@marcy, thanks so much for checking in, been thinking about you - sorry there's more waiting involved but I'm glad the doctor is feeling optimistic. Sorry about probably needing surgery but we are all here for you!! OX
@junebug17 enjoy meeting up with some friends for lunch this weekend. I hope you are having lovely fall weather there. Thank you for the support with my drama and angst this week. I appreciate it.
@Austina thank you for the comforting thoughts about missing the funeral. I know they understand and I appreciate your kind words. Wow, that stinks it is taking so long to get in parts to fix your beautiful new car. I hope they come in soon. I called today to get my 20K maintenance and they can’t get me in until November 30th. Wow! I guess they have hardly any new cars to sell so everyone is having their cars repaired and updated. How fun going for a walk with your neighbor and scoping out new homes being built in the area. We were busy doing that the first few years here too.
Thank you @Jemi - I will tell Marty and I appreciate you thinking of us.
@missy thank you for your understanding words. I told Marty and his sister today - this has been a very challenging week for all of us. Yay for getting out there cycling today. Marty said it finally quit raining in Virginia too. I hope the backup doctors are better for you. Sadly, it seems like most the doctors I’ve seen are the same. Okay but not knocking my socks off. I kind of hate to switch until everything is resolved because I don’t want to start over again. Beautiful pictures from the nursery. I will look forward to seeing Fat Albert. Our tree out front is named Marge. For a long time it looked like Marge Simpson’s hair. It has filled out nicely though - just all and thin.
@mrs-b you look beautiful. You haircut looks great. Glad you and Tim are doing better and went out and about. Oh no you both and had a coughing attack, I hope that is better today.
I went out and ate lunch, brought home a piece of apple pie for supper. I am sure it’s not as good as Greg’s apple pie, but it will do.
I, of course, googled everything on my test results. It still sounds like cancer hasn’t been ruled out yet, but less likely or in an advanced stage. I need to start making notes for questions between now and when the doctor calls me with the follow up test results. I do have other nodules in the left side of the thyroid but not nearly as large. They weren’t solid in the ultrasound either. I assume, that’s something I’ll need monitored from here on.
I didn’t even go back to work. I’m retired for the day. Ha!
Thank you @junebug17. I already have a scar on my neck so one more won't be a big deal. It's funny that I didn't pay much attention to how my throat felt or swallowing. Once I know it's there, I notice it all the time. I should quit poking on it too. No one accused me of being smart. Ha Ha.
@marcy--too bad you have to wait for more results--but hoping the news is all good. You have a lot on your plate and your DH will be needing your support when he is home. Take care of yourself.
@missy I saw a little girl wearing candy korn leggings and thought of you! She was adorable with her Dad picking out pumpkins--wearing a sparkly pumpkin frock! And I love fatty fat fat trees! That was the shape I always sought in a fresh Christmas tree.
@MamaBee I found some orange lights today at the drugstore! Except they were like a curtain (multiple strand) and I have no where to put that. But I was tempted!!!!
@Jemi So lovely to hear from you! I hope you are well. Tell us all that is fit to print.
@mrs-b I hope your sore throat and Tim's coughing stops directly! Your hair looks lovely!
@Austina I had to look up what that pool stuff was you referred to. Glad that is progressing and at this rate your pool will be done before your car is fixed!
Did errands today--and rode to the market. I let my DH wear the super heavy back pack with groceries! LOL. That's OK as I fixed his bike chain. Good trade off. Work was OK--lots going on and too much office politics. Gives me a frightful head and neck ache. Anyway.
I am sorry the biopsy was inconlusive and hope you get peace of mind very soon. I am keeping good thoughts for you @marcy. Keeping you and Marty and his family in my thoughts. Big hugs
@canuk-gal aww thank you lol. Sometimes I think am I too old for these? And then I saw nawww. Cause you are only as old as you feel and I still feel like I am in my 30s. And that's OK. LOL. And TBT I still don't feel like a real adult whatever that means haha. Nice job fixing your DH's bike chain. You go girl. And yes let the man do the heavy lifting. Maybe I am old fashioned but that's their job. As I see it anyway lol. Chivalry is not dead and as long as I am around I appreciate that.
@mrs-b you look beautiful in every single picture you share. Truth. Your inner glow and true beauty shines through. How are you feeling today? How's Tim? And OMG my experience with the gyn was a doozy. I told the girls last night and they were aghast and told me I cannot see him again. My concern is what if I cannot find anyone decent? Anyway you cannot make this stuff up. I'll share when we chat. Big hugs and healing vibes.
@bling_dream19 dear girl how are you feeling? Sending you many continued well wishes and big hugs. Happy FriYAY. Only second to Caturday Saturday lol.
@Austina how is your sweet granddaughter doing? I hope you and Colin are having the time of your lives. Any weekend plans? Big hugs
@MamaBee any other contenders so far? Keeping good thoughts. You'll find your dream house soon. Big hugs
@Slickk hope you have fun plans for this coming weekend and all is going well. Autumn leaves are falling already fast and furious and lots of leaves changing colors. Feels early to me but probably has to do with the past drought we had. Which after almost 4" of rain I believe we are finally over with and done. Woohoo. Have a great FriYAY. Big hugs
@junebug17 hope you are having a good week and looking forward to seeing your friends this weekend. Be well
We had a great cycling day..only two more rides til we hit 7K. We got a bit delayed getting to that milestone due to the past 5 days of rain but we are back. Til it's too rainy or snowy or cold to ride. It was a busy day as usual. Cycling, zoom call and then before I knew it the day was over.
I took lots of photos because there was so much beauty around. Baby heron in the first two photos.
And the rest are self explanatory. Only sharing a few since I don't know if others share my love of wildlife photos. Enjoy!
Unphased by us. Love that. And they love having the place to themselves. People for the most part are gone for the rest of the year woohoo. Peace and quiet in abundance.
And of course our sweet delightful treat.
Looking forward to another beautiful cycling day today. May whatever you do today be enjoyable and may you be immersed completely in the activity. The definition of happiness I believe. Be well and be good and have fun. Sending my love and lots of hugs to each and everyone of you. XOXO
@marcy - just wanted to touch base to let you know that my thoughts are with you and Marty today. Sending warm thoughts your way.
As for your biopsy, I hope they get you something concrete soon and get a treatment plan in place. How are you feeling within yourself? Praying for strength and peace as you overcome this life hurdle.
On a much, much smaller note - Tim and I both definitely have Paxlovid rebound. Feeling lousy and 5 more days of isolation. Both still testing covid positive; the RAT test results are coming up darker and faster than they have up till now, so things are obviously not much better. 8 days till Tim is supposed to be going to Australia. Prayers appreciated.
The weather here is stunning! 23 C today and not a cloud in the sky! We had a delightful ride, then a delish lunch out, and I tried on 5 gorgeous Smythe jackets. I wanted them ALL! (not greedy at all, LOL) I also need some need new short boots--my favs are worn out. I have my eye on two pairs.......
Hi girls! Sorry I’ve been out of commission. Crazy busy days! No house yet!
@marcy I hope they just destroy your thyroid like they did mine. They couldn’t get a conclusive result from my biopsy either. I don’t know if it’s a possibility for you..but destroying the thyroid was the route they put me on. It wasn’t bad at all. I had a huge lump on the front of my neck.
My heart goes out to you about your feeling that you’re not there with Marty. You have to take care of yourself first. I’m glad you decided to go to your appointment and not go to the funeral. I’m sure Marty understands. Big hugs..Huge.. @mrs-b I’m so sorry you got a rebound after Paxlovid. My doctor’s nurse said she wouldn‘t take it because they’re seeing so many rebound infections. Are you and Tim getting milder symptoms? I hope you feel better soon..
I‘m seeing my mom tomorrow..After that I will come home to pack for another trip back to the Maryland house. I’ll drive there with David on Sunday. The roof is being done in Pa on Monday..but all the noise will bother David..so I’ll drive us to Maryland. S will stay behind to be here in Pa..for the new roof. I’m going to get some service visits done there in Maryland on Tuesday. I’ll get the irrigation system winterized..and the heating system checked out for the season. Monday night I’m taking David on a date to dinner. One of the restaurants there has an outdoor seating arrangement that’s reality nice. We’ll have a nice quiet dinner..I always did a one on one date with my boys when they were little..David is looking forward to it..as am I..
Big hugs to everyone. I hope to be able to catch up on Monday..XOXO
Edited to say I missed that you will probably need surgery @marcy. I also had surgery on a thyroglossal duct cyst. They did a Sistrunk operation. The recovery wasn’t bad..Make sure they put your neck and chin in a girdle to prevent swelling. It also makes it feel more comfortable. Big hugs again! @canuk-gal How was your Barium swallow? Was it today? My mind is going..Sorry! Big hugs to you too!
@canuk-gal Yummmmmmm! That’s such good news you are able to eat it! I‘m hoping it’s just irritation that’s giving you trouble swallowing...
I can’t eat any beef because of these darn braces! I‘m so jealous!
@canuk-gal yes! Greg’s planting it this morning as soon as the sun rises. Fat Albert is a beauty
Just took these 2 quick pics when it was delivered yesterday morning. It's on the very left of the screen
A closeup. The lighting makes some of it appear a weird color but I assure you he is very healthy. The hole next to it that Greg started digging. Needs more digging but almost ready for Albert.
I will share a photo when he is planted. Greg started digging the hole and the men delivered Fat Albert pretty early and then we went cycling. So he is being planted this morning.
Did you have your tests yet or is that today Sharon? Thinking good thoughts for you.
@mrs-b I am sending you both continued bucketloads of healing dust and lots of love. I hope Tim is well enough to go on his Australian trip and you are both fully recovered from Paxlovid rebound. IDK if you read the Coronavirus update thread but I shared a couple of articles stating it's better to take Paxlovid and experience the rebound than not take it. So I hope that brings you some comfort. (((Hugs)))
Good morning @MamaBee hope your new house makes itself known soon. In the meantime you won't be homeless. LOL
Happy weekedn
@bling_dream19 have a wonderful weekend. It's quite chilly here today. Brrrrrrrr and after yesterday's 80 F temp wow what a change.
@Slickk hey it's the weekend woohoo. Have a great time and enjoy.
Hi @marcy hope you are doing OK. Drop us a note when you are up to it. Continued well wishes being sent your way.
Hi everyone else. It was amazing yesterday. 80F and a soft wind. Well that is over and it is now freezing here. Not literally just figuratively. LOL. We are bundling up to go cycling today. And hopefully hitting 7K. I hope everyone has a fantastic Caturday Saturday...speaking of which:
He's looking at us as if to say, mom, dad, you went to Costco and you brought me home this new toy thank you. But where's my filet mignon?
Oh and we saw two Bucks yesterday in the middle of a very very busy area. They had wandered away from the park. Greg tried to get them to head back to it (a mile from the park) and he got them started but we aren't sure where they ended up. Just praying they got back safely. A man passed by and said to be careful as they can charge us but Greg was determined to try getting them back where they needed to go. Heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking. I have to block my mind from this or I cannot manage all my feelings of pain and deep sadness at what we have done to our wildlife.
OK I have to leave you with something more cheery. We always get to chat with our delightful friend who lives a few blocks away and she has the sweetest dog. We love seeing them and chatting almost every day.
LOL you can see Pythagorus in this photo. Photo bombing
I’m sorry @MamaBee, I hardly noticed the spider. Your home is so beautiful, warm and inviting, Looking out and seeing all trees makes me love it all the more. I know you love decorating and you are so good at it.
I’ve been thinking of you often the past few days @marcy. I hope you and Marty and doing ok and that Marty is back home with you soon. This has been a really tough week for you your family. I am so glad you went to your doctors appointment and know Marty’s family understood.
@mrs-b, I hope you and Tim are feeling better soon.
@canuk-gal, I’m sorry about the office politics. There are a lot of cute boots out this year. At least you found coats your love. That’s usually the hard part. I need to find a cute coat with a hood.
@junebug17, Have a great time with your friends today. I hope all is well with you and your family.
I hope everything went as well as it could have @marcy, and I’m sure the family knew you were there in spirit. I’m sorry the biopsy results weren’t totally all clear, but reason to be optimistic if the Dr thinks whatever it is can be surgically removed and is in the early stages. Of course, no one looks forward to surgery, but if that’s the cure, then better to get it over with. Good idea to write down any questions, it’s easy to forget in the moment otherwise. Take care.
Your hair looks great @mrs-b, but UGH to the paxlovid rebound. I hope both you and Tim get over this quickly so he can make his trip to Oz to see his parents. Life is constantly throwing obstacles your way, challenging doesn’t even begin to describe it!
UGH to office politics @canuk-gal, I hope you’re having a lovely relaxing weekend before you have to get back to it. Yep, seems likely the pool will be done before the car’s fixed.
Have a safe trip and enjoy your date night with David @MamaBee, that’s so sweet. Love Spidey, that’s the perfect place for him!
Bucks that big are capable of causing a lot of damage, so even if people didn’t care about them, they wouldn’t risk their cars @missy, so try not to worry too much. Love Pythagoras, I bet it gives people a chuckle when they see you ride by with him on the bike. Love the photos, and Fat Albert is looking right a home in your garden!
We spent a frustrating amount of time putting together a Keter garden storage box yesterday, it wasn’t complicated, just that the instructions were wrong. We spent ages looking for parts that weren’t included, and more importantly, weren’t even needed! By the time we’d finished, we were both hot and dehydrated, and didn’t feel very well for the rest of the day.
Not a lot going on this weekend, we’re FT friends tomorrow, and today I’m washing all our garden furniture cushion covers, they got filthy the other day when they were doing the gunite. Our fault, for not moving everything, even though they covered everything they could.
I’m going to start bagging Colin’s clothes tomorrow, I never leave things until the last minute!
Another splendid weather day--had a gorgeous ride. Living the weather dream! I made my cabbage rolls for TG dinner (tomorrow). I think I'll assemble the zucchini casserole tomorrow as I am worried the tomatoes may make it soggy if I do it now.
We picked up the ham and went to the french bakery. Line ups everywhere! I got the last pumpkin croissant with meringue! It was yummy!!!!
@Calliecake I don't clothes shop anymore cuz I have so much stuff already I don't wear! But I enjoyed it yesterday--I feel I might get at least one of the Smythe blazers. They such great pieces. And agreed--no shortage of cute boots out there!
Thank you all for the concern and kind words about Marty’s brother and my thyroid. Funny story - I found out today if I talk for about 2 hours, I get so hoarse I loose my voice. I am NOT telling Marty that info - he might enjoy that too much.
@canuk- gal I hope to get the second test results early this coming week but the doctor didn’t say how long the other test takes. It’s the same lab as the first test and they already have the samples. I will be glad to just know and figure out the next step. Sweet you fixed your DH’s chain on his bike. Nice DH carried the heavy backpack home with groceries. I went shopping myself today. We are having nice fall weather here too but did have a freeze last night. Which led to several pictures to Marty trying to figure out how to turn off our drip system on the flower pots. I love a good beef dip sandwich. They are hard to find though. So many of them are fatty. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow.
@missy love all your pictures from your outing. Looks fun! Funny, initially the inconclusive made me feel better, then it’s like but hey I have to wait longer now. Oh well, the knot in my stomach is finally gone. I know you understand the waiting on test results. You have that ongoing on the time. Yay for closing in on 7K soon. Fat Albert looks great! Pretty yard.
@mrs-b oh no for a relapse on the symptoms - I hope you and Tim are feeling way better soon and Tim can make his trip. Keeping you both in my thoughts and big hugs to you both. Also, thank you for asking how I am feeling. I am surprisingly calm about this now, I just want to find out what’s going on and what’s the plan.
@MamaBee thank you for the info about your thyroid and surgery. I have been probably reading too much about it all online. Sounds like the surgery isn’t that bad. I know this mass needs removed regardless. I met a friend for lunch today and got so hoarse just visiting with her for a few hours, I almost lost my voice. Marty will be thrilled if he can arrange that every day. Ha Ha. Nice to visit your mom. Have a safe trip to Maryland and the outdoor dinner with David sounds really nice.
@Calliecake thank you for checking on me and seeing if I am okay. I really appreciate it.
@Austina I need to jot down my questions when I think of them even if I am in bed. I forget them later. I guess they can operate on your thyroid three ways, through your ear, mouth of your neck. I think I’d opt for my neck. I already have a nasty scar from a botched surgery on three moles that were removed. Plus, I’d rather not risk messing up an ear or my mouth. It is obviously big enough to agitate swallowing and talking. I kind of notice I sound a little bronchial when I lay down too which is probably the same thing. Darn the garden storage box had such poor directions. I bet you were glad to get that project done. Marty build a telescope from a kit and had one step where he was sealing something with apoxy and gets to the bottom of the page where it says “but first”. It really made a mess. He hand to sand that piece off and start again. He said a few Gordon Ramsey words about that.
A good friend of mine came over to keep my company yesterday. She works from home so just brought her work computer over here. We played cards in between her calls and my articles. I ordered us in lunch and she was here until about 4 pm. When she was kicking my butt at cribbage I tried to tell her she was hurting my thyroid. Didn’t work though, she still beat me.
I got up early and went grocery shopping today, ran my car through a car wash and topped off the gas tank. I cruised by the cemetery, drove around the park looking at lovely fall leaves and met a friend for lunch.
I ate all sorts of things today I don’t usually eat. Started the day with homemade biscuits, had pizza for lunch and popcorn for supper.
One of my sisters stopped by with some food and flowers for us. I did eat one of her homemade dinner rolls but after she left I took the tray of frosted cinnamon rolls across the street to a family with several kids. Marty doesn’t eat sweets and I sure don’t need to eat them myself.
I hadn’t told either of my sisters about my thyroid so mentioned it to her while she was here. Naturally I thought I’d better call the other sister and let her know. I didn’t tell them because the one would freak out and the other one would give me the Spanish Inquisition. I know, no one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition, but I do from her. She’s nice but drives me crazy at times.
Tonight I watched Maverick again and had popcorn.
Marty flies home tomorrow. I pick him up at the local airport about 9 pm. Today I sent him a meme I made from a picture of his killer rabbit and a teddy bear. It said “we’re glad you’re coming home tomorrow. Marcy is high maintenance.’ He is worried about his sister. I guess she is really have survivor’s guilt. There is nothing anyone could have done to change what happened to their brother. I will try and talk her in to coming here for a while.
Good morning girls and happy Sunday! It's Greg's birthday and it's going to be a beautiful autumn day.
@marcy so glad you have had friends and family keeping you company during this difficult time. Sending you hugs and lots of love. And praying for a good result with your thyroid. As you know Greg had his thyroid removed January 2021. We are both keeping you in our thoughts. May Marty have a safe flight back home. I am sure you are both looking forward to being reunited.
@Austina thank you for that reminder. I am a softie when it comes to animals wild and domesticated and sometimes I need to be reminded they are wild animals. But still my heart goes out to them. What we have done to their habitat. Sigh. Enjoy your FT with friends today. Hugs
@Slickk hope you are having a terrific weekend and please hug Bear from me
@springerspaniel our tree is losing its leaves so early...I always think of you when we pass by it. Hope you are having a good weekend. Hugs
@bling_dream19 thinking of you and sending lots of hugs and love
@mrs-b how are you and Tim feeling this morning? I have a good feeling the trip next weekend can go as planned and keeping my fingers crossed for you
@canuk-gal woohoo for cycling. We hit 7K yesterday. Very pleased with that.
@MamaBee haha LOVE your halloween decorations. Happy halloween! They had the Zombie march here yesterday. It was great.
We had a great cycling day yesterday complete with furry babies, ice cream and friends sand and sea.
We spent some time with Milton, Jenny and Addie. OMG they are too precious
Life with animals brings such joy IMO
Milton is such a LOVE
And of course no cycling day is complete without ice cream...@mrs-b this is for you.
Hahaha look at this.
Milton's brother carries Milton around in a back pack and Milton LOVES it. Milton is such a love and joy. He really is the sweetest pup ever. And it feels like just yesterday he was truly a little baby. He grew up so fast.
And in honor of Greg's birthday here is a photo from a very long time ago. His mom made these jackets for the boys. But she didn't know how to make lapels so she skipped that haha.
A little bit older here...
And a couple of more recent photos of my sweet DH.
One of our outdoor outlet shopping expeditions this summer
Hope you enjoyed the retrospective of the birthday boy and happy Sunday!
I am busily studying for my first statistics mid-term on Thursday, so am stopping by briefly to check in, say hello, and send my love to you all.
Happy birthday to Greg, @missy! I know he is one of a kind and I am so very happy you two met.
@mrs-b I am so sorry to hear you had rebound COVID. I do hope you guys recover soon. Knowing you, I bet this has not slowed you down much, though!! (PS your hair really DOES look brilliant!)
@marcy my condolences to you and your family. I am thinking of you, especially as you navigate the murky waters of what is going on with your thyroid. I love your sense of humor!
Can't help myself--in addition to studying for the test, I've been learning to program more extensively in R and use a scientific calculator to prep for the in-class exam. Not to mention continuing the research projects I'm doing etc. Never have I gotten paid so little to do so much yet been so excited and inspired!
@missy loved the pictures of Greg over the years. Happy Birthday to Greg! I did not remember Greg had his thyroid removed, it seems quite common. Great pictures of sweet furbabies and Fat Albert. Is FA a blue spruce? It is a very nice tree. I was planning on getting a blue spruce to replace Marge, but she keeps coming back stronger every year. Yet, she looked completely dead until a few weeks after the other trees are already in bloom.
@springerspaniel good luck on your statistics tests. I remember that class well. Thank you for the well wishes and my sense of humor keeps me going. Have fun learning more on programming. Hopefully the future holds a more lucrative reward for all you do.
@canuk-gal glad you enjoyed more lovely weather and a nice ride. I grilled a little steak for lunch and it was really nice out then. Sunny and warm. Beef dips and peaches, I either like them or hate them - they have to be good.
Last night, I had popcorn for supper and watched Maverick again. I even sat in “Marty’s spot” on the couch because it’s a better view of the TV.
This morning, I did lots of laundry including washing and changing the sheets and tablecloth.
I pulled apart the flower arrangement my sister made for us because it was a bit tall and bushy for the two places I will use it. I cut off a few inches and left two roses out and it works perfect now.
I did work a few hours today. Marty is on the plane now and will get to Denver about 6 and fly on home about 8:30. I am still debating what to put on my sign to pick him up. Naturally, I am taking a rabbit and bear with me in the car to pick him up.
I told him I got so hoarse after talking for two hours. He wanted to know if my friend could come over and talk to me for a few hours before he gets home. I totally knew he’d say that.
@missy Please tell Greg I wish him a very Happy Birthday!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I just drove here (MD) from Pennsylvania..with David…S didn’t come because he has to be in Pa for the new roof.
I’m pooped so will see what mischief you all are into tomorrow..
I utterly LOVE trees. So it was a close run thing which I loved the most - the ice cream or the tree! When so many people here seem to be taking down their magnificent old trees, first thing *we* did when we moved here was plant 6 new ones - all of which will grow to a decent size. WHY a person who didn't like trees would want to live in New England is beyond me, but I cannot tell you how many people take them down because of 'the nuisance factor'. I find lower temps, cleaner air, higher rainfall, and sheer, flagrant beauty not a 'nuisance' at all! But there's just no understanding some people. The owners of a house around the corner took down 3 massive trees in the front of their property a couple of weeks ago - I swear, it reminded me precisely of that scene in Lord of The Rings - The Two Towers where Saruman denuded Isengard of its old, majestic trees. Tim and I normally walk past that house, but I just can't make myself any more. We walk in that direction, get to that house, and I turn around and go back the way I came, rather than walking past it. Beyond sad. Anyway, I Love your new little pine - may it grown long and healthy! And speaking of long life and health - happy birthday to the birthday boy!
@MamaBee - today we put up the most meager halloween decorations in the history of halloween decorations. It was just plain SAD! Your house, as always, looks stunning. If you have time, and you cared to, it would warm my heart to see more photos of your beautiful house. I'm desperate to buy a house on a larger lot, but I just don't see it happening. It's just too much work to move (I am *really* singing to the choir here, aren't I!!), and when you've settled in with as many doctors as what I have, the idea of starting again, medically speaking, is daunting. There are a LOT of jobs we want to do to this house, but one at a time over a few years seems manageable, compared to the unbridled circus which is moving! I take my hat off you you, MamaBee!!
@marcy - my thoughts have been with you all weekend. I was so pleased to hear you're feeling calm. When I had cancer, my doctors did a great job of not letting me spin out, and I was pretty unmoved through the whole thing. I pray this for you too - that the world around you stays peaceful and that you are handled by expert hands. And did you come up with a sign for meeting Marty? I was thinking something along the lines of "Just because I'm holding this sign doesn't mean I won't be talking your ear off in the car!" Did Marty tell you anything about how the funeral went? And how his brother's wife is handling things? This is my worst nightmare, so I'm sending out prayers for your BIL's wife.
@canuk-gal - I'm so glad you enjoyed your ride; what did you make for dinner? We had. lamb and vegetables stir-fry which was largely made out of leftovers. Just too tired these days to be more creative. I'm glad your weather is holding and I hope you can squeeze much joy out of fall before it gets too cold to be outside comfortably. And I hope the office politics die fast and silent!
@Austina - I'd love to see a photo of the pool with its gunite finish! Are you pleased with how it looks? And - any progress on plans for the landscaping? My gardener jokes that I'm putting both his boys through college. Tim also says I'm putting the gardener's boys through college - the difference being that Tim doesn't see anything funny about it! I need to just bite the bullet and do the pool and stop trying to avoid the inevitable, but I know it's going to tear up the garden so badly, I'm finding it hard to throw my heart over with it. And given that we also want to put on a dressing room, that will see the yard being torn up again - so every time I picture these multiple layers of destruction of a garden I've worked so hard to achieve, I end up losing my nerve and putting it all off another year. Unlike you, I have no problem putting things off! Thank you, tho, for the kind comments about my hair. My hair dresser is a wizard - but, sadly, I don't have her skills, so the day I see her is the best my hair ever looks. After that, it's all downhill till the next time I see her.
@springerspaniel - SO nice to hear from you! And I'm so glad your job is making you happy. What level of statistics are you studying? Is it an undergrad subject? Or something more advanced? And wishing you the very best of luck for your midterm this week - if you have a moment, do drop by on Friday to let us all know how you went. How are Freddy and Clyde?
It's after 11pm, so I need to go to bed. @Calliecake and @Jemi and @bling_dream19, I had hoped to respond to each of you individually as well, but I'm out of puff and want to post this before my computer consumes it, as it so often seems to do! I hope you're all doing well, tho - and you too, @Slickk - and I'm sending warm thoughts and friendly waves your way from Boston!
GM girls and happy (how did it get here so fast) marvelous Monday!
Thank you all for your sweet birthday wishes for Greg. I cannot believe the number because he is truly young at heart.
@mrs-b same, 100% same. We love trees. One of the reasons we love this area of the Jersey shore are there are tons of trees everywhere. Sand, sea and trees wherever the eye can see. And yes to cleaner air, cooler temps and al the wonderful things trees bring. We went to great lengths to save one of our 100 plus year old trees on the property last year. We called in the tree experts and they worked their magic and I am relieved to say he is doing wonderfully knock wood.
How are you and Tim doing ? I am keeping good thoughts for you both every day. Big hugs
@bling_dream19 aww thank you sweet friend. We had a wonderful day. Looking forward to catching up with you. XOXO
@Slickk hope your weekend was wonderful and you have a great week too. Happy Marvelous Monday sweet friend.
@springerspaniel that is the sweetest thing to say and thank you. I am glad you met your sweet DH too. I do believe in fate. I also don't think there was anyone as right for me as Greg is. I dated a lot of gems I really did but I never wanted to get married. They were all wonderful sweet kind guys and probably would have made great husbands. But not as great as Greg lol. Anyway I digress. I am so happy you are happy with work and just goes to show money means little as long as one has enough. I know my sister went into her field knowing she would never become rich and she does love what she does. That means a lot to your every day quality of life. Big hugs and thank you again.
@marcy thank you sweet friend. Yes FA is a blue spruce. I am happy Marge is doing well and may she continue to do well. We have another area on the property where we want to plant a tree and I forget what it is called but it has white flowers and is Japanese I think...lilac something? IDK. I'll have to ask Greg. He's the one with the green thumb lol. Hope your drive to the airport goes well today and Marty's flight is a good one. Sending you both gentle hugs
@MamaBee thank you, I hope the roof installation in PA went smoothly. Hugs
@canuk-gal thank you..I hope you are enjoying some cycling before the change in weather. Here we are hitting 70s F today. Crazy right? LOL. Have a marvelous Monday. XOXO
Hi to everyone else. Hope all is going smoothly. Today's another riding day woohoo. This is a big week for me as I have a repeat breast ultrasound (I am very nervous about that) on Thursday and an endocrinology appointment (Greg too) Wednesday. So we are getting the most we can out of this week before all the appointments. Have a marvelous Monday sweet ladies.
Jimmy put a candle on it and I brought this umbrella but I didn't get great pics just because we were drawing attention and the wind kept blowing out the candle lol. Jimmy said g-d was blowing the candle out haha.
Leaving you with a tranquil photo from our ride yesterday. It was a purrrfect birthday and the weather cooperated.
Wishing you a marvelous Monday my sweet friends. Enjoy and be well. (((Hugs)))
