Please share your photos of nature, wildlife, etc.

You must have had such a great time taking those nice pictures Cheryl.

I have been many places, but Antarctica is not one of them, nor is it on my bucket list. Just too cold for me!

Wink

December is their SUMMER time. Temps not bad at all, about 35 degrees or warmer most days. Sometimes we wore only our red parka shells and not the jacket inside. The only time it felt really cold was in the zodiac rides to go ashore with the wind blowing in our face ... that was COLD burrrrr.

@cflutist what lovely penguins! :kiss2:

This is a little romp in Kauai. It was... very wet. Not pictured is the rain that cancelled some excursions.

There’s someone by TR who raises miniature horses. Every time I go by I stop and talk them from my car window. I’m sure they’re like, “Oh look, it’s the crazy lady who talks baby talk to us.”

@Dee*Jay toss them some carrots! Then they'll be excited to see you, and maybe they'll talk back. :mrgreen2:

Monnie, when they start talking back I'm going to have to start reevaluating some things, LOL!

Bumping this thread up for new additions.

Aww I love Kermit. What a sweetie.:kiss2:

We have these small lily pad type of cushions floating at the side of the pool so frogs and toads don't drown. But Kermit keeps coming back so we just let him have the pool as his domain. I actually found a snake swimming in the pool the other day, that was a first. He was so cute.

I spotted this lovely creature while going out to shoot some flowers in my front yard. I used to raise these for a hobby when I was in high school. Never could get a good picture of them then. I used to shoot a roll or two of film, then wait for a couple of weeks to discover they were all horrible...

I am loving that this is obviously a newly hatched butterfly as the wings are still "perfect" and not beat up and transparent in places at they will be in a few days.

I love all your photos!! I also enjoy having lots of different pets, fiance has capped me at 4 maximum :( right now, I've got a dog, crested gecko and tortoise (I'm saving the last spot for a horse in the near future). We did have a hamster that passed away last year.

Thanks Rubymal! Wow, a tortoise! They are so cool! I used to have cresties too and they had babies. Amazing you are getting a horse!

Spider web in the sun after a sprinkle...

This guy flew into my yard, tried to eat my fish out of my pond, hopped on my shoulder and came inside to eat peanuts and drink water. After a few FB posts, it turns out he had gotten out of his owner's house and flew about a mile away to enjoy my tropical paradise. It's a sun conure and he was so adorable, the kids wanted to keep him. The owner was very thankful I found him and kept him safe until he could come over and pick him up:) He's a sun conure.

This is a bunny that lives in our yard. She is adorable and I've almost stepped on her because she is so tame she doesn't move!

And here are my bluebirds that are now adults- mom and dad have laid 5 more eggs for their second brood:

Nature & wildlife in one pic ... my orchid and my neighbor’s cat, who seems to like me more than his owners, as he hangs out at our home all the time.

That’s a perfectly framed shot! So funny!

Thanks! It is kinda funny, but also kind of sad. He is an indoor/outdoor cat, and his owners do care for him, food/vet/etc., but they are out of town right now for a few weeks and have someone staying nights at the house while they are away. Kitty cat doesn’t seem to like the ‘pet nanny’ too much, so he has been at our house (outside only) for a week or so now practically non-stop. It’s been crazy hot and dry (until today, FINALLY some rain!), so I and other neighbors have been worried about him, keeping water available for him, etc. I texted his owner after the first couple days because he was here more than usual; that’s when she told me the situation/arrangement. He has a cat door to get in & out, but chooses to be out more than in.

Earlier, he & my dogs were checking each other out through the windows.
