Tomorrow my big outing is going to the dentist lol. Keeping busy with things around the house, and getting back into a little painting and sketching.

Have a good rest of the week, take care everyone!

GM girls! Happy Wonderful Wednesday!

Just a quick hello. Off to Quest for lab work and then to Lab Corp to drop off my 24 hour urine test lol. Cannot make this stuff up.

@marcy thanks so much. I am sorry you are having issues getting lab orders for the tests you need. And I hear you on big glasses. My face is small so almost all glasses are big on me lol. Hope you get the appointments you want for your eye exams. And I share your frustration with doctors in general. Thanks for enjoying my photos. I always take them with you girls in mind. I miss when you don't post for a few days. I am glad you are ahead of the game with the newsletters. That is smart. Greg has carpal tunnel so he will wear a brace at night and hopefully that will work. Thanks for asking. Hope all goes smoothly for your medical appointments and I am sending you healing vibes and gentle hugs.

@Austina Oh my gosh, I am sorry you experienced that too. I never had bleeding after a pap before. Two days so far. I hope it stops today. And I hope you have happy home updates for us. Hugs.

@junebug17 aww thanks. If you want a cat Oliver can be yours...just say the word. He is a devil angel cat. OMG before him I had no clue cats could be so difficult. You would think after 30 years of having cats in my family I'd know but I didn't lol. I am glad all is going well with you and your lovely family and no news is good news. Good luck today at the dentist! XOXO.

@bling_dream19 happy wonderful Wednesday! Hugs.

@Slick1 hope the week is going smoothly. XOXO.

@MamaBee hope you enjoyed a wonderful visit with your momma yesterday. Hugs.

@canuk-gal hope you are having a good week. XOXO.

Hi everyone else. Please excuse the post and run. Off to Quest for my 6:30 AM appointment. I guess not sleeping late has its benefits haha.

Leaving you with a photo during our hike yesterday. We went local.

@springerspaniel our tree is hanging in there...long may it thrive. C'mon Spring.

Screen Shot 2022-03-02 at 6.07.52 AM.png

Hi NIRDI’s!

@junebug17 I hope your dentist appointment went well today. I do like to knit and have enjoyed picking up that hobby again. I am glad to hear you and your family are doing well.

@missy I hope your test results go well. Sorry to hear about Greg’s carpal tunnel; some of my friends have had trouble with that and I know it is very painful. I hope the brace at night takes care of that.

Not much on my plate today. I had a restless night so slept in and think I’ll skip my errands today. It’s not like I have a pressing schedule these days.

We have nice spring weather today through Friday. Then Friday night the cold and snow returns. I tell myself three more months of winter.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! It's terrific Thursday!

@marcy so far so good. He doesn't mind sleeping with the brace and at first he was hesitant as he tried it years ago. But this time around so far so good. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your good wishes. I am glad you could have a relaxing day yesterday and hope you slept better last night. Glad you enjoyed some spring weather and hahaha true Wyoming probably has a few months of winter left...but hopefully not. LOL. It is super windy right now and the wind is howling fiercely. I hear the ocean roaring too. Hopefully the winds will slow down a bit as this does not feel sustainable. And you know what "they" say about March. In like a lion roarrrrr but hopefully out like a little lamb baaa baaaa. We turn the clocks ahead in less than 2 weeks. Wow.

@Slick1 @bling_dream19 @canuk-gal @Austina @MamaBee @junebug17 @springerspaniel @mrs-b good morning!

Hi everyone else. Hope all is going well. We had a nice hike yesterday and it was super mild. But our cold weather has returned. I cannot believe it is already Thursday. Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful day. XOXO.

Leaving you with a photo from our hike yesterday.

The sun was bright and warm and delicious.
Enjoy a delicious day girls. (((Hugs))).

Hello lovelies

I'm glad Greg is coping better with the brace this time @missy, let's hope it does what it's supposed to and help with the CT. Ugh to the lab screwing up your urine collection, Oy to the max! I never imagine health care could be so incompetent. Fingers crossed the bleeding's stopped. Sorry your weather has turned cold again, it's lovely and warm here.

I hope your dental appt went well @junebug17 and you didn't need any nasty treatment.

Just one of the many perks of being retired @marcy, if you don't feel like doing something, it can always wait until tomorrow! What type of hat are you knitting for your friend?

We went to a plant nursery yesterday and o_O at the cost of their plants. They didn't even look that great either. I've seen better specimens in the local Home Depot. The price of their trees, good grief, even at 50% off they were still hundreds. Still, it's nice to see what will and won't grow here, and gave us an idea of what we could have.

Would you believe we have another issue on our hands? Colin transferred money last week (like he's been doing almost daily to get all our funds over here), and it hasn't turned up. We're not talking about a small sum either, so you can imagine how worried and stressed he is. He's spoken to both banks (sending and receiving) who say it's unusual to take this long, but wait until Friday before they'll launch an investigation. Why is everything so complicated? Ugh.

We popped up to the house today, and they've started work on the outside, and the inside is almost all dried out, so hopefully next week will see even more activity.

Please keep your fingers, eyes and toes crossed the money turns up

Sending big love and hugs to you all. :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's1

@missy that is good news Greg doesn't mind sleeping with the brace on his wrist. It is amazing how something like that makes us so uncomfortable we can't sleep well. I sprained my ankle once and had one of those velcro splints on it; I turned over in bed and put that foot over first and it pulled me right out on the floor. I didn't get hurt except my pride. Ha Ha. I hope your wind has died down. I love listening to the ocean. Around here I say March comes in like a lion and goes out like one too. March and April tend to be our snowiest months. Beautiful picture from your hike.

@Austina I am definitely finding many benefits to being retired. And loving it. I am making my friend a hat, mittens and scarf set that has a twisted rib pattern. It's with bulky yarn so going fast. I think I'll knit myself a vest next. Trees are awfully expensive, glad you can get a discount on them. That really stinks about the transfer not showing up yet; I know banks always claim they don't make mistakes but they do. Good luck getting that resolved and I would be totally stressed as well.

I renewed my driver's license this morning and found out taking my vision screening paperwork with me instead of taking their vision test maybe wasn't a good idea. Something they checked on it means I have to send in a vision screening result once a year. No big deal since we do get our eyes checked once a year but I will probably forget. I took my camera with me to take pictures but the mountains were blocked by giant windmills, phooey. I headed south to the state line looking for a better shot but never found one. I will explore that again some other day. I was nice taking my car for a run anyway.

I picked up some groceries and visited with my sister. This afternoon I lifed and finished season 8 of 24. I might spring for the $12.99 to watch season 9 on Prime.

Take care.
Marcy

HI:

Good gracious @Austina WOT a worry. Your stress must be off any scale...positive vibes your way

cheers--Sharon

GM girls! Happy FriYAY!

@Austina oh no, I am sorry. Hopefully it is just taking longer because of all the delays happening now. What a mess. I am sure you will get it straightened out but in the meantime who needs this aggravation. I am glad the house is coming along. That is good news indeed. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that your money shows up today. Big hugs and lots of love.

@marcy thanks. I am with you. Sleeping with anything like that is uncomfortable. When I broke my tibia and fibula and had a cast for 4 plus months I had to learn to sleep on my back. It wasn't easy. I know Greg would be more comfortable without the brace but hopefully it will help him. As for falling out of bed I hear you. It hasn't happened to me yet but well I never say never lol. I am doing my darnedest not to fall these days as I am one fall away from a big problem. Glad you renewed your license. But what do you mean now you have to send in your vision test every year? If you had taken their test on site you wouldn't have to do that? Interesting as here I cannot remember the last time they asked for our vision check. In fact it has been many many years since they have. We renewed online in 2020 or was it 2021 due to the pandemic so hopefully we don't have that to do for a long time. I am not sure I would pass the vision part. Glad you lifted and sweet you got to visit your sister. Haha March is in like a lion and out like a lion by you. Truth. Big hugs to you and be well.

@bling_dream19 big hugs to you and your family. I am so sorry. Looking forward to chatting later.
Keeping you and T's family in my thoughts. (((Hugs))).

@canuk-gal any weekend plans? XOXO.

@Slick1 it's friYAY again woohoo. Whenever Monday comes I know it won't be too bad because FriYAY gets here before we know it. The weekend here looks sort of a mixed bag. Cold and windy tomorrow (like today) but wet and really warm (70s) Sunday. Oh well. We will take it. It's not a blizzard and it's not a storm. That's good. Enjoy a wonderful weekend. XOXO.

Hi to everyone else. Hope the week's going smoothly. Today we might head to Rudy's as I need a very wide large pan/pot (I don't know the kitchen terms lol) for sautéing my root veggies as I make a lot of them at once and this would help me. We shall see if they have it there. But then again I am not sure I feel like heading out there as it is a distance. So I will see where the morning takes me and if we are up to it we will head to Rudy's later. Yesterday was errand day. We were going to hike but I was tired so decided better to run errands as I needed stuff. And it was a successful shopping expedition. Have a FriYAY filled with more YAY than anything else and stay well. Big hugs and lots of love to my NIRDI friends.

Leaving you with a photo from yesterday as I was on my treadmill. I noticed Sasha in the backyard and then poof, she disappeared. LOL where do they go when they go under the deck. They love the beach. :)

@MamaBee find Sasha! :lol:

Enjoy a happy FriYAY girls. XOXO.

Seriously--yesterday's meeting was all about how to import a patient's treatment plan into your daily note (a requirement, as I have understood it for the past 5 years). And there is no one who just started work within the past few months.

Only a few more weeks.
Good lord - that really makes you wonder what people have been doing all this time, doesn't it?!!

4 more weeks! Hang in there, girl!

@missy - your photos this week have been sublime! That stormy sky photo from last Saturday took my breath away. But I'm with Sasha - I LOVE the beach and I'd be hanging out on the sand as close to the water as I could get, if I was able. How are you feeling? Has the bleeding from the pap stopped? And...PLEASE DON'T FALL!! <3. How is Greg's wrist/hand feeling? I've had RSI in both elbows when I used to play a LOT of competitive squash - it was gruesome! Hoping he's feeling better soon.

@Austina - yay to finally having all the windows and stones of the right size! I'm pretty sure it's time for an update photo? I'm sending HEAPS of positive vibes for the 'wandering money'! Hoping it turns up very soon! Money stress is stress of an exquisitely painful variety.... Hugs to you!

@junebug17 - you sketch and draw?? That's WONDERFUL! What sort of things do you do and what's your favorite medium? And how did the dentist go? I hope your weekend is quiet but fulfilling. :)) (...and if you ever feel like sharing any photos of your artwork, I would love to see!)

@marcy - how is the knitting going? Your friend is very lucky to be getting those things from you! I just finished knitting myself a tiny scarf. Tiny - in that it's only about 32" long. I wanted one that was much shorter than normal, that held together with a beautiful pin I have, rather than yards of wrapping around my neck (which I also love - but I wanted something less voluminous this time). Being shorter, it looks more like something you'd leave on while you were out to dinner, for example, rather than peeling it off with your coat and gloves. It's a caramel color and baby alpaca. I'm an 'almost useless' knitter - I have only one stitch that I know how to do. I also only knit one thing (scarves). But, oddly, I have perfect tension and I never make mistakes. So if you want a beautifully knitted, utterly plain and uninspired scarf in top quality wool (I compensate for my lack of ability by using the best yarns I can find) - then I'm your girl! Unfortunately, given that I can only knit one thing, once you've had a scarf from me, our knitting relationship is pretty much over! On a different note - how are your teeth feeling? I'm glad you're enjoying retirement; you deserve it! Looking forward to seeing more photos as and when they get taken.

@canuk-gal - I hope your muscles have improved after your cleaning! And yay for two days of work! How did the weather pan out? Did those flurries eventuate? I'll bet you're looking forward to warmer weather and getting back on your bike! Are you able to get riding in the spring? I'm thinking about getting an electric bike - because I want to get out and about but am lazy. <sigh> I'd probably do better getting an elliptical, frankly; the back situation has made exercise very, very difficult. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

So today is Eleanor's 21st birthday! Yaaaaaay! I am SO glad she was born! I had a solid gold bangle that matches mine made for her, and I also bought a locket for Ballin (my dog, who Eleanor ADORES) to give her (sort of - in a manner of speaking - more or less - etc etc). He also wrote her a poem and it's in the card. It says something about going for lots of walks. We've also got a new iPhone for her - the zippiest one, as she uses her phone a lot for art - a matching pair of earrings to go with the bangle, some cash for her investment account, and a return ticket to Australia for her to come out with me next year for a vacation. She's flying down from UC Berkeley this morning and we're all going out for dinner this evening. It should be a lovely day.

Warm thoughts and greetings to @Slick1, @bling_dream19, @MamaBee (are you back from MD?), @Tekate and @sarahb. Happy weekend to you all! oxo

Thank you, AG. <3 I just took a screen shot and sent it to the birthday girl. :)) She'll love it.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!

@mrs-b many happy returns of the day to Eleanor!!! Have a great day !!!

@missy the weather predictions were unfortunately, true. Cold and snow!! More than we've had all winter!!! Of course it is a busy weekend and we'll have to muck around outside.....

@marcy hope your days are filled with retirement fun. I had a gorgeous two days of work--I wish they ere all like that!

@Austina not sure it is world events right now hampering your $$ transfers but hope it gets cleared up soon. Glad the house is progressing.

@springerspaniel hope your work transition is going well.

@MamaBee hope things are going well for you and your family. Unfortunately my Mom got Covid (at her facility) and at present only has a cough. Hope it doesn't progress. I am heartbroken, but there were outbreaks where she lives. Gosh and we'd come so far without it.......

@junebug17 glad things are lovely your way and that you are enjoying your artistic endeavors.

@bling_dream19 hope you have a restful weekend

Well, the painting got pushed back a day, so on my day off will be people here...yada yada yada...but today should be the last day. I do need to go out on errands but will limit them bc we have an otherwise busy weekend (help moving etc) and I want to lay low today.

Stay safe and well folks, and above all be in good sprits!

cheers--Sharon

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

Gorgeous pics @mrs-b I am so happy the party went well and again a very happy 21st birthday to sweet Eleanor. :appl:Hugs.

@canuk-gal wow, hopefully it's the last winter hurrah and all the snow melts soon...spring is around the corner. And we set the clocks ahead early this year. I wish we would just leave the clocks. All this going back and forward makes me dizzy not to mention messes up my med schedule lol. Stay warm and cozy and enjoy a lovely weekend. XOXO

@Slick1 hope the weekend is fun and you enjoy much needed relaxation. XOXO

@bling_dream19 big big hugs and keeping good thoughts for you. (((((HUGS)))))).

@Austina hope you have a lovely weekend. XOXO

@marcy have a wonderful weekend and whatever you do enjoy.

@MamaBee couldn't you find Sasha?

@springerspaniel the countdown begins...just over 3 more weeks now. Have a great weekend and hugs to Freddie and Clyde and you.

Hi everyone else. We did go to Rudy's yesterday and got a few needed items. A huge two burner griddle, utensils, large beautiful blue cutting board and miscellaneous items. We love Rudy's. I don't know how much longer they will be open as Rudy is old. He was old twenty years ago lol. He is a curmudgeonly but lovable individual. LOL.

Today is COLD. Tomorrow warm but rainy. Par for NE weather.
Hoping to do a hike today at our favorite place. Saturday got here fast.
Have a wonderful weekend girls. Be well and enjoy. XOXO.

In honor of Caturday Saturday leaving you with Big boy Bobby...he loves hanging out with us in the AM as we enjoy coffee in bed. He is a big boy. His tail can be used as a weapon. It's huge and powerful and when it hits you...ouch.
