Now I really did it :((

@Austina - As you know, I've been all over the place recently with health issues, going back and forth between Boston and Cali, etc etc - but...you're going to Australia?? Which part? Are you traveling with Australians who know the countryside and where you should go and what you should see? You know I'm Australian, yes? Is there any help I can give you?

Thanks @mrs-b, we’re actually going on a cruise, starting in Singapore. We went to Australia in 2007 or 8, can’t remember now, but our friends haven’t been that far before.

There are several ports before we get to Oz, but we start in Perth and end in Sydney. The plan is to spend a few days in Singapore before the cruise, and a few days in Sydney after.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy anytime you can get insurance to pay for meds that is a plus. We all pay enough for it. I do feel like I am working all day again. But I am enjoying it so far and I am starting to feel better about knowing what I am doing. We usually cook our meals too but I've been slacking on fixing lunch for us since I seem to be "working" then. My articles are not "current" so I will try and just make sure I take a lunch so I can cook for us. Your applesauce sounds awesome and Munchie is so cute.

@Austina nice that you have such warm weather. We are in the 60's today and it is only windy not semi truck tipping windy. Yay! BTW - I never take care of my winter clothes or coats. I do feel like I work all day again. I started at 10 today and worked till about 1; then cooked lunch and finished up a few things. I will work on the rest Monday. I am glad you are getting some back from BA but hate to hear they claim they refunded it all when they haven't. Grr!!! How frustrating. So you are considering a trip down under? I would like to see the southern skies but I hate just flying to Phoenix.

@bling_dream19 I must have missed something but sending you mega healing dust!

One of those short nights for both of us but I stayed in bed and tried to fall back asleep. Something kind of woke us up about 2:30. I met Marty for breakfast after he was finished with his morning clients at the gym and had already been on one conference call for work. I picked up some stuff from Walgreens on the way home and started on my "job" at about 10. I had some confusing instructions and something they wanted added to posts didn't make sense so I emailed out some questions and cooked lunch. Mmm tacos for lunch. I finished up a few things after lunch and said I'd work on the rest of my assigned tasks Monday. So far I am getting assigned things that are not "current" so there is no rush in what I'm going.

Think I'll run to Kohls now. I have some things to return. I bought some stuff on sale but I got what I paid for. I washed the pullover sweater as instructed and when I went to lay it out to dry it was now a dress. Since the 2 cardigans I ordered are the same contents with the same washing instructions I decided to return them. I'd rather spend more and get something from Land's End that I know won't get all stretched out of shape before I wear it.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy Caturday Saturday!

We had a wonderful bike ride yesterday. 50 miles. Woohoo.
The weather however has turned so it's going to be very cold windy few days.

I also ordered my specialty med yesterday but of course there's a glitch. In NY and NJ we cannot order needles without a separate RX. Which makes no sense as you cannot take this med without needles since it's an injection. And my endocrinologist didn't realize he had to place an RX order for separate needles. And this all happened after hours yesterday. I am not too bent out of shape as I still am unsure I want to start this med but I wanted to get the ball rolling.

@marcy I don't consider it slacking at all. I am just super picky and don't love ordering other people's food. You deserve a break so enjoy. LOL your sweater is now a dress. I love those transformations haha. Lands End stuff isn't the same quality it was a decade ago. I still get things from them but don't expect longevity from them and yes some of their stuff needs to go right back to them. We do get what we pay for much of the time. XOXO

@bling_dream19 biggest hugs and lots of love. I hope you receive a call soon clarifying your next steps. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and so is Greg. (((HUGS))).

@Slick1 I hope you enjoy a terrific weekend. XOXO.

@Austina nice you are enjoying warm weather. Your house is looking good. Almost there. So happy you are pleased. And please do come right over. You and Colin and Adam and Kim are welcome anytime. Post pandemic that is. :) I would love to make my homemade apple sauce for all of you. Hugs.

@springerspaniel hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend and fun vacation. Big hugs.

@mrs-b have a great weekend and feel good. Big hugs.

@MamaBee I am so glad you are feeling much better. Woohoo. What a week plus it has been for you. Stay well and big hugs.

@canuk-gal hope you are doing OK and the trip back was easy. Hugs and love across the miles.

Hi to everyone else. Good cycling day yesterday and hoping for many more in the months to come. But for now winter has returned so we shall do wintery stuff. Making the best of each day. Sending my friends lots of love and hugs. Be well and enjoy a wonderful weekend.

Leaving you with a photo during our cycling adventures yesterday.

Taken as we were in action. :)

GM girls and happy Sunday!
We had a good hike yesterday.
It was challenging but fun.
Especially when it was over haha.
Today we are planning another despite the more frigid temps.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
Sending love and hugs to my sweet friends here and keeping good thoughts for you.
XOXO.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy beautiful pictures from your outing. Yay for 50 miles on the bike yesterday. The fun continues for you now having problems getting needles. I hope that is easily resolved. I very much agree with you on the quality of Land's End recently. If they ever change their squall parka I will cry. I have some in different sizes so I plan on keeping them until they fall apart. My fleece jackets from years ago are way warmer too. I plan on losing more weight so I am not going to spend much on clothes especially when I'm not going in to the office. I bought the new MacBook Air yesterday. I'm loving it so far. That's what you have, right?

We are having gorgeous weather this weekend. Windy but nice and sunny. We ventured to Colorado tomorrow. My 4 year old MacBook Pro has been getting hot when I use it and the fan keeps kicking on so I decided it might need replaced. So far I like my new laptop. We had dinner at our favorite steak house down there and had a nice time just getting out.

I am working on laundry today and finished the April newsletter for the astronomy club. Off to knit. I am on skein 3 of my throw and need to find a larger tote bag to store it in; it's getting big.

Take care.
Marcy

Hello lovelies

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.

Woohoo to some calmer weather @marcy and going out for a lovely meal. I’ve got lots of needles in my container, but of course, no help to you! Don’t you just hate it when a company changes the quality of their product?

Wow, 50 miles, that’s a great start to the year’s cycling @missy. Boo to the weather changing. Looks like we’re in for a hot one this week, up to 85 degs on Saturday.

I finally heard from Shirley today. Her DIL and grandchildren flew out to join them on Wednesday, and she’d told me that Shirley wasn’t doing too well, but I was really saddened to get her email. She thinks that Bob is going to be joining them soon, had no recollection about our house and thought she and her DIL were coming back next week to visit us.

Sending big love and hugs to you all. :wavey:

@Austina You are so understanding about the color mistake on your cabinets. I can’t believe you will have to repaint them yourself. I know you are a good painter because of all you’ve done before at your previous home…It still makes me mad that they didn’t offer to paint them for you.
I didn’t get a new ring. This was the reset of Ashlee..my antique asscher. I originally had her set in a custom baguette halo but it was too much for such a little diamond. David Klass cut a lab sapphire to set into that setting. I had a new setting made up for Ashlee. I get bored with my avatars so I keep changing them..lol
@missy I can’t believe you need a whole new prescription for the needles. I understand if you were just ordering them by themselves with all the people that abuse drugs..but like you said you need them to give yourself injections with the medicine. Everything in healthcare and prescriptions have so much red tape now.
I feel so much better..Thank you…I still cough at night though..I have to sleep with a sugar free cough drop in my mouth at all times or I start coughing.
Your apples looks yummy! I would love to see the finished applesauce! I have a craving for it now..Do you sweeten it?
Dinosaurs..
@mrs-b I hope you are feeling great. You sure need a break..I hope you are having a nice time with Eleanor..I think you will be seeing Tim soon too..
I love the projects you have planned. I‘m happy you went with going with all the diamonds David sourced for you. Just from what I know about you on here..I felt you may regret them if they all weren’t the same top notch diamonds. The doodad sounds wonderful.
@junebug17 It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your daughter and her boyfriend. I love how the dynamic changes when they get older. They see you as regular people in addition to being their parents. I hope you enjoy your time in SC next weekend.
@marcy You seem to be working a lot for being retired! As long as you’re happy with it then that’s good! More money for bling!
@bling_dream19 I know I must have missed a post of yours..but I’m hoping you are okay. Big hugs..
@Slick1 I hope you and your little furry sweetie are doing great. I love his poses. Give him a kiss from me. I miss having a dog but we don’t think we can do it again. You know the saying..Never say never..I really don’t think we will get another one though. I said that after Gordie passed. It took me two years..I really don’t know..
@springerspaniel I hope you are having a good weekend. Are you wearing your emerald more now?
@canuk-gal That was so nice of your friend to bring you lunch! I think of you every day and hope you are doing okay.
I’m actually enjoying my husband being home. He is driving me crazy a bit but he's nice to have around. We’ve had a bunch of disagreements but it’s a learning curve. I’m sure I’m a pain too…
Big hugs..

GM and Happy Monday girls!

@marcy sweet. Yes I have the new MacBook air and love it. I am a MacBook Air fan.
I am still unsure what to do about this med. Once I start it's a never ending merry go round of meds and follow up meds. So it's a big decision. And it is not a clear cut yes or no. Wish I had a crystal ball. Glad you are enjoying some lovely weather. It has become literally freezing here with a windchill of 11F. Stay warm and enjoy. Hugs

@MamaBee I am so glad you are feeling so much better. I will find a photo for you and no need to sweeten it. It is super sweet as it is. XOXO

Screen Shot 2022-03-28 at 7.05.30 AM.png

@Austina that is very sad news about Shirley. Life is cruel and just marches on leaving devastation in its path. And the best we can do is be there for each other and provide love and comfort to make it a little less challenging. My heart goes out to them. Hugs

@bling_dream19 big hugs sweet friend. And lots of well wishes today tomorrow and always. XOXO

@Slick1 how did Monday get here so fast? Hope the week is a good one. Hugs

@springerspaniel hope you are having a good vacation and when the time comes a good return to reality and may that reality be sweet. XOXO

@canuk-gal you are in my thoughts and hope you can feel my warm hugs.

@mrs-b big hugs and lots of love sweet friend.

Hi to everyone else. We had a good day yesterday. Hiking and I also made a new batch of root veggies. Today is absolutely feeling so staying inside I think. I have a zoom group call later and hopefully the day will go smoothly. Lots on my mind. Too much to even share but one day at a time. Sending my sweet friends lots of love and hugs.

Leaving you with a quick photo from our hike yesterday.

Hi NIRDI's!

@Austina we should have nice weather all week. I won't bet anyone on that though. I am sorry to hear Shirley isn't doing well. That is so hard for everyone to deal with.

@MamaBee your new avatar ring is gorgeous. I do feel like I'm working again. Right now I am hoping to earn enough to pay myself back for my new laptop. That is nice you are enjoying have your husband at home.

@missy your applesauce looks so good. That is probably why I've been wanting to pick some up. Good luck with deciding about your meds - I hate those things that once you start them you can't quit them - plus the worry about side effects and interactions with other things. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Brrrr - you are cold there. Stay warm.

I got up at 6 am today so was working on some articles by 8 am. My new setup with the laptop and large monitor is working great for my job. Takes me longer to research some of this stuff than to do the updates. I'm hungry so guess I will fix myself a bowl of fruit and wait for the griller to get up here and cook our protein for us.

Take care.
Marcy

HI:

NIRDI shout out.

Trying to take it easy after a week than has been anything but easy. The celebration of my Mother's life was beautiful.

Sharon

GM girls and happy terrific Tuesday!

@bling_dream19 hope your week is going as smoothly as possible. Big hugs.

@Slick1 we are into spring but it feels more like winter. Brrrr. Stay warm. XOXO

@marcy gorgeous sunrise. Homemade applesauce is the bees knees or rather the apples awesomeness. XOXO

@canuk-gal I am so happy your mom's celebration of life went well and she was honored by all those who love her. Thank you for sharing. Gentle hugs.

@MamaBee hope you are having a good week. Have you decided what you are going to for about the boosters? Hugs.

@Austina what is the ETA for moving? Do you have an approximate month? XOXO

Hi to everyone else. We had a good day yesterday. Went too fast though and a great zoom call. This morning was hectic. I went to Lab Corp to get some lab work done and it looks like my out of state doctor's orders might not be covered by insurance anymore. That is a bummer since most of my doctors are out of state. Sigh.

It is pretty cold out still. 28 degrees F with a windchill much lower. We have errands to run but I am definitely late for getting started with my day. The blood work took longer than anticipated and I am just relaxing for a bit before I get started with my workout and my day. Be well girls and enjoy a good Tuesday. Lots of love.

Clyde has been enjoying the views of Mt Cannon and Mt Lafayette! He sits in this chair every day. I am trying to relax, and having some success, but also catching up on things I put off toward the end of my last few weeks. Of course, despite my efforts to head off delays in my first paycheck and loss off benefits, they have mistakenly decided that I am a brand new employee and that I do not start until the 18th April. I will politely tell them that if that is so, then I do not plan to start ANYTHING until the 18th of April, and continue to enjoy vacation. (Even though I will probably still continue working on my projects to be fair to the lab I am joining...)

Of course, I am thinking WWND (What Would the Nirdis Do?) Thinking of all of you and I am glad Sharon that you feel last week was a good way to remember your Mom. Love to everyone!

I am sorry you have a snag to deal with and since you asked this is what I would (try to) do.

I would (politely of course) make sure they cleared up their mistakes. You are not a brand new employee and benefits and paychecks etc should continue uninterrupted. So yeah. I would contact the person who could correct this error and continue to enjoy vacation til they do.

And OMG Clyde is so adorable. :kiss2:
I hope you can continue relaxing and enjoying and do not let this snafu affect you.

((((Hugs))))

Hello lovelies

I’m so glad your final goodbye to your Mum was a fitting tribute to her and a celebration of her life @canuk-gal. Take it easy, it must’ve been very emotionally draining for you all.

I love Clyde @springerspaniel, that face  If they’re not paying you until the 19th April, then yes, enjoy your time away and extend it before your ‘official’ start! I hope they sort everything out, and quickly.

What a fabulous photo @marcy, but this getting up at 6am, tell your internal body clock that it’s retired now, so quit the early alarm calls!

Wow, that’s cold @missy, it’s been high 80’s here the last few days, and the forecast is more of the same all week. I’m so sorry that yet again, your medical issues have been complicated even further by the insurance company. I feel so frustrated for you, it’s stressful enough dealing with your issues without them throwing spanners in the works at every twist and turn.

At this stage @MamaBee, I’m trying not to stress too much, so repainting the units won’t be an issue, and they were the colour we chose, just not the colour we’d seen on screen.

We’ve had a busy few days, we spent hours over the weekend catching up with friends via FaceTime, which was great. Yesterday, Colin had an incredibly frustrating time trying to sort out our flights over to the UK and back in November. We had a future flight voucher which he was trying to use, only you couldn’t use them for an online booking. Trying to get through on the phone is nigh on impossible. He eventually did, but the guy couldn’t calculate what, if anything, we owed for using the voucher, so said he’d book it and they’d contact us. They did, later in the day via email, which you can’t reply to, and Colin kept getting cut off :roll2: He eventually got it sorted out, but we needed to do that before booking the other flights.

Then we had to ring our UK CC company to alert them that we’d be putting through a large transaction so they didn’t block it. We arranged with Sue & Rob to FT them so Colin could walk him through booking our flights out to Singapore and back from Sydney. That was fun, but we needed to do it at exactly the same time because Rob wasn’t familiar with booking multi leg flights and we needed to ensure they were on the same flights. By the time we’d done that, it was lunchtime.

We got an email late Sunday with the weekly progress report, saying the tiling had started, so we dashed up to the house to check the tiles were the colours we thought they were. Fortunately, they were fine, and the tiler hadn’t started yet anyway.

We’ve gone for very plain tiles, it was safest to do that when we couldnt actually see them. These are the wall and floor tiles for the guest bathrooms. Light grey on the walls, dark on the floors. The hexagon tiles for the shower floor hadn’t been delivered yet, nor have the tiles for the kitchen splashback.

We’re popping up to the house later as we’ve got a meeting with a landscaper, so we’ll see how the tiler is getting on.

The stone people have been out to measure up for the counter tops, and the path and driveway are due to be laid this week too.

They’re saying end of May for completion @missy, but it’s hard to see that it’ll take that long at the rate they’re working.

Hope all the lovely NIRDIs are doing well.

That’s all folks! :wavey:

@Austina I love your choices! Elegant and sophisticated. Purrrrfect. And yay for May. That will be here before we know it! And even if it is after May it still will be here faster than we realize.
Thanks for your warm words. Appreciate it. XO.

Hi @Austina! I really love your tile choices, (and this is from someone who has asked a builder to explain why it mattered which grout I chose, and that I really did not care...) Your story about calling the airlines and getting vouchers straightened out was very validating, since my husband has been trying to use several vouchers and credits we accumulated over the past year. He has encountered similar situations, and the most recent is that he had to book several flights and is now sequentially canceling each one and converting to another form of credit that is more easily used. We still have not been able to use our Qantas credit because the website keeps pooping out on us. We are dying to return to that hemisphere again!

@missy I’m going to get the booster when it’s available. I did get the antibody test two months ago…Who knows if it dropped like a brick since then. Also, I don’t know if those antibodies would protect me...or another factor is more important like T cells. I think it’s long enough time for my body to accept a new shot and not be overwhelmed from too many antibodies. I don’t want to take another antibody test now…I may do it after time passes from the fourth one.
What have you decided to do?
@Austina I agree with Missy..Your choices are elegant and sophisticated. I love everything you picked for your house. They are moving very quickly..I hope you get in earlier than the end of May.
That’s great news that you got your trip all straightened out. It seems nothing is easy anymore. It will be nice for you to have a trip to look forward to.
I‘m getting cabin fever. I keep saying I want to rent a house somewhere…anywhere..
Our middle guy is hoping to rent a house in the Outer Banks in June with his family. They asked us if we would like to join them. We said yes..This was about a month ago so I’m not sure he was able to find anything..It’s kind of late to book for the summer.
@springerspaniel I would definitely take a vacation until the day they have set as your starting date. I would also call to see if it could be fixed by whoever made the mistake. The transition should be seamless. I hope you are able to relax a little.
We have people coming to give estimates for fixing a leak we have in our basement. It’s a small one that comes on when we have a soaking rain. We run downstairs with shop towels to put next to the area when we think
it will happen. No one knows where it’s coming from. We plan to sell this house within a year so we have to solve it. We will also replace the carpeting in the whole basement area. We need a new roof, the house painted, downstairs floors refinished..Bailey did a number on the floors. I would take his hair and all the damage he did to this house in a heartbeat if we could have him back.
Talk to you all later..XO

@MamaBee i don’t know yet. Right now no. As of February 2nd my antibodies were high like yours. I am afraid of overwhelming my immune system. I’ll see what my endocrinologist thinks but I think he’ll say to wait.

Maybe I will get an antibody test just before getting one. Please let me know what the endocrinologist says.
I just went back to see when I got mine..February 22..It seemed earlier than that.

Hi ladies -just a quick 'touch base' before I get on a plane this afternoon to head back to Boston for 6 weeks.

@canuk-gal - I've been thinking of you and hope each day brings a little extra souls-ease. I'm so glad your celebration of your mother's life was what you had hoped it would be. How is your Canadian weather going? Any hope of getting on your bike any time soon?

@bling_dream19 - thinking of you often and sending hugs, love, and prayers. Stay in touch, pls - it will stop me from bugging you otherwise! ox

@missy - you need a script for needles for a drug you've already been prescribed?? Does the madness never end?? I'm not sure if you remember that my insurance co. has now said they won't cover Eliquis but *will* cover Xarelto - despite my cardiologist saying that Xarelto makes my blood too thin and causes both bruises and eye bleeds. They rejected her claim, said it has to be Xarelto - and, of course, I had my first eye bleed this weekend. I've also got 6 bruises at the moment - all of unknown origin. Awesome. On the other hand - your beach photo from last Saturday was GORGEOUS - and - 50 miles?? You go girl!! oxo

@MamaBee - I had my 4th shot and was happy to have it. I haven't had an antibody test yet, tho, and should do. I'll let you know if I get around to it. Thank you for your kind comments about my new pieces - I'll be very pleased to be back to having a complete platinum 'dress set' of jewelry. it will take a few months tho - this stuff isn't cheap! There's over 5 ctw of colorless, ideal-cut diamonds in the earrings, and another 2 ctw of slightly lesser quality diamonds in the pendant. And then, of course, there's the settings.... They will be beautiful pieces, tho, and I'll be thrilled to own them. After that, I want to do a locket, but it might take a little while. Possibly Christmas. We'll see.

@springerspaniel - take the vacation time!! I suspect it will be a while till it comes around again, so take the opportunity and relax! And Clyde looks adorable - keeping an eye on the general vista! Please give him a kiss from me. <3 And I'm so looking forward to seeing my new ring - yay! (For those who don't know - I bought Springerspaniel's SMASHING hot pink sapphire and yellow gold eternity - woohoooo!). Still hoping we can do an in-person hand off, tho it might be a few weeks. if the time period looks like it's going to blow out, perhaps we can do a shipping for the ring, then a lunchtime get together? Really looking forward to hearing about the new job when it starts - tho it's unsurprising to me that you've already started work! Hugs to you!

@Austina - your house is looking lovely and your choices are fabulous! I hope things continue to progress in a timely manner, post the windows debacle! Re your trip to Australia - what are you planning to see while in Sydney? Are you going to get up to the Blue Mountains (my area of heritage)? It's very beautiful and worth seeing. And - my apologies if I missed this but - which month are you going? Qantas is a NIGHTMARE to contact. My friend, Wendy, had to call them to move flights twice while here; once she gave up after 4 hours on hold, second time she reached them - 5.5 hours, third time we were THRILLED it was around an hour. And it's insane that you can't move flights online with them. You have to call them - which I'm sure is a ploy by them to avoid changing flights at all! Good luck with all of this!

@marcy - you sound like you're being super productive for a retiree! Altho - perhaps your retired status is allowing you now to pursue things more closely aligned with your interests. So that works. I hear you, re cooking meals. Since semi-relocating to California, I find I am now making meals for my God-kids ALL the time, and I seem to be spending hours in the kitchen. They all came over on Sunday and helped me clear up and plant my tiny little courtyard, so to say thanks, I popped them in the pool/hot tub when we were done, while I made baked salmon, roasted potatoes and corn on the cob, a huge mound of caramelized onions and grilled mushrooms, and a salad of butter lettuce, mango, avocado, pecans, cilantro, tomato and onion - with a sweet chili sauce. We had hot bread and butter as well, then had a huge bowl of sliced strawberries and grapes, marinated in sugar and balsamic vinegar syrup, served with whipped cream. I made mimosas to drink, and a wonderful time was had by all! (Except when we had to clean up!). I hope life continues to go smoothly for you and please keep those gorgeous photos coming!

@Slick1 - how are you doing? Are you still working at the school? Do I have that right? And all your puppy photos warm my heart - as you probably know by the way I <3 every single one on Instagram! I hope you're well - I think of you often.

@junebug17 - you're off to South Carolina and the beach? How lovely! What is the weather like there at the moment? Is it warm enough to swim, or no? I hope you're enjoying family time and that all is well with you!

Hugs to you all and much love - I need to go catch a plane!

NIRDI shoutout! oxo. <3

Oh that makes me so upset for you @mrs-b it’s madness the insurance company is insisting on you taking a med that causes horrible side effects for you. I’m so angry. Please call your insurance company and speak to a supervisor and also call your doctor and make them do a peer to peer review. It’s unacceptable you have to go through this. Big hugs and bucketloads of healing vibes to you. ❤️

HI:

NIRDI shout out!

@missy we had snow overnight, but it didn't last. Temps are decent and it is sunny and bright. Tomorrow is supposed to be very warm--hopefully we can cycle. I inherited jewellery from my Mother and the large opal ring is in disrepair so I am goin to my bench tomorrow but that won't take all afternoon. I'll take my emerald along as well, for an estimate on a custom setting.

@marcy you are very busy! When I am not working I sleep in--you are an early bird!

@Austina love you house choices. Your cruise sounds wonderful!

@mrs-b your supper sounded lovely! I have ridden once this year...it is early! Hope you are feeling well.

@springerspaniel hope you are relaxing!

@MamaBee hope your leak repair is an easy one. How is your Mom?

I did loads of laundry today--that was my big event. I will return to work on Friday. Will seem strange to go back but I need to get back into the swing of things.

Wow. Well, all I can say is that American Airlines dinner service is waaaaay better than their breakfast service - which is small, uninspiring and doesn't taste like much of anything. Dinner, on the other hand, is fabulous!

I started with a cocktail, which came with a small bowl of hot nuts and some rosemary infused mixed olives.

Then - soup or salad - I chose salad with a dreamy tarragon dressing, and that comes with bread rolls.

After that - a choice of 4 main meals, and I chose chicken with mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and a creamy sauce.

3 choices for dessert, and I'll probably have the cheese plate, tho there's also an incecream sundae with hot fudge or butterscotch pudding. My cocktail ice my dessert, so cheese it is!

They have snacks to finish shortly before disembarking, but that's too much for me, so I'll pass. I don't eat before I fly, so I come at it with an empty belly, but even so - it's a lot. Lucky me. :))

I'm currently being served by a lovely lady called Renee who just bought me a second cocktail (I drink when I fly - what can I say??) - a Disaronno on ice. God bless women who drink.

Apparently, according to the lovely Renee, Disaronno and Baileys is a cocktail - a Gilbert. I have GOT to try that!

@mrs-b I was hoping that your return flight was a lot smoother than the trip to CA was! Welcome back from the Left Coast!

PS I am happy to ship the ring to you, just let me know.

Thanks, @springerspaniel - that might be the way forward.

I'm currently having The Gilbert; it's every bit as delicious as you might think!
