Now I really did it :((

GM girls and happy Wednesday!

@canuk-gal keeping you in our thoughts and sending gentle hugs your way.

@marcy thank you for always enjoying my photos. I know the ocean photos and hiking photos are all pretty similar but I love taking them and I am glad you enjoy them. DST is a major PITA IMO even now. But can't fight against it so just go with the flow. But yeah a major PITA. Yay for periodontal work part 2 not being so bad and yes chocolate cake counts as soft food. Yummm. Boo to potentially 10" of snow. And haha flip flops. I hear you. It is schizophrenic weather here too. Hugs.

@Tekate hope you are having a wonderful week. Hugs to you and your sweet crew.

@bling_dream19 I love purple. I hope you can feel my warm hugs and know I am here for you no matter what. ((((Hugs))))

@Slick1 anything new going on? How is work going? Did the lifted mask mandates change the way your students are wearing masks or are some of them still wearing masks? Hope all is going well. Hugs to you and your sweet baby Bear. We need some Bear photos please when you are in the mood and have a moment. Hugs.

@Austina aww thanks for asking. My parents are doing well knock wood. My mom needs cataract surgery but I feel bad since I have been out of the eye field for many years now I don't know who she should see for the operation. The eye surgeon I love is very old and I don't think he is the one to see any longer. But hopefully we will find a skilled surgeon. I am sorry your bank issues are dragging on but it is a relief they admitted yes they located the money. What a freaking mess and I know Colin did everything right. Incompetence on their parts and unfortunately I feel this is more the norm than the exception these days. It's a shame. And I hope today finally brings you a happy update regarding your money. Big hugs.

@Jemi please hug your sweet granddaughter for me and Kine too. Preciousness to the max. And I think she looks like you! XOXO.

@springerspaniel hope the week is going smoothly. XOXO.

@mrs-b each day is one day closer to relief for you. Keeping you in my thoughts. Hugs.

@rainwood we had a good week weather wise up to today despite the crazy drop in temperature but now the good weather has ended. Sigh. I don't think I could pick a worse place weather wise. LOL JK. I think our weather is good about 50% of the time. So now I have to find a place where the weather is good 70 plus percent of the time to make it worth my while. SB is calling my name...now to convince Greg. Big hugs.

We had a good hike yesterday despite the heavy winds. We picked a secluded protected trail and it was a good day. Today is rain (no snow please) and so errands we shall run. I need one bad weather day a week to feel OK running errands and not enjoying outdoor activities. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday sweet friends. Be well and enjoy. XOXO.

And as usual we ended up at the beach. With the seagulls. Just us and them. Heaven on earth.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy it looks cold on your hike but gorgeous scenery as always. Yes weather lately has many personalities - the many faces of Mother Nature and yes it makes me paranoid. Ha Ha. I do always love looking at pictures and yours are great. I am totally in agreement with you on DST. Who's bright idea was it that it makes sense to shift time by an hour every six months - they are probably still laughing and saying "suckers!" We had 7 inches of snow so far. I rolled out the trash can bright and early (because Marty can't see 2 large orange sticky notes that say trash at 4:30 in the morning) and there was about 5 inches of snow then. Glad to hear your parents are doing well and hate to hear your mom needs cataract surgery.

Well it's been an up and down day for me. I applied for a part time position editing night sky articles for earthsky.org and did a test article for them on Monday. I didn't hear anything and today got an email saying they didn't have enough work for me to give me 10 hours a week but wondered if I'd do semi-regular editing when available. I said sure and got an email right away welcoming me aboard and asked to help them edit their monthly article about the planets and night sky sights for each month. Cool. I must be a contractor not any employee because I send them invoices for my time but hey it will be fun and give me something to do. I don't know how much time I'll put in on it but I am sure it will be fun and it is certainly right up my alley.

I got my fuzzy knit project done. My friend's birthday is April 1st so I got it done in plenty of time. I think I'll make a throw next to use as my white elephant gift for the family Christmas. It is supposed to only cost $20 but no one will know how much yarn costs anymore since I think I'm the only knitter or crocheter in the family.

My teeth are only achy and noticeable when I brush so that's good. I can eat strawberries again in a week. Yay.

Take care.
Marcy

Here is my friend's present.

Oh @marcy! I love it! Your friend is so lucky. I'm sorry your teeth are still aching, but am pleased that strawberry enjoyment is coming soon! And great news re your part time contracting. Sounds like a perfect fit.

@canuk-gal - I'm thinking of you and sending warm thoughts for your aching heart. <3

@bling_dream19 - you're in my thoughts and my prayers. Remember - wine - hot tub - sleep.

@springerspaniel - how are things going, my friend? 3 more weeks? Thinking of you every day.

@missy - you continue to be my role model re exercise! I did pelvic stabilization exercises today and time on my resistance walker - not a lot of either - about half an hour in total. My back is so achy at this point, even when I'm able to do exercise, I have to be incredibly careful and not over-do it. Overdoing it leads to an inflamed sciatic nerve, and that causes all the muscles down the right side of my body - from neck to foot - to spasm and do the full Charlie horse. Hideous.

@Jemi - @junebug17, @Calliecake, @Tekate and @Austina - love to you all.

To give you all an idea - here's an X-ray of a back with spinel fusion. You can see why I'm desperate to avoid it. You can see the screws - but notice also - the more solid pieces in between the vertebrae are metal cages to hold the vertebrae apart. They're then all screwed into place with bolts - 2.5-3" in length - that are drilled straight INTO the vertebrae. I. Can't. Even. Imagine. The. Pain. And I have no idea how the inflammation from that would effect my Crohn's....

Screen Shot 2022-03-09 at 7.25.40 PM.png

In other health news - my darling Tim has been diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. He has lumps, granulomata, calcified cysts and swollen lymph nodes throughout his lungs, thyroid, upper abdomen, eyes - and needs to have more CT scans to see where else these things have migrated to. Your prayers would be appreciated; this degree of diffusion is not encouraging. His eyes are holding steady, but not great.

Hugs to you all. oxo

ETA @Austina - any news on your money?? ThInking of you.

Hi !! @missy hon, i love letters too but please know I'm available to mail anything and receive anything :) I'm here to help, sounds like a busy day sweetie! Hiking, marathon zoom call, I had one of those almost 2 weeks ago with my 3 closest friends from high school, it was a gab fest for sure, it's always wonderful to talk with these girls, known one since kindergarten, the other two since I was 13, love them.. in April all 4 of us will be grandmoms! my dearest friend has 4 grands with the oldest 15 down to a almost 5 year old girl, I'm up next with one almost 3, then there's one with a 3 month old grand daughter and friend from kindergarten - her daughter is due 4/12 (Autumn's bday!) with a girl, our adult kids go from 44 down to 30 (me with the youngest kid - Christopher), any one of them would do whatever to help me and me for them, we live in CA, TX, ME, and CT... we all went to HS in CT. I am lucky! I keep thinking of Sharon, I so know of her sadness, it never leaves you, but you live.. went to the optometrist today, finally had my eyes checked after my last check up 3 yrs ago! great guy, liked him a lot, I have druzen in one eye and a dark spot in the other, so I should eat spinach a lot, and he's got me to come back in 6 months to ensure the dark spot isn't melanoma of the eye (or cancer of some kind I guess), he doesn't think it is but it's best to keep an 'eye' ha! on it.. my prescription really changed, got 2 pairs 1) regular pair and 2) sunglasses I am SO looking forward to seeing better. LOVE YOU. Hi to Gorgeous Greg, and the babies. xoxo and Missy, I'm glad your mom and dad are good.. such a wonderful thing. :)

@Austina jeeze what a ringer girl.. you have been through the ringer (I remember ringers washers, my grandfather had one, my mother being the crazy woman she was told me to not even stand NEAR IT CATHERINE! for fear my scalp would be torn off by the ringer.. there's an Irish woman for you, total insanity, BUT I never stood near the ringer either.. so back to the show you've had to endure, I'd be bonkers totally bonkers about my money, so much theft today in wiring, we decided to go to Houston and look at stones sometime after the stock market recovers :) (hah) because I hate hitting principal if I don't have to. Our builder was a craphead and we - at the end - were left with an outdoor kitchen area still not finished and we no longer even bother with the builder, we have a handyman contracted to start in April to finish the damn thing. I'm going to have to repaint some of the bathroom doors, such a poor job the painters did, we never got he mantel for the fireplace so we have some guy coming next week to measure for one - seriously we paid for this stuff, I just give up.. one of our pool lines froze and we had one quote of 800.00$ to fix, no way we wil pay that for a foot long piece of pipe, the neighbor said he could fix it so we are going to hit him up with a free meal :)! eye doctor today, Friday the hip surgeon, Auti was here yesterday, I took her to the local candy storm, she told me that I was to buy her a Minnie Mouse bike for her birthday in April, Mike told me that she has told 4 people that! she is something else.. I hold you in my heart lady, I'll let you know times etc for lunch, your and my county are opening up so we should have some choices! gas prices are really rising here in TX and we are often cheaper than anywhere else in the US as we are an oil state... love and hugs to you and the family! xoxo

@marcy it's been cold here, woke up today at 34 degrees! but hit up to 60F by 1:00 pm. knitting is such a cool thing, it's very inner if you know what I mean.. it is satisfying to the soul.. chocolate cake? I'll be there when the snow melts.. hope all is clear now and spring is coming! xoxo wow wonderful about the editing Marcy! and your knitting is B E A U T I F U L! you are very talented.. I admire you.

@rainwood hey how are you? xo

@springerspaniel how many days left? hope you are well! xoxo

@bling_dream19 hey girlie! xoxo

@Slick1 sending hellos and how's to you? how's work? fam? jaw? I swear Slick that I get jaw pain and it's phantom.. everytime I feel it I think OH NO, it's back but it never is, I think it's PTSDofthejaw. xoxoxo

@mrs-b sending love and good backs to you MrsB hi to the Mr and hope you are feeling well! sending you love :) xoxoxo

nothing new other than I'm hanging with the hubster right now listening to the "Austin Sound" music channel, the Austin sound is uh? I dunno, it's something from rap to classical.. who knows :) sending love to you all. Kate

@mrs-b Oh my gosh, I just posted and you popped in, I am sorry about Tim's sarcidosis, I will look it up to see what they do for it, and your pix of a back back are WOW.. the human body is something.. I am so sorry your back hurts, after having hips and shoulders replaced I so understand the pain.. Love and hugs to you.

GM girls and happy Thursday!

Greg has a call with my doctor today about one of his health issues that is concerning. It's not common in men and I am doing all I can to learn as much as I can but the info is limited. I am not sure my doctor today can help but I pray he can. One thing after another and I know you all get it. All too well.

@Tekate I am glad you enjoyed a zoom call with your girlfriends. It can really brighten up one's day. Wow Auti's birthday is very soon. Are you planning a special celebration that day? The optometrist visit sounded helpful and I am glad they are keeping an "eye" on that spot. Did he/she feel confident it was OK to wait to monitor for 6 months? What did they say it could be? If you are not confident I would go back in 3 months or better yet my advice is to see a retinal specialist to make sure now it is something that can be monitored in 6 months. I am a nervous nellie when it comes to these things and I trust no doctor anymore. Trust yourself only and always better safe than sorry. Please get a second opinion with a retinal specialist Kate. Please. OK off my soapbox now and thank you for your generous and kind offer. I do not need anything right now but your offer is more than appreciated. And same here. Anytime for any reason. You are a true blue friend Kate and that means the world to me. I know we can count on each other for anything through anything. Biggest hugs and much love to you and all your loved ones.

@marcy woohoo congratulations on your new part time job! That is perfect. You can work and earn some money but have your free time too. A great situation and I hope you love it. So now you are semi retired which is a sweet gig. I love that hat and those mittens you knitted. So pretty! That is a lucky friend. And a great thoughtful gift. I hope you didn't get more than 7". We just got rain yesterday and today looks pretty decent weather wise. Almost 50F and I hope we have time to hike after Greg's telemedicine call. He has a busy morning. Dermatologist at 8AM for body check to rule out any new melanomas and then 11AM telemedicine call with my doctor for Greg. Looking forward to May at this point because March and April are filled with doctor visits for us both. LOL the fun never ends. Speaking of which...

@mrs-b I am so sorry to hear about Tim's sarcoidosis and pray his treatment helps him find full relief. I am keeping him and you in my thoughts and prayers every day. And continuing to send healing vibes and lots of love your way. As for the spinal fusion I hear you and hope if you need it that it goes without incident. I have lots of metal in my left leg. Plates, countless screws and bolts. But if it can give you relief it is definitely worth considering. What does your surgeon think? When is your surgery? Good for you exercising but of course don't overdo and go slowly. One day at a time. Big hugs and continued prayers.

I am going to share X-rays of my leg so you can see I am full of metal. LOL I call it my bionic leg. And Greg always says the scars show I lead an interesting life.

pilonfractureaccident.png

@bling_dream19 girlfriend you remain in my thoughts and Greg's too. We are sending so many healing vibes your way. And lots of love. Good luck on your appointment and please let me know how it goes. XOXO.

@Slick1 hope you are having a good end of winter....spring is almost here. Woohoo.

@Austina waiting to hear your happy update as soon as possible. Lots of good thoughts being sent your way.

@MamaBee hope you are enjoying a good week.

Dear @canuk-gal I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts at this very difficult time. Sending you love and gentle hugs. Know you are missed here and if there is anything I can do please do not hesitate to ask. There are no words but to say we are here for you in any way we can be. {{{Hugs}}}

We had a good day yesterday despite all the rain and we accomplished all our necessary errands.
Looking forward to this afternoon when the appointments today are over.

I have a new issue...painful bump on my right middle finger joint. I first noticed it yesterday. And wow it came on like a blockbuster. Is that the right word lol. Last time I had something similar I had to have hand surgery. That is no bueno because any hand surgery or trauma can exacerbate Duputyren's. Sigh. And that hand surgery went awry because my stitches didn't heal and I had a horrible (for the record books they wrote me up so you know it wasn't good) reaction to the adhesive the surgeon used to try sealing the opening where the stitches didn't work. Long story it took many many months to heal. And my finger is still bent at that joint.

So you can see why I am trepidatious about having another hand surgery. And why are my fingers producing these inflammatory bumps...maybe finally RA which I always thought I would get since my mom has it. Anyway I called my new hand surgeon with what is happening and they put me in next Tuesday. As luck would have it next Tuesday is the only day next week we were free. Yay, I think. Oy so next 6 weeks too many appointments to think about. One day at a time. I keep repeating to myself. One day at a time. Thanks for reading my long winded post and know I am sending love and light and all good things to my friends here. ((((((HUGS)))))))).

Leaving you with a grainy photo from last night of the trio Pepsi, Fresca and Dr Pepper. They crack me up. They travel together and are the cutest. :kiss2:

Enjoy a terrific Thursday lovely ladies. XOXO.

Hello lovelies

Just popping in to say we’re sick to our stomachs of this whole issue, it still hasn’t been resolved and it looks like we’re heading in to another weekend without any good outcome.

None of the banks are talking to each other, with the problems be exacerbated by the 6 hour time difference, which doesn’t help us one iota. They don’t seem to realise, or care how much stress this is causing us, and I’m getting seriously worried about the strain it’s putting on Colin.

I’m sorry for the me, me, me post, I’m just so anxious and stressed.

Keeping you all in my thoughts, :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out.

Personally a devastating time :cry2:, but I am able to acknowledge and be grateful for the goodness and kindness of my friends here. Reading remembrances to me and my beautiful Mother is a consolation. Thank you.

Sharon

Big big hugs to you @canuk-gal.
My heart goes out to you.
In time may her warm memory bring you peace. She will always be with you in your heart.
Continuing to keep you in my thoughts and sending you love and good wishes.

"
You gave me life
To live as I please,
You gave me love and
Support to follow my dreams.
Your beauty lives
Forever deep in my soul,
The memory of your love
Fills my heart
And I am never alone

GM girls and happy FriYAY!

@bling_dream19 best news ever and so relieved and happy and fingers crossed you get more good news next week. Fingers and toes and everything crossed. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.

@springerspaniel hope the weeks are flying by and before you know it the past few months are a very distant memory and your new work life is in sharp contrast to your old one.

@Austina keeping good thoughts this stressful situation will be resolved soon. I am so sorry for all you are enduring at the moment.

@marcy hope your new semi retired life brings you joy and also allows you to sleep in haha.

@Slick1 the weekend is upon us. Enjoy. We are getting snow tomorrow. Unreal. Greg says it won't stick. LOL it is in the 50s today. Snow tomorrow. Hello NE. Sure we aren't in Wyoming @marcy

Hi to everyone else. We had a good hike yesterday. Gorgeous weather. Another one planned today before the weekend storms. Stay safe and be well. XOXO.

And of course we saw a most beautiful doe. Swoon! And she wasn't afraid of us either.
In fact she was coming towards us. I really thought she wanted a hug and I was ready and willing but then she stopped. Aww

@MamaBee can you spot the doe?

Have a peaceful and safe weekend :wavey:

Nirdi shoutout! Thank you for all of the love and shoutouts. I hope everyone is well and happy. @Austina I really hope your money gets to you soon. That must be extremely stressful.
@missy I love your pics! Thank you for everything. I'm always thinking of you and Greg.
@mrs-b thank you for the support and your calm words. I hope you're enjoying sunshine and happiness! Thinking about your dear hubby too.
@canuk-gal comfort to you in your time of grieving.
@Tekate hey girl! Hilarious your sweetiepie asked 4 people for the same present, I think she'll get it lol!
I've got 2 rings at DK, my 3 stone AVC that will now go into bezels and antique gold and a pink pear and yellow diamond ring. I need help with both lol! If anyone feels up to it, I'd love any help or feedback.
Love and hugs to all for a nice relaxing weekend!

@missy Yup, 3 yrs with Auti, she is quite the fiction teller, her mom texted me this morning and said that Auti tolder her she was once a dummer in a band! This past Tuesday we were looking at a picture book, Auti and I and there was a rainbow, and she said "look granny! just like Hawaii' I thought that was pretty amazing since we were in Hawaii last October (it was a double rainbow as you can see with my pix).. she is an amazing child (of course I AM the granny).

Yes, re: my optometrist, he recommended I come back in 6 months, I'm hoping it's nothing, I did have some druzen though. Macular degeneration here I come! hope not.

Well I started the above LAST nite.. stuff like dinner and doctors had my mind.

Missy, I thank you for your kind words and believe me, I'm available just call me P.O. Kate! <3

Missy! oh gosh, your xrays are something that bad dreams are made of (being an owner of 3 replacements I can say this!).. today I went to my new and improved orthopedic doc, my left hip has always hurt and hurts hella more as time has gone on (after the replacement in 12).. so he thinks I have itis, need to stretch muscles, another shot of steroid, and then if it's not all gone then I will have to have a rearrangement of part of my left hip fake stuff, we shall see.. working with the local group here that is against roads I of course, are working with them because they want to put an eventual 7 lane super highway a mile up the road from my rural, pastoral home, and they want to fill it with 2600 sq ft homes on 1/8 acre lots the whole shebang, had I know THIS I would not have built here, my mistake for not checking. Time will tell. love you girl! xoxoxo

@springerspaniel hopefully the time will NOT drag, I remember when I retired the last few weeks sucked and felt like I was losing my mind, I detested my manager, ugh don't miss a second of him. xoxo

@marcy how's your shoulder? how's the weather, how's you! and the Mr. :) today in Austin it was 32F this a.m. and tonight down to 29F, hellish cold, not used to it here in Central TX, we're supposed to be in the 80s now.

@MamaBee Hope your life is settling down J mine's not :) I will have Auti next week probably 4 full days, the local schools go on spring break and my DIL works 3 days a week and I always take one of of her days off and my son of course works 5 days a week so Grannie to the rescue, GrampyGrumps will of course, of course help (hahahaha you get it).. sending a big Kate hug to you and your family J, missed ya! xoxoxo

@junebug17 hey there, hope all is well, due for rain right? xoxoxo

@bling_dream19 hey you! you will be getting the rain too? no diamonds from Russia, prices will skyrocket here - maybe? not sure.. hope you are well, happy and enjoying life. xoxoxo

@mrs-b hello dear lady!!! how's your back? I went to my new orthopedic surgeon and hopefully he will help me get rid of the pain in my hip that has been replaced. How is your sweet husband doing? never rains but it pours my mom always said, you are in my heart MrsB.. you are just danged swell and fun and a good human. :) xoxoxo

@rainwood hola hola! hope you are good. xoxo

@Slick1 hey! you will be getting the rain too? didn't check your way since I was actually checking my weather and there was a map of the GREAT Northeast and said get ready for rain..(and snow but I don't think it's coming that close to you guys). hugs and love to you.. xoxoxo

so it took me 2 days to get this thing posted.. been busy with my dingbat cousin whom is teetering on bipolar, malignant narcissism and an all around poophead, his 2nd wife is in the midst of divorcing him and he's a liar and a nutcase.. only in my family :(

my son's are good as far as I know, John is great.. we are going to a 65th Bday party tomorrow for a longtime friend, great guy.

I miss Salley, I miss Salley, I just still feel numb.. best dog ever.. so lucky I got to be her mom for 6 years, wish it were forever.

loves you all!

kate

No, you are a gift Austina, lucky all of us who've been able to meet you in real life (you're more beautful than any pix).. you are wise, you are strong and you are very kind, you're a great mom for your kid and furkids and you have a true great husband and son and DIL.. I'm lucky to know you..

Freezing today or what?!!!
xoxoxo Kate

@canuk-gal, Thinking of you Sharon. Wishing there were comforting words that could make this easier and take your pain away. Unfortunately there are no words so I’m sending a hug.

Hello lovelies

Good news, good news and more good news.

We went up to the house, the first coat of paint is on, and the garage is full of stuff. All the doors, door frames, skirting boards, fittings for the walk ins, all ready to go in, (hopefully next week).

We had a phone call from our bank saying they’d passed all the information on to their management team, who were now on the case. Why they didn’t do this 2 weeks ago, who knows, but they obviously knew what they were doing, because at close of business today, the money was finally in our account. Hallelujah!!!!!! All this stress, and it’s all down to their incompetence. The money has been sitting in NY, because they put the wrong details in for the transfer to our account. They’re now going to launch an investigation in to how it happened.

@marcy, congratulations on your new job, doing something you really enjoy and getting paid for it, what could be better. Your friend is going to be delighted with her hat and mittens, they’re lovely.

I’m sending lots of positive vibes to you and Tim @mrs-b, just what you need - NOT! Oy, why is this happening on top of everything else? Hoping your still doing OK and can last out till your surgery.

@Tekate, you’re going to be a busy bunny next week, good job Auti is so cute, and obviously smart as a whip! I’m sorry to hear your hip is still causing you problems after all this time, is there anything that can be done to help? Have fun at the party tomorrow.

You’re going to have to grow some more fingers for all your new sparklies @bling_dream19, they’re going to be gorgeous, can’t wait to see them

We had a big drink (or two) this evening, and hopefully will finally get a full night’s sleep tonight.

Thank you lovely NIRDIs for the support and love, it’s really appreciated.

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. Love & hugs to you all :wavey:

@mrs-b , Sending lots of health dust to you and your DH. The past two months have been a hell of a year for you.

@bling_dream19 , Thinking of you and hope you are doing well. I’m excited to see what you decide to do with your latest projects. Every piece you had made has turned out beautiful. Work your magic girl!!!

@junebug17, How are you? I thought of you today. My husband was watching a golf tournament that got rained out today. He then went out and bought some clothes to wear when it’s raining to golf in. He seemed shocked that going to the PGA Superstore didn’t seem like a whole lot of fun to me.

@Austina, It’s great news to hear the bank issue is finally resolved. Sleep well tonight. For the record all of us would have been stressed to the max with this money ordeal.

@Tekate, Rest up this weekend. Next week is going to be a whole lot of fun! I love reading about your Auti adventures. She sounds like a hoot. The things they say are hysterical. I’m sorry about all the house stuff you have had to endure. Reading what you wrote really made me think my husband and I lucked out when having our home built.

@marcy, Your friend is going to love her gift. I can‘t believe how quickly you finished it. My mom asked her neighbor to please teach her how to knit. I asked her a week later how her project was going. She said she gave up and knitting wasn’t as easy as it looks. She thought it would be something relaxing to do. It didn’t seem to work out that way. How exciting Marty might be moving to a larger space. I hope you enjoy your part time work.

@springerspaniel , I hope your week went by quickly and work went smoothly.

I’m hoping to spend some time with the little ones this weekend.

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

@Tekate I hear you. Missing Salley. I miss Francesca and Fred every single day. And until someone loses their beloved furry baby they might not get it. My heart goes out to you.
Wow, Auti is getting to be a young little lady. What a sweetheart in every way. And she is super smart. I can tell just from reading what you wrote. She is going to be quite a beautiful person inside and out like her grandma. I am glad to hear your sons are well. Also glad to hear you are hopefully going to get relief re your hip. Hopefully soon. Ugh about the 7 lane super highway and I hope it doesn't come to fruition. Big hugs and much love to you Great Kate!

Woohoo @Austina so happy for you! Fingers crossed it goes smoothly from here on in!

@canuk-gal I am continuing to keep you in my heart and sending continued warm hugs and good wishes your and your family's way. {{{{{Hugs}}}}}.

@marcy haha love your sense of humor. You crack me up in the best possible way. Have a wonderful weekend. Good point that Kate brings up...how is your shoulder? How are you doing in general health wise. I hope all is good and that your knees and shoulders are not talking to you much. LOL. Big hugs/

@mrs-b hope all is going smoothly. Are you scheduled for surgery? I am sorry I cannot remember if it is still going forward. Whatever happens I wish you much needed relief from pain and also keeping your sweet hubby in my thoughts too. XOXO.

@springerspaniel looking forward to a happy update and hugs to your furry babies. So many hugs.

@Jemi have a wonderful weekend sweet friend. XOXO.

@bling_dream19 bucketloads of continued healing vibes being sent your way. Hugs.

@Slick1 happy Caturday Saturday. Storms are coming for us. Hope your weather is calmer.

@MamaBee hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend.

Have a good weekend @junebug17.

Hi @Karl_K I hope you and the missus are doing very well and that you enjoy a happy weekend.

We had a good hike yesterday. Mild weather. Today is another story. Stormy all day with snow anticipated. We shall see. It's always the winds that worry me. I also got an upsetting call while we were hiking. My HRT provider quit the practice and the admin are scrambling to find more providers. I loved her because she did exactly as I asked. Not many are that open minded. And a newbie will be skittish about prescribing off label and thinking outside of the box. So yet another concern on my plate. But I will deal with it as best I can and find a solution hopefully. What is life without challenges right? Luckily I have learned a lot along the challenging journey that is life so hopefully I will fall on my feet. We shall see. Fingers and toes crossed.

Have a wonderful Caturday Saturday to my sweet friends here. Leaving you with what else? A sweet photo of Gracie to commemorate this Caturday Saturday. XOXO.

@rainwood I promise next time with all her purrs and meows. Sound effects galore.

Be well friends and enjoy.

@canuk-gal My heart just hurts for you and your family. You’ve been on my mind…I hope all the love from us is reaching you…XO
Good morning girls..I finally caught up reading what everyone is up to. It’s been crazy with my husband home. I have no time. I pop up on PS and try to answer or comment on quick questions. I’m going to have to chisel out me time so I can keep connected to you all. I feel out of the loop.
We are in Maryland….again..We just got home last Monday and we’re back. My DIL is alone with the boys because my son was on a business trip. He’s now quarantining in a hotel. Jackson got his first vaccine last night because he just turned five. Just in case of a reaction she wanted us to come to be with them. It’s raining and turning into sleet and snow soon. We’ll have to drive the DC area through it which doesn’t make me comfortable. S almost killed us a ton of times including yesterday when we were just leaving our subdivision. I started yelling that I’m now going to start driving David in my own car if he doesn’t start paying attention. On the way home last Monday he tried to beat the light and make a left. If I didn’t scream for him to stop we would have been T-boned by a Mack truck. This is no exaggeration. I’m truly frightened to get in the car with him. I stare at the road like I’m driving. i won’t even look at my phone so I can warn him of dangers..
I will catch up on Monday when we..hopefully…make it back to Maryland from Virginia in one piece.
XOXOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!

I ran into my neighbor and told her about my Mom--for some reason I looked at my watch and it was exactly a week, to the minute when she passed. Freaked me out a little...don't know why I looked at the time..... I was boarding the plane last week when I got the text she was gone..I didn't make it. So close, yet so far.....

Anyway, I had a nice chat with one of my sisters today, we both made each other feel better. Thing is, we all want our Mom but no one wanted the fact that she was suffering. Witnessing suffering is the WORST. Despite our advocacy and efforts. Terrible, terrible business. I am glad she is no longer in a state of suffering. I am rather down on our medical care.

Anyway, I won't be a negative Nellie forever, but thank you for listening.

I did go out and about today, got my favorite long stemmed white roses and checked out a my local consignment shop. Light hearted stuff that I needed.

Take care folks!!!!!

Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s

@mrs-b thank you - my teeth are pretty good today. Just achy when I brush; I am sticking to soft food and looking forward to strawberries next week. Those X-rays make me hurt; I sure hope you can avoid that surgery but definitely want you to be pain free. I hate to hear about Tim and hope they can find him relief.

@Tetake I do find knitting something that relaxes me. I take it you knit too? Cool. I ate your chocolate cake but will gladly buy more when you show up. Our snow will be gone (most likely) but June 5 but I won’t bet money on it. Nice your city has it’s own music channel. Oh no to having an eye problem crop up; hope they get that fixed for you. Marty’s shoulder is doing pretty good, thank you for asking. Holy cow it’s cold there! I swear I didn’t send it your way. We are in the 40’s and sunny but have hurricane force winds. Who know being in the middle of the country I’d deal with more hurricane force winds than living on the coast. Sorry about dealing with your cousin; sounds like Marty’s oldest sister. I think every family has at least one of them. Good luck!

@missy I hate to hear Greg has a concerning health issue. I swear it’s like both of you lived next to some toxic waste sight for years. Big hugs to both you and best wishes for eliminating all those issues. We did end up with 7.5 inches of snow. I saw a bomb cyclone is coming your way. That is what gave us that 36” of snow last year at this time. Stay safe! I totally remember your X-rays but ouch that looks so painful. Yes you are the bionic woman. I am doing okay, thank you for asking. I am still slowly losing inches more than pounds but that’s good and my BP is doing great. Progress there! Marty’s shoulder is coming along well with only a few things being difficult or painful for him. Well rats your HRT provider quit; good luck with that!

@Austina I am glad to hear they finally gave you back your money!!! What a relief! Yay for paint on the house. More progress.

@canuk-gal you have been in my thoughts. I am glad reading remembrances of your beautiful mom is giving you some comfort. Big hugs.

@bling_dream19 I am anxious to see your new rings. Sweet.

@Calliecake hoping you are doing well. I just recently taught my friend to knit and I don’t think she found it relaxing at all either. I learned as a young kid and enjoy it. I can crochet but I have to watch and count very single stitch. Have you been getting lots of snow?

@MamaBee sounds like having your DH home keeps you busy. My dad worked 2 jobs so was rarely home and when he retired from both at once my mom started volunteer work for some peace and quiet. I am so sorry about his driving; that is scary he almost gets in accidents. Good luck with that!
I spent most of yesterday working on an article for the new job. I am a bit stressed and frustrated but mostly because I am a perfectionist and hate to feel like I don’t know what I am doing. I am fine with astronomy knowledge and working on websites but of course I need to learn their specific ways and criteria. A lady walked me through a lot of what to do then had to leave and said we’d do the x, y, z stuff later. She left me a few things to do which I did and sent her a text saying I’m done. Well she figured I did the x, y, z stuff too which I didn’t so when she reviewed it she emailed me what she did and fixed so I at least pointed out I thought you said we’d do those later in the afternoon. After all that she sent me their style guide so now I have a reference. Next article they give me I am totally going to ask can I try this on my own? I know it will go smoother soon but I’m not known for patience.

I picked up some denim blue yarn today to start an afghan. Yay a big knitting project. Marty slept in for a change so we went to breakfast when he got up then he kindly took me to Hobby Lobby.

He snagged his keyboard from the gym computer so I could try a new setup at my desk. I plugged in the monitor to my laptop and so I am using the laptop as my computer and just using a keyboard. It works great. It will be handy to work on articles both for myself, the astronomy club and my new part time job. Yay!

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy Sunday! Happy Daylight Savings Time.

@canuk-gal I agree 100%. Seeing our loved ones suffer is the worst thing in the world. The pain of losing them is overwhelming but knowing they are finally out of pain is everything. There is no good option only the more palatable one. And I know when the time comes I want to be given peace rather than suffering. No question. I am so glad you have your sisters and they have you and that brings you comfort. I am glad you got to go out and enjoy some fresh air and beautiful flowers. Continued love and hugs being sent your way and bucketloads of good wishes. {{{Hugs}}}.

@marcy that is a sweet setup. And yay for the happy update health wise. Glad you are doing well and may that continue. LOL I hear you. But as Greg says this is life and what happens so we take it one day at a time doing the best we can. That is all any of us can do. Glad Marty's shoulder is getting stronger. Yes I am disappointed she either quit or was fired. She was definitely overworked and I cannot blame her but she is going to be difficult to replace. Let us know how your new part time job is going. Enjoy a beautiful Sunday.

@MamaBee do what you feel is best and take the safest path. I am sorry S is not a safe driver and that would cause me anxiety too. Please take care of yourself and David and maybe send S to driving school lol. Not funny but you kwim. I know I am not the best driver because I am not experienced as I rarely drive. And maybe, like S, I have trouble paying attention and focusing so that makes it dangerous indeed. So when I am driving I try to be super focused and aware of my surrounding and have to constantly remind myself to pay attention. So far that works well but it is hard work maintaining that constant vigilance when driving. Which is why I generally prefer Greg to do the driving. Enjoy Maryland and have a good weekend. Safe trip back on Monday.

@bling_dream19 I hope you are enjoying the weekend and it is peaceful and relaxing. The food from that restaurant looked delicious and if we are ever in the area we need to go there with you.
Big hugs and bucketloads of healing vibes.

@Slick1 hope you are enjoying a good weekend. I don't get turning the clocks back and ahead. It's crazy. Just let's leave it at DST please. OMG we just turned them back a few months ago and here we are skipping ahead again. Anyway off my soapbox and sending you lots of happy wishes fora good weekend and upcoming week.

@Austina hope you are enjoying a happy and peaceful weekend now that this aggravating bank ordeal is behind you. And all is going smoothly.

@Tekate Great Kate hope all is going well and you are having a wonderful weekend.

@springerspaniel good morning and hope you have a lovely Sunday.

We had a good day yesterday despite the stormy weather. Windy, rain and then snow. Some of it did stick surprisingly. I got a lot accomplished and we got to play cards too. Today is frigidly cold but we are going for a hike. The upcoming week is a mixed bag but a very busy week. Cats go to the vet in LI (my sister) so that is a huge trip. I have a few doctor appointments and a few lab appointments and honestly I am looking forward to the next 6 weeks being done. LOL I hate rushing the time away but just being honest and the next 6 weeks are going to be a bit stressful. Hoping for the best and one day at a time.

Leaving you with Tommy.

And Pepsi and Fresca. Who are looking at us as if to say what are you doing on my property?

Happy DST Sunday, be well! XOXO.

Hi everyone. Just checking in.
I had a fairly stress-free journey to France.
The best thing was sitting talking with two women …about anything and everything…in the Boston airport for a couple of hours waiting for second leg of the trip. It was as though we had known each other forever and we exchanged email addresses so we could keep in touch. I had to tell them about the NIRDIs and how amazing you all are. Because being with them seemed a little bit like us-connection, care and goodwill.

Ki got out of his crate AGAIN on the last flight. This time I got scolded by a member of the flight crew. Lol. My dummy seatmate said she watched him unzip the carrier from the inside and escape. She didn’t even try to stop him.
At least I know now what a great escape artist he is so I’ll have to be extra careful.
I got him a new dog tote that looks like just a nice leather purse when he’s zipped all the way in and hidden
so I’m hoping I’ll be able to go in some museums with him while I’m here.

Take care, and a good Sunday to you all.

Hey everybody! 5 more days of hell, then I can start to heal. I will miss my patients and my team so much. I am tired.

I love your home office set-up @marcy. Very sweet! I think it is so cool that you will continue to write night sky articles!

@missy, I do hope Greg is able to find the right medical care he needs. I also hope the next 6 weeks feel like they go by with a minimum of difficulty. Your pictures, as always, are the best and lift my spirits every day!

@mrs-b I sent you an email. Thinking of you and Tim.

@Tekate, I miss my little Ellie, so can understand some about your missing Salley. I believe the diagnosis of "poophead" will be in the DSM-V revision, by the way.

@canuk-gal I am glad you had a good conversation with your sister. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Hi to all the other NIRDIs! Sorry about the short note, but I need to get back on the treadmill, literally, in order to prepare for this last stretch at work. I have not been keeping up with running because I am so broken at the end of each day. To motivate myself, I am also training for a very short local race to support the SPCA. Good thing my age category rarely has more than a couple of people in it, so being second or third doesn't sound so awful...

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy definitely doing the best we can is all we can do and I know the NIRDI’s try to do that every day. Marty still has a few things that his shoulder resists or complains about but considering the usual outcome for most who have this surgery he has done remarkably well. Sorry for the upcoming busy and stressful weeks - best wishes to you and Greg and Big Hugs to both of you.

@Jemi how nice to make friends in the airport. Definitely a pleasant way to pass the time. One time I rode around in the cart with Marty while he was playing golf. He just got paired up people for a tee time so he didn’t know them. So I start asking what’s their name, what do they do? Marty said I don’t know, we just are talking golf. I informed him if it was women they would know each other’s life stories by the 18th hole. Glad you made it back to France safely. Cute picture of that little escape artist.

@springerspaniel yay for being close to closing the door on your position and starting a new adventure. Best wishes for far less stress. That’s great you signed up for a local race.

@canuk-gal keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

Marty has been cleaning his gym most of the day so I ended up cleaning his office. I went downstairs to empty all the trashcans and decided his carpet needed vacuumed, things needed picked up and straightened plus his desk had several empty coffee mugs, bowls, glasses to bring up. Also since he likes to be barefoot there were several pairs of socks on the floor. I am not sure he even noticed it was picked up. I didn’t mess with his paperwork but you’d think he noticed the other things.

I did a few batches of laundry and have 6 inches knit on my throw. My fingers are a little achy because I haven’t knit that much in a long time.

Take care.
