Now I really did it :((

Hola all.

Been freaked out and bereft about the Ukraine, I'm 6% Ukranian :) so what, that's not why I feel so sad and angry, it's because I thought we were past this stuff. wrong. So I've been an avid reader of news and I had Autumn Thursday all day and I get tired, I worked the polls Tuesday 6- 1 pm (they wanted this old bag to work 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. hahahahah NO).

@mrs-b hello my wonderful friend and the woman who's jewelry I covet :) I was going through my pix here before posting and there is a pix of me wearing your HUGE diamond, swoonin again :) but how are you? Hey my pool is your pool visit.. I'd love that. I hope your back is okay, I've not read the whole thread so there may be more news ahead.. you be good to you. Okay I just saw your pix, such a beautiful family MrsB.. handsome man! (but I knew that)..

@marcy how's the tooth, I HATE dentists and teeth and especially implants, I have spent 5K on 2 implants that did take and I spent 2.5K on a sucker that become so infected I developed osteomyelitis for 2 years.. now it's just a metal tab and I had to get a denture with 3 teeth in it, can't drill my jaw anymore and the device cuts my tongue never ending story with me, but I'd rather have a cut tongue than an infection again.

@canuk-gal sorry I missed your bday girlie, hope it was wonderful and weather cooperated.. :)

@missy beautiful and kind my friend Missy, sounds like a good shopping excursion.. I miss you, are you going to sell Brooklyn? inquiring minds want to know.. eventually I have to get up to the city, right now Chris is looking for a new place as they raised his rent sky higher than it was. :( Hello Bobby, so beautiful.. so regal.. I love cats.. How's Greg feeling and doing sleeping? I had tennis elbow once and man that was very painful, had to wear a band on my arm, which then I developed RW (don't want to say it to you, it's horrid and hard to get rid of) anyway I hope Greg is doing well and
how is Missy feeling? Missy come here any any time. Love you mucho. (Miss, I will be happy to help you - i hope you understand what I am saying.. I'm here for you).

@Austina how's the house going, the son and DIL? Colin? we are getting by fine here more or less, I'm president of our homeowners association! 12 houses hahaha.. weather getting better but I read we might get one more cold spell, I can say sincerely that this time in south central texas living - it's been colder. We put a chiller in our pool and we can heat it too, BUT it would take 2 days since it is a heat pump. Wow if your house is done by May I think that is a win! our house still has things not finished and our builder won't return calls, you have a contract with a specified price, unless the contract states if prices go up you would have to renegotiate the cost of your house is on them, that was our builder's problem, things kept getting more expensive and many he jerked us about. When we have time to chat in person I'll tell you all about it.. builders stink, pharmacies stink, the whole thing stinks. xoxo

Lunch soon? let me know.

@springerspaniel how's the pups doing? how are doing.. the inane meetings at IBM used to make me bonkers, unfortunately I always spoke up and got in trouble.. but I am who I am.. sending you a huge hug xo

@MamaBee what's going on with you? how's mom doing? xo

to all my NIRDi girls! I love you all and I think of you guys all the time. I'm getting fatter, it took me till this last shutdown to finally gain weight, I was careful :( sending bundles of good vibes and dust to you all.

Hi all!

@Austina, so glad to hear things are finally moving along with the house. I'd feel the same way as you, just get the darn stones in already lol. I'm sure they are going to look great. Sorry about the issues with BA and I hope it gets resolved. Thanks for thinking of my brother, he hurt his knee a while back but is doing much better now.
@Tekate, so glad to see you've been talking to Kath and had a chance to visit. Auti is adorable and it must be so much fun spending time with her. You really have been through a lot these past few years. Change can be very hard and I'm glad you're feeling more like yourself now.
Hi @Calliecake, how exciting your family is expecting a new baby soon! I'm sorry your mother and stepdad had some health issues and I hope they're doing better.
@mrs-b, hope it warms up for you soon. I'll be on the lookout for those cluster earrings.
@missy, love the pic of Oliver licking his chops and waiting patiently for your return so he can have his dinner, that's so cute. Good luck with the insurance company and getting your medication approved. Sorry to hear about Greg's hand and I hope it's nothing too serious.
@marcy, the quilt turned out beautifully and what a nice remembrance of your mother for your niece to have. I didn't know you knit so well, Marty's hat looks great. I'm joining you in the excitement department, I'm going to the dentist tomorrow lol.
@bling_dream19, I'm glad life has slowed down a little for you. I'm sending continued healing vibes to your mother. I love hearing about your bling projects and can't wait to see what you do. Is your cushion reset done yet?
@MamaBee, my husband does the same thing when he drives...he'll say "what's that over there" and take his eyes off the road to look! I end up yelling "Don't look, I'll look!" Of course by then we're past whatever it was LOL. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating Jackson's birthday on Saturday.
@springerspaniel, I am so sorry your last weeks at work are so hard for you. Hang in there, you're almost there.
@canuk-gal, I was glad to see you had a good visit with your mother. Yay to working 2 days, that's a nice break for you. Glad the renovations are coming along and you're happy with them.

Everything is good with me and the family. I'm not up to much these days. Tomorrow my big outing is going to the dentist lol. Keeping busy with things around the house, and getting back into a little painting and sketching.

Have a good rest of the week, take care everyone!

Hello June, I think you are up in Jersey, cold there? My son says Brooklyn is wet and rainy. sending you a huge Kate hug June. xo (I hate dentists).

Hello lovelies

Honestly, you just can’t make this stuff up. We spent a great deal of time yesterday on the phone, one bank is saying one thing, and the other, the complete opposite. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and we’re still a small fortune out. How can our money be lost? The UK bank is saying the US bank contacted them to confirm details, the US bank is saying they have no record of the conversation and no idea where our money is :x2 So as well as sleepless nights all week, we now have to wait till Monday to get in touch with the UK bank again. Colin’s going to get up before 4am (because of the time difference) so he can speak to them to put a trace on the money, and give them the whole day to try and find out what the hell is going on.

On top of that, I finally managed to get paint swatches of the exterior colours. I queried them at the time, because they didn’t look grey to me, and I was assured they’re grey. They’re not, and I HATE them.

Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer, but I’ve really had enough, I woke up yesterday, covered in a rash and my stomach in knots.

Yes @Tekate, our house is a fixed price contract, so whatever extra it’s costing the builder, they can’t pass the costs on to us. We’d love to do lunch again soon, just let us know when and where.

I’m not surprised Eleanor loved her presents @mrs-b, how could she not, they’re spectacular. It looks like she had a wonderful celebration, and I’m so glad you were all able to be together.

I’m sorry to be so brief, but I’m so fed up I can’t function too well ATM.

I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend, big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

Hello Everyone

@Tekate, This war has everyone feeling sad for the people of Ukraine. None of this had to happen. It’s all so senseless and wrong. I wish we could discuss it at length but unfortunately we can’t. Watching what the people of Ukraine are going thru is heartbreaking. It makes me feel so grateful for what we have.

@mrs-b, What beautiful pictures. I’m glad everyone had a great time. Eleanor looks like she had a wonderful birthday. Did her bracelet fit her wrist well?

@junebug17, I hope all is well with you and your family. I was happy to read your post. I remember how much you said you enjoy painting in the past.

@marcy, It’s so good to hear you are loving retirement. Listening to you talk about 24 reminds me of how I was with Grey’s Anatomy when I retired. I’d never seen it and became quickly addicted. I tried to limit myself to 3 episodes a day but it was easy to get sucked in and watch more. Do you have any other shows you are looking forward to watching when you are finished with 24? I look forward to seeing your pictures Marcy.

@bling_dream19 , Do you have any new projects in the works?

@canuk-gal , I hope your mom is feeling better now and her cough is getting better. Hearing she caught Covid had to be really upsetting. You must be thrilled to have the house renovations complete.

@Austina, I hope everything is straightened out with the bank transfer on Monday. What a stressful pain in the neck. Is the builder working on more options for you regarding the paint colors? If they aren’t going to give you other options could you just purchase the paint you want and have them use that? I’m sorry you are dealing with all this at the same time.

@MamaBee, How are you? How is your mom doing?

@springerspaniel , Hopefully the next three weeks will fly by for you.

Nothing much new here except for helping a friends son get his engagement ring. He had his fiancé talk to me about what she wants. I’m hoping she loves her ring when it arrives.

I'll be back soon to write more but @canuk-gal, sending healing vibes to your mother and I hope she recovers quickly. Sending good thoughts to you too, I know you're worried.

Hi NIRDI’s

@canuk-gal I hope didn’t work too hard helping move. Is your house all done? How nice to enjoy a two day work week. You deserve the break.

@missy I hope neither of us fall; I worry about that all the time and is why I hate ice so much. I was much younger when I did the pull myself right out of bed trick. It only hurt my pride. At the DMV they do the vision screening that is which sign is closest; I was worried I’d fail because I bombed that test when I had that edema. I should have just tried it first. She said based on the vision screening report they eye doctor filled out I’d have to send in a screening report every year. Do they actually track that? I don’t know. We can renew our licenses by mail every other time here. LOL to Sasha’s tail; great wave picture though. Rudy’s store sounds fabulous; I hope he has many, many years left. Hi Bobby!

@mrs-b I am on the mittens now for my friend. Next project is a vest for me. Ooh your new scarf sounds pretty and how nice to hold it together with a pretty pin. That is great you knit scarfs; I might make everyone in the family one for Christmas to keep me busy. The friend I recently taught to knit (I don’t think she’s practiced more than once tho) was going to try a hat first but I recommended a scarf. Like you said you can make them any size and it’s just straight so it’s a good project. Happy Birthday to Eleanor. You certainly spoiled her for her birthday - very cool. Love the pictures.

@Tekate Ukraine is so scary. I hate to hear about the issues you had with implants. I have heard too many people that get them infected. Do you get Auti sometime this week?

@Austina I am so sorry the missing money issue continues; what a mess. Sending mega dust to get that straightened out on Monday. Rats you don’t like the exterior colors, can you change them? Big hugs to you; what a week you’ve had.

@Calliecake sounds like you liked Gray’s Anatomy; I was thinking of watching that and ER. I haven’t started anything yet so I don’t get sucked in right away. How fun to help a friend’s son get an engagement ring.

@junebug17 I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for the inquiries about my teeth. That temp is talking to me but everything else is fine. I have torture round 2 on Tuesday. I miss my strawberries - I was told nothing crunchy or with seeds for 6 weeks.

We had 4 inches of snow. Marty and I stayed in all day. I made homemade beef noodle soup and cornbread for lunch. We mostly had a lazy day. I started on the mittens for my friend and worked on an article for a website. Marty is moving “stuff” around. He got 2 new monitors for his office downstairs. He gave me his Thunderbolt monitor that I can hook my laptop to when I am working on articles or the newsletter. I hate the chair in our den because it’s for big and tall men - which I’m not but I won’t buy a new chair until I decide I’ll use this setup a lot. Our den has plantation shutters so even if they are closed during the back the backlit shutters reflect in the monitor. I can maybe move the monitor more to the corner of the desk and move the printer. We will see. Marty is planning on taking 4 old monitors to his gym to project people’s workouts above work stations. He is probably going to expand his space at the gym so is trying to figure all that out as well. Busy times.

Take care.
Marcy

Dear NIRDIs!!

I’ve been “lost in my own backyard” for quite a while and it’s been great catching up by reading all the pages between the last time I was here and now.

Austina, my gosh. I hope tomorrow the money issue is cleared up. Building a house is stressful enough without additional things going wrong. Sending good vibes your way this morning.

Kate, I cannot believe Autumn is almost 3. She looks so grown up! It seems as though she was just born, where does the time go?

Callie, hi : ) happy to see your posts here.

Mrs B, My back hurt just reading about yours. I’m sorry you’re having problems. There must be a name for the kind of knitters we are. “The proud minimalists ”?
I can only make scarves and cannot figure out for the life of me how people make things like mittens!

Messi, Oliver is still a pain?! Is he in his teen years? Lol
Your sky photos are incredibly beautiful.

Marcy, it’s great to hear that your hubby is thinking of expanding his space. I’m very proud of him.
Isn’t it great to be retired and be able to sleep in? Sometimes I get up -like this morning- super early, have a snack and go back to bed. Luxe Life.

Sharon, I feel for you making that long trip that was only supposed to take a couple of hours. I’m glad you’re safe and sound and got to see your mom.

My grandbaby is now almost 8 months old. She said grandma for the first time yesterday! I gasped so loudly it scared her and she started crying. Lol
Ki is such a great babysitter. If she fusses he gets silly and makes her laugh.
They are fascinated by each other.

@Austina - I'm so sorry to hear all this - this is a bona fide nightmare.

Thinking of you and hoping this resolves VERY quickly. HUGS!

GM girls! Happy Sunday!

@Jemi she is just so beautiful! She takes after her grandma! And she and Kine are precious together. Big hugs sweet friend. XOXO.

@marcy glad you enjoyed a cozy, lazy day. I don't know what the MV tracks but wonder what your eye doctor filled out. Ooh cornbread. YUmmmm. Glad you only got 4 inches of snow. Not bad for Wyoming lol. Sweet Marty gave you one of his other monitors since he got new ones. And wow he is expanding his gym. Nice. Hugs. Have a great Sunday.

@Tekate Great Kate! Auti is a beauty and growing so fast. Where does the time go. We are doing OK thanks for asking. Always busy busy busy and always a lot to untangle. One day at a time. Not selling Brooklyn. I love it there and despite all that is happening I hope for a more peaceful tomorrow. Speaking of which. What a tragic experience for the Ukrainians. I just will never understand how awful some people are. Evil. Pure evil. My thoughts are he must be stopped. Interesting that people who wrote to nu*e him comments stayed but my comment re as*****tion was removed. LOL just have to laugh. What is important is the this ends without more bloodshed. I have no words for man's inhumanity to man. Biggest hugs to you and your family. Love you kate the very great and thank you for your kind words. I am always here for you too. Always. Lots of love.

@bling_dream19 you are on my mind and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I am here for you anytime. It's going to be OK but in the meantime it is scary and I am sending you so much love and so many healing vibes.

@Austina oh my, what a nightmare. I hope it is resolved soon and I am so sorry for all the aggravation. Gentle hugs.

@mrs-b I am so pleased the birthday was a wonderful success and the love you all share is beautiful. I am continuing good thoughts for your upcoming surgery and sending you lots of love.

@MamaBee hope you had the best time at your grandson's birthday yesterday and glad I could share in a bit of it lol. Big hugs, lots of love.

@canuk-gal thinking of you and your mom and hoping all is OK. Gentle hugs and well wishes across the many miles. XOXO.

Hi to everyone else. We had a great day yesterday as the weather was milder than I realized. It hit 50 degrees F. We had a good hike (I was sweating though lol) and a beautiful day. Rain today and not sure when it will stop...different predictions so we shall see. Enjoy a lovely day and sending love and hugs to my friends here. XOXO.

The light has changed...I love the way the light is so different with different seasons. It's become a warmer glow now.

Sending my friends love and light. XOXO.

Oh and when we got home from our hike yesterday (on Caturday Saturday) look who was waiting to greet us...Fresca. She is looking so healthy and happy. That makes us very happy.

Have a purrrrrfect Sunday lovely ladies!

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I should have made a copy of the form the doctor filled out but I did not. I can ask my eye doctor when I go in if they have a copy of it. It is snowing today and colder. The Thunderbolt monitor is nice; I am messing with the setup in the den now. I think I’ll like it when I am working on articles. Glad you had nice weather yesterday. Hi Fresca!

Sleep was elusive and my mind was going a million miles an hour. A cup of mint cocoa kind of woke me up. I am working on laundry and don’t plan on doing much today but maybe knit and watch TV.

Have a wonderful day.
Marcy

My Mother is gone. That's all I can muster.

My deepest condolences dear Sharon.
I am so sorry.
I am keeping you and your family in my heart and in my thoughts and prayers.
Gentle {{{{{Hugs}}}}}.

GM girls, it's Monday again. And next weekend we turn the clocks ahead. So fast this year.

We had a quiet day yesterday. I did my workout, washed my hair, made applesauce and then we played cards.

Today we are going for a hike. Greg wanted to go cycling but the winds are picking up at 11AM and then some fierce storms are headed our way so I think a hike is a better way to go today. The bike is all ready but I'd rather wait for a calmer weather day.

Later I have my Zoom call with my newest friends and am looking forward to that but I am feeling a bit blue today. Many reasons not the least of which the very sad loss of sweet Sharon's mom. :(
And just a lot of unresolved health issues (with Greg, a dear friend of mine and my own issues). Weighing on my mind. That is all.

@marcy hope you slept better last night. Mint cocoa sounds interesting. I generally don't love chocolate and mint but I would be up for trying that.

@Austina hope the bank issue is straightened out for good today.

@bling_dream19 gentle hugs. Hope you had an easy and safe trip back home.

@Slick1 hope you have a good week and all goes smoothly.

@Jemi much love and big hugs. Wow she is getting so big. Time is truly flying.

@MamaBee you're the best mom and grandma. Big hugs.

@mrs-b hope your week goes well.

@Tekate great Kate have a wonderful week. Be well.

@canuk-gal I am so very sorry. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and sending gentle hugs across the many miles.

Hi to everyone else.

Wishing all of you a good Monday and keeping you in my thoughts. And for everyone who needs it extra hugs from me.

Leaving you with a photo of our friend's son climbing mountains in Scotland. So cool.

Oh @canuk-gal, Sharon, I am so sorry. Know that you and your family are in my heart right now while you are grieving the loss of your mother. Please take care and let the NIRDIs know if there is anything we can do. You have been such a loving and supportive daughter and this is so devastating.

@canuk-gal I am so sorry Sharon. My thoughts are with you. Big hugs to you and your family.

I’m so sorry @canuk-gal, words are simply not enough at a time like this, take care Sharon, we’re all thinking of you at this sad time.

I am so very sorry @canuk-gal, sending lots of love and comfort to you and your family. I will be keeping you in my thoughts during this difficult time and please know we are here for support whenever you need it. <3

@Austina WTF no banks knows where your money is? I'd freak. Also, home building - I would never do it again.. it was so traumatic for me that I can't dwell on it without getting depressed. I'll read more if you've updated otherwise, I'm in empathy with and for you, in a year your home will be your lovely, beautiful happy place, you have to go through this crap to get there :(.. Lunch maybe next week or week after? this week is hellish, drs, granddaughter, glasses ordering blah blah, Kathleen coming saturday! xoxo

@Calliecake Aren't the 'owners' here Eastern European? hmm, it didn't have to happenn you are correct AND at this point I'm for a Nato move, but that's me.. Not surprised that you are helping a friends son Callie, that is YOU, so caring.. nothing new here other than Mike and Cara's 5th!!!!! wedding anniversary the 10th and Kath coming Saturday for a tour of our house.. so happy to read your updates and your care about our world Callile, truly am. xoxo

@marcy I'm sorry about your eye situaton.. not to make little of your eye situation, as I do empathize.. but here's a funny story, when I was hired by IBM back in 1982 IBM required a physical etc to complete the hiring, so I had to go to the company doc on my site in Poughkeepsie NY. So all was good, then I went for the eye exam, so I'm 29 for Christ sake, but anyway the test was different it was 'which one is closer' so I went through the test and kept saying 'can't tell, neither are closer' etc and the woman kept asking 'are you sure' (I thought it was lame and stupid - duh can't she see they are equal, ah youth).. so when I was done she said 'well your distance and close seeing are fine' I said great "bye"! and she said BUT you have no, zero depth perception, I was what is depth perception (obviously i had neither depth perception or any intellilgent depth perception at 29 hah).. so the woman says "Well, it means that say you are driving and you are behind a car or truck you may not be able to judge how far away you are from the vehicle and crash right into it, no depth perception" WELL WTF!!! so I nodded and have spent the last 40 years worried every time I get behind the wheel that I'm going to smash into some tractor trailer.. then she said "oh don't worry, you are in admin so you don't need depth perception, only those people who work on the lines have to have depth perception" hahah GREAT.. thanks.. if they test for that in an eye test, I'm doomed. So whenever I have to take a renewal eye test I freak out a bit. Thank you for asking about Auti Marcy, very nice of you, and YES! Auti tomorrow.. my back says ugh and my mind says "can't wait" :) xoxo take care too, no falling on ice.

@Jemi Hola Jemi! yes 3 years, she is so sweet, and strong willed. thank you for caring, I DO appreciate it. <insert heart> (I know no heart will show but I do mean HEART :) the 'bare minimalists' love it! OH you're granddaughter is beautiful! sweet! and brilliant! Ki is beautiful too! I have noticed since I entered the grannie business that children LOVE animals (altho they can be afraid of bugs! Auti anyone?) but your grandgirl is mesmerizing because I think little ones are just basically full of wonder and love and they know a wonder and love when they see it! (our animals)..

@missy Hello my Missy the Marvelous and Magnificent, I understand the busyness because I think "I'm retired, I have time, blah blah but then I can't find the time!" I just became the president of the homeowners association in this subdivision, so much hate here, truly it's hate, so I hope to be able to tone THAT down a bit but I'm no miracle worker and when you put an ex 'first responder cum ex Army guy' next door to a 'christian mom of 4 whose got God and goodness' on her side it's a clusterF. So much anger and hate there.. I am no miracle worker, I'm just hoping I can bring calmness to this place because truly I've thought about selling and moving somewhere else except I'm 20 mins from my son en famile down the road, but goodness so much infighting here. The two previous presidents quit :) we shall see how I fare. Missy, YOU send light and love all the time, so so lucky to know you to have met you and you know, my life is better our friendship. Also Greg looks as handsome from the back as the front, truly a good guy through and through.. sending dusts of love and health and look forward to hopefully catching up this year and remember, I love the Post Office. xoxxooxoxox

@canuk-gal no words Sharon, but hugs across the universe to you and your mom, I've been on this path, feeling alone in the world.. please know I care very much. all my true love and caring to you and your family Sharon, I am truly sad. xoxoxo

gonna end it here, so sad.

@canuk-gal -

Sharon, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your mother. If there's anything we can do to help, pls let us know. My deepest condolences at this very sad time.

Hugs to you and warm thought to you and your family. <3

@canuk-gal Oh Sharon, I’m so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Please take good care of yourself. I’m keeping you in my thoughts. Hugs, Callie

Dear Sharon. I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Sending you love and prayers.
Much love, dear Sharon.

@canuk-gal my deepest condolences to you dear Sharon. I'm so sorry. Please take care.

Hi NIRDI’s!

Thinking of you and your family Sharon @canuk-gal

@missy sounds like you had a relaxing day yesterday. I just got done lifting too. I did sleep all night - what a treat! I was in bed by 10:30 (early for me) and woke up at 6:35. Woo hoo! I find the mint cocoa to be really soothing; just seems like the right combo. I used to get cherry cocoa but they don’t make it anymore. Now it’s raspberry cocoa and that doesn’t strike my fancy. Those climbing pictures are quite impressive - I’d be a casualty for sure but that is very cool! I hope you enjoy your zoom call today.

@Tekate how nice that your friend is coming to see your house this weekend. That will be fun. That is kind of funny and strange that you didn’t “need” depth perception since you weren’t on the line. Do you notice you don’t have depth perception? I’ve had 2 times in my life when I had none and stepping off a curb scared me a lot. I swear it looked like that step was 20 feet deep. Curse my evil eye! Have fun with cute Auti tomorrow!

We aren’t above freezing but it’s sunny today. I ventured out to get some burgers from Wendy’s for lunch. I just finished lifting and might knit. I am kind of sick of this yarn shedding all over me but I have 1 1/2 mittens left to go. Then I’ll get less messy yarn.

Take care.
Marcy

@canuk-gal I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious mom. My heart breaks for you and your family. XOXOXO……..

@canuk-gal you have been on my mind all day. There are no words. I am so sorry.
I am heading to bed now I am keeping you in my thoughts. We are all here for you. {{{Hugs}}}.

GM girls, hope all is going smoothly.

@canuk-gal thinking of you and your family at this very difficult time. My heart goes out to you.

Sharon, please know we are here for you and if there is anything at all we could do please do not hesitate to ask. Sending you much love and gentle hugs.

We had a busy day yesterday. Hiking and then a marathon Zoom call with my girlfriends. It was good. It was too hot yesterday at 80 degrees F. I was sweating and took two showers. Today it's in the 20s right now. Crazy weather.

@marcy glad you got a good night's sleep the other night. We lose an hour next weekend but as you know that doesn't affect you lol. Because what is a weekend? It does affect me as I have a telemedicine call and a medical appointment that Monday after we skip ahead an hour. But it's OK as I am awake anyway lol. Your description of mint cocoa suds quite delectable. I "lifted" yesterday. I am glad you are enjoying your knitting despite the shedding and wish I could knit. My mom and grandmother used to knit us hats, scarves and yes mittens. And even sweaters. I should have appreciated the effort more. They were really lovely. Have a good Tuesday. XOXO

@Tekate I am the lucky one for knowing you sweet friend. The HOA is lucky to have you as their president and if anyone can bring order and peace to the chaos and craziness you can. Remember one day at a time and you can only do the best you can do. People are filled with hate and jealousy. Sometimes right under your nose it is there but it can take time to see it. I know I experienced that too close to home but with time it all becomes clear and you can eliminate the riff raff if you kwim. But please also remember to take care of YOU and if the aggravation gets to be too much quitting is a real option. There is no shame in that at all. Speaking of the PO I love letters too and I believe I feel the urge to write one to you. As soon as my craziness dies down...which might be a while but I will write one when I have the energy. So much to say and share. As you know I can only touch the surface here for reasons I won't go into but not everyone is a friend. I am always thinking of you Kate and sending you so much love. You are pure in spirit and the best of what humanity can be. I don't have a lot of hope for humanity in general and that is why it is such a privilege and honor knowing you and being able to call you a true friend. Big hugs and much love.,

@Jemi it was so good to be able to "chat" with you and good luck with your decision. If this were me I'd try for sooner but well I understand your reasoning. I would just ask around however as you have nothing to lose. Sending you big hugs and lots of good wishes always. XOXO.

@Austina hoping to hear a happy update about the money mishap today. Hugs.

@bling_dream19 girl, you are on my mind. Continued bucketloads of healing dust and lots and lots of love.

@Slick1 hope you have a good Tuesday and your family is well. Big hugs.

@springerspaniel just a few more weeks now. I am excited for you and hoping the difference between work is night and day. Bug hugs.

@MamaBee I thought of you last night and hope all is going well. Hope you enjoyed a wonderful weekend (I think you did!) Big hugs and lots of love.

@junebug17 hope your family is doing well and your week going smoothly. XO.

Leaving you with a serene photo during our hike yesterday.
It's magical here at times. It brings me peace through the chaos.

Love you girls. Be well. Stay safe. Stay strong.

Hello lovelies

@canuk-gal Sharon, I just wanted you to know that I’m thinking of you and your family at this very sad time.

@Jemi, wow, how cute, your little GD is getting so big, and how sweet of Monsieur Kine to babysit here. Hope everything is well with you all.

Ugh to snow @marcy, I’m with you about falling. I always look where I’m walking, I can’t afford to fall on my knee as I have no cushioning left. You’re really cracking on with the knitting, your friend is going to be really pleased with them.

Sorry you’re (continuing) having so many issues ATM @missy, life is certainly proving to be a huge challenge all round these days. Glad you enjoyed your zoom chat with your new friends. How’s Greg feeling, and your parents, are they OK?

Good luck @Tekate, I’ll never volunteer for anything ever again, I had more than my fill of residents when we lived on a gated community, it was practically a full time job.

Thank you all for the support, we were up at 3.15am yesterday on the phone to the UK. Our client manager wasn’t in, and it took 3 attempts to speak to someone who had a clue. The US bank also said they still had no trace of the money, so we were no further forward yesterday, just more frustrated. We ‘think’ we’re getting somewhere, the bank rang this morning before 5am to say they’ve located the money, and of course, the blame game has started. Colin put in the wrong details, which he didn’t, he used the same details he’d used on the previous 5 occasions, the receiving bank has changed the format for inputting the information, blah, blah, blah. Frankly, we don’t care who’s to blame, just give us back our money. They said they ’hope’ to have it sorted either today or tomorrow, meanwhile, we’re still waiting and worrying until the money hits our account.

We’ve just got back from the house, all the walls are prepped ready for painting, the exterior is all ready for the stucco. ATM I just don’t have the energy to worry about the colours or the stones, we don’t want any delays getting the house finished now, so we’ll just suck it up and change it later.

Thank you all for being such a great bunch :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@canuk-gal thinking of you and your family.

@missy that’s right we go on DST - that used to be a major PITA at work - not my problem anymore. Sweet. You certainly do get up early. Those are Marty’s hours too. I usually get up between 6 and 7 in the morning. I got the first mitten done; it was awful sewing it together because that yarn shed so much - it looks like it is make of 3 different strands of yarn. Things turns out pretty but the yarns isn’t fun to work with. That is pretty neat your mom and grandmother used to make things. I wish I still had my assorted sweaters I knit over the years but hey I can make new ones. Thanks for the lovely view of the ocean.

@Austina I totally get always watching where you walk. Marty gives me crap about it all the time but I always answer I’m careful. I did get the first mitten done today. I was hoping it wouldn’t turn out right since it’s on smaller needles but it looks fine and matches the pattern on the scarf and hat. So I’ll make the other one now. That is awesome you are making progress on the missing money. Of course they are going to claim it’s not their fault. That is nice they are making progress on your house.

My periodontal torture session part 2 took less time than the first. I ate soft food after the numbness wore off and yes I picked up a piece of chocolate cake for Marty and I to split - it’s soft food, right? I stopped at the store to pick up fruit and bread on the way home before the snow storm hits tomorrow.

I have my desk all set up in the den now. Marty took his old and huge Mac to the gym. Bought another 40” TV to display everyone’s workouts on 2 big screens. High tech there. I packed up his speakers and assorted cords so now the desk is uncluttered and has my stuff on it. Yay. Lighting in the den isn’t great for paperwork so I might have to get a desk lamp but we’ll see how much I work on articles and newsletters in here.

Forecast is still expecting 6 - 10 inches of snow starting tonight through Thursday morning. It was 22 when I was out and I thought this is cold but 40 degrees warmer than we had a few weeks ago. I practically needed flip flops. Ha Ha.

Take care.
