Okies I have news! So I spoke to the vendor and we discussed the design. He reckons it's doable and recommended what he thinks is as appropriate melee size.

I'm waiting until my 2 current projects finish as I don't like to run too many projects at the same time in case it confuses them.

Huge language barrier so must do what I can to minimise confusion or misunderstanding.
