Now I really did it :((

@missy - mine is for 24 hours. Sigh.

As for the photo - I posted it mostly because I think it's rather funny - I look SOOOOO unimpressed, don't I!

Much better now and have had quite a nice day. Hoping all the NIRDIs are hanging in ok.

Hello lovelies

Ugh @mrs-b , what a monumental cock-up, I would be absolutely fuming too. When are people going to realise that a simple apology goes a long way in mitigating these things, instead of trying to defend the indefensible? Tim is such a treasure and the flowers are beautiful. I hope you’re both feeling calmer now after such a frustrating start to the day.

Yay for being able to get out and hike. How did the kitties appts go? Did they get the all clear? Aren’t we all such lucky NIRDIs to have such supportive partners? I think I must be getting used to the heat because I didn’t find it too unbearable yesterday, but I certainly wouldn’t sit out in it.

Hang in there @springerspaniel, hopefully this blip will soon be a dim and distant memory.

Went up to the house to find not only had the electrician NOT moved the lights he’s put up in the wrong place, but he’s also put the games room fan in the great room. Went and reported it to the sales office only to receive a snotty email later saying that we’re not supposed to talk to the workmen and the site manager oversees these things, so we need not concern ourselves. Well he did such a good job yesterday, that the electrician didn’t put his mistakes right, and then made a further mistake!

Isn’t the week whizzing by again?

Love and hugs to you all :wavey:

GM girls and happy Thursday! Windy and stormy here at the Jersey shore. Those waves are crashing against the beach and even with our windows and terrace doors closed the sounds are quite impressive.

@mrs-b hoping for that day to go easily and uneventfully and for the results to be good. XOXO.

@bling_dream19 hope the week is going well and big hugs.

@springerspaniel it's all working out even if not exactly according to plan. What's that quote about adapting and making the best of the situation. That is exactly what you are doing. You go girl. Soon you will be in a much better situation. XOXO.

@Slick1 hope your family is doing well. Sending lots of hugs and love your way. And please hug Bear from me.

@Austina the week certainly is whizzing by and you are smart to keep an eye on things at the house. Micromanaging is necessary in this situation. You will be relieved when it is all over and done. XOXO.

@MamaBee so now it is being predicted a fourth booster might be needed in the fall. I am waiting and repeating my antibody test before I decide. XOXO.

@marcy hope your afghan is coming along nicely and no more snow storms in your near future. Hugs.

@canuk-gal hope you are having a good week. Big hugs.

Hi everyone else. I felt like I pulled a @marcy yesterday haha. I was so productive. I vacuumed, did sheets, made applesauce and roasted root veggies all while Greg brought Bobby and Tommy to my sister the veterinarian. And caught up with a dear friend.

Waiting for their blood results today. Bobby had one tooth pulled and one root pulled and came through like a champ. And of course they both charmed all the techs there. Always with how handsome and sweet they both are. And they are!

Screen Shot 2022-04-07 at 7.08.03 AM.png

Have a lovely Thursday girls. Be well. Big hugs.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Austina I not jealous of your 97 degree weather; that sounds really hot to me. We are still having a major windy as heck event going on. I am so grateful my phone alerts me of the wind ever few hours. Ha Ha. I did sleep a bit better, thank you. How frustrating the landscaper showed up so late. You do just reach a point where that’s enough. That is awful the lights are in the wrong place; that is exactly why we checked our place pretty much every day. There were putting in the fireplace wrong, they weren’t going to angle the door for our den, they were missing electrical outlets, etc. I am sure they got sick of hearing from Marty. My dad came by all the time during the day and checked on them as well. And we also got a call from the lady we dealt with to build our house that we wen’t supposed to go inside unless we made an appointment with her and not to bother the workers. Funny thing was they put in the sliding glass doors downstairs backwards so it wouldn’t lock - Marty would go down and get in that way and then come up and let me in the garage door. Ha! Glad you are set for your November trip.

@missy what sweet looking deer. Nice to get to go for a hike and not see any people, just sweet scenery and animals for company. Sorry to hear you are getting so much rain; now that I don’t have to worry about baseball I am not up on the rainy season as much as I used to be. We will start getting rain maybe next month. It’s dry in the west so everywhere can sure use it. Ha Ha to pulling a Marcy yesterday. You were busy. The lady I am working for asked me if she was giving me too much to do; she doesn’t know me very well yet. That’s great Bobby came through his dental work like a champ. I hope he seems to be doing well today.

@springerspaniel sorry about the potholes in life; as @missy always says - one day at a time. I hope you get everything straightened out. Mega dust coming your way.

@mrs-b WTH on your appointment? Someone slipped up on notifying you for sure. Plus you wasted all that time (and these days - gas) to get there. You look lovely and the flowers Tim got you are gorgeous. My 2 favorite colors of roses. I am also with you and @missy about that expression thinking of healthcare professionals.

My afghan is coming along. I plan on working on it again shortly. I worked about 5 hours today and have some future assignments so that is good.

I got up about 6 today and did sleep a little better. All of a sudden I am waking up again and having trouble going back to sleep. Marty is swamped at work so I ordered in lunch again today. I can do my work in the afternoon so maybe I should adjust a few things and get back to cooking lunch. The lady I work for starts her day at 4 am CT so she is texting and emailing me well before I get up so I kind of jump in and do things as soon as I eat breakfast. She says she doesn’t mind when I work on things and I did clear with her that I am working 4 to 5 hours a day. I don’t want her freaking out when she sees how many hours I put in at the end of the month. The research takes me longer to do than updating a post. I am finding at least one mistake in every post I do; maybe they should move me over to the proofing department.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi all..We are having a leak fixed in our basement rec room. It leaked for four years. No one could figure out where it was coming from. We went with a major job that should take care of any scenario. They were jackhammering the concrete floor in the basement after pulling up the carpet. More fun tomorrow…Large pieces of bead board and sheetrock are gone. One pump was installed..another one tomorrow. I also picked up my mom..Chris came too.
This post is all about me..sorry..lol
We decided to sell the house in Maryland..and keep the house here in Pa as a second house. This way we can visit my mom when we move to Virginia. I have better furniture here than Maryland so don’t know how that’s going to work out. I may have to do some swapping.
@Austina are you using a climate controlled storage facility? If we sell the house in Maryland we would need to put that furniture in storage.
@missy We‘re going to get our antibodies checked..If they are still high we’ll also wait. If not..we’ll get the booster. It’s been seven months for me already. Where did the time go..
Big hugs to all. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Yeah, they pulled that on us too @marcy, so we read the contract and we can go in if we get the site manager to come with us. It makes us want to arrange for him to be there everyday just for the hell of it! Honestly, from what we’ve seen, he couldn’t manage himself out of a paper bag.

Our relocation company organised everything to do with our move, and we’re assuming it’s a climate controlled storage facility, I think it’d have to be in this heat. When the house is ready, they arrange to deliver and unpack everything. Sounds like you’re knee deep in the repairs ATM, but it’s sensible to get it done before selling, gives buyers less to haggle about. Will you miss the house when you sell it? We’re still wearing masks when we go to the shops, and IF we need another booster, we’re going to wait till later in the year as it seems from reading the info that @missy has posted in the other thread, any benefit will wear off fairly quickly.

Glad the kitties are all good after their trip to see Debbie, and I’m not surprised the staff there love them. The weather was a much more pleasant 71 degs today, far more bearable. I hope your weather has been less stormy today and you were able to get out.

I hope you and Tim had a less stressful day today @mrs-b.

We already had an appt at the house today for a blind company to come and quote so got ‘permission’ to enter the house :roll2: The quote (though still expensive) is a lot less than some of the others, so we’re going with that company. They were grouting the backsplash and doing the floor of Bed 2 shower when we were there. Looks like there’re just a few small pieces to do in our shower, then all the tiling is done.

Hope all the NIRDIs are doing well and looking forward to the weekend.

:wavey:

Just a quick update on my surgery so everyone is in the loop....

I'm not proceeding with the surgery, not least of which because my insurance company has turned it down twice. Despite it being recommended by 3 different surgeons over a 6 year period, they said I hadn't met the requirements. I think they want me to have steroid injections first. But I have a big glucose reaction to steroid injections. I had them in my knees about 7 years ago and my glucose went from the low 100's up to 395 by the time they worked out why my heart was racing and I couldn't keep my eyes open and ALL I wanted to do was lay down and sleep. I remember nodding off in the chair DURING my appt with my PCP. Can you say "diabetic coma"?? I was also on oral steroids and they whipped me off those and I was told *not* to sleep - but instead to do very gentle exercise as much as I could, drink loads of water, and stay right off carbs. This was on a Monday. By Friday - my glucose was back down to 127. I cannot - and I mean CANNOT - take steroid injections.

So we are at an impasse.

To be fair, I was having reservations anyway, as my back has been feeling ok for some considerable time now. I can't exercise like I used to up to a year ago, but I can use an elliptical for half an hour and I can do a one hour yoga class, and I plan to go back to the gym to do light weights and weight machines. My schedule is aerobics twice a week, weights twice a week and yoga twice a week. Sundays off. I have to be incredibly careful as I'm hyper mobile (I can stand with my feet a little way apart and put my elbows on the floor, for example), and my physical therapist thinks a lot of my problem is that my back is just super loose. So PT now is focusing on strengthening/stabilizing exercises. Fingers crossed this helps, and if the worst comes to the worst, and we decide I HAVE to have the surgery - which I would dearly love to avoid - we'll pay for it out of pocket.

So. That's me for now.

@MamaBee - HUGE news re your MD house. This is your vacation home, yes? The one that had the flies that you hated? I hope your entry to the market is fast and smooth and that your time there is very brief; selling houses is the pits. The pump project sounds awful and I hope that's finished very quickly.

@marcy - any chance of a photo of your afghan? I'd love to see it! And I'm with you - 97 sounds hideous to me - and I'm Australian! And I have to say, typos, spelling mistakes, and everything of that nature sends me mental. I'm asked to compose letters, reports, applications and so on and so on - as well as spell check and edit things for people in my immediate circle ALL THE TIME. I'm a bit neurotic with grammar and so on, so I'm thinking we're kindred spirits. :))

@missy - super productive day yesterday! Well done you! And poor little Bobby - teeth issues are no fun. Please give him and Tommy kisses from me! Frankly, I love the sound of wild wind and waves! My type of weather. Hugs to you, dear girl! oxo

@Austina - the house sounds as tho it's really motoring at this point. I hope things go smoothly for you from here on in and that you're in it in no time! Are you getting excited? And - as for not being allowed to check up on things in your own home...phooey to that! Tim and I have renovated a bunch of houses and I'm FULLY aware that builders often don't want to be checked up on because they want to make mistakes and not have to correct them! Bah humbug!

@springerspaniel - thinking of you re work. I really hope you've been able to walk away from this in your head and cut yourself the slack we are all FULLY AWARE you deserve! Really cross here at the person who upset my friend! Unfair. Did you move your dental appt? I really hope not! Big hugs to you!

@bling_dream19 - thinking of you as always. oxo

@canuk-gal - I hope all is going well for you and that warm memories of your mother are sustaining you. Hugs to you.

My cluster earrings are arriving from DKJ tomorrow - so - yay! Seriously - do you want to see a couple of photos here, or would you rather I just posted them elsewhere? I'll be starting a thread in SMTB (probably), so can just link that here if you like.

Love to you all and looking forward to FriYay!

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

GM girls! Happy FriYAY! It's a beautiful morning here. We might go cycling. Woohoo.

@mrs-b no words about the insurance company but I do agree with you this is the best decision for now and hope your back pain remains at bay. Big hugs and lots of love.

@MamaBee water inside the house is our enemy. I so get the stress dealing with that and I hope it is completely resolved soon. Big hugs.

@marcy may I second that request for a photo of the afghan please? And lol no she doesn't know you very well yet but she will soon. Nothing is too much for our dear Marcy. Hope you have a happy weekend and now you are back to knowing what a weekend is haha. Hugs.

@Austina honestly it is ridiculous they won't allow you to check up on the work. All the contracting work we ever did we were there often and we monitored what was going on. We are paying and that is our prerogative. Period. Do what you need to do and don't let them deter you. And yes the homestretch is here. We are all excited for you. XOXO.

@bling_dream19 thinking of you every day and sending bucketloads of healing vibes your way. XOXO

@Slick1 hope you are looking forward to a happy weekend. Hugs.

@springerspaniel hope your weekend is sweet and all is going as smoothly as possible. And that you're healing well from the gum surgery. XOXO

Hi to everyone else. Have a wonderful FriYAY and be well. XOXO.
If only we could all relax like the kitties can.

Good morning! The men will be here soon so popping in to say hi!
@missy It was storming out yesterday..The thunder and lightning was crazy loud. It was pouring buckets when the men were here doing the basement rec room leak. They jackhammered huge chunks of concrete out of the floor and hand carried it out to their trucks. They got so much done but there were seven men on it the whole time. We will need sheetrock and carpentry repairs when it’s done. Then we have to order new carpet. If we were staying here I would get tile and area rugs. It’s less expensive to get carpet than tile. It’s a large area. We also have a pool table downstairs that I want to get rid of. My husband wanted one because I think he thought it would look inviting. Nope. We have a really nice wood bar down there but we don’t have any parties so it’s just for show..or decoration..not mine..I want that monstrosity gone..It will be a real pain to move it so we can get new carpeting down. We will eventually sell this house..so it will be better to just get it done now. We will keep this house as a secondary house in the meantime while my mom is in the nursing home down the road. The new owners most likely wouldn’t want a pool table anyway. I’m working on him..
Your kitties are the cutest! :kiss2: I hope their tests come out great.
@Austina I agree it’s crazy that you have to make an appointment to see the house. My husband would be a real pain to them wanting to see everything as it’s being done. I caught so many things that could have been huge mistakes if I didn’t check on my kitchen when it was redone. They wanted to put electrical outlets on the outside of the front cabinet in the island. It would have been an eyesore. They were pretty good but I had to make a mad dash there when one of the workmen called me when there was an issue about where to put a seam on the counter marble. I can’t imagine a whole house not having similar issues but magnified because of all the work that has to be done. You must be so excited that you can see the end soon. It’s going to be so amazing..
I loved my time in Texas except for the huge palmetto bugs and the heat. 97 degrees is just too hot! Wear tons of sunscreen.
@bling_dream19 I hope you are doing well. Did you get any of the rings you were having David make for you?
@canuk-gal I hope you are doing okay. Do you have any plans this weekend? Is your opal at the jeweler?
@springerspaniel I hope you are doing better..I felt so bad when you said you were crying. Big hugs..
@marcy You sure are working a lot. I noticed you do seem to manage time well. You get so much accomplished in a day. I wish I could be so organized with my time.
I also would love to see the afghan!
@mrs-b I cringe when I read about how the insurance companies give you and missy the run around. I’m happy your back is feeling better. It makes sense to go the PT route if your back has been feeling okay.
Yes..The house in Maryland is the one where the flies got in through basement brick walls.
The house was built in 1904 so there are many minute air pockets in those walls. Someone left the light on in the basement so they found their way in at night. That house is gorgeous but old. The upkeep is expensive and draining. We live in a historic district so we can’t do much without the historical society having a meeting about whether we can replace something. I have a chicken wire fence on one side of the property that we can’t replace because it’s historic. This house is not inexpensive..but we have to live with a chicken wire fence. It’s just ridiculous. I really got fed up with having to park on the street. Most homes in the area don’t have driveways. We would drive up to find all the spaces taken with a full car to unload. We would have to drive many blocks away to find a spot. We even have to give our guests parking passes to park on our street. I’ve had enough. No more old homes for me..A young couple that can put in their time and energy would be a good fit.
The men are here to put in the other pump. Fun times..haha
I hope everyone has a good day! XO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!! I had a busy work week but not unbearable. I am glad for the distraction because I am still grieving and find myself triggered and become teary.

We've been enjoying warm temps--supposed to be 20C today....we'll see about that. Windy but we'll cycle today for sure. I need my bike!!!

@MamaBee we live in a place "historical" with many covenants. Can't do this and that....such a PITA. So many rules and regulations--our renovations were a LONG process to receive approval. Hope your water problem gets solved.

@mrs-b Perhaps having the decision made for you regarding your surgery isn't a bad thing. Keep well and get stronger!!! And yes my opal ring is still in the hospital....LOL rehab

@missy glad the kitties are AOK!

@Austina I adore hot weather so 97 sounds perfect to me!!

@marcy our Lotto prize here is mega millions--I need a ticket! Tiffany can't wait!!

Keep well and safe folks.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy Caturday Saturday!

@MamaBee hope it went well and the water stays out from here on in. And your plans sounds like a good way to go. It's not easy having multiple homes but you have a solid plan. XOXO

@canuk-gal glad work was a good distraction and that you went riding yesterday. Wind is the theme around here lol but as long as we are not experiencing hurricane winds we go cycling weather permitting of course. Hope you had fun! And hope your warm temps continue. Hugs.

@bling_dream19 big hugs and healing vibes. XOXO

@Slick1 I hope whatever your weekend plans are you enjoy them! Hugs.

@marcy darn I keep forgetting to purchase lottery tickets. Gotta be in it to win it right? Haha.

@mrs-b wow! LOVE LOVE LOVE your new cluster earrings. Swooooon! Wear them in great health sweet friend. XOXO.

@Austina I hope you enjoy a terrific weekend. Big hugs.

Hi everyone else. We had a great cycling day yesterday. Though I pulled my groin muscle. LOL aging aint for sissies that's for sure. Luckily we are made tough in Brooklyn NY. You can take the girl out of Brooklyn but you cannot take the Brooklyn out of the girl. Truth! Anyway it was a glorious day. Today is a hiking day (if I can that is, not sure how easy I have to take it today but I will see soon). As chance of rain is predicted all day and it is pretty chilly. I hope everyone enjoys a terrific weekend. Sending you love and hugs and well wishes. Today, tomorrow and always. XOXO.

Hi. I will post tomorrow but here is my afghan so far. That is a love seat it is on. Definitely about as long as I am tall. 82BAEF7E-393E-4CA9-9669-677B2A802870.jpeg

GM girls happy Sunday!

@marcy gorgeous! I love it! What a bluetiful color too.

I am running late so will just share a photo from yesterday. During our hike we saw deer all over the place. Oh my goodness more than we have ever seen at once.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful weekend. XOXO.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Today is my oldest’s birthday. He asked for Pot Roast..It’s been in the oven since 10:30 this morning. He’s a huge meat lover so I had to make the biggest hunks of meat ever! He’s taking home the leftovers. They’re so big I hope they will cook in time for dinner! I told my husband if not we order in and it’s pot roast tomorrow! :/

Hi NIRDI’s!

@MamaBee I hate to hear you had a leak in your basement but glad you got it fixed. Good luck selling the house in Maryland. When my in-laws put their house on the market in Maryland they flew out here and I think it sold in 4-5 days and the people wanted to close ASAP so they cut their visit short and went back to clear out the house. Happy Birthday to Chris! Christ and Marty need lots of meat. Yesterday Marty grilled a 2.5 pound London Broil. I ate maybe 3-4 ounces off it and Marty ate everything else but maybe 5 ounces.

@Austina good idea to arrange a visit everyday at the house. Let them earn their money since they are so far behind schedule. I can totally identify with you on that. That is great the relocation company will deliver and unpack everything for you when you can move in to the new house. Nice to be getting the blinds arranged.

@mrs-b good luck on your cancer check up tomorrow. That would be wonderful if you didn’t end up needing the surgery since your back has been feeling okay. That is so nuts about how your insurance company want you to do something like the steroid injections when you have such a bad reaction to them. My sister used to work at a hospital and that was her job to get insurance approval on everything. I asked her about that when our insurance wouldn’t approve a MRI of my frozen knee. They wanted me to do therapy for 4 weeks first. She said anything expensive they kick back on requiring all previous tests and steps first. Something caught my eye in your exercising. From what I understand - and it’s hearsay from people I know - yoga stretches out your muscles and they don’t recover the older we get so I wonder if that is why your back is super loose. One of my employees did yoga several times a week and started having that problem with her hips. Her doctor had her quit yoga and in about 6 months her hips didn’t hurt anymore. She started yoga again and her hips started hurting. Just a thought. I am glad you have such great attention to detail too - I have found quiet a few things in existing posts at this new job that are wrong and some even so obvious I wonder who missed that? I can’t wait to see your cluster earrings.

@missy yay for going cycling. It would be nice to relax like the kitties; of course your sweet kitties know they have it made! LOL - I do seem to do better when I am busy. Love the deer pictures. Yes we do need to play the lotto to win. I have to pick up more tickets myself but I have another $5 to cash in. Woo hoo - we are closing in on $50 sometime soon. Oh no to pulling your groin muscle - that is so painful too. I hope it didn’t bother you on your hike today.

@canuk-gal it is very understandable to become teary at times; big hugs to you and those tears can be a relief. I doubt we ever get past those triggers. I am keeping you in my thoughts. Glad work is a good distraction for you.

I ran errands Friday afternoon. We needed groceries, I had banking chores and had to go check on Marty’s missing license plate for the pickup. It was stolen off the front of his pickup and we reported it and ordered a replacement in September. We didn’t realize it hadn’t shown up yet until we got the stickers to renew my plates. Apparently the auto title office never received the new plates but luckily found our order so will order it again. Then I ran out to the cemetery and got home in time to get most of my laundry done.

Yesterday we ate out for breakfast and wandered around a few stores. I need new clothes so was looking for discounted sweaters and pants but didn’t find anything I wanted. Darn. After that we spent the day watching a few movies and doing things around the house.

Today I got up before 6 and did a few things for me new job and think I’ll go do my Monday lifting today because I’m cold already so why not?

Have a great day.
Marcy

Hi:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weather has turned stinky--squall's , major wind and cool temps. We were driving and it looked like Styrofoam was coming from the sky. LOL. Then sunshine. Whatev's. Spring in the mountains!

Had a fun day yesterday--we went downtown to poke around the shops and have happy hour at a swank steak house. Family GTG. Shopping and happy hour--the best! Been a long time since we did that!! And no I didn't buy anything from Bvlgari--howsoever I was tempted!!!! @MamaBee we are having Sunday supper as well. I'll cook beef as well.

MY DH is going to pick up our taxes. I expect a lot of swearing and broodiness for the rest of the day. We always pay!!!

@marcy you seem to be working very hard for a retired person!! I got some Lotto tickets...

@missy hope your groin is OK. Gosh that is a funny thing to say....LOL

@mrs-b hope good news comes your way tomorrow!

Stay safe and well folks!!!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

I’d send you some of our lovely sunshine if I could @canuk-gal, the weather is a perfect 75-80 degs F here. Sounds like you had a lovely day out yesterday, just what you need ATM.

Sounds like a great plan @mrs-b, keeping everything crossed that your exercise regime helps keeps things stable enough to avoid major surgery. That’s good news that your back has been relatively OK now, so onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed for a successful and production appt tomorrow

Your afghan is looking great @marcy, do you have much more to do? Wow you‘ve had a busy time with all the running around. Marty’s plate saga sounds like mine, no one at the DPS told me they had them until I rang to enquire where they were!

Happy birthday to your DS @MamaBee, it’s great that you’ve got the family trip to look forward, these last couple of years have been the absolute pits, and we all need something to cheer us up. Have they finished the work at the house yet so you can market it?

Woohoo to a good day’s cycling and hiking @missy, and oy to straining your groin :shifty: Isn’t that something that professional footballers get (soccer)? I love seeing your photos, especially the beautiful deer. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned that we often see lots of deer on the back road up to the house, fortunately they’re safely behind deer fences and often get skittish if a car goes by quickly.

Colin and I went out for lunch on Friday, it was so lovely out, we ate al fresco!

We’ve been FT with friends yesterday and today, and honestly, spent so much time talking, half a day whizzed by. We popped up to the house, and were surprised to see them working on the wood floors, so couldn‘t go in, and when we went up this afternoon, most of it’s been done and covered, so we still couldn‘t go in  We did check in the garage and the silver birch flooring we chose, is, yes, you’ve guessed, brown! Hopefully when it’s fully uncovered and cleaned, it will be fine, at this stage, I’m losing the will to live, and just want it done with. I know exactly how @Tekate felt!

The weekly report says that the plumbing should be going in this week, the flooring finished, and the appliances installed. Plus they’ve plastered the ‘skirt’ of the house under the stonework, and they’re going to grade the front and sides ready for landscaping. It’s hard to see that it’s going to be too much longer before it’s ready. Finally beginning to feel we’re on the home stretch now.

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

Good luck today @mrs-b!!!
I am thinking of you and hoping it goes well!!!

Big hugs and much love!!!

GM girls! Happy Marvelous Monday!
Wow the weekend always goes so fast.
I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely weekend.

@marcy woohoo $5. Every little bit counts. And yes our kitties do have it made lol. Wow to Marty's license plate being stolen back in Sept. I forgot about that. Hope you get the replacement soon. Glad you got errands done before the weekend. They always seem to need doing don't they. As soon as we go food shopping bam we need food again. LOL. I don't generally mind it but when the weather gets to be so nice the last thing I want to do is waste time running errands. Have a good Monday Marcy. And my groin is better thanks for asking.

@canuk-gal thanks for the groin wishes. It feels fine today. It didn't stop me from hiking and doing the treadmill and weights thank goodness. This getting older is really not for the weak haha. Glad you enjoyed downtown shopping and a family GTG with steak dinner. Sounds like a really lovely time and I am glad you got to enjoy your family. We did our taxes last month. Ouch. LOL. Have a good Monday sweet Sharon and be well.

@Austina soon, very soon you can be free of all of this aggravation with plastering, plumbing, painting, flooring, etc. Soon! Glad you enjoyed a wonderful FT with friends. Isn't it funny how that feels normal now. When just a few years ago we couldn't have imagined life the way it is now. Strange. But luckily we have options to keep us close to loved ones. Haha yes well I get all the possible injuries one can...Greg likes to say it's because I lead an interesting and active life. And that is true. I wouldn't have it any other way. Being active brings me joy and peace and one of the reasons I am struggling so with this medication decision. Should I fracture life would change as I know it. But this med has potential adverse effects that can be quite awful. And there is no guarantee it would help prevent fractures. Just the hope. So it is quite the conundrum. I do not want to look back on this and regret my decision. Yet I am no closer to a decision than I was a month ago. One day at a time. But I must decide. Happy Monday grandma to be!

@Tekate dear Great Kate hope all is well. Big hugs and much love.

@bling_dream19 girl I am thinking of you and wishing so many good wishes and healing vibes. Lots of love.

@Slick1 Monday again! Oy to the vey. Hope you have an excellent week.

@MamaBee hope Chris enjoyed a great birthday yesterday. And you are recovered. LOL. Have a good Monday.

@springerspaniel thinking of you and hoping things are going smoothly.

Hi to everyone else. Beautiful day today but cold so not sure what we are doing. Maybe cycling but more probably hiking. I have a zoom call later so the day is a bit abbreviated. Enjoy a marvelous Monday girls. Big hugs to each of you. XOXO.

Leaving you with my sweet niece practicing floor exercises. She is on the team. They are growing so fast.

Haha note the sign. My sister the rebel.

Happy Monday! XOXO.

Well, as Missy would say - oy to the vey....

My temp is going up and I'm completely blocked up. Took a covid test - negative - but I feel like crap and my temp, which normally sits very low (high 96's up to 97.2 at the warmest) is now closing in on 100. Called my gyn-oncologist's office and they said they'd prefer it if I rescheduled. So I did. So now I have to go into Boston on April 20th for my manometry, and on the 21st - to have the tube removed, and the 22nd as well - for my 6 monthly CA check. So that should be a happy week. *sigh*

Also, have twinged my back, so not currently having a lot of fun. Hoping all of this resolves very soon.

On the up side, gorgeous weather today - clear, blue and 62 degrees. If I felt better, I'd go out for a short walk, but I don't see it happening today. I've been doing short walks every day, but yesterday when this was starting to hit I went just for a 20 minute walk, and it felt like a stretch. So today might have to be a pass.

@missy - your niece looks fabulous! What beautiful movement! And here's something I don't say to people very often...how is your groin?? Your beach photos are just unbelievable recently - the colors...the water...the waves...the foam... I envy you more than I can say but feel as tho you're living that life for the both of us! ox

@bling_dream19 - hoping your day goes well and your appt gives you what you're looking for.

@Austina - great progress on the house - and yay to al fresco eating! We al fresco here in MA once it hits the 60's! Still wearing sweaters here, but hopefully only for a few more weeks, then shorts and t-shirts here we come!

@canuk-gal - I do agree with you to an extent; having my insurance declined has taken the decision out of my hand, so that's perhaps not a bad thing. I'm only 61, tho, so the time will come when I have no option, and it will be interesting to see how we progress from there. Your day at the shops + happy hour sounded lovely. How did the taxes go?

@marcy - I was *really* interested to read your comments re yoga as I've been starting to think along those lines myself! I did a couple of classes last week - Monday and Friday - and, sure enough, on Saturday things started to feel a bit wobbly, achy on Sunday, then today - sharp nerve pain. I love gentle yoga, but I'm really starting to think I might need to give it a miss. Blah. I'm going to end up having to live my life sitting on my sofa, wrapped in bubble wrap! And you sound like you're working VERY hard! So much for retirement! Just so long as you're doing what you want to do.

@MamaBee - how did the pot roast go? I LOVE pot roast! I'm not sure if I've ever said this here, but Tim's family used to own one of the largest beef exporting companies in Australia. When his dad retired, they sold it to the largest Australian beef company, providing them with an all-organic arm to their company, which was the specialty for the family business. When they retired, they spoke regularly at conferences, teaching beef growers how to manage the waterways on their farms in an environmentally friendly way, restoring trees and conserving water, etc. They were industry ground breakers when they pioneered grass-fed beef, and they provided beef for all the best restaurants in Australia, and a number of Michelin star restaurants around the world. When Tim and I got married, we were as poor as church mice. We were full time students and we lived on his academic scholarship from his future employer and my part time work as a cleaner. We took zero money (sort of) from our respective families, wanting to 'do it on our own'. which used to send my mother, for example, insane. To that end, we were the only couple I ever met who used to receive whole, grade A beef fillets for Christmas and birthdays! When I say we 'sort of' did it on our own - we used to live in a small apartment my father owned and paid $75 a week in rent - so that was pretty awesome. Tim also used to do computer work for his dad a few weeks every year, and his father always paid him 2k / week. So there were obviously perks. University education in Australia was also government funded. Tim's was 100% covered by his scholarship, with a small living stipend, and mine wasn't more than about $1200 a year. We used to live on 10k a year, and when Tim graduated and we leapt to 22k a year, we felt soooo luxurious! It was a difficult, but very happy life for us in the early days. :))

Anyhoo, about to lay down and try to clear my head, which feels like it has a duvet shoved up my nose! Not good.

Love to you all!

And my apologies for putting my face all over the place, but I don't know how to black stuff out.

'm going to end up having to live my life sitting on my sofa, wrapped in bubble wrap!

But what sparkly and classy bubble wrap it will be, @mrs-b!

So sorry to hear about your fever and upper respiratory symptoms, plus back pain and delayed manometry and CA follow up.

But meanwhile, you get to play with those stupendous clusters!! I love them so much and am so glad you went with the better diamonds.

Hi to all the NIRDIs!! Four more days of this, then I actually move on to my new job. Really. I promise. I don't even have to pee in a cup for them again. I am so psyched!! Also, along the lines of @mrs-b's statement about celebrating the day she met Tim as a more meaningful day than a wedding day, David and I met 20 years ago this Friday. Third time's the charm, eh?

@mrs-b those are gorgeous and are a perfect match to your ring. Sweet!!!!

Hi NIRDI’s!

@canuk-gal yay for getting some lotto tickets. I might venture out myself today. Darn your weather turned stinky. We are windy again and might get some snow but mostly they are predicting it more in the mountains. Shopping and happy hour sounds like a lot of fun. When I was driving around last Friday I almost stopped at my friend’s house to say “wine me”. But knowing us that would have been the end of my day and Marty would have to pick up on his way home from the gym.

@Austina 75-80 does sound like perfect weather. Yes, I remember your plate saga and thanks for reminding me - they didn’t call me today to “assure” me the plates were ordered. I have one more skein to knit in my afghan, I almost finished the 4th skein last night but didn’t quite make it. They are 7 ounces so they are pretty big skeins. That would be about 14 more inches. Then I have to test it on Marty to make sure it’s long enough for him. I am so sorry the stuff you picked out for the house either isn’t what you end up with or wasn’t the color you expected. But please don’t give up the will to live. You’ve got us and BLING!! Hopefully this home stretch goes fast and smoothly.

@missy I know - those $5 can add up. Not to buy a diamond bracelet from Tiffanys but hey we can dream. I agree on the grocery shopping, I can often go back after I take care of everything because I either forgot something or find another thing we need. The good news is my knees are so much better from lifting I can go back to the store without any problems. Yay. Glad to hear your groin is better; I pulled that muscle in ballet one time and it reminded me of it for months upon occasion. Your nieces are amazing! Love the tree picture with the gorgeous ocean behind it.

@mrs-b oh no your temperature is going up and you feel bad. I hope that clears up like NOW! Yay for clear, blue skies and warm weather. About yoga - when my employee went back to yoga after getting her muscles healed she started having trouble again and I asked Marty just because he took all sorts of therapy and anatomy classes to get certified to be a strength trainer and that is exactly what he said. I don’t want to come across as a know-it-all but it does make sense. I can taste those grade A beef filets now. I totally enjoyed about your early life with Tim. Kind of reminds me of our early days. Marty was fired from his job 3 months before our wedding. He was hourly and they wanted him to work more than 40 hours but would only pay him for 40 hours no matter what he worked. He said he’d work the extra time but wanted to be paid for it - they fired him. He was also in the army guard at the time so no matter who he interviewed with for a new job they would tell him to come back and see them after his 2 week annual training which was in June. The army guard was really good about having him work extra hours during the week but we were living for months on my income only which wasn’t much above minimum wage. The class I taught at the college then was only 2 credit hours so it wasn’t much income either. I put a $100 bill up for emergency and luckily never had to use it - but it helped me feel better knowing I had it. We printed out revised wedding invitations on our dot matrix printer because we had to change our reception from a luncheon to coffee, cake and punch. At our wedding a friend on mine offered Marty a part time job with the state so we cut short our honeymoon so he could go to work on Monday. Out honeymoon was a 1 day trip to my parent’s mountain cabin. His grandparents bought us an old, small trailer that we paid them back for and we often had to raid our small piggy bank to buy taco Tuesdays. But like you and Tim; life was happy and good for us then. I asked my mom later what she thought of me marrying an unemployed guy but she said she knew Marty would take care of me.

@springerspaniel yay for 4 more days and not having to pee in a cup! I don’t know which I’d be more excited about either. Happy 20 year anniversary of meeting David.

Yes I am very busy. I put in 5 hours today and did manage to cook lunch for us. They asked me to get a picture and write a bio for my posts so I guess they aren’t going to fire me yet. I did a few small things today then worked on one post that took me a long time to research info in spite of the fact I had printed out some info already the other day. Oh well, it keeps me from reminding myself how lame I am at playing Angry Birds. Ha Ha.

It’s windy here again today but I don’t think it’s as bad as last week. I guess I will confirm that on my way to the mailbox.

Take care.
