Made me feel happy on a cold, snowy day here in NJ.

Yes me too! Wow what a start to Spring. Though I think it wasn't as bad as the meteorologists were predicting. Some quick morning photos of my idea of "wild"life haha.
Maybe just under 12 inches here. Main roads well cleared however side streets and less traveled roads are a mess.
grandarmyplazamarchsnow.jpg march2018snow.jpgmarchsnow2018.jpg

and just a bit over 6 inches at the jersey shore.
Not bad.

@pinkjewel , thank you for sharing your photos which brought some visual warmth to a Winter day!
I love the photos and the beautiful soft backgrounds. Gorgeous!

The white bird is lovely and reminds me of grosbeak - except for the colouring, however the only grosbeak I've seen is a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. After seeing your photo, I searched for what kind of bird it might be, keeping in mind that you were in Key West. No luck.

Do you - anyone else here - know what it might be?

@missy , sometimes the wildest life is on the roads! :mrgreen2:

I think most of us snow dwellers are ready for Spring, but your lovely photos demonstrate how beautiful trees appear with snow covered branches. So serene.

That said, I'm ready for Spring!

Glad you enjoyed the photos december-fire! The bird is a white zebra finch:)) I believe the all white is a mutation.

My daughter in law gave us an orchid for Resa's birthday back on the first of February. It had one or two blooms and several buds pos it. I did not think the buds would live to see the light of day as flowers.

Fortunately as we were leaving to go home, she told us how easy it was to care for this orchid. "Just add three cubes of ice to the pot once per week."

Well, it works! Here we are at the end of March and the beautiful flowers are now where the buds were, and the original flowers are still looking great too.

These were taken this past Saturday at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in Portland Oregon. A rainy blustery day.

Finally got the cast off my wrist!
Darn hand and wrist aren't yet back to normal, but I'm driving and able to use my camera (although it feels like it gained 10 lbs :eek2:).

A couple of shots from yesterday evening.

First up, a Canada Goose! Some stay all Winter, but most head South (unlike those of us who don't know enough to escape the Winter). I love having them return home in the Spring! =)2

As the sun was setting, this seagull swooped into the lake right in front of me and emerged with a fish (a catfish?)!
He then landed in the middle of the road beside the lake and enjoyed his meal.
I took lots of photos of the event but, in reviewing the photos of the meal being devoured, decided some people might prefer not to see the others.

Why did the snapping turtle cross the road?
No one was foolish enough to stop him and ask. =)2

I had dad with me at my day job for a week while I taught him the ropes. He made a new friend and a rather needy one at that. Wouldn't leave him alone for more than 5 minutes and would headbutt a fence post to get his attention :lol:20180419_111550.jpg

Those fox pics are too precious. Thank you for sharing those!

I love the picture, and my childhood dream of being a lepidopterologist demands that I tell you this incredible creature is a moth. One of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing.

Was out on my front stoop a little bit ago, and noticed this little guy having lunch. And when I say he was little, I mean <1 inch. Snapped a couple pics and a video of him chowing down on what I believe are these microscopic little white bugs that have been driving us nuts. You can barely see them, but if they land on you, they feel like they’re biting or something, and make us itch. So ... I’m happy to keep our praying mantis buddy around - rent free - to feast on these little f#$%&@# as long as he likes to the point of mantis gluttony! :mrgreen2:

From our cycling adventures yesterday. Lots of wildlife love.

First up a Cormorant drying his/her wings after a lovely swim.

It's baby season. Precious sweet goslings abound. 9 goslings in this group and 4 adults.

On the 9th of June, I drove up to the local ski area. Here is a picture taken on a road up the back side of the mountain, in an area not open to skiing.

Bobus snow in June-4.jpg

Within minutes of taking this photo the sun came out and it was like it was raining under the trees with all of the drops falling on my head. I have no idea what flowers these are, but they are beautiful.

Found a baby bird on a busy shopping center sidewalk. The nest was in the eaves of a bank. Baby is safe with a wildlife rehab group. He is probably three days old. Okay except some damage to a wing. They are going to fix him right up.

Pictures from tonight, glad I took a picture of the rainbow because it disappeared quickly.

My son found the plant hopper while sweeping the yard with a net.
