Now I really did it :((

Happy Monday Lovelies

Here you go @mrs-b, after initially feeling worried that the pool looked small from just the marking out, we’re now happy that it’s going to be the perfect size.

Colin is busy ‘watering’ it 3 times a day to stop it drying out too quickly. Apparently you can‘t over water the gunite. We’re not even thinking about the landscaping until it’s all done, especially as the winter is the best time to plant, so probably January time we’ll start on that. Are you and Tim feeling back to normal now?

I hope Greg had a lovely birthday @missy, you know what they say, a man is only as old as the woman he feels! Lovely photos, and I’m so glad you’re able to get out and ride again after the bad weather, especially as there are more medical appts on the calendar for you both.

I hope Marty made it home safely @marcy, it’s certainly draining having to deal with something like this. I’m glad you‘ve had company while he’s been away, and you’ve been dealing with your test results. It does help to keep busy, and it sounds as though you certainly have. You know you’ve been married a long time when you can totally predict what your partner is going to say!

Hi @springerspaniel, wow, you’re a busy bee with all your studying, I just don‘t think I’d have the patience to do that anymore, so I’m glad that you’re excited and enjoying it. I hope the punsters are doing well. Wishing you every success.

Woohoo to good weather and getting out to enjoy it @canuk-gal.

We had a change of plans yesterday. Our neighbour called round on Saturday, and she was feeling a bit down and overwhelmed by house issues that she’s dealing with. We ended up going out for lunch together yesterday, to a restaurant they like in Austin, and wandering around after lunch before coming back. We felt fine going, as they are very careful, so felt reassured with their choice. We didn’t end up speaking to our friends either, as something came up with them, so we’ve rescheduled for next Sunday. We’re FT the friends we’re going on the trip with this morning, lots to discuss, as it’s getting ever closer.

Have a great Monday lovely NIRDIs, sending you all love and hugs :wavey:

I LOVE your pool @Austina ♥️
It is the perfect size. Nice!

Hi NIRDI’s!

@MamaBee I hope you got a good night’s sleep.

@mrs-b I am with you on trees. I totally enjoy them and pretty much every one I see I think if it would be a great picture. Starting with new doctors and / or a new house would be a lot. When we moved in here we said we hope we are so stinking rich when we move out of here we can pay someone to do all the work for us. Looks like we’ll be here a while. Ha Ha. I am glad your doctor was able to help you spin out with your diagnosis. I have been told it’s c yet but then again I haven’t been told it’s not. I am trying to refrain from worrying about it until I know what I am dealing with and what I have to do. Thanks for thinking of me. I did not make up a sign for Marty but I did take the stuffed puppy and put him on the dash of the car looking towards the door. He was really worn out and frazzled. He did talk about the funeral and when they removed the tubes and incubator. That sounded awful. His sister is really struggling. His brother’s wife is doing as well as can be expected. She really puts away the alcohol so in general so I think she’ll really struggle. Their house isn’t in that good of shape and stinks of stale smoke. So, if she decides to sell it she’ll need to invest a lot of money or take a beating on it. I feel bad for her but will try to keep in touch with her. I worry about dealing with something like that as well. Are you and Tim feeling better? I sure hope so.

@missy FA is very pretty. The tree with white flowers sounds pretty. I love the pink trees that bloom in the spring. I picked up Marty at our local airport last night, so it was an easy drive. Way better than going to Denver. Good luck with your appointments this week. Apparently my doctor ordered two more tests for me. I have no idea why. Glad you put more miles on your bike and how cool Jimmy gave Greg some birthday ice cream.

@Austina your pool looks great! It does help to keep busy and as you know, I don’t seem to have a lack of things to do. Marty is glad to be home and I am delighted he is here. He is pretty worn out. Sounds like you had a nice time going out with your neighbor. Sorry they are frustrated with their house issues. I hope things go more smoothly for them soon.

I worked quite a bit today and ran a few errands. My IT finally got our email working but he wasn’t happy doing it. As I told my friend, I am sure I was a ball of joy after my parents die. It’s hard to get back in to a routine.

I even grilled steaks for lunch and made us mashed potatoes. I saved 1/2 of it for my supper. Good plan.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy terrific Tuesday!

@Austina I am glad you enjoyed lunch out with friends (hope their house issues go smoothly from hereon in and I know you know how that goes) in Austin and the pool looks like it is going to be amazing. You will appreciate that come summer. Or Spring given how hot it can be in Texas at that time of year. And I hope your rescheduled FT call with friends goes well. Hugs

@marcy glad Marty arrived home safe and sound. Nice dinner and even better saving some for the next day. I love leftovers. Good luck with your follow up testing. Fingers crossed it goes well. Hugs

@bling_dream19 thank you for sharing your happy update and it made my day. Sending you so many healing vibes and big hugs

@Slickk the Halloween decorations are out and they are pretty good lol. I love Halloween but during the pandemic I think we will leave candy out at the front door and hope everyone behaves and just takes their fair share. Have a good day at work and big hugs.

@MamaBee I have a feeling something good is coming your way soon...big hugs

@mrs-b hope you are feeling 100% and Tim is too

Hi everyone else. Another amazing cycling day yesterday. Today looks lovely as well. So going to enjoy it to the max. Have a wonderful day girls. Sending you hugs and love.

I will leave you with a Halloween decoration per day if I remember...

And we ran into Jenny and her momma again yesterday.

Jenny is not this friendly with everyone and lets only a few people pick her up...isn't this the sweetest?

Speaking of sweet...our sweet treat from yesterday.

Screen Shot 2022-10-11 at 6.39.13 AM.png

Enjoy a sweet Tuesday all. XOXO

@marcy - I'm so sorry for all you and Marty and his sister and sister in law are going through. I'm sending you the warmest of thoughts and will be thinking of you all Thursday as you have your follow up appt and get your full diagnosis, I believe? Hugs to you, my friend.

Not a great day for me, today. MRI yesterday, which was meant to be in and out in 20-25 minutes...and ended up taking 1 hour 40 minutes. Lots of pain today as a result and it will probably be a couple of days till I can leave the house and walk (more or less) normally. That hard, flat table is my Sword of Damocles, and I never seem to walk away unscathed.

@marcy - again - I'm thinking of you and particularly sending prayers for Marty's sister in law. oxo

Thinking of you dear @marcy and sending you and your family many prayers.

Hello lovelies

I’m so sorry Marty, his sister and SIL are having a difficult time right now @marcy. When Colin’s brother died of lung cancer, we helped his SIL fill in the numerous forms that were required at that time, and I know she appreciated the help. It’s not something any of us want to think about, despite the inevitability  I hope your tooth is behaving and you get some good news soon about your thyroid.

Oh no @mrs-b, it sounds like torture for you, I’m so sorry. How’re you both feeling, do you think the trip to Oz will go ahead?

Thanks @missy, we’re really looking forward to the pool being finished and usable, adding the pool heater will ensure we can use it all year round, but you’re right, it’s going to be especially great in the summer. Greg obviously has a natural affinity with dogs, they knew good people!

We had a great time catching up with our friends yesterday. They’re in the process of trying to sell their beautiful home and get ready for the trip. Unfortunately, awful neighbours are spoiling their enjoyment of their home, so they’ve decided to move on.

I haven’t been able to speak about this before, but our visit to see the baby was awful. Kim has moved her mother in for 4 months, and we were made to feel unwelcome and unwanted, and basically surplus to requirements now. As you can imagine, we’re both very upset about the situation, so in case you were wondering why I haven’t been gushing, that’s why.

Been and had our flu jab, I wouldn’t normally have one, but there’s a big outbreak here, and we can’t afford to get ill.

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

@Austina -

Thank you so much for asking - and to everyone who asked and asked as the days went by.

At Day 19 and Day 17 respectively, both Tim and I have just tested negative! Yaaaaaay! The trip to Australia is ON!!

And I am SO sorry about the situation with your grand-baby - that sounds really hurtful. And, can I just say, very much their loss! Sending you hugs and reaffirmation that you're going to be the best grandmother that baby could hope for! <3

Thank you @mrs-b, I appreciate your kind words. Hopefully, the situation will change, but for now, we'll just keep our distance.

@missy - thinking of you a lot this week as you have all your different med appts. Hugs to you!

Hey there everyone!

I'm so sorry the visit didn't go well @Austina, and that you and Colin were made to feel so unwelcome. This should be a happy time for you. I really hope it's something that can be resolved soon so you can enjoy this special time. Sending hugs and comfort.

The pool is looking great so far. It's going to be beautiful.

@mrs-b, great news that you and Tim are fully recovered and the trip can go ahead as planned!

@marcy, I'm keeping Marty, you, and his family in my thoughts. It's been a traumatic experience for everyone and the weeks following a loss are really hard. I'm also thinking of you and hoping for good news on your results.

@missy, love all the doggie pics, they are all so sweet. Your new tree is beautiful. It has such a pretty shape. I hope all your appointments go well this week.

@canuk-gal, I'm hoping your work week is going ok so far, ugh to office politics, that's just the worst. I hope the test you're having this week goes smoothly.

@MamaBee, I'm with Calliecake, your Halloween decos are cute but the first thing I noticed is your beautiful house! I hope you had a great dinner with David and your house appointments all went well.

@springerspaniel, it's great to see that you're feeling productive and inspired, and I'm sending you lots of positive vibes that you pass your test with flying colors!

Things are ok with me - one of my friends wasn't feeling well this past weekend (not covid thankfully) so we're getting together this weekend. The weather is supposed to be in the 70's. I don't have a light weight jacket so I ordered one online, it looks nice in the pics and hopefully it will look ok IRL haha. Not much else is new...I did get the bivalent booster on Monday, glad to have that over with.

Sorry if I missed something, did my best to catch up! Thinking of all the nirdis dealing with health and life situations, please take care!

GM girls and happy terrific Thursday!

Just a quick post as I have to leave soon

@Austina that is not OK. I am so sorry you and Colin are dealing with this and I hope somehow things can be straightened out. Maybe Adam and Kim can intervene. Anyway sending you big hugs and much love and hoping things get better

@bling_dream19 hope the week is going well and you are enjoying the sand, sea and all good things

@Slickk hope your work week is going well and tomorrow is friYAY woohoo

@MamaBee I scheduled our flu vaccines for later afternoon today but not sure. I will see how my appointment goes this morning. My endocrinologist offered it to us yesterday but he didn't have the preservative free vaccines. I hope our pharmacy does because if not I won't be getting the flu shot

@junebug17 hope your friend is feeling better and hope you enjoy a lovely visit with her this weekend. And it does look like it will be a lovely weather weekend

@canuk-gal hope you are enjoying wonderful weather. We cycled yesterday after my endo appointment and it was just wonderful

@mrs-b glad you and Tim are all better and testing negative. Woohoo good update and thank you for sharing

@springerspaniel our tree is losing leaves. I love autumn but don't love the shorter days and well I feel like our tree just got its leaves back. The time is going so quickly. Hope you have a good ady

Hi everyone else. Off for my ultrasound shortly. The endocrinologist yesterday gave me a nice compliment saying he has learned a lot from me. I was really touched. And it went as well as it could have but I think his tech messed up as she only took 7 tubes of blood. Which means tests were left out. I tried correcting it but she was insistent she did it right. Which means I will be asking my endocrinologist to send lab slips for the missing tests and I have to fast again, But it's OK.

We were cycling the past two days and the weather has been gorgeous. Just gorgeous. And of course seeing M and J each day makes our day :)

Have a wonderful day girls. Big hugs and much love.

Leaving you with a few photos

And since I forgot to share yesterday here's a photo of Milton and his brother cycling. The backpack idea works like a charm and Milton LOVES cycling with R. Super sweet. :kiss2:

And as promised one Halloween decoration per day so here is for the day I missed yesterday.

Have a non spooky not scary day girls! XOXO

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!

@missy that pumpkin flagpole picture is MY FAV! I want it!!!! I worked while my DH cycled today--it was glorious weather. Glad you guys got out. Keep it up!

@Austina your news was unsettling. A challenging situation with families, no? Hope things resolve very soon--as this can't be very happy for anyone.

@marcy hope you guys are OK and that your new results are of no consequence.

@junebug17 keep well!

Work is work. Getting busier and heavier--and I am thinking I am too old for this! I have my barium swallow tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, but not fearing it either. I haven't been feeling myself so I hope it sheds some light on my issues.

PS I have been watching Halloween silly shows. Just my style!

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

I hope the barium swallow goes well tomorrow @canuk-gal (in the UK they call it a barium meal o_O) Glad to hear you’re not fearing it, although I’m sure it’s not something pleasant, but hopefully it’ll give you some answers. I discovered a long time ago I was too old for work!

Fingers crossed the US went well today @missy (as well as these things can), and you get the all clear. Oh no to thinking the endocrinologist has messed up, I suppose you’ll know soon enough when you get the results. Yay to great cycling weather, it’s been lovely here today, finally some cooler temperatures, which is just perfect. Love the doggie photos, how cute is Milton enjoying his ride in style.

Glad you got your booster @junebug17 and haven’t had any ill effects. Nice to be catching up with your friend this weekend, hopefully she’ll be fully covered.

Thinking of you @marcy, and hoping you’re all doing OK.

Thank you for all the kind words, it was Kim who made us feel really unwelcome and uncomfortable. It was pretty obvious she didn’t really want us to hold the baby, hovering and saying don’t do this, and don’t do that. Honestly, we couldn’t wait to leave. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. We’re actually now quarantining before the trip, so won’t be visiting anytime soon anyway.

Went out to do our food shopping, stocked up on lots of things, so any shopping trips, will be a very quick in and out.

Managed to get some cute things for our friends daughter who’s having a boy in February. We’ll take it with us, as we’re seeing them when we get to England.

How on earth is it Friday again tomorrow?

Big love and hugs to you all :wavey:

GM girls and happy FriYAY!

@canuk-gal yassss, ride on...we are looking forward to a lovely cycling day today.

@mrs-b woohoo so happy Tim's trip is back on...hope you are both feeling well

@Austina thank you. My ultrasound went well and all is good. Seeing them in 6 months for my annual mammogram and breast sonogram. I am really sorry to hear it's Kim. Maybe she is going through a post partum depression? Changing her whole being for now. I am sure it will be resolved but in the meantime it is hurtful and I am very sorry you are going through this. I cannot imagine better in laws than you and Colin. Truth. Sending you hugs and good wishes and hoping for a happy conclusion to a difficult time.

@bling_dream19 all is clear. I will text you later. Hope all is going smoothly and your week has been a relaxing one enjoying all the great things the beach has to offer

@junebug17 enjoy a lovely weekend

@Slickk yay it's Friday. Hope you have a fun weekend planned

@MamaBee We got the flu vaccine yesterday and so far no side effects. Crazy.

Hi everyone else. It was a busy day. Sonogram at Columbia (tech took me early which never happens) and we went home, I worked out; Greg went to Costco while I was working out; then we went to a further Garden Center than the one from last time. We picked out a white Magnolia tree plus we got three small shrubs called golden euonymus. We love them and they are being delivered today. Very excited for these.

This weekend on Sunday we might see my parents. We haven't seen them since Mother's Day so we are overdue. Stupid pandemic. And Bobby has been sick with a cold for about a week. He started sneezing blood so I am now giving him Zeniquin as directed by my sister his veterinarian. Today is day 4. Fingers crossed he gets better soon. I hate it when the cats are sick. A week and a half ago Tommy stopped eating but fortunately we gave him Cerenia and Remeron and a day later he started eating again. It's always something with the cats. And with us lol.

Have a great day girls. Be well. Enjoy. ((((Hugs))))

Morning drive to Columbia

Pretty empty waiting room at 7:30AM
Screen Shot 2022-10-14 at 6.49.22 AM.png

And during the afternoon garden center then Trader Joe's. And oh my goodness the leaves are changing everywhere very early this year due to the dry conditions we experienced. So beautiful

autumntreeleaves.png

And leaving you with our promised daily Halloween decoration. Hope you enjoy.

@marcy - did you have your follow-up appt? Any information come from that? And any plan on how to proceed? I'm thinking of you and Marty daily. ox

@missy - glad the US was clear - or at least no change. We need a phone chat so you can catch me up on details! I hope you have a wonderful FriYAY, AG!

@canuk-gal - how was the barium swallow? And how are you feeling, in general? Have the symptoms subsided and when do you get your results? Hoping all is well.

@Austina - I am genuinely hurt for you. I feel like you and Colin have upended your lives to be closer to family, so I'm hoping the people involved see that and honor it. I *do* understand a new mother thinking "This is the most precious thing I will EVER own - nobody touches it except me!" - but you can still be like that, while also being welcoming at the same time. And I can't for one second imagine you not respecting a person's need for space and possessiveness (young mothers *need* to be possessive - I get that). Hopefully soon the fog will lift for Kim and she'll see you both for the asset you are and unclench her grip a little. And just to add - the pool looks wonderful!

@junebug17 - well done on getting the booster! I keep wondering, if Tim and I had been able to get it when we tried, if we'd have gotten covid at all. We'll never know, I suppose. I hope you have a lovely delayed visit with your friend. :))

Tim and I are feeling well, covid-wise, but my back/hip/leg is pretty excruciating post MRI. I had to spend the entire day off it yesterday and, even then, needed to stay fairly pumped up with drugs. Roll on, October 24th when I have my appt with the new surgeon.

Love and hugs to you all and to everyone else I didn't mention. I hope you're all enjoying fall!

And @MamaBee - if you feel inclined to take a few shots of your garden in PA in the fall, I would LOVE that; I think your house and garden are magnificent!

NIRDI shoutout!

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!

@Austina thinking of you and your family. Hope your quarantine isn't unbearable. Soon you'll have a nice holiday.

A barium meal indeed! Not insufferable but gross!!! The worst for me was the tilt table--it is clear I have vestibular issues--as I was very dizzy when they tilted me up and down (this happened recently in the dental chair...). I told my GP about this and he said "textbook/classic" symptoms...so I've booked with a vestibular physio. My GP thought it might stem from great neck tension--and I can corroborate this--from work hunching over the computer and poor posture here at home on the computer.

I'm on my second cup of coffee as I had to fast for 12 hours! Off to a nice lunch soon.

No cycling today.

cheers--Sharon

HIL

LOLS. Went to Zara today--got two great blazers 129 bucks x 2! Saved myself 1300 bucks not buying the others!! Who knew?

cheers--Sharon

GM girls, happy Caturday Saturday and just a quick hello as I woke up late after a fitful night

@canuk-gal glad you are done with the Barium swallow and on the way to relief hopefully now you are closer to a diagnosis.
No cycling for us either as our frame broke. Yup. Late fri afternoon so everyone was closed and only the dealer can see if we can get a new frame as the manufacturer wouldn't talk to us. Only the dealer. It's going to be a while til we are back on the road. But that's OK. Stuff happens.

@mrs-b yes we need to catch up via phone. Have a wonderful weekend and may Tim have a safe journey.

@bling_dream19 glad yesterday went smoothly and we will catch up soon. Darn it would have been great if you had come to NJ

@Slickk happy weekend.

Hi everyone else. We are off to my favorite antique jewelry place today in one of my favorite towns. I think it's been over a year since we went as time is flying by. As I wrote to Sharon we are not cycling for the foreseeable future due to a cracked frame so there is now time for other activities. Not all bad right? Anyway hope everyone has a great day and enjoys. XOXO

For Caturday Saturday

On my parents deck...three of their ferals aww

Happy Caturday Saturday!

Oh and since we won't be riding anytime soon hope these photos from yesterday hold you. Luckily I took a lot of photos yesterday lol. We went to Manasquan and enjoyed a 60 mile round trip ride. It was a really beautiful day.

And we hit 60 miles yesterday...a purrrfect cycling day

Screen Shot 2022-10-15 at 7.17.48 AM.png

Unfortunately the frame was cracked when we got home. Wow. Luckily it didn't break down away from home or we might have been in a pickle. This bike doesn't fit in any car or even truck. Need a big vehicle.

Screen Shot 2022-10-15 at 7.17.59 AM.png

Such is life.
And our adventures continue for a while without our bike.
One day at a time.
Happy weekend all!

@missy - I'm so sorry about your cracked frame! Hoping it's fixed soon.

Can you pls tell me which beach that is? It looks gorgeous!! I want to add it to my bucket list. :))

Have a wonderful weekend!

PS. I hope the bike is fixed soon - I don't think I can live without my ice cream photos!!

Aww thank you. I appreciate your good wishes. It’s a good chance we won’t be cycling for at least a few weeks then we are in November. Sigh. The pandemic has caused a bike parts shortage and our bike is a highly specialized item. I looked into buying another and those are also in short supply but it’s worth the money (9k plus not including shipping). But right now it’s the weekend and all places are closed. So Monday we shall call a few vendors (most on the west coast so it’s more challenging shipping as we need freight shipping and they won’t rush that) and see if any are available. I don’t want to be a negative Nellie but there’s a chance we are out of luck for the rest of the season (year).

Of course greg won’t acknowledge that. He is saying hopefully in two weeks. And he is feeling super guilty as I wanted a spare bike but he said we have no storage space. Well now this proves I was right. The manufacturer told greg the frame never (rarely) cracks when he enquired about it last year. As he was duplicating all possible parts. But we didn’t get an extra frame as that’s impossible to get and they reassured him there was no need as the frame rarely cracks. Well it cracked yesterday lol.

Anyway those are the details. So now we wait til Monday and west coast hours and hope we can get a frame replacement and or new bike. I look at it this way. If money can fix it it’s not a problem. But the question is when can we get the new frame or new bike. It’s a challenging time for things that are in short supply. Thanks for asking. And yes it will be a while for new ice cream photos. I’m so sorry :(
If it’s any comfort I’m just (if not more lol) sad about this believe me.

First beach s Manasquan. I love this beach. Small and relatively private.

Second beach is Long Branch. Larger and more crowded during the summer. Still a great beach.

Hugs ♥️

Oops almost forgot the Halloween photo of the day. Not sure I’ll be able to continue without our bike but here’s one for today at least. Enjoy

Hello lovelies

Wishing Tim safe travels on his mammoth journey to Oz and I hope he gets to enjoy lots of time with his family there @mrs-b. How’re you feeling today? Thank you for your kind words, yet it is rather a stab in the back, especially as ironically is was a year ago on Thursday that we took up full time residence here.

I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your much deserved meal out @canuk-gal and glad that the yucky barium swallow is over and done with. It makes sense that your posture could be the cause, so let’s hope you’ll soon be right as rain!

Oh no @missy, what a disaster! :(2 Your poor bike, it certainly takes a pounding with all the miles you travel. It’s no consolation that you’re the exception that‘s proved the rule! Fingers crossed for a quick resolution so you can get out and do what you love doing. Are you looking for anything in particular at the jewellery store, or just going for a browse?

We’re now less than 4 weeks out from the trip, so I’m going to start folding and bagging Colin’s cloths today. As you can tell, I don’t leave things till the last minute, as we already sorted what he’s taking a few weeks ago. I’ll do mine next week, and then we can see if we can fit anymore in the cases. It’s always complicated when you do a multi-stage trip. The weather in England is going to be very different to the rest of the trip.

We’re FT our friends tomorrow (postponed from last weekend), so it’ll be great to catch up with them. As for everything else, well, nothing we can do, so will just try and focus on the positives and deal with the rest at a later date.

Wishing all the lovely NIRDIs a great weekend :wavey:

We’re FT our friends tomorrow (postponed from last weekend), so it’ll be great to catch up with them. As for everything else, well, nothing we can do, so will just try and focus on the positives and deal with the rest at a later date.

Wishing all the lovely NIRDIs a great weekend :wavey:

@Austina - Can you pls tell me where in Australia you're going? Since I am unable to travel right now - and probably for the next year or two - I can only travel vicariously, and I've been homesick in a very sad kind of way for some time now. So - share?

Hi NIRDI's! Thank you all again for keeping us in your thoughts. It means a lot to me.

@mrs-b I hope you are having a good weekend. How are you and Tim doing? Safe travels to Tim. So far I've heard nothing from my lame doctor. I did google how long that second test takes and found an average of 3-5 weeks to get results. I keep checking my insurance because once they run the test, I am sure the bill will show up there before I hear from the doctor. I wonder if I could call and ask for a copy? I can't say my throat hurts but I am sure aware of it. Pineapple really got me coughing yesterday and I definitely get hoarse quickly. Good luck with your appointment at the new surgeon. Sorry your MRI took so long. I am so claustrophobic, I think I'd freak out BIG TIME if I was in one of them.

@Austina I am so sorry to hear Kim acted that way to you and Colin. I don't know what to say, but I hope she was having a highly emotional period and it clears up soon. Big hugs to you. Good idea to start planning for the upcoming trip. I like planning ahead too, Marty backs before he walks out the door. When he traveled a lot he was quite good at packing. Now, he forgets a few things. How is the pool coming along? That was very nice of Colin to help his SIL take care of things after he lost his brother. It looks like my SIL is staying there to help out through this month.

@missy great Halloween pictures. I almost picked up some little pumpkin lights the other day but couldn't decide where to put them. Oh no to the bike. I hope you can get the parts and get it fixed sooner than it appears. Parts shortages are bad now. The beach pictures are fabulous. Glad to hear your ultrasound went okay. Nice to get the sonogram done quickly. Enjoy seeing your parents. That is great your endocrinologist told you he learned a lot from you. I hate to hear the lab tech messed up on the blood draw.

@canuk-gal good luck with your tests and follow up. Barium is not the best tasting stuff. Sorry you get so dizzy. I have that problem now and then too, it can be scary.. Sweet to getting two great blazers and saving 1300 bucks. I just ordered some more cardigans from Land's End. I replaced three vests I had in a smaller size so ordered a cardigan to try. I like it enough that I ordered it in three more colors since I could get them at 50% off. I am trying to be cheap with clothes now in case they get too big for me. Thanks for mentioning Halloween shows. I need to go hunt down the Peanuts Great Pumpkin show.

@junebug17 thank you for thinking of us. Marty is sure struggling this week, as I told someone else, I guarantee I was no bundle of joy after my parents passed away. That's nice to catch up with a friend this weekend. I hope she is feeling better now. Good luck with the jacket you ordered. It's hard to tell until you try clothes on. I just ordered a few more cardigans from Land's End. I replaced some fleece vests I like so tried a new cardigan with that order. Luckily I was able to get the three 50% off.

@bling_dream19 thank you for thinking of me. I appreciate it.

We had a busy week. Marty is catching up with his day job and my part time - not part time - job kept me busy. We are definitely having fall weather now. Warm days, chilly nights. It's hard to decide if we need heat or AC.

Some friends are coming over for supper today. They were going to do a birthday dinner for Marty but he was quite clear he doesn't ever care to celebrate his birthday again after the funeral was on his birthday. I let my friend know - make cupcakes instead of cake and no card, gift or happy birthday mention. Her parents are coming too - they are clients at the gym. We'll play some games. Sounds fun.

I mentioned to Marty this week I wouldn't mind a better resolution monitor since the one I was using isn't as nice as my new laptop. As luck with have it, he was wanting to replace one of his three monitors so we ordered 2 from Amazon and like magic they showed up tomorrow. It is slightly larger than the one I had (27" to 31") and after several hours of tweaking picture mode, brightness and contrast, I think I have it set up.

Have a nice weekend.
Marcy

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@missy your bike frame! WTH??? Hope it can be remedied soon. Can you guys ride your single bikes while it is being replaced? We have very fine weather and will ride tomorrow. Could have today except we had stuff to do. Oh and that kitty pic at your folk's house was so adorable--like a Hallmark card!

@marcy sending Marty healing vibes. The sting and hurt is very real as you are well aware. Never leaves you. Good deal on the sweaters. I have been eyeing some as well as 7 months of the year here is sweater weather, unfortunately. Nice to new monitors. My DH told me he saw an ad for a Christmas show today. OK YA NO. :P2

@Austina I'm always travel prepared but not weeks out. How long is your trip? I', sure it will be lovely.

@mrs-b safe travels to your DH. I hope his trip is great!!!

Had a lovely lunch out with my pal. She treated me again! My turn, next time. The weather turned out much better than expected. Bright sunny day and no wind. All I needed was my new blazer outside! I hope this weather lasts until Christmas. LOL.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy Sunday!

@canuk-gal we actually have two other tandems. But they are upright racing tandems and since my OP dx I don't feel comfortable risking it. So I will wait. Aww so sweet your friend treated you to lunch. And I am with you. I would love this gorgeous weather to last til and after Christmas and beyond haha

@Austina we wanted to visit the lovely ladies there and just browse. OMG I saw a gorgeous 5 plus carat asscher cut diamond ring and I was drooling lol. I tried it on and while it was big for my ring finger it fit perfectly on my middle finger haha. It was a very elegant and sophisticated look. They couldn't find the GIA cert so I don't know the color but my eye guessed L. The owner said oh no it's much whiter than that. But I was wearing Bubbalah and she's a GIA cert and she is MUCH whiter (at least a few shades whiter by my eye) than that asscher. But nonetheless it was a gorgeous diamond and ring. Sorry no photos. Next time. Enjoy FTing your friends today

@mrs-b Hope Tim safely arrived and is visiting with his parents. It is a sobering fact that time flies and who knows how much longer we will be able to see our parents. We are visiting my parents today and looking forward to it. Hope you are doing well and enjoying a lovely wekeend

@marcy I am sorry the funeral on Marty's birthday has soured him on celebrating his bday and hopefully in time he will feel differently. It is a terrible loss. :( Truth be told I do not celebrate my bday anymore really. I haven't been in the mood the last few years. IDK. Maybe after the pandemic I will feel differently but for now it's just another day. Hope you enjoyed dinner with your friends yesterday. And woohoo hope you love your new monitor. Isn't it fun getting new things we can use and enjoy. Hope your Sunday is a lovely day.

@bling_dream19 hope you are having a wonderful weekend sweet girl

@Slickk happy Sunday, hope you are enjoying this amazing weather and maybe seeing your beautiful family

Hi everyone else. We had a great day visiting our favorite towns and seeing our fave antique dealer. What a day it was. We walked across the bridge and got to see a lot of bling lol and art and miscellaneous things. It was a good day. Today we are seeing my parents. And that's my update. I did manage to get the Halloween photo of the day for you :)

@missy, well you can always hike! No reason to waste great weather! Enjoy your family visit today--it has been a while for you guys!!

We'll hit the mall shortly as I need winter booties (gak winter!)..not for the big snow but some interim stuff. That right folks, we need twenty coats and 10 different kinds of fall-winter footware here!

Hope to cycle today as well, and then make family Sunday supper. Glorious weather remains!!

Keep well and safe folks!
