Thanks, Deco! Those were great examples!
Lisa, you might want to take a look at pink sapphires. A lot of people go in that direction for a pink stone. Pink tourmaline is nice, too!

It was those $100,000 per carat price tags that softened me into appreciating pink-browns and brownish pinks... the center stone in here is 1.12 ct and the whole ring is $25K. It''s pink enough for me - at least in the photo!:
Ooh, Ninama, can you tell me where this ring is from? It''s beautiful! Reminds me of happy cotton candy days at carnivals...

Or.... a 1.70 FIP for $280,000.00!
It really makes me nutsy-kookoo that looking at these ultra-expensive things can get me thinking that 15K, 20K, 25K is like nothing. It''s a lot of damned money (to me)! I know it''s all relative... but yikes.
I keep thinking it has a bit of brown too, but the GIA cert says "pink".Date: 2/7/2008 3:24:14 PM

IMHO, when I first saw the photo (and I''m sure it varies from screen to screen), but Deep Pink came to mind. It''s a good price for the size of the stone. And in looking at it multiple times, sometimes I see deep pink and sometimes also a tad of brownish that I think gives it a darker tone.
