Pictures of two emeralds I'm considering

Ooo i know this vendor! I've bought a lot of cheapy <1ct CSs from him. The colors IRL were def way less bright and saturated than the pics. But I requested a refund thru ebay and it was processed smoothly. I was only out the return shippinh fees.

Sharp eye!

Did you keep any of the purchases??

Naw. It was a random lot of yellow and orange gems. Since I don't have any pieces in those colors, I thought it be a fun and inexpensive project. But they ended up being so meh, I didn't keep em. I don't think I even took pics! Just requested a return right away lol.

Don't order from him. It wasn't a scam, but the ring is very ordinary. I started the return process.

Oh no, sorry to hear hope you get your refund. I'll remove him from my watchlist now thx!

I’ve been casually looking for an emerald for over a year now and I’m still surprised with how expensive they can be. Have you checked out Muzoemeralds on Instagram? I’ve seen some ”no oil” emeralds on his feed (linking one below). They aren’t cheap but they were a LOT less than the two you shared above.

Are you committed to “no oil?” Most emeralds are treated and I think you could get an amazing emerald with “minimal” or “minor” treatment. If it’s a mind clean thing, I totally understand.

Stopping in to update that I am looking at a few F1s this week - possible a compromise between my desire for high quality oil only and my budget! We will see...

Here is an f1 I saw today. Different jeweler, 8,400. It goes a little dark in a line down the center, Probably somewhat from the holder but I could also see it on my hand. IMG_5789.jpgIMG_5788.jpgIMG_5785.jpgIMG_5784.jpgStunning color and glow.

Ooh, great color! But if that line is bothering you now, it's probably going to annoy you more later.

I see the potential in this. Would you consider putting metal underneath the stone to reflect the light back? I think it could work as the color is dark enough for it not to be obvious. Some examples of the heads you could use. Still open enough for cleaning.

I have two more f1s coming to me this week to look at hopefully. I really hope one of them is THE ONE because I am anxious to get the ring design started!!!

Hang in there, you will find it.

Another one for consideration. No treatment, Zamia, 1.45 carats, 7.76 long, cut is pleasing to the eye. I like the color. I love the cut and the clarity. The "glow" is more.....center area of the stone, compared to the last Columbian I saw that was terribly cut but still glowed. 10K at a (different) local jeweler.

OPEN to all thoughts and opinions!

I highly recommend talking to https://jrcolombianemeralds.com/ I think you can find something of great quality with a high quality in house jewelers and guaranteed Colombian Origin (you can even know the mine from which it came).

The Zambian one is overpriced, and it has a bow tie in the cut. I actually thought it looks like a cheap lab emerald.
